2241  Other / Politics & Society / Re: It's time to tell the EU to eff off on: October 11, 2020, 11:03:58 PM
I never really understood why the UK would want to be part of the EU. Its economy was large and strong enough such that it stood to receive few benefits from joining, and lost autonomy in terms of regulations in the meantime.

the UK originally brokered the deal to create the EU. so it was like cant make something, promote countries to join it and then say. um not for us we dont like it

we managed to keep a few things though like our currency and our 3pin electric wall plugs and such. but yea. EU 1950 is not the same as EU2000 so it was time to step out of it
The EU is full of ulta-liberal governments that like to overregulate their citizens. There was too much regulation being imposed on the UK by the EU.

You will likely be prevented from posting anything malicious on the forum that might cause a scrapper to be caused to run arbitrary code. I have been prevented from posting non-malicous code of scripts I have written in the past, and I believe from SQL statements are also blocked.

If you are looking for vulnerabilities (and TryNinja has given you permission to do so), I believe a SQL injection attack has a higher probability of finding one.

I don’t even understand why Putin needs to do it

He doesn't need to do it, but the fact is that he can do it with impunity. Putin is untouchable in Russia, and so is able to crush all opposition. And as recent history has shown, other countries will do nothing to stop him. China is an ally, the US under Trump has turned its back on the world, the EU is scared.
Putin invaded multiple countries when Obama was president, and Obama did nothing, actually less than nothing as Obama and Clinton as secretary of State "reset" relations with Putin.

Putin does this because he needs to scare his population into obedience. If the Russians do not heed to Putin's power, his government will fall. There is a possibility (although small) that Putin's government will not surivie due to the unpopularity of their response to the coronavirus.

Russia does not have free and fair elections, but Putin still directs Russians to vote every so often. There have been some local elections in which the opposition party has made gains.

The point is that Putin wants to scare his opposition from putting forward effective candidates, and preventing an effective from campaigning
2244  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Cracking bitcoin wallets? on: October 11, 2020, 07:54:18 PM
I already got a wallet that hasn't been used since 2017, and wanted to know if there are any good tutorials out there to successfully crack a wallet?
I can almost assure you that you do not have said wallet.

As others have mentioned, you have been scammed if you bought this wallet file under the pretense that it contains private keys that can spend valuable coin.

You may have bought an old computer of hard drive from someone who did not realize their old wallet files are still accessible. If this is the case, cracking the wallet is unethical if not outright illegal. The above is also one reason why, since becoming interested in bitcoin, I have never recycled/traded in old phones as I got new/better ones.

We voted for a clean break from the EU. Now after 5 years, it time that we got it.
It was when the UK voted for Brexit in the Summer of 2016, that Trump was going to win the US presidency.

Unfortunately those on the Left do not tend to respect outcomes of elections when their side does not win. The anti-Brexit side, as is the EU, is very liberal.

I never really understood why the UK would want to be part of the EU. Its economy was large and strong enough such that it stood to receive few benefits from joining, and lost autonomy in terms of regulations in the meantime.
2246  Other / Meta / Re: If you received a merit... on: October 08, 2020, 04:22:48 AM
Also, know the difference of being joyful and boastful, receiving merits (especially from well known members) here doesn't give us the right to brag ourselves. Always choose to stay humble and kind.

You can brag... just keep in mind that until you get to maybe 50-100 received merits from 20+ different senders you can't really draw any statistically significant conclusions from it.
I have received nearly 800 merit from over 100 unique people in the span of approximately 18 months. I don't try to earn merit, but I do try to put a lot of effort into what I write, especially when I am wearing a paid signature, but also in general.

I have noticed my posts that I put more effort into tend to receive more merit. This means if someone has received merit for a post, they should try to put similar amounts of effort into other posts.

I have noticed some merit sources tend to read (and in turn give merit for posts in) certain subsets of sections, that will vary from merit source to merit source. This should not be unexpected (few people will read threads in every sub), but there are some subs with low traffic that receive small amounts of merit. I believe this will lead to these subs receiving even less traffic.

Health care
After Obamacare was passed, in the 2010 congressional elections, Republicans gained 63 congressional seats and 6 senate seats. I don't understand why democrats are campaigning on Obamacare. It is not a popular program and will simply not resoniate with voters.

Packing the court is one of the more clinically insane things democrats believe in which is mentally retarded. I would love for someone to explain to me the rationale for packing the court, because even RBG denounced the idea. Even if you plan to pack the court, just fucking lie about it. You're literally going to destroy separation of powers by trying to legislate from the bench as a result of packing the court.
Democrats have frequently achieved their policy goals via the courts that are too radical for voters to approve at the polls. If ACB is confirmed, they will no longer be able to do this. They appear to want to make the United States a one party state, not coincidentally, like China.

Kamala Harris had a valid point on Russian bounties though. I felt Pence needed to respond to this but I'm not sure how he could have refuted the NYT reports. Guess it was best to take the hit but Pence did talk about Baghdadi and Soleimani, two dirt bags that should be dead.
I have read reports that the NYT reporting on this may not be accurate. The NYT reporting is relying on alleged classified information, and refuting this reporting could possibly jeopardize sources and methods of intelligence. My understanding is the basis for this intelligence is that the US found large amounts of cash in a house during a raid, and it is unclear as to the source of this cash.
2248  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin-etl transactions.json what index mean ? on: October 06, 2020, 07:21:44 PM
Ok, thanks Smiley When it comes to outputs, can they be always "1" ? I haven't found any ouput > 1
The transaction you referenced in the OP has two outputs.

It is very common for an individual to have transactions that have exactly two outputs, one to the person/enttity they are sending coin to and one change output.

Many businesses who send many transactions per day will consolidate transactions such that they send coin to many individuals/entities in a single transaction.

Here is an example of a recent transaction that has more than two outputs.

I thought about required_signatures parameter for outputs. This parameter doesn't include P2SH Multisig. It shows "1" for multisigs addresses. I am right?
You cannot tell if an output needs to be signed by more than one private key.

The only exception to the above is if that address has previously signed a transaction that you can review.

2250  Economy / Services / Re: Need Credit Card on: October 04, 2020, 10:28:04 PM
Credit card information is like private keys you're on the hook for even if your wallet is empty.
Not quite. There are consumer protection laws that protect credit card holders from unauthorized transactions after certain thresholds. Some banks will also allow their card holders to create VCC that have user-defined limits for the purpose of online shopping.

The risk that someone taking the OP up on his offer is that you will not have control over whatever service the OP is using, and if the OP were to do something illegal or harmful with the service you are paying for, your name will be attached to said illegal/harmful activity.

Two Republican senators and three White House journalists have tested positive. There is a significant overlap between who got these recent positive tests and participants of Barrett's nomination announcement last Saturday. Barrett herself tested negative and there are reports that she had COVID-19 and recovered a few weeks ago.
If Barrett had it and has since recovered, someone in her household may have brought it to the White House.

Trump has been hospitalized: https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/02/politics/president-donald-trump-walter-reed-coronavirus/index.html

He was walking to the chopper so this doesn't seem like an emergency.
When the leader of the free world has a potentially deadly virus, it is best for him to be in a situation in which he is closely monitored, and that doctors can act quickly in case his situation deteriorates. Trump is continuing to work while in the Hospital, and put out a video saying that he is feeling better.

At his worst, Trump's work output will be six times Biden at his best. Trump has always worked from about 6am to midnight, seven days a week.
Lets be honest, Biden will be a figurehead President if elected. Nothing will change if he were to get the virus from China. The same person will continue running the country and ignoring the constitution.

Yeah I think filing deadlines for a good amount of states have passed at this point. Not fully sure if someone could replace Trump (or Biden) on the ticket at this point. That's not even thinking about the fact that TONS of people have already voted by mail, and those votes can not be changed even if the candidate has died or has become incapacitated in some way up to this point.

I suppose Congress could delay the election, but we're too deadlocked to even let that happen. You'd need both sides of congress to agree on that, and the GOP controls the Senate while the DNC controls the House.

In summary: If one of them dies, the other will most likely win and that'll be the end of the election.
IMO if either Trump or Biden drops out of the race, their party will likely try to prevent the other side from being able get 270 electorial college votes so that Congress will get to decide who becomes President for the next term.

If Congress decides the next election, each state will get to cast one vote, based on their delegation at the next congress.  Currently Republicans have at least 26 votes, and it is unclear how many Democrats would have.

I would expect Democrats to try to hold up state elections in court through when the electrical college must meet according to the constitution. They will also likely try to hold up congressional elections in states of which would vote Republican based on their delegation.

If Congress cannot decide who will become the next President, it will be as if both the President and Vice President died, and whoever is in line after the VP to become President will become President. According to statute, this would be Speak of the House, Nancy Pelosi, then Senator Chuck Grassley, then Secretary of State Mike Pompeo (it doesn't matter after this point). The Constitution says that no person can be both President and a member of the legleslative branch (a congressmen or Senator) at the same time, so in order for Pelosi or Grassley to be eligible to be president, they would need to resign from Congress/Senate, however if they resign from the legleslature, they would no longer hold the position that makes them to be in line to be President per statute. This means Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has a decent chance of being President early next year.
2255  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump has Coronavirus :( on: October 02, 2020, 06:18:20 AM

he has a virus, but seems that it is asymptomatic, if i heard it well
He likely contracted the virus recently, and most people do not start to show symptoms right away.

maybe they will postpone elections, do not know about the procedure, but that seems as rational idea, and probably there is some clause that "due to higher cause" elections could be postponed by month/two, and until then everything will probably be back to normal
Trump does not have the authority to unilaterally postpone the election. Only Congress can change the election date, and the results must be in by December 14, as the constitution perscribes this to be the date the electrical college meets to cast their votes.
2256  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Presidential debates on: October 02, 2020, 05:07:01 AM
Trump is not going to not participate in the next debate.

You'd have to have a crystal ball to know that.

Who knows, he could get covid or something.
Not nice.

It takes about two weeks to get over a mild case of coronavirus, and up to 6 weeks for a severe case. Trump likely did not get the virus today, so that 2 week window has already started. The next presidential debate is in 13 days.

I would also note that Biden was in the same room as Trump for 90 minutes just two days ago, so it is very possible that he also has it, or that he got it at the debate.

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1311892190680014849

Well, I guess we won't be getting our debates after all. Crazy how that works.
Not good. I would be willing to bet that Trump will debate Biden. If he only has a mild case, he will likely debate in separate rooms. If he has a more severe case, he will likely drop out of the race.
2257  Other / Politics & Society / Trump has Coronavirus :( on: October 02, 2020, 05:03:43 AM
Trump just tweeted that he has been infected with the Chinese Coronavirus.

This is a major blow to our country.

How do you think this will affect the election? Will people be more or less likely to vote for Trump? There will be many people voting early via in-person early voting and via mail-in early voting, and they will need to know if the person they are voting for will be alive on election day.

How will this affect the country and world affairs? To date, no world leader has died from coronavirus.

Of course there is: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/white%20supremacist

Quote
Definition of white supremacist
a person who believes that the white race is inherently superior to other races and that white people should have control over people of other races

Even Trump should be able to grasp that.
I believe this is what is taught in critical race theory training. Trump banned this in Federal Agencies and Federal contractors.

The above banning has been criticized by those on the left, including Biden.
2259  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump allies urge him to condemn White Supremacists following debate on: October 01, 2020, 04:13:05 PM
Trump designated the KKK, the former terrorist wing of the Democratic Party, as a terrorist organization. I am not sure how much stronger Trump can condemn white supremacy.

I would also note that in 2017, without being asked Trump said the white suppremists should “totally be condemned”. This is often ignored by the propaganda spread by Democrats about Trumps reaction to what happened in Charlottesville, VA.
2260  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Presidential debates on: October 01, 2020, 01:30:40 PM
Trump is down in the polls, and debating is one way that a candidate can climb out of a polling deficit. Trump is not going to not participate in the next debate.

I would note that it was Biden who was telling the President of the United States to “shut up” and calling him a clown. It was also Biden who called Trump “stupid” even though Biden finished last in his class in school, and has a history of plagiarism.
