@ CfB.....would it be advantageous to use Ripple as an actually IOU gateway to the Nxt Asset Exchange?

Edit: Mainly for Fiat....USD,EURO,YEN...etc.....if the Gateway is Quasi-decentralized then it removes a weakness that a normal issuing Gateway would have?
2262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 06, 2014, 08:21:56 AM
@ CfB....did you send that Exchange guy the coins he need for testing?

Yes

Did he mention by when we will know his decision.

Very smart move coz they will have much faster something to come up with than NXT. I told you all before, till now and 3 months NXT has nothing becausse one amateur programmer needs to go on vacation and works on the client when he got the time for it.
And as he told he will only have a first test in march, by than there are three or four clones that fill that market gap eating all the revenue and game over for NXT.
Another writing on the wall is an article I have read about some one claiming being the third in command in the hierarchy and spokesman for NXT. Was'nt NXT decentralized?

Point No.1) Source was released as planned 3 days ago...Major client release in ~4 weeks....streamlined Windows client released in 3 days.

Point No. 2) Please read 8-10 pages back for your answer

EDIT: New Competitors will also be subjected to the Laws of Market Physics....everything looks rosy now but they will have to survive in a very very harsh environment...Nxt is alive and growing.
2265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt source code flaw reports on: January 05, 2014, 08:41:45 PM
The published code contains 3 flaws to find more bugs and to prevent copycats from copying NXT to early, right?
But why does it prevent them from copying? Could the flaws being used to "destroy" a copied NXT system?

The fatal flaw will bring a copy-coin to death within a day.

What if someone find this fatal flaw but doesn;t say anything?  and keeps it secret.

Edit: And builds a copy-coin....can he still defend the copycat with his knowledge?

I don;t feel good asking this question

Well, we still have a critical and a serious flaws. Smiley

I don;t think the flaws should be published....for at least 3 years

I'm not the spokesperson / manager, but who cares...

All Nxt stakeholders are spokespersons, managers & ambassadors.

Even the Nxter who own's just 1 Nxt.

Come on people stop with the fighting.

You can't deny that Dgex was cruicial at a point in time. He made a big contribution. On the other hand he also made some detrimental moves, bla bla we've been over this.

I don't like the tone of the discussion for the last couple of days - infighting will bring divide and who knows where this will lead but have in mind the future good of all.

+10

Another important change is that the new software will not use standard domain names. Instead, it will use its own fake DNS system that will link the site’s name to a unique and verified public key. For example, within the application bt://mysite.p2p/ will load 929548249111abadfjab29347282374.p2p.

“Site owners will be able to register their own names, which will serve as an alias for the curve25519 pub-key that will identify the site,” the Pirate Bay insider notes.

Should someone tell them about NXT? Wink

we gotta be careful here....we don;t want to incur the wrath of certain institutions that break laws on a daily basis....Nxt is still a baby.

Do you think they can do it better than us?
Well, they use same curve, same approach, may be nxt devs take something from them instead?  Roll Eyes

Won;t they still need to use browsers?

I agree with taking precautions on preventing darkNXT, however, I disagree on solution to sending to genesis account.  A community fund is still too centralized.  I think that any nxt sent to genesis account should be put in the next block fee.  And the account that sent the nxt to genesis account would be prohibited from forging that particular block.  This would discourage anyone from sending to genesis account, if that is our goal.

On darkNXT, there is no real solutions.  Any government or corporation could buy the majority of Nxt and just sit on it, and that would essentially limit commerce.  The only solution would be to increase divisibles, so that even with 100 Nxt, the currency would survive..

even if an entity has 90% of the coins....he still can;t kill NXT because of TRANSPARENT MINING....this is the true strength of NXT....TRULY OUR BCNext is a GENIUS.
2273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 05, 2014, 07:19:07 PM
@James

I would only accept Gold for my NXT.

I would love this solution if they offered us 10 billion in GOLD....then BCNext could make a crypto-coin into a true RESERVE CURRENCY....NXT backed by gold...not even the US dollar is backed by gold anymore.

Now that Dgex is fucked up again.. where to trade Nxt?

Nxtchg.com

But not big trades.
2275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TNG - Bitcoin Reimagined on: January 05, 2014, 01:09:39 PM
So at this moment you have nothing.  Huh

He has name. This is very important.

Yes....how did I miss that  Cheesy
2276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TNG - Bitcoin Reimagined on: January 05, 2014, 12:53:30 PM
Please call it another name, not TNG. Useless or ugly one

Well any suggestions on a name?

Right now, it isn't even a coin yet.

First there's a specification that needs to be put together.

Then there's a brand new implementation.

The idea however is to be able to build a platform for rapid experimentation of new coin features.

These potentially can indeed spawn out new coins.

There is a $20,000 bounty for the mini-block chain implementation, so possibly this could implement that and receive the bounty.

So at this moment you have nothing.  Huh

Hm.. crypto_girl sent me 1 nxt today, and by looking at his/her account though the block chain explorer she is sending 1 nxt to high volume accounts.
http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=3000&acc=2176239447854173275&offset=1&filter=1
I can't imagine this being benevolence on her part.

I feel like moving my money to another account, and stop forging all together. Can someone comment on the security on this matter?

Check out this account's Aliases:
http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=4000&acc=2176239447854173275

it's just a form of begging I guess Smiley

NICE Alias setup...new way to communication using Alias & block chain explorer....you could tell a sorry if you had enough Nxt....especially once the fees do down... Grin

Edit:
Feature...Anonymous Classified ads/Billboards reached thru the block explorer...9 chr for 1nxt.....90 chr -- 9 nxt,  etc.....The billboard/classified add post is linked to account Number......seach the account No. on the blockchain and the billboard/classified page pops up.

feedback welcomed  Smiley
