2241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: January 16, 2023, 11:02:47 AM
I lately heard from friend that he used ai to get opinion about his homework (assignment) at university. Well there are many different possibilities which we never used. I think AI may learn how to properly calculate outcomes of best and pick best outcome ever. That would change gambling totally like, gambling houses or sites will never completely surrender so they may offer you far less money than usual etc.

Again, AI should be connected to the internet to have an opportunity to predict future events with the accuracy you are talking about. ChatGPT is not connected to the internet. Moreover, its database is not even updated on monthly basis.

I tried to ask ChatGPT if it can predict the winner of an NBA game and this is what it said:
Quote
I am not able to predict the winner of NBA games because I am a language model trained on a large dataset of text and do not have access to real-time information about the games or the teams. Additionally, there are many factors that can affect the outcome of a game, such as injuries, team dynamics, and the performance of individual players, that are difficult to predict.

Fair enough. Good thing they have embedded this reply to the bot so that there already is a heads up when it comes to these questions. Its creators know that there will be people that will use the AI to predict certain events, so they already prevented that to happen by placing disclaimers about this non-feature on the AI.
~

I personally don't think that it was an "embedded reply". I believe that ChatGPT doesn't possess such things at all, and all its replies are genuinely generated by the AI. That's how it's different from what we call "bots".
2242  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to play poker with crypto ? on: January 15, 2023, 02:28:25 PM
...
Actually it's still a question to me whether Video poker is absolutely the same as slots, where you can't affect the outcome in any way. Like, for example, if you were always ignoring a good hand, like a full house or four of a kind, or even better, that were given to you, and were holding nothing, but were exchanging all the cards all the time, would the result after, say, 50 games, be the same as if you were holding the "good" cards? I read that skillful poker players have significantly higher odds of winning, but I'm not sure if that is the case in reality.

There are many different types of slots, to start from the number of reels and lines to the ones that have some special features. I said that video poker is  "something like a poker-themed slot machine"...

Compared to real poker, video poker is "something like a poker-themed slot machine". I totally agree with you on this one.

and basically it is. 5 reels, one line... with the first spin you decide which reels to hold for the next spin, and after that, you either have a hand or not (there are not many, but there are slots where you can hold the reels, but it costs extra). If you have a hand you can gamble for more and play hi & lo. Something that many slots have... feature to gamble with your winnings.

But in slots holding some reals is never free, isn't it? You have to pay something for holding those reals, and sometimes it's 10 times of your initial bet, so, I'm not sure if it's really the same or not.

From my experience, you can chase whatever you want but without luck (as in slots) you will not get anything! 50-100 hands without 3 of a kind, to not speak about something higher.

From my experience, it is easier to hit something higher in video poker than in real poker. For example, just recently there was a video poker challenge on one site, where you had to hit four of a kind faces, meaning that only kings, queens and jacks count, and many people, including me, succeeded in that. You play real poker, so you have an idea how unlikely it is there, right?

Simply you don't have many options in video poker, it's just hand after hand and you either hit something good or not. Like spinning slots...

It is very true, you don't have that many options in video poker, but still, if  you know at least basic rules and you know what cards is better to hold, you have better chances of winning than with spinning it like slots.
2243  Economy / Gambling / Re: What else should an established crypto casino add? on: January 15, 2023, 12:29:36 PM
~

This is true. I personally done this and play only on Duelbits for a long time while just visit only few casino to try out there bonus and promotion but still I keep coming back to Duelbits. The only thing that will make me switch my main casino is when account is become restricted on accessing the casino promotion which I’m experiencing right now for unexplained reason.

But it’s really true that long time player usually develops loyalty to the casino that they are using most of the time.

I just wanna say that normally we are loyal to not just one, but to several casinos, to like 5, or even 10, like it is in my case. And all of them can be attractive in different ways. You may like house games in some places. And in other placers you may play slots just because they accept crypto currencies you prefer. You can visit some platforms because of their promos, and other platforms because of the odds on sports betting. Also, some places you can't leave just because their chat box is fun and you have lots of pals in it, and of course you play a bit while you are there.

Definitely, it's not something that would be really looking like a big deal if you lose and if you win that's more than fun. I do the same thing, my highest ever bet on a game was $100 and that's unusual, many of them are like 10-20 dollars per bet, and that's why it would be quite important to keep it going like that as well.

I know not many people could end up with something this important at the long run, but that doesn't change the fact that it's something I would care about, it's definitely a big deal for me to win, but a lot more important to have fun, if I lost but had fun that's good too, rarely happens but it does happen and that's why I care about fun more than wins.

Yeah, I mean, your fun is also a win in a way. If you win money, you try to spend at least a part of it on having fun, right? And we all know that when you spend $100 on your entertainment, your satisfaction is not guaranteed. Let's be honest, it's rare when you are really getting what you expected from spending $100 on fun. But if you spend just $1 on sports betting and you win $100 from your multibet ... Well, name a person who won't be satisfied in that case. Smiley

Well, this should be an example for those people who, like me, did not believe in references, it is something that seems impressive to me that this system still works, I have often sinned in saying that these systems do not work because I have had experiences regarding it and I haven't done anything,

Same here. I've never had a cent transferred to my account thanks to my refs. But I heard stories. Once I saw with my own eyes like a guy won the top prize in the freebitco.in weekly lottery(big money, more than $2k USD), having only one ticket he got for a ref. Crazy story, right? But it happened.

but of course, it's because I had gotten referrals who only register and now, they don't bother to enter the page or do other things, other movements, or at least explore to see how they like it. Well, obviously when you tell people to make a deposit, it's unlikely they'll do so, even if they don't like to play, that's something else.

They also have to wager a lot for you to get something from it. I mean something bigger than a couple of cents.

With all that said about the refs above, I would add to the OP that one of the things the most rewarding crypto casino should have is a good referral program.

I just tried to play Video Poker on the site, and I don't think it's working properly.

Look, why was I given a 4x payout in this case?

or, again, 4x payout in this case

and, actually, there were many cases like these during my play.

^^Look. it doesn't make any sense, does it?

I hope, you are not allowing to withdraw from your site, or you'll be milked totally dry. Fast.

2247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can players bet on their own games on: January 15, 2023, 08:43:28 AM
Professional athletes and sports players weren't allowed to bet on them or upon the game they play. This is done to have them self control, because once they start placing bets on them, it'll be the beginning to play for his/her favour. Finally his game game will be much based on personal financial gain which is not good while representing a team or a country. For this reason professional players weren't allowed to make bets, but these days there are chances of professionals making bets using the anonymous betting opportunities.

I understand how you can play "in your favour", well, not in your favour, but rather for you to win money,  if you bet on your loss. And that is what I think should be strictly forbidden. But betting on your win, I wouldn't I wouldn't forbid it. I mean, every sportsman is betting on his/her win in a way, even they don't bet money on that, right?
2248  Economy / Gambling / Re: Researching for Upcoming Game on: January 14, 2023, 12:53:34 PM
~ But of course, a sharp increase in, for example, the size of winnings (on average), it is clear that there can be no question.  Otherwise, such a "brave" casino will immediately go bankrupt.

If in all games on the platform there will be bigger wins than anywhere, the casino will surely go bankrupt, but if it's only a couple of games, and you manage to deliver this info to many gamblers, they will register on your platform, and they will be coming back from time time even when the promo is over, and you will not go bankrupt, but on the contrary, it can be profitable for you overall.

2251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting strategy question on: January 14, 2023, 08:44:12 AM
... In such a case betting more than you can easily afford to lose is not a wise move.

Betting 100% of all you CAN afford to lose is probably not a wise move, given the 83% chance of a loss. I mean depending on how you define the amount you can afford to lose, I guess. Could mean a different thing to different people.

Indeed, it's a different thing for different people. For me personally it's around the amount of money I can earn in one day. Yes, it is still painful, losing the money you were working for for the whole day, but it's acceptable, it's not the end of the world, you know.

But that's about the money I can afford to lose without bad consequences. Talking about the money that I can easily afford to lose, than it's about a quarter of what I make per day, and that's what I would bet on the single die roll, you are asking in the OP.

a good gambler know when to stop
Setting a limit is very important in gambling, setting a lost limit will prevent you to over spend your money and setting a win limit is  also important because in the long run the house got a bigger chance to win due to the house edge ~

I agree that setting a lost limit is very important. From my experience, I often go over that limit, but still, if it's set, I usually don't spend much above it, definitely not more than I can afford to lose.

As for the win limit, I disagree. To be honest, I can't even imagine how that should work. Say, you won $1,000. Should you never gamble again, or should you just change the house(or, the platform)?

Have a read about data brokers. It is a multi-trillion dollar industry which most people don't even realize exists. Have a read of my thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5394338. A single data broker company known as Acxiom has 11,000 data points on 2.5 billion individuals.~

Thank you! This is an interesting information. Of course, I heard about something like that before, but the way it's explained in the Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is amazing, and it's definitely worth watching. The "middlemen of surveillance capitalism". F***ing hilarious! And a bit scary, I must say.
2254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Woman won $43million but was offered a steak dinner instead of her winnings on: January 11, 2023, 09:59:07 AM
~ Isn't this just the stupidest reason not to give her her winnings?
Couldn't they have known that their so-called machine was faulty before letting gamblers use it?
How could they do this to her?

I think it's obvious that she didn't win $43 million, and so the title of the article is clickbait. The maximum allowed to win on the slot machine she played is $6,500, so, it was a malfunction, and no one actually scammed the women.

However, the fact that she was offered only a steak dinner after having all that emotional distress shows how shitty that Resorts World Casino in Jamaica is. I would not recommend to step inside such places even once.
2255  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If war starting soon where is the safest locations on: January 11, 2023, 09:31:23 AM
The safest place would be an unknown and inhabited island,

Be ready for a supply/demand issue if you choose to take action on such a solution.

OR, if you are loaded with everything you need, be ready for the pirates to visit you. And not the romanticized clowns you can see in movies, but the real ones, dirty scumbags pissed off at the world because they are losers. They won't be smoking a pipe and drinking rum with you ... They will turn that "unknown and inhabited island" into hell.

Again, if there's a global war, you can't hide anywhere.
2256  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your biggest obstacle to achieving financial freedom ? on: January 11, 2023, 08:31:08 AM
The biggest obstacle is information.
Getting the right information on how to create wealth is important. Some people have the information and hoard it while some do not have information at all. Some are looking for information and some have information and do not know what to do with it.
Also some are given wrong information.
Information is Power and according to a popular saying "if you are not informed, you will be deformed".

Indeed, the lack of the right information is one of the main obstacles here. There are so many people connected to the internet these days that if we could know where we can apply our work and knowledge, who needs it right now, we would never be jobless. At the moment it's not that easy to find the right info, but, I'm sure, in the nearest future there will be apps for that that really work.

Gambling for Fun
Gambling for Entertainment

Both are different things but we do know the real purpose on why gambling had existed is because it is really just built for fun ~

Actually, I don't understand how are those things different? To me gambling for fun and gambling for entertainment is absolutely the same thing, and it differs only from gambling for profit.

I think in the old days most gamblers were aiming for a profit. When they were throwing that six-sided dice 5 thousand years ago, they weren't thinking like, "the probability of each outcome is the same". Rather, they were hoping that gods will be on their side and they will win. There are still such people, but they are the minority among gamblers today, I'm sure.

~ And for people with zero tickets it is especially important.

I support this too. A counter displaying the remaining number of bets (sats) to get a golden ticket in the hi-lo game would be a useful feature for many users. So I think if freebitcoin developers wish, they can easily implement such a feature because it shouldn't be a difficult task for them. By the way, if a user has a desire, he can write such a counter (script) himself using the console in a browser, although I'm not sure that would be a good idea because freebitcoin may interpret it as a violation of its rules.

I hope our requests for this counter will not be buried under other comments, and @wetsuit, @TheQuin or @freebitco.in PR will reply on whether it's possible to install it. I think such a counter would increase wagering on the site, because many of those that are mainly there for the faucet would try to wager 500,000 satoshi to have at least one Golden Ticket.
2259  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How pessimistic do you feel about the new year of 2023 ? on: January 10, 2023, 09:59:37 AM
I feel pessimistic for the world, just by the pure mathematics of fiat currency and the bogus political system. I am optimistic for myself and my circle though.

Well, that can be enough, actually. Being not big figures in politics we cannot affect the unfolding of events on a high level. It will go its own way, regardless of whether we are pessimistic or optimistic about it.

Thinking of yourself and your circle is more realistic, and can be more productive for you in the end, than contemplating about the world's problems.

I think that they have no interest to spend time playing low stakes oO but i believe you. The same time i never meet overskilled players in such tournaments.
As for me, you always have to play yourself to understand why it works and how it works. When you look videos you see what they do, but don`t understand why. May be i mistake, but i think that you need play by yourself to level up.

No, you are absolutely right, it goes without saying that practice is very important. What I meant was that you don't necessarily need to play with the best of the best to learn from them, you can watch how they play on YouTube. But, of course, as in any other field, theoretical knowledge is nothing without practice.

I personally think that playing in free-to-enter tournaments is bad for your knowledge of the game, but starting from a $1 buy-in you can get a good initial practice, and then move to a $10 buy-in, which is actually better.
