2241  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: 6 Bitcoins & 2 Ounces of fine Gold in Bounty – Submission Deadline 31st August on: August 31, 2014, 08:01:44 PM
Ok guys, here is my submissions.
First I would like to say good job to everyone.
There is some very nice designs made.
Well done!

Secondly, it has been a long weekend for me as I had to turn the rough sketches I have done while on holidays to something presentable.

I have taken into serious consideration what Coinographic requested as it was exactly what I wanted too.
Quote
We are looking for people to be as creative as possible.  It is our intention to create the most luxurious & exquisite physical Bitcoin ever minted.

So having that in mind while I was creating my coin designs, I present to you my ideas:
(Apologies for the large image size)

PHYSICAL BITCOIN DESIGN #1
OCTAGON COIN

My idea is to create the coin using both yellow and white gold as to give attention to detail (yellow gold only version also included). I wanted something that truly stands out in terms of design, material, craftsmanship and presentation. A true luxurious coin that would make any coin collector proud to own one.

Design Details:
FRONT:
First as you have probably noticed, the Bitcoin logo is placed on top of an image of the moon (TO THE MOON!!!!) which is escorted by another 7 circles (or planets) giving a total of 8 planets – as much as the planets in our Solar system – as to state that Bitcoin is Universal currency.
The moon behind the Bitcoin logo also resembles the earth.
The circle containing the number 5 is earth – 5 continents - and the number 5 also symbolizes the years of Bitcoin and how fast it has been widely adopted.
The stars are also symbolic as there can be as many (maybe more) Bitcoin addresses as there is stars.
(Total number of Bitcoin addresses is: 1,461,501,637,330,902,918,203,684,832,716,283,019,655,932,542,976)
The two circles containing stars have a trail which is also a simplified version of open wings, symbolizing freedom – monetary freedom without any third party or middle man involved (banks, etc).
Around the edges the binary code translates to “five btc”.
On the sides of the coin (rim) the word Coinographic is engraved going all the way around.
BACK:
The hologram contains all the important information and has a geometric pattern (the one right after the bitcoin keys) that symbolizes the use of the net and the blockchain which is the basis of Bitcoin’s success. The trustless distributed consensus.

PACKAGE:
For the package I wanted to create something unique that will accompany the coin and give it the class and projection it deserves. It allows the coin to be displayed in all sides and provide protection at the same time. No need to open a box to view the coin. A coin like this should not be enclosed in a box.
The base will be plastic and the coin itself will be placed in between two, hard plastic sheets (plexiglass?)
The shape of the coin will be laser engraved on the sheets as to allow the coin to fit in properly.
The sheets will then slide in to the side of the base.

PHYSICAL BITCOIN DESIGN #2
ROUND COIN

The details are more or less the same as the Octagon version but on a different design.

So what do you guys think?

Coinographic,

Is there a specific time when the competition ends today or should we assume that submissions will be accepted till midnight GMT?

2243  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: 6 Bitcoins & 2 Ounces of fine Gold in Bounty – Submission Deadline 31st August on: August 29, 2014, 03:50:15 PM
2 days left! Keep them coming!

Hi Coinographic,
can I ask what time and timezone this competition ends on Sunday?

Just got back from holidays and would like to know if I have time to work on this or not.

Thanks Smiley

or not...

From all of the press releases from the police and everything, there is legitimately only one way he could get out of this, and that is that the prosecutor somehow messes up and gets a mistrial. Ross is done for, he is scum, he ran a website that is illegal and got caught in a library while signed into his master account that ran everything. The police tackled him out of a chair so he couldn't lock the computer or break it. He was caught red handed, his parents are delusional and obviously are not intelligent enough to gauge what their own son does. Just looking into his eyes, noticing his facial expressions and how he holds himself most people can conclude there is something wrong with DPR.

If you cannot tell that from strictly just looking at him you probably have some form of autism or an inability to empathize with others and get a real connection on how another human being acts and really behaves.

You know how when you watch COPS or a show, you look at the guy, and you're like wow it looks like he did it because you can tell there is something so off about him you know he did it and/or something else.

People are pretty easy to read honestly if you really take the time to look at mannerisms. He also was you know, kinda caught red handed in their operation where he hired an FBI agent to assassinate that one guy who made him mad by doing something( I forget it was something like disagreeing with DPR on something dumb). DPR flipped out, hired an undercover FBI guy, then wanted all the guys room mates killed too. they staged the crime scene, sent the pics to DPR paid the undercover FBI guy and they got him dead to rights.

I still cannot fathom the stupidity of anyone making a topic about this horrible person who did a lot of illegal things. mind you i could care less about what drugs you take honestly, but it is the law(for now).

Please for the love of everything or nothing or anything, delete this stupid topic. It serves no purpose other than having other morons come out and say stupid things.

OK, I ain't gonna argue with you there.
Yes he did it and to be honest I couldn't care less if he makes it out.

But in the case he does,
your coins and mine will double in value.

That being said, I am no where near a supporter of Ross or SilkRoad for that matter but you should know that there are a lot in these forums that are  Roll Eyes

PS: You think Ross is a bad person yet nothing has changed with his arrest. Has it?
2246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ross Ulbricht’s Silk Road Defence Invokes Fourth Amendment on: August 04, 2014, 06:51:38 PM
If he does...

what happens with his coins they sold?

good point they have to hit him with some kinda crime to keep the auction proceeds no?

But it would be great if he does win the case and he demands his coins IN COINS back Smiley

The US gov will have to buy all his coins back!

TO THE MOON!!!!!!

Is there a link to a news article you could share that shows he's invoking the fourth amendment for his defence you could share?  Or is this just some random speculation you were hoping to have a disscussion about?  Either way my interest is peeked.

2251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IS BITCOIN A CIA PROJECT? on: August 04, 2014, 11:57:32 AM
If the CIA/NSA or Mossad created Bitcoin, then nothing can stop Bitcoin from prevailing. It's the biggest possible buy signal.

True!

That being said:

I do believe that the CIA is a Bitcoin project....
We have to hard fork and get them out of the blockchain immediately   Tongue
2252  Other / Off-topic / Re: New Disgusting Behavior by PayPal on: August 03, 2014, 06:00:54 PM
What do you mean bank account?

Don't you have to authorize a transfer to be sent from your bank account?

Unless you mean your old banks credit card/visa?

Because they can not do that either unless an invoice is issued to you and you accept to make the payment.

This doesn't make sense Huh

I might give it a shot.
2256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IS BITCOIN A CIA PROJECT? on: August 02, 2014, 12:58:23 PM
CIA?

No.

If there is government involvement in the beginning of bitcoin, it was more likely NSA.

I'm less and less convinced that Satoshi was a government codename and am more and more convinced that Satoshi was a single person.

I will agree with this statement.
Anybody who took the time to read his posts can tell that.

Apart from that since a lot of you like conspiracies then let me lay down a scenario for you:

Satoshi worked for the Government (CIA or NSA doesn't matter), yet he didn't like what his job had him doing.
So, he decided to change the world by giving them monetary freedom and a technology that we can build upon.

Then Gavin just happens to go to the CIA -
The CIA likes the idea of Bitcoin - it actually gives them control over what is being spent by whom through the blockchain, and that is something they cannot do with cash.
They asked him who this Satoshi is and then threatened Gavin a bit and maybe Gavin made a deal with them (NOT SAYING THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED - just silly conspiracy theory).
Obviously since Satoshi worked for them, he knew that so he decided to "disappear" and he could do that efficiently because he knows how they work and he can monitor their progress.

Apart from my silly conspiracy theory above.

OP, if you want to gain a name for yourself in this community start by being honest.

If you want us to read your articles, then ask us nicely and we will read them and give you our opinion.
We do it with others anyway.
No need to pollute the forum with useless threads.
Something along the lines of: "Guys what do you think of my article? Be honest!"

Swordsoffreedom, I like you and I hate you man/woman.

You have me thinking now......

This could actually be possible, yet, I cannot afford to think about it right now coz I have work to do.

None the less you have me thinking....
And this is probably going to stay in the back of my mind until I basically make a decision if it's possible or not.

Right now, I think it is, but I still need to look at all possible failures that can happen.
Haven't found one yet, so if you do please point it out Smiley

Thanks Smiley

EDIT: CryptOS  - how does that sound to you?  Wink

2258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quote of the day: They will not control us! We will be victorious! on: July 28, 2014, 08:15:13 AM
They might be talking about financial regulation and government control? Or maybe about their evil plan to take complete control of the bitcoin network?

When I first read your post I imagined an evil genius rubbing his hands together while saying it, but I'm a bit prone to conspiracy theories to be fair.
Speaking of which, I'm sure they're hiding lots of hash power.

Exactly...

When they hit 51% recently they had 45PH.
Now its 35-38PH.

Nobody moved their miners when they had 51% so what happened?

Are they hiding hash power or have people finally decided to move their miners elsewhere?

I do not know which is true but that is a very bold statement they made......

(Although if someone makes a whole Platform OS decentralized somehow I might be interested)

-snip-

I kind of like that idea but how would that work?
It would mean that your personal documents will be stored everywhere.....

UNLESS, we as a community build an operating system that loads all necessary (OS) files from online (decentralized) sources and the whole thing is open source.
Much like Bitcoin.....
Still, several things, like network adapter drivers should be loaded before everything else, right?

Hmmm, I like this idea.
But it needs work.

We could however start with the best out there, and that is Linux.
Yet, to make it worldwide accepted, we would have to make it user friendly, like windows.

Not a bad idea, but a very diffucult task.
2260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Quote of the day: They will not control us! We will be victorious! on: July 28, 2014, 07:39:28 AM
Hmmm, this is coming directly from GHash.io

I wonder what it means?........

Btw, their hashrate seems to have dropped about 10PH. And that doesn't make sense......
