A 0.5 BTC bounty has been created for brainwallet.io.

The passphrase is "hello world".

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3jd5qe/05_btc_bounty_at_brainwalletio_the_passphrase_is/

There are 3 kinds of salt right? Which one did you choose?
login info - personal info - generic
I tried some but it's just impossible for me, too much room to guess the salt
2242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what kind of address is this? on: September 02, 2015, 03:11:51 PM
@BurtW thank you for explaining us, really it is my first time that i hear for these kind of addresses
I don't understand why people want to loose forever their bitcoin in these kind of addresses or maybe just for fun Cheesy
I quoted your post as it is very useful for people like me that haven't heard before

Again, they are not generated by vanitygen - that would be impossible.

The way they are created it to select a string you want to have, for example:

11ALwaysPLayTheGratefuLDead

Then calculate the 160 bits that will encode to that string by reversing the following calculation:

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Base58Check_encoding

Then calculate the correct checksum and properly add it to the end.

It is not quite that simple but you can figure it out.

In my example the number 0007ccc123012ca1eefc2a65126de365965bfa6d encodes to 11ALwaysPLayTheGratefuLDeadWdq4Xo

Finally to record it in the block chain you simple send some Bitcoin that will be forever lost to the address.
2243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: September 02, 2015, 03:05:03 PM
i can make money from gambling

you can make money with gambling if you are 100% sure winner all the time, but if not, then it's not a good way of growing your bitcoins

Well you don’t need to win 100% of the time to be a winner in a real life casino, you only need to push the percentage in your favor to about 51% and have deep pockets to withstand some bad luck.

don't you think if its just 51% winning is just break even?
maybe 75% wins that will make money
but again, it's based on chance and luck. not my cup of tea Smiley

If there was no house edge, you should break even.
When you go to Primedice, you should notice that at 2x payout the win chance is 49.5%. This is because Primedice has an 0.5% house edge, and this is why it is not profitable to play Primedice in the long term.

I am not interested in growing my bitcoin through gambling,
But for curiosity what role has this house edge that you have mentioned?
How does it affect in your earnings in this case for long term

It means that out of 100 bets with 50% chance you will lose 49.5 bets and lose 50.5 bets when house edge is one percent.

At 2x payout you will have a chance of 49.5%, which is a house edge of 1%, not 0.5%.

I'm no pro, so someone correct me when i'm wrong.

Well ok, i dont know much in the gamling/betting terminology but seems that some profit goes to the website owner.

I started with faucet and then began to buy little little and selling them with small profit. At one point I thought gambling is good way to make my Bitcoins grow faster and I ended with loss. Now trading locally is the best option which I use to grow my Bitcoins.

As you can see it has been grown fast at the beginning and end in loosing fast.

Good that you are out of that "dirty game"
2244  Economy / Gambling / Re: www.chopcoin.io - The new interactive Bitcoin game! on: September 02, 2015, 03:00:53 PM
I just played for a  few minutes with it, seems interesting even though i chose the free playground to play.
What i dont understand is the balance (120 satoshi) that i earned it is not showing in the account balance.
Is there any bug or it only works when playing in Main playground?

Yes you are right, the free playground is to learn how the game works and the earned value does not get credited.
We soon will do advertising and give out a press info so the playgrounds will fill and you can play against other players for real bitcoins Smiley

So if you see someone playing on a paid playground feel free to join and battle him.

Well ok, i just played a bit to see how it works but when i split it also split my balance?
Is that good? And when i go to the "settings button" it does nothing just change it appearance
What i would suggest is to let guests see how other players are playing and learn/understand how the game is played.

When you split and get back together after 30 secounds you loose some low points. So people have to decide if they want to shoot some mass and split and if that would help to get bigger. Thats the way you have to act Smiley

You can spactate people while they play.

Oh ok, maybe i saw just blank so there was no user online at that time.
Must act smart Tongue tactic, go bigger and split Tongue
I will check time by time if there are some players to see how it goes. Good luck in your project
2245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what kind of address is this? on: September 02, 2015, 02:33:16 PM
I think that it was generated through vanitygen?
It has an option but this address the number of "1" is just to long.
The difficulty in this case would be so hard to generate, is it possible?
NO.  It is not possible.

These addresses are not generated by vanitygen.

Addresses generated by vanitygen have valid known private keys and public keys.

As stated many times, all of the addresses talked about in this tread do not have known private keys or public keys and never will.

How can i have an address like this it's so funny to have one.
Also the outputs from the address that you mentioned.
How are these created, i know through vanitiygen its to hard at least for my rig.

i'm always win in cryptsy!!!! i got s :some profit range 5000 to 10000 pesos everyday!!! my strategy is buying order to the lower price then wait until hit the target percentage you want!! Grin who's looking for advice?..i'm willing to teach to all interested Cool Cool Cool

everyday? with low volume that bitcoin currently has it isn't that worthy to do day trading.

Yeah, no milk and cookies for you today, lol

I experimented a bit with etherum in poloniex, it is just luck.
You can analyze a bit but there are too much dump and pump that trades are trying.
The price increase fast and decrease faster than you think, but in low volumes i always had little profit.

Well lots of ads this is how faucets make profit but we need twice to solve the "captcha".
Btw i just hit "Generated number is 2247, You earned 0.00000110 BTC!"
I wonder if anyone has won the big prize?

Only first time login with your BTC address you need twice solve the captcha. One for record address, other one for claim. Than you can claim with one time solve captcha.

Alright i understand, but i have seen in many other faucets they ask always for the address.
Put address and solve the captcha and click to get the reward.
Anyone has won the big prize until now?

2255  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk Account price estimator on: September 02, 2015, 09:16:03 AM
Always When i try to check account price i have to wait for long time
Please wait. You are number 16 in the queue.

Can we install this script on Free hosting website ? like activity calculator
You can install it yourself from the github repo but not easily since it is not written in php. You will need to know how to build and run GWT applications. I will at some point write installation instructions.

That's the best idea that i heard today, so the ip from host to host changes and are not same so the bitcointalk will not ban the ip's
Just checked the code in github and seems that all files are java so it must work on eclipse? alone?
Waiting for the Installation instructions to run it Smiley Good Luck.
2256  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: UCO1.com on: September 01, 2015, 10:07:22 PM
I have not seen any evidence of people using UCO1.com and am wondering if it is a scam or not. Has anyone tried to invest in it? And if so did it return back atleast the capital of that investment?
I invested 100000 satoshi, tried to withdraw funds when I got suspicious but it didn't let me.Now the site is unreachable. I am happy I didn't invest much

Why didn't they let you withdraw your money from their website?

I dont remember the exact amount they required but i think it was 0.01 the minimum payout request?

Wapinter, don't worry to much, it has been done now. Please be careful next time, research for the website that you want to invest.
For some strange reasons when I tried to click withdraw button it takes me back to same page.
I was referred to that site by a fb user who befriended me there who I now assume was the owner of UCO as he has also mysteriously disappeared from fb.
Yeah you re right I need to be more careful in future Smiley

Lol, the website was not known to much and not much popular so i think the number of people invested there is small.
I researched a bit but didn't found any useful information about their platform.
That is just to bad, have you tried to contact their support at least(even though they would ignore as they were closing probably)
No I didn't because I know for sure they wouldn't response. They were scammers and I think email to their support would bounce back because  they must have deleted their domain and hence the associated email

Just in case if they will respond to you, i know they hire professional team just for support to look more proffesional.
And from my experience these websited only pay at the beginning so the frist users will profit a bit or at least get their money back
The others (the next row of the pyramid) invest a lot and at the end get scammed by the site.
2257  Economy / Economics / Re: How many people are using Bitcoin debit card? on: September 01, 2015, 09:05:41 PM
Have you tried to withdraw all your bitcoin to fiat cash through ATMs ? Because somewhere i read that it is limited to 70% and somewhere 90% both posts are from marcotheminer, is any of these true or it is 100%.
Are the fees as advertised or more than that from your experience?

No... I always had 30% to 40% of my coins remaining in the account. And regarding the fee, I think it is as per the rate given in their website.

Because, normally I pay around BTC0.01+3% as fee for withdrawing cash using the Bit-X card. BTC0.01 is Bit-X commission, while around 3% is the commission charged by Mastercard.

Thanks for the feedback, I read a post from marcotheminer about this percentage at the begging it was 70%
Then they increased to 90% because of the fees and the conversation from BTC to fiat (usd or eur).
It should give some room to proceed the fees that's why it is 90%.
Yeah i saw these fees has been decreased a bit but still a bit expensive.

If its expensive, then why would anyone want to adopt something like it?

Yeah, it can be convential comforting, but knowing to pay extra when I can use my smartphone to do the same transaction doesnt make sense to me.  Tongue

It is expensive for us that don't have much bitcoin movement/to spend.
If i had at least 10BTC then i would order one as the fees in this case will be to little comparing to the amount of bitcoins.
Can you share how by smartphone, what do you mean exactly?

Just a suggestion OP, why not make a separate thread on games & rounds section solely for the giveaway? I think this thread is for discussion and inquiries regarding to your site.

It is just fine here Smiley I prefer All-In-One

Yeah, i deposited 0.58177881 as i won that in another ponzi. So, if i lose it, there is not much lost..

For the contest, round 7:

This is the deposit address, as following the rules. I see some didn't read them..
I will keep checking if you win the doubled amount Smiley You risked to much .
I think this is the largest amount invested here, isn't it?
