~~~ Yeah you can sort of emulate Windows under Linux and play, but the performance is terribly bad compared to the real thing.
that's right. it is going to be a pain in the ass to do so. also you can create a virtual machine (i like virtualbox) and create a windows inside that, but you will need a somewhat powerfull pc!
you can also design a website or weblog if you can to sell it yourself and advertise it. anyway i think it would be a good idea if you introduce/advertise it on reddit too.
~~ My Idea. It would be great, if there would exist a platform that would calculate which is the best exchange to buy bitcoins and would directly deposit FIAT money to that exchange (with possibility of withdrawing and then depositing to another exchange).
What do you think?
i think it is a good idea, but such services will never be free, so in the end you might not be able to profit from this method. besides depositing fiat in an exchanger to do all this might be a hassle if you want to do it from another country
Why do people send coins to that address? I remember a user who thinks Bitcoin will fail, he said he sent all coins to one of those addresses from mining in 2011.
yeah, that is pretty weird and stupid in my opinion. why would someone destroy something that can be stored with no problem and "might" be worth something sometime. besides if i want to do something like this i would do a giveaway not throw away!
|
|
What is green address anyway? Never heard about that before
here is the its official thread on bitcoin talk : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=521988.0since the sourcecodes of this wallet is available on github you can review them and see if there are any shenanigans going on in the background
A place where you can give your bitcoins and earn savings or take out loans or whatever the other banks do really , just simply a bitcoin bank?
this will defeated the main purpose of bitcoin which is being decentralization. there is no place where you can trust with your BTC and they give you profit. just exchange it to fiat and put it in a bank and get profit and loans that way.
Best way for me to mine on this GPU? I'm a newbie and i dont want to inject any funds into hardware until i get a feel for mining with what i have now.
mining with GPU is no longer an option in bitcoin mining, since the difficulty has gone up it can not be done. if you are so interested in mining with your GPU you can look into mining altcoins, but do your research to find a suitable one.
Blockchain.info is very easy to use for noob like me.. and the fee is not high just 10k satoshi
the amount of fee is dependent on the amount you're sending. The bigger the amount, the higher the fee.. even if its Blockchain.info the amount of fee has nothing to do with "the amount" of bitcoin you are sending it is related to "the size" of transactions, and the bigger the size the higher the fee. and it is calculated automatically in every wallet client i have seen so far
|
|
|
you cannot spend unconfirmed transactions at all. if you want to send your funds without the unconfirmed transactions it think you have to use coin control in bitcoin-core to send only the confirmed coins
i only hope by attracting more liquid trading as the article suggested, smooth bitcoin’s notoriously volatile price and thus make the digital currency more appealing for online payments and value transfers.
|
|
|
i don't know if it is related to the recent increasing of price or what but i think it is not all irrelevant to it. anyways i am glad the price started to climb again
|
|
|
i think it will reach the $1000 mark again but not so soon though. i think it is going to take at least one more year to reach this price height and it is going to get there gradually.
...I have bought few coins at $500 and still think that was good investment...
Given that you've lost half of your money, I think you're wrong. Most folks like their investments to appreciate, rather than, you know, the other way around. But I allow for cultural differences and diversity and stuff, I don't judge. So if goal was to lose half of your money, it was a perfect investment. Because in that case you couldn't have done much better--you did lose half. Like you wanted to. So in that case, please disregard & accept my heartfelt apologies. Bitcoin is long term investment mate, only idiots dream of getting rich in matter of days and investing few thousands bucks. There is always a sense of regret - Damn, I should have invested at $200 instead of $300. that is the human nature bro ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . if you buy at $200 and it goes to $199 you regret buying in the first place and if you buy at $200 and it goes to $201 you regret not investing more. greed is good ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)
Obviously there's nothing to lose. With the euro situation which is already getting bad as days go by, switching to bitcoin means at least there is still some hope left. I would rather diversify investment portfolio to different areas rather than continue to hold on to fiat.
Just for the sake of being precise, there is some risk involved in Bitcoin, too. In a not improbable scenario, when Bitcoin is substituted with Bitcoin 2.0 (or any new altcoin that rises to dominance) someone holding and forgetting about bitcoins, may lose it all. If altcoin replaces bitcoin, it is then a fact that another altcoin will replace that altcoin, if u get me. I doubt an altcoin would ever replace it. The only thing that might come close is Ethereum. But even that will never replace bitcoin. nothing will ever, never ever replace bircoin in our lifetime. if bitcoin fails the world (the world of bitcoin users) will go into depression and everyone will simply leave the whole cryptocurrency and never look back
wow you really must be an skeleton right now. especcially if you have bought BTC at the price of $740. it was a huge bubble at that time. but it is going to reach $300 soon though. no worries
We are literally going toward the moon now .Bitcoin at 260 on stamp. lets hope to see a 300 later today ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) hmmm. it currently looks good especially at 260 dollars. but i seriously doubt it if it is going to the moon $300 for today it needs more time than that to go that far up in price my friend.
So I'm thinking about getting into bitcoin trading and stuff, and I plan to begin storing my first bitcoins soon. I've read for this sense it is much safer to have Linux than for example Windows (as it is for a lot of other aspects aswell). Do you think is this really a thing to consider? Do I need to have tons of bitcoins before I get concerned about their safety? Should I consider switching to Linux if I'm storing just a few of them, or is it stupid?
Thanks erry'one in advance.
you don't need to switch to linux just because of bitcoin, there are other ways for securing your bitcoin like paper wallet or like thisbut linux is more secure and if you are willing to migrate from "familiar" windows to a new environment then go for it, especially if the programs that you use day by day have also linux versions The problem is if you like videogames. I do and I also tend to use audio programs for music making. So If I want to use Linux I have to shut down and boot under Linux. Going through Win to Linux just for Bitcoin isnt worth it for me. yes, exactly. this is my problem too. that is why i said "the programs that you use day by day have also linux versions". well videogames are a big part of it. but mostly some professional programs do not have any linux version and so a peroson who uses them on daily basis will encounter problems p.s. i am not sure but i think there are ways to run there apps in linux too
Faucets are useless now ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) faucets are only good for two groups of people: first for anyone who just started using bitcoin and just want to test things second for people who can get a lot of referrals so every visit of them will cost more than mere 100 satoshi
well i think it was time for a post like this. it is funny though to see something like this rather than seeing "do girls use bitcoin!" which i saw a lot of in this forum and other places also. nicely trolled bro ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
