I was working on my car for a few hours, and you start a fan club for me? Cheesy

The restrictions sound good, but that should be applied forum-wide.
22442  Economy / Securities / Re: LoyceV's Legendary 10 Month 10 Person 10 Altcoin Investment Experiment: ROUND 2 on: July 17, 2018, 05:30:35 PM
Bitcointalk name: Spazzer
Altcoin I choose: Internet Node Token (INT)
Where to buy this altcoin: OKEx
How to store this altcoin: Metamask
I will pay 0.01 BTC once 10 people joined: yes
After 10 months, return my 10% to: 1HkPw9ysCQS9R4rLyoAhzZL4S1PXomQS8s

I would say keep the coins to ERC20 and just setup a Metamask. However, I like the NEO suggestion for obvious reasons Tongue
I think I'll draw the line at ERC20 tokens. I'm not familiar with Metamask and Ethereum tokens, and I kinda want to stay away from them. Anything that doesn't have it's own blockchain isn't a coin.
22443  Economy / Securities / Re: LoyceV's Legendary 10 Month 10 Person 10 Altcoin Investment Experiment: STARTED on: July 17, 2018, 05:08:53 PM
The "waiting list" was just people to be notified
I haven't done that yet. I'm behind on my updates.

Any spots left for the next round??
If any, count me in Smiley
I see you found my new thread already. I'll send a message to the remainder of my waiting list now.

22445  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Generate 12 word seed for hardware wallet on: July 17, 2018, 01:35:40 PM
The hardware wallet I want to purchase can only generate 24 by default. In my opinion the only way to be secure from seizure of your funds is to memorize the seed. With 12 words it's much easier. This is why I need to generate the 12 words.
I'm okay with 12 seed words, my Electrum uses that too. If you want to rely on remembering 12 words, you can just write down 12 out of 24 words, and remember the rest.

Just know you lose your funds if you forget the words or their order, and know this is NOT recommended.
22446  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: That's how you set up a campaign, well done LoyceV on: July 17, 2018, 11:32:40 AM
I want LoyceV to go 1 step further. Anyone who doesn't read his rules should get a red-tag immediately.
I won't do that. My red tags are reserved for people who really deserve it, I don't want my campaign threads to become some sort of Russian roulette.
This thread comes to mind.
22447  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] PlayBitcoinGames.com Signature Campaign | Copper/Member to Legendary on: July 17, 2018, 09:45:26 AM
Spreadsheet updated (please check your details) and thread archived.

4 spots left!
22448  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: That's how you set up a campaign, well done LoyceV on: July 17, 2018, 09:30:47 AM
Does this really belong in meta? Huh
Not really, but Reputation isn't the place either. I'm not sure where it should go, that's why I didn't report it.

Quote
But one thing, do you really need to have the merit requirement? There are some rare users who have good post history but haven't received enough merits. Merit should only be a requirement for rank. Yes, you have to go through every user's history, but isn't that what makes a campaign manager a true campaign manager?
The last time I did that, I closed the campaign for Members after 2 days:
From this post onwards, this campaign is closed for Member-accounts. I might reopen it later, once more mature accounts have joined. For now I see way too much farmed accounts join, those accounts only wake up to join a signature campaign.
Without the Merit system, I would simply not accept Members at all. With 95% spammers joining, it's just not worth the effort. Thanks to the Merit system, I can allow and reward some of the lower ranks who clearly deserve it.
But you're right, some rare users might be missed this way, but if their posts are good enough, Merit will find them eventually. And until then, they'll have other campaigns to choose from.

I don't follow bounties at all but I always thought that was for spamming other platforms.
Anytime you see a signature promoting an ICO, it's most likely a bounty campaign paying in "tokens" (created out of thin air).

This guy is a big spammer and should be blocked from using the forum.
You can Text me on whatsapp +91 9657746573
I want some serious deals.
This is my message from June 16 2017,
I still own this phone number.
This is a link to your profile, not to a post on the forum. This isn't proof of a posted phone number.
Then again, this is Bitcointalk, not Phonetalk, and a signed message is much more reliable.

But, the posting style is the same before and after the password change:
Posting quality was bad before:
That is for the reason that bitcoin is new as compared to others. Like if you are considering companies like unsilver and nestle and any other well-known multinational company, so brother they are operating since long time. We have been just started in 2009 and till 2016 this bitcoin wasn’t to be seen at any place. We can count these last two years for bitcoin as its growth. So it will take time.
And posting is bad after:
All we can do is to hope for the good and expecting a better market conditions as we are in danger zone these days it is actually the price which put us in fear but we should remember that it is a market favorable for long term so we should stay calm in the market like a duck and paddle like a crazy underneath. The market f our desire will come soon this year as the market low price is attracting people to invest.
It could just as well be an account that was sold a year ago, and the original owner is now trying to claim it back.
I'm not leaving red trust on this case, it doesn't smell right.
22450  Other / Meta / Re: Require a small amount of merit to become a Junior Member on: July 17, 2018, 05:44:46 AM
Perhaps something that some of the data gurus probably would love. Release the new account registrations data. This would allow pattern matching to bulk bot registrations.
A daily dump of all usernames would be a great help. Just 3 days ago, I've identified 874 likely bot accounts, out of the 11000 profiles I downloaded. Earlier, 227 of those were caught spamming and nuked already, yesterday they continued spamming with accounts that I identified already.

There are 2 problems though:
-I don't think Mods are willing to nuke accounts that didn't spam yet
-And even if they do, spambots will quickly change their pattern so that it can't be identified anymore.
22451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: HELP!Unplugged hard drive with bitcoin core 0.16.1 by mistake during transaction on: July 17, 2018, 05:33:07 AM
thanks, meanwhile the transaction is still with the ?... mmhmh I will give it some more time, odd though. i did set the "20 minutes" option.
Recommended fees are an estimate based on fees in the past. Most of the time it's enough.
If the number of transactions suddenly goes up, your transaction fee is too low and will confirm once there's more space available. Your transaction took 3.5 hours to confirm.
22452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: HELP!Unplugged hard drive with bitcoin core 0.16.1 by mistake during transaction on: July 16, 2018, 09:35:59 PM
Now, i have a backup of the wallet, although it was from from 1 or 2 transactions back, before i sent this very last one of about 30 minutes ago.

What is the best thing to do or did i really lose most of my coins?
0. Close Bitcoin Core
1. Rename (never delete!) your wallet.dat to wallet.dat.backup
2. Copy (keep your backup!) the backup wallet.dat to your Bitcoin Core directory
3. Start Bitcoin Core
22453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is there an operating system that syncs Bitcoin core the fastest? on: July 16, 2018, 07:58:52 PM
There is a network histogram in debug, and this seem to show that sync'ing works in bursts on my Windows machine.
The same thing happens on Linux. I guess my internet is faster than my hardware can verify blocks.
22454  Other / Meta / Re: New spam bot? [how do they do it?] on: July 16, 2018, 07:56:34 PM
Or if we could implement some kind of mass reporting to mods...
Just imagine, you could report all "good project" "good project sir" etc... posts with only a few clicks...
Spammers would scream and shout Smiley
Mods would scream too if that happens!

Bots spamming again !
I've checked a few, and as expected, they were on my previous long list.

22456  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: That's how you set up a campaign, well done LoyceV on: July 16, 2018, 07:01:09 PM
P.S @LoyceV Why haven't you included in the rule that only segwit addresses would be accepted? Isn't it a pain for you(higher fees) to pay to legacy addresses? I literally hate legacy addresses nowadays Tongue
I think Bitcoin stands for freedom, not restrictions. Therefore I accept any Bitcoin address.
Fees have been very low for most of this year. I expect to pay 1 sat/byte, and don't really care if the total comes to $0.03. If fees go up again, I might have to require native SegWit.

When it comes to "hating addresses", I dislike the SegWit starting with a 3. I'm okay with native addresses, I'm okay with real SegWit Bech32, but I don't like the "partial" solution of addresses that safe a bit on fee but not the maximum.
22457  Other / Meta / Re: Newbies are not the only issue on Bitcointalk! on: July 16, 2018, 06:47:09 PM
And as you can see....i always make lengthy posts!  Wink
Indeed Cheesy

Merit isn't on my agenda, if someone merits me i'm glad they enjoyed/appreciated my post or input. I don't need it for any other reason.
You're wrong here: you need Merit to distinguish yourself from the spammers. I've checked your posts, and you clearly aren't the reason Merit was introduced on the forum. Therefore, I think you shouldn't be restricted from ranking up by a lack of Merit. And for that reason I've merited some of your posts.

-Lastly the "actual concern from a member with 56 activity" REALLY? You bought Bitcoin before me so my opinion is irrelevant?  Cheesy
I appreciate a Newbie who earned some Merit more than a Legendary who, almost 6 months after Merit was introduced, is still stuck at exactly 1000 Merit. Use this at your advantage.

As for the "lengthy posts" part: if you already know this, you can work on it. Read your posts again before posting, and delete whatever isn't really needed. Condensing information makes it more likely to be read.
22458  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: That's how you set up a campaign, well done LoyceV on: July 16, 2018, 06:19:02 PM
I particularly like the rule of not posting in spam mega threads
To be fair, I got this idea from:
6. Posts in spam megathreads (based on my opinion

One thing I would question is how you go about judging what threads those are--yes, I know one when I see it, but others might not.  It's very subjective, and I bet if you start rejecting posts that you're going to get a lot of complaints.
It's subjective indeed, but easily solved: the campaign manager has a final say in it.

Quote
More campaigns should be this tough, because this is the best way to combat spam.  I think only the best posters should be rewarded with the chance to earn money here.  It's gotten way too easy, and we're all seeing the result of that.  Props, LoyceV.
Thanks! I learned a lot from my giveaway campaigns. I also learned hardly anybody ever reads the rules Sad

Being tough is one thing, but it requires a high paying campaign to make it less work. This requires a high advertising budget. If it's too low, good posters will leave the moment they find a better deal. If it's high, the manager only has to select good posters once, and they'll stay for a long time.
This campaign isn't the highest, but not bad either. I hope I've partially solved it by paying monthly instead of weekly.
22459  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: That's how you set up a campaign, well done LoyceV on: July 16, 2018, 06:05:04 PM
The another thing I would like to suggest is better to check wether the applicant has been involved in some kind of Merit abuse scenarios previously before your approval
When I say "earned merit" I really mean "earned merit". That indeed requires manual checking. That's why I ask for a link to the full merit history.

Example:
Bitcointalk Username:  Green547
Bitcointalk Rank:  Full Member
Full Merit history: http://loycevsbasement.privatedns.org/Merit/history/1188895.html
Number of Posts: 322
Bitcoin Address:  1MK4Pkf7LhxNsgNxwHXFZtHj6jvW15qCpD
You have received suspiciously large amounts of Merit for posts that aren't worth it. I don't count that as "earned" Merit. Ending up on exactly enough Merit to become a Full Member an hour before applying doesn't help your case. Rejected.
I'm pretty sure this reputation thread was created based on my post.
