Ola's websites are there now too.

BTW, is Nxt only a currency? I don't think so
2244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BOUNTY] Announcements for Nxt (the first pure POS coin) on: December 21, 2013, 12:12:22 AM
The last deadline for the video and also the article is December 20th. If you are making one, let us know here ASAP!

Last deadline is dead in half of the world now, so here are my updates Smiley

Article:

Do you know Nxt?

You probably know Bitcoin (http://bitcoin.org/). This online currency was created a few years ago and it had many followers. Nxt (https://nextcoin.org/) is first of the second generation online cryptocurrencies. Nxt is brand new software that provides many cool features that Bitcoin didn't have. It also prevents of all bad things that Bitcoin came up with.

Decentralization
Nxt concentrates on decentralization. With Nxt you won't need to use online marketplaces, exchanges, forums and many other websites. Everything will be included in the application! You will use only Nxt app, so no government censorship or DDOS attacks can stop Nxt.
Nxt was created at the end of November 2013. First block, the Genesis block, was given to the early adopters. First holders are distributing NXT among more users. Currently more than 50 percent of Nxt (= 500 million NXT) have changed the owner.

No inflation
There is and will always be only 1 billion of NXT. You cannot use mining for increasing number of NXT. If you transfer some NXT, you pay a little fee. This fee goes back to the system as an interest for people that own NXT. The more NXT you have, the merrier NXT you get from fees. So the price of NXT won't be affected by miners!

Proof stake mining
Nxt is based on green pure proof of stake (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proof-of-stake) mining. You will never need fast processor or graphic cards to get more NXT. That's really a big difference of Bitcoin and it might save our planet too. Maybe.  The more coins you have, the more blocks you will generate, but the amount you get per block is dependent on the transaction fees included in the block. So everyone gets the same chance based upon the amount of coins they own. It's a linear relationship. You get the equal return on your investment.

Instant transactions
Nxt doesn't need millions of scripts, so it provides very fast transactions. You can send your NXT from the USA to China within seconds! It will also provide the system of instant transactions, if you pay a little more fee for transaction.

Colored coins
Would you like to exchange $ € ¥ with Bitcoins, Litecoins or NXT within seconds, without using any provider, exchange with high fees, banks? No problem! You can send colored coins (http://coloredcoins.org/) that represent stocks, smart properties, other currencies (such as dollars, pounds, yen, or euros), and even other cryptocurrencies (such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, or Namecoin).

Decentralized p2p exchanges
Centralized exchanges  Bitstamp (https://bitstamp.net/), Cryptsy (https://www.cryptsy.com/) or BTC-E (https://btc-e.com/) can be slow or DDOSed, you pay them huge fees and there is always possibility so it can be hacked or taken down by governments. That's why people are looking for decentralized p2p exchanges, where no provider (or hacker) can steal all of your money. Nxt buyers and sellers trade directly with each other! So there are no commissions, only small network fees.

Internal instant messaging
Do you have to login to the forums to communicate with the potential seller? Nxt will provide internal instant messaging with chosen aliases, so you can talk to with your customer/seller through the main application. Your alias can be redirected to your website, email or account number, so it can be another very useful function.

Decentralized DNS
Decentralized DNS (https://wiki.projectmeshnet.org/DNS) is another invention of NXT. Well, it is also used by Namecoin (http://namecoin.info/), but NXT has improved version. Why is it important? It's very useful for security and also prevents from cybersquatting and censorship. Centralized DNS address can record a lot of transfers and that is something that NXT doesn't want.
A basic version of Nxt will be released on 3rd January 2014. All features will be available in April. It will provide much more than only market with crypto-coins. Nxt will cause a new revolution not only for crypto currency, but for all online trades. It’s not just some currency, it’s Nxt. Nxt generation of cryptocurrency.

if at block 22000 100 people register their alias, 80 different and 20 people will ask for "sex", will it look like:

22001
- 80 people will get their different aliases
- 1 lucky guy gets "sex"?

In reading my reply, it sounds a bit dismissive (rude) so I want to expand a bit, since it was not intended to be. My original video should no longer be considered for the bounty as I intend on submitting a new video. I want to create a video that is informational, covers some basics and dispel's myths and rumors regarding NXT, but, I need some questions answered. I have done my fair amount of reading, but sometimes a simple conversation suffice's.

So if anyone has time to give me a brief breakdown and answer some questions, the resulting video will be much better and informative.

according to this statement lyynx is really preparing some other video and doesn't consider the original for the bounty.

There is a good news for Mac and other developers, I collected special Donation proposals I found anywhere and these could fit for Mac Developer:

Pouncer:
I pledge 1M for software dev (any project)   For ongoing projects in need of more funds

2X84:
I am willing to pledge 5-10k in cold hard cash to a developer fund as soon as my Chase sends me a check as they have closed my accounts (they aren't crypto-currency friendly.) This check should arrive in under 15 days.

Others are listed:

From Wiki:
To exchange cryptocoins right now, you have to sign up for an account on a centralized platform such as Cryptsy/BTC-E/Bter/etc, transfer coins to them and then pay them for transactions. This brings in a large concern: it’s possible that the exchange could just bail with everyone's deposits. This recently happened when the Sheep Marketplace did just that with 96,000 bitcoins. The developers of Nxt are developing a peer-peer exchange into the software to allow for decentralized trading which will eliminate this trust point. It will also eliminate trading fees! Obviously this is all still completely secure and anonymous as are current bitcoin transactions.

In last days I am trying to create useful lists of tasks and people... Orientation is really needed

1. Here is a topic about Nxt team with gdoc, where you can sign up to the team:
https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,793.0.html

2. Here is updated Todo list (short / long therm Priorities):
https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,17.msg6721.html#msg6721

- there are some updates from forums, from gdoc and also I added some entries by spying peercoin volunteers group Smiley

I think that if anyone wants to help with the project, he should start here

Ok so basically the more NXT you have the better your chance of winning the right to author the next block right? Its sort of like a lottery and every unit of currency is a ticket, or an entry into that lottery. do i have that right?

more Nxt - sooner win. But gained amount is also different - rich people get more than poor users...
2255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 19, 2013, 12:27:43 AM
nice NXT video!! i have embedded it on cryptocoincharts Wink

Cool video, except the 'built-in deflation' disadvantage of bitcoin, which may not be looked upon as disadvantage at all, but a feature, is also present in NXT, and even more so, because the money supply is stable, whereas in bitcoin it is slowly, but growing. So, I'd remove that disadvantage of bitcoin from the list. One of the good things about cryptos is that they don't allow for arbitrary 'printing' of them like fiat currencies do, and that is a big advantage. If someone wants an inflationary currency, they can just use fiat.

OK, I will remove that. If anyone has any other comments for my videos:

2257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 18, 2013, 01:17:51 AM
I'm thinking about creating a kind of fund to finance services related to NXT but not through giveaways but through no interest loans. It was said here that initial stakeholders are not active enough. Probably most of them (just like me) wanted to just earn some BTC of it. Don;t get me wrong - I'm a libertarian guy but like to have sth in my pocket also. As time passes I see more and more potential in NXT but this potential needs to be shown to wider publicity. There are many talented and creative people here who could use such fund for making sth extraordinary and all would profit from it in long term.
I can't say how to solve trust problem here and not proposing any specific conditions of loans. It's just a loose proposition of crating such fund. What do you think about it?

I think here is a good place where anyone can post what he would like to donate on:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgAGADgnQcrtdHRrV3V3Z1lzOXVEMWtqdElUaEtqV1E#gid=2

Now we have got there:

Kisa
I'm willing to donate 10000, maybe more, to support development and promotion.
mripper
I'll contribute 500k Nxt on that. I'm not a block founder, but highly agree with you.  I don't think it will be possible until Jan when source code is release, but if CFB develops messaging as a feature, I'll just give it to him!
newname
Mripper has pledged 500k and I pledge 270k to the first developer that creates a decentralized messaging system based on the brain network...
Pouncer
I pledge 1M for software dev (any project)
Pouncer
I pledge 500K for realtime help desk (tech support)
Hash
"500K for android client with simple functionality:
- unlock account / see balance
- send / receive transactions

Follow the link on the right for details."
2X84
I am willing to pledge 5-10k in cold hard cash to a developer fund as soon as my Chase sends me a check as they have closed my accounts (they aren't crypto-currency friendly.) This check should arrive in under 15 days.
buybitcoinscanada
I'd like to pledge another 250k on top of the current 500k pledge (total 750k Nxt), for a fully working, easy to use, secure and bug free android client.
