2241  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kucoin Twitter account hacked, $22k lost on: April 24, 2023, 02:16:03 PM
Isn't it supposed to be an inside job, since they claim without any proofs that they had twitter 2fa enabled? Aside that, I don't think they had twitter 2FA enabled and they've just enabled it after the hack. Kucoin must have focused their security on the exchange and didn't bother much about their twitter account. Well according to this source the scammers also received 4 ETH in this address 0xd1cd69FCC79fC46B4BBe1AAF2a05F1f014F53965 added to the 22k USDT
2242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins, Telegram and Security on: April 24, 2023, 01:57:52 PM
I've read of the news before but I'm trying to look for the source of it but having hard time finding it. Anyway...

you can read a source where I first read about it before seeing this thread on the forum

Ok so I also have doubts about it. Does this mean that apart from buying with the bank card (KYC) you can make P2P trades without KYC? It should be so, I imagine, as Telegram sells itself as being very respectful of privacy. I don't use Telegram much nor do I know how it works, but I welcome it if it is implemented that way.

I once saw a telegram no KYC bot, and it's normal to say that telegram doesn't require KYC for P2P trades, as their CEO once in his tweet stated that telegram would build and integrate more decentralized projects.

My only concern about this new update is that, telegram is the biggest messenger for crypto scammers, and this new update will only make things easier for such people to carry out their bad attitudes. The wallet bot is a no brainier, anybody can utilize it without difficulty. The UI is friendly, so victims won't hesitate to fall for scammers because no hassle in purchasing bitcoin. Hence, aside that, it's a big adoption for bitcoin, many people on telegram that saw the update or announcement can begin trading with bitcoin and businesses on the messenger will also utilize cryptocurrency as a payment method. As for hacking of wallets, telegram has a feature for users to add password to their numbers before any fresh login. And also users that have their funds stored on telegram wallet can also secure the app with passwords too, to avoid friends or spouse, who can have their phones, from accessing their wallets.
2243  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Start-Up Funding on: April 24, 2023, 06:28:29 AM

Hey, thanks for your message! I completely agree with you. My health has been a bit rough lately due to stress. I can't always work 15-hour days, but I often find myself staying up late. I get up at 6 am, hit the gym, and start my workday around 7:30 am, staying on my computer until 11 pm or even midnight, depending on my tasks.

I'm dedicating a lot of time and energy to this, but it's what I genuinely enjoy doing. Computer science just clicks for me, and it keeps me motivated to work on this project, even if it affects my health. A few months ago, I thought I was facing some health issues, but it really it's just been a build-up of stress from this project.

Crypto has been the life and death of me, I've made lots and lost everything. But there's something about it that keeps me driven to finish what I started, and that's bringing these ideas to life.

I'm a pretty fit guy, but I've noticed my weight drop a pretty good amount unfortunately due to the fact that I'm just working and never focusing on eating, but I'm trying to get better and improve myself every day. Been watching too many David Goggins videos lol now I'm just in a warrior minset. Thanks man!

It's important to work long hours at least to achieve our goals, but watch yourself closely and don't neglect any slight pain in your body. Most importantly, always take sugary drinks to boost your glucose level. Since these work requires lots of brain power. You can work shift, someone else can handle the programming aspect some hours while you take enough rest. It'll help fast thinking, and decision making. So that you can make the right decisions.
2244  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To Trustwallet users. Vulnerability. Repayment. on: April 23, 2023, 05:51:32 PM
I've also realized that users prefer storing money on exchanges because they feel most wallets are not secure too. And some wouldn't want to make use of hardware wallet for different reasons as lossing their keys or the hardware.
Isn't it quite comical to you that someone would be uncomfortable using a hardware wallet and an open source software wallet, but would be comfortable with storing their funds in exchanges, well i am not surprised, everyone wants to buy and hodl Bitcoin, but only a handful want to do their due dilligence to know the dos and don'ts.

They is a saying that; “what you don't know is bigger than you". We all know about hardware wallets and different kinds or types of wallets; cold and hot wallets etc and because we know these things we assume that the millions of people into the cryptocurrency market are aware of them too. I've had an argumet with a close business partner and he meant it eye ball to eye ball that blockchain.info is the best wallet and even the only wallet in the cryptocurrency market. And he draws the line because the name began with blockchain. I had to explain to him that they're other wallets like Electrum which are better than what he thinks is the best. A week later after doing his research he came back to me and testified that he was wrong. I understand the feeling but what you know, others don't know a tip of it. That's why when they make these mistakes they tend to leave the market because it seems complex to them.
2245  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To Trustwallet users. Vulnerability. Repayment. on: April 23, 2023, 02:15:02 PM
Trust wallet assures their users about securing their funds all the time, since they've failed this time, it's an obligation to reimburse all the affected people, to avoid the escalation of the wallet's vulnerability, it will affect their PR. Though trust wallet isn't a wallet to store a whooping amount of assets, people find it user friendly that's the reason I can see why lots of people recommended that wallet. I've also realized that users prefer storing money on exchanges because they feel most wallets are not secure too. And some wouldn't want to make use of hardware wallet for different reasons as lossing their keys or the hardware. To use cryptocurrency we must all be careful. Trust wallet has maintained the trust in the Brand's name on this issue.
2246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Changes in bitcoin usecase effects how people understand bitcoin on: April 22, 2023, 10:58:01 PM
I've been reading through the story inside the book "Tracers in the dark" and found on twitter that the Author was a forbes writer and once published, in 2011, an article about the future of bitcoin at 1$ . He had good views about bitcoin and his statements were right. Fast forward to 2020, his perspective about bitcoin has changed due to the usage of bitcoin, which people thought was untraceable and how it's now a vehicle to track down illegal business and child trafficking businesses, who use bitcoin to receive payments. In his story, I found some terms, peel chain which I didn't know, and found out it's a means of laundering cryptocurrency, and how chainanalysis reactor was able to trace people through the blockchain.

Initially before the dark web started utilizing bitcoin for illicit activities Andy Greenberg a wired blog writer, believed in bitcoin and passed down reasonable articles about bitcoin when he was with Forbes, when the use case began to change he didn't hesitate to tell the world the bad aspect of bitcoin and the amount of crimes lords or businesses that adopted bitcoin believing that it's untraceable.

Two sides to every story and my response to his stories

In a side he writes to unveil to the world how shallow the anonymity of bitcoin is, and the fact it's a bad actor to the society as people use bitcoin to commit crimes. On a second flip, if these illegal businesses are being tracked down with the help of blockchain network, why the blame on bitcoin? people who read his books may not use bitcoin because its usage, dark side, can scare them away. And as we all know, crime stories go longer ways in sales.

Isn't every money likely to be used by crime lords? he claims that the fiat transaction can easily make things easier for the Government to track down illicit businesses. A lot of things are being used to commit crime including the internet, cars, guns, bitcoin etc. Yet, the case of bitcoin is stressed a lot, is it because it's new or something else is attached to it? In conclusion, Crime is bad and people will always frown at whatever tool that helps or facilitates crime. A lot of people like this writer now think evil of bitcoin especially his readers and they forget easily the good use cases of bitcoin like he said in 2011 post.

I've assembled a group of talented individuals to help me build out these ideas. So far, things have gone well, but now we're at the funding stage.

Count yourself fortunate to have a group of talented individuals helping out as a team, see them as your first investors, they've gone through the building stage with you don't neglect them now that funding is essential to the growth of the project. It's commonsensical, most projects even the competitors you mentioned did similar things to stand their projects, CZ binance not exempted. Nobody throws money into a project they're not sure of, like you pointed too, because of the ICO era and scams. The team you've got can as well join you in the search for investors if they have no funds to invest on the project. I mean they should trust the project so much that they can invest money and time till it gets the attention you guys need.

Goodluck.

I've been dedicating 15+ hours a day to this project for some time now

Meanwhile how do you achieve this and does it have any repercussion to your health and your glucose level?
2248  Economy / Economics / Re: Pay your debt with monkeys! on: April 22, 2023, 10:37:28 AM

What will China do with the monkeys? Experiments is I think the main reason. I mean they have many laboratories in the country, and they will use every single monkey (probably) just to conduct their experiments. This is where I feel disgusted not only to Sri Lanka, but to China as well.

You are right, monkeys can be used to test vaccines, neurological disorders and for eye sights. Monkeys have lots of economical importants, the skin can also be used to produce clothing materials or gloves. I think China as an industrial country wouldn't find it difficult to discover their uses for such a huge amount of monkeys. However, the Sri Lanka is sending monkeys extinct from their environment, hence, it may have no much changes, but I know every animal has a task it does in any environment. Whatever is possible to escape Dept from China should not get neglected. Who knows the other side of the story, China must have demanded for different things before they agreed on taking monkeys.
2249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fall of crypto influencers. on: April 21, 2023, 06:05:48 PM
A good number of cryptocurrency influencers on YouTube are doing a great job, despite shilling shady projects using their platforms, they also pass down relevant news and information to their followers. People who don't know much about crypto will always become victims of these shaddy projects that the YouTubers Share on their channel, which is wrong to the cryptocurrency community. YouTubers like bitboy, last year, on his tiktok once made a prediction of the price of Bitcoin but it didn't happen rather the price of bitcoin dropped. Those who abided to his advise got disappointed and lost money too as they invested immediately after his Bitcoin bullish prediction. When investors fail to research, influencers takes the blame.
2250  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Risk of jail for developers. Should you be anonymous? on: April 20, 2023, 06:35:16 AM
These people should leave cryptocurrency developers alone. They are  trying to make the world a better place alone and instead they should go after those who they know are actually using bitcoin for various illegal purposes like money laundering financing terrorism etc. They know because they have their surveillance everywhere.

And yes, please developers should remain anonymous. Because they are easy targets for the security agencies, the Feds, the good, the bad and the ugly in the world. Besides, I have never seen a developer who doesn't hold their privacy and security in high esteem. One more thing for developers is to obey the laws and regulations binding cryptocurrency in any country so as to avoid legal and regulatory problems..

Regardless the fact what you say is true, but it is also impossible, at least the part of chasing criminals instead of chasing devs. Some of the biggest criminals are politicians, gnterprise groups CEOs, friends, family, etc. And these people are the ones making the rules and avoiding them when they don't serve them.

I agree that if I was a dev, I wanted to be anonymous, only know by aliases. But this is also very difficult, because you don't think of this at born time (so to speak), therefore, early in life you start handing out info about you everywhere by means of when your parents give you a smarphone, a console, a laptop, etc. And when the time comes, you realise that you need to be annonymous but it's late because your info is already everywhere.
Removing all your traces from the internet is quite difficult because many times, it forces you to change many aspects of life.

This is actually true, if they would attack the developers then much better they'll target the criminals that are surfing in the blockchain technology and crypto. As devs want to gain the trust of people they are putting their identity on public. Which is not actually good for them, it would be better red tagged criminal activities that are harmful for the community. But of course revealing those identity could led to even more worse scenarios. Such as hacking their IP address, threat and more worse crime. Which could be hard for them to escape those scenarios since people would always do something in the internet.

Not all good developers are good actors, it's another angle of this argument and I've gone through most responses and found that everyone thinks positive of every dev. Some of them develop the scam altcoins or project using the blockchain, which has lured investors to lose funds. Consequently, the good players also need to stay careful, because the security agencies think in weird ways once they're ordered to carry out a search spree on blockchain developers, out of what a bad player has committed using the network, maybe. So, I think that should be the foundation of this conversation, and only a few developer would go scot free since these law enforcement agencies employ literally top technicians from every department in the world to join their security agencies, it'll be easier to track down them developers. It takes a hacker to get a hacker. Except those who has stopped online activities, every developer who works online stand a risk of being caught, as I've realized recently, after the chipmixer scandal, that the FBI are well prepared tech wise, yet I believe some people, the few, can beat the system and still remain anonymous.
2251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happen to bitcoin builder? on: April 20, 2023, 06:07:18 AM

Sometimes I wonder if America has no technology that can trace the existence of Satoshi and friends or give us a clue what warrant this incredible ideology of building digital currency assets like bitcoin that has stirred different analysis of possible new money system.

What makes you think the FBI would inform anybody, if they had Satoshi in their blue zone? Although, no clue of him anywhere, because if he's been held hostage by any Governmental platform, we would have been seeing some changes in the network, because Satoshi is the creator he'll also know a way to jeopardize the network in some ways, not completely, if apprehended to do so. I think of Satoshi as a man who settled down as a teacher in a nursery school living his best life and engaging with nature. He is not interested in the wealth he's made and also his vision is yet to be completed; mining all the bitcoins. I don't think he makes use of the computer and on the second flip he could be very old and resting. No need to bother about him, what matters is that the blockchain network is moving without him being present. Just like the founder of cars, he doesn't need to be here to guide mechanics on how to fix cars.

2253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Online casino always take risks? on: April 19, 2023, 09:29:18 AM
Going through the thread, I found that alot of contributions has been made to remove Op's doubt. Still, they're multiple means to determine the legitimacy of an online casino, which this forum is also a better place to discover genuine online casinos. However, most of the members may not have been used by the entire forum users that's where casino review sites helps newbies or new users of a specific casino to know what actually happens in the casino before playing on the casino. You can check for user complaints too, anywhere even on the site or off the site. Casinomeister is also a better place to research for any online casino that you don't feel comfortable with the reviews you got from this forum.
2254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is $30 dollars worth starting bitcoin? on: April 19, 2023, 08:30:11 AM
For a start, they can invest the $30 to observe how the market works, then move ahead to put in more funds into their wallet. I don't see anything wrong if the person feels like $30 is a spare fund for him, it's fine, he won't be sad if he losses it all, so I'll recommend you to advise him to invest more if he feels that his $30 investment wasn't a waste.
2255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has a bad reputation (we should fix it) on: April 19, 2023, 08:21:32 AM
bitcoin doesn't have a bad reputation completely, it's a relief that those bad operators of bitcoin can get apprehended by security agencies. Like Pooya87, suggested it'll be difficult to have a currency that segregates criminals from genuine people. It was meant for victim to stay wise and be able to avoid scammers once they dictate them. If many bitcoin scam victims, which is also a bad reputation for Bitcoin, joined the forum or researched thoroughly about Bitcoin and what works and what doesn't work they wouldn't fall for some cheap scam threats. Once a person recommends a scam exchange to me I'll know immediately because it doesn't look real in the eye and also it's not popularly known in the market. And for the top brands in bitcoin that folds with lots of people's money, it's also a criterion to consider in the Bitcoin market, it has chased lots of investors away from the market. Hence, not everyone experience this hardship or disputes. That's why the market still grows, we need more people to understand the market, at least to reduce scam. But, for the illicit transaction going on the darkweb I don't think it can get terminated. Currency is used by both the good and bad.
2256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Number Of Bitcoin Millionaires Doubles In 2023 on: April 19, 2023, 07:45:00 AM
Maybe he just made it up to correct the OP kinda sarcastic reply. But looking into it, he could have mistaken billion to trillion, yet it's not achievable with the price rate of bitcoin mentioned on his comment.

It doesn't look as a sarcasm to me. And anyway, even if he wanted to say billion, his argument doesn't work either. A x2 does not turn a million into a billion, but into two million, as I explained before. All it would do is make his argument seem a little less crazy, of a lower order of magnitude, but it doesn't hold up anywhere.
It's under his jurisdiction to determine what he meant by that, not on his side, yet it's his opinion. You are right the digits there doesn't seem right in anyway, which is another reason why I tagged it sarcastic. It's rare to see such a number written out of pure auguement, as the writer should be away that his comment and digits are not feasible even without any mathematical knowledge or background.
2257  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Jumpstart Kits for Beginners to increase their privacy and decentralization on: April 19, 2023, 06:16:15 AM
A good tip Op, it's also important to go into an exchange like Kucoin, which I used in the past and stopped using them because of it's fee on BTC network. Kucoin accepts BTC segwit that is a wallet that starts with 'bc" and BTC form; a wallet address that starts with 3. And these two available networks has a network fee of $15 and minimum withdrawal of 0.0008btc and 0.001btc respectively, according to coinmarketcapfees. It's not advisable to use any other network except the btc networks, don't use the KCC network because the network fee is less "$0.6", you won't see your funds. It only supports 0x addresses; for ethereum network. Same is applicable to any exchange, only use the bitcoin network option to send funds. If you wish to escape high fees on Kucoin then you'll have to convert your funds to eth and use the KCC network and send to a metamask wallet where you can configure the wallet to support KCC network then look for a person that uses KCC network wallet or get a network bridge to transfer the funds back to a BTC network. If you can't pass through such process, for kucoin users, then you can pay the $15 network fee.
2258  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: You should write two copies of your seed phrase. on: April 18, 2023, 06:33:17 AM
You'd need to read it at least 20+ times before it starts to stick in your head.
Psychological pressure is enough for that, I remember that when there are remain five minutes to finish the exam, I forget all information.
It sounds funny, but that doesn't have to do with the pressure, it's called a the doorway effect, that there's every tendency a person will forget half of everything they've read once they pass through the door of an examination hall, compared to when they're in their reading room. It happens to almost every student, and humans will need to relax and think to remember what is been stored in the brain.

Also if you watch tiktok, the chances of you remembering 12 words drops significantly (no joke).
The world is losing brain powers from watching most of these contents for long time on the internet that's why many are afraid of the institution of AI. Many people are losing their brain easily these days.

Thank God, I have not download TikTok since it was Musical.ly.

Lol, you could count a few of your kind in the wide world.
2259  Other / Meta / Re: This gets me worried, I think the 'Brains' in the forum should look into it on: April 18, 2023, 06:05:53 AM
What matters in every written content is it's value not the grammatical syntax, rhymes, idioms etc. Those are for entertainment purposes to keep the reader, but if a content is valuable to the reader he doesn't care about the rhymes anymore, he focuses on the information he wants to get from the piece of writing. Most of the top writers in the past who made contents that changed the world and passed relevant information, check the contents now with the said grammarly, you'll see lots of errors; passive words, bad syntax, etc. Yet the contents are valuable due to the secrets and deep knowledge readers can grasp from reading them. Grammarly shouldn't be a tool for a good writer, he doesn't need it to make good articles, because grammarly makes mistakes too, it's a bot as well. So, in the forum if you are using grammarly it should be for typo purposes not to make your article look good or changing of your sentences, as the previous sentence you made yourself can be of good readability to the reader than the one grammarly suggests. What matters is the message you are about to convey to the forum, and I don't think chatGBT can be able to craft a valuable content which has not be posted anywhere on the internet, it has no brain and can't be compared to the brain of a new born baby.
2260  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Always hide your forum email address after registration. on: April 18, 2023, 04:54:20 AM
I once thought about a single advantage of unveiling our email address on our profile page, except that it's also linked to our account and used for forgot password activity, guest of the forum who can't send pm can easily contact a member through their emails for business purposes. Supposing that the forum is filled with only cool headed people both guests, that would have been a good alternative means of contacting people. Since the disadvantages as Op advised outweighs the advantage it's important to hide the email and substitute it with our social media links, a space is made available for that too.
