I don't have one myself, well at least don't have anything in it. But I do know people who use it, it is pretty nice. Fees are not low though. I still prefer regular, btc is just my hobby.
I also don't one because of as of now I don't see any need of it. I can easily trade my coins without any debit card. That's right but you can use your coins only in internet and not in the real economy. With debit card you can use your bitcoins everywhere. Buy good s at the shops at the supermarkets and in every material store that exist in the real world. |

Yes it costs more to buy but think about it, your money is safe and it doesnt get inflated. It might not be trendy yet, but soon it will be.
Also its efficient since you can pay with it right away and not have to wait 10 min to confirm.

I don't think that the fee will come down any lower. Right now, I am paying around 3% fee for cash withdrawals from my Bit-X debit Card. I am paying a slightly higher fee, for cash withdrawals using my credit card (which is issued by one of the local banks). The fee seems reasonable to me. So the only option is to get used to it.  |

No... I always had 30% to 40% of my coins remaining in the account. And regarding the fee, I think it is as per the rate given in their website. Because, normally I pay around BTC0.01+3% as fee for withdrawing cash using the Bit-X card. BTC0.01 is Bit-X commission,while around 3% is the commission charged by Mastercard. |

Pricey or not, in Greece, after the capital controls thing, using these cards is the most convenient way of using your money outside of the country.

The real problem is that goods and services currently are pegged to the fiat currencies. Not Bitcoin itself. In order for bitcoin to have its true independent eco-system, there requires goods and services priced in BTC independently of fiat.
It will be that way util more merchants are starting to adopt it. However with instant transfer from BTC<>FIAT with merchants they can eliminate volatility risk and they can use it to offer stuff at discount. Also the more merchants use it the more demand there is for bitcoin, so just wait until 500,000 more merchants start accepting it , then we will see some interesting things. |

I don't think offer is valid anymore but feel free to check at the bit x campaign thread as well as their website for additional information regarding the bit x debit card. You're a part of another signature campaign right, how's that going on for ya?

Go to the bit x website and sign up for an account which will either benefit you with a debit card if there is an offer, otherwise you have to buy the debit card in order to receive it and enjoy its services. Once you receive the debit card, transfer bitcoin from any wallet of yours to your bit x wallet. You can use the debit card in any ATM store (selected countries) to cash out your bitcoins and give you fiat in exchange. Not really complicated. |

It works just like a normal debit card, because they are co-branded with mastercard or visa. When you pay your deposit of BTC gets converted into fiat, and the merchant only gets fiat, and also only sees fiat, they dont even know that you paid with bitcoin. The only one that knows is your card issuer and the place where you hold your bitcoin balance from where you spend. |

No... I always had 30% to 40% of my coins remaining in the account. And regarding the fee, I think it is as per the rate given in their website. Because, normally I pay around BTC0.01+3% as fee for withdrawing cash using the Bit-X card. BTC0.01 is Bit-X commission,while around 3% is the commission charged by Mastercard. Thanks for the feedback, I read a post from marcotheminer about this percentage at the begging it was 70% Then they increased to 90% because of the fees and the conversation from BTC to fiat (usd or eur). It should give some room to proceed the fees that's why it is 90%. Yeah i saw these fees has been decreased a bit but still a bit expensive. |
