how about NULL'ing the fields instead of DELETE?
When I need to lock some cheater account I do exactly as you said - set NULL password, which makes impossible to ever use this account.

i ment in in relation to deleting your account, therefore ppl can "delete" their accounts.
2262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: October 22, 2012, 01:12:35 PM
The receiver_0.csv, receiver_1.csv etc etc files need to be in your "current directory" when you run the program, or you can pre-place them in ~/.devcoin/receiver/ directory which is where it will put them once it finds them.

The problem is that one of the three sites it tries to download early files from went offline, so there is no longer an odd number of sites for it to download them from to check that a majority of them agree as to the contents of the files.

I packaged all the old receiver files along with the program precisely to fix this. So just run initially from right there where those files are and it will find them and such them in to where it wants them.

ty works now Smiley

im getting spammed with the following message while downloading the blockchain:

Code:
Number of pages in getCommonOutputByText: 3
Insufficient identical pages in getCommonOutputByText.
Could not get the page: http://www.perth-exchange.org/receiver_1.csv
Response returned with status code 404

am only i affected by this?

EDIT:
now im getting this:

Code:
Number of pages in getCommonOutputByText: 3
Insufficient identical pages in getCommonOutputByText.
Warning, writeFileText in receiver.h won't write the file:
/home/k1773r/.devcoin/receiver/receiver_1.csv
because the text is blank.
No coin addresses were found, there may be something wrong with the receiver_x.csv files.
Could not get the page: http://www.perth-exchange.org/receiver_1.csv
Response returned with status code 404

EDIT2:
just got stuck at 3999 blocks, there is also a note "WARNING: Displayed transactions may not be correct!  You may need to upgrade, or other nodes may need to upgrade." but i do have the latest version from SF (first post).

How can you tell?
Because they are using my public node and I can see their graph.

http://p2pool.stitthappens.com:8336/static/graphs.html?Day

Also, my miner is also getting a rather high reject rate.  I haven't changed my miner settings at all and I'm running the latest bitcoind and p2pool.  My reject used to be <3% and now its ~6%
mine went up from 2% to 6-12%

How is your child pr0n market going?
This is really reprehensible.

For those who are missing the context— goat was running some secretive business that looked like it was either a HYIP front or a money laundering operation that was attracting a lot of miners with its wild returns (it was subsequently shut down after a lot of people started asking questions; and his primary competition has more recently vanished with a bunch of people's funds).  I was concerned that people were joining in eager for the BIG MONEY without being aware of the risks in whatever they were getting involved in. I tried to get some confidence in private that what he was doing wasn't going to result in a bunch of overly credulous bitcoiners getting ripped off or arrested but Goat did not respond.

I posted in public basically outlining the risks— e.g. that people receiving funds from him should be asking sharp questions about the origins of the money because if the funds were being laundered for child porn, arms, or drug deals law enforcement may be knocking at the door of the people receiving the funds. Goat's response was to put up a _bounty_ of several hundred BTC for someone to fabricate evidence of me being involved in these activities.   Is this the kind of person you want to do business with?

He removed the bounty after I started inquiring about collecting it myself— after I'd started on fabricating some evidence too. Sad Bummer.

Apparently some other forum moderator was already investigating him because someone with a very similar name to Goat's business had been trying to sell Thailand sourced child porn on the forums. I wasn't aware of this but I guess my inquiry struck a nerve. Goat also put up a similar bounty about the moderator investigating this, though I believe it was closed as just a coincidence.

In any case, any time we interact he's sure to spread these BS rumors, I don't mind too much because it just makes another example of what a despicable person he is and why no one should do any business with him.
just use the "ignore" link Tongue

Have another few questions here, how can I remove my account if I wanted to?
Is there a way to set a "referred by" after the account was created?
1. It is not possible in any way! SQL statement "DELETE", executed on the users table, will break foreign key integrity and corrupt database. I can only disable accounts (i.e. make impossible to login).
2. It is possible to set referrer field empty, but not to set arbitrary user as your referrer (due to high risk of abuse).
how about NULL'ing the fields instead of DELETE?

greetings

Are you going to switch to LTC, PPCoin, etc... or just cash out your hardware by selling on ebay or similar?

Non of the above.  I'll solo mine full time as soon as it isn't profitable to pool mine anymore.
Sam
why solo mine? just join p2pool Smiley

rofl, are you insane?  If nobody ever wrote a Linux driver for XXX sound card then your sound doesn't work.  If there is no driver in existence for a network card, it will not work in Linux.  That's human error?  Rofl, okay, I guess it's human error that no human wrote a driver for it  Grin

Btw, this entire post is a joke.  Who's dumb enough to fall for this?  With mining difficulty going through the roof and the price of BTC falling, someone wants to pay 1.5x for shares of someone else's miner as opposed to simply buying bitcoins for cheaper overall with that money?  That stands about a 99% chance of being a scam.  There is no logical reason to buy shares for 1.5x.
If there is really no driver (which mostly isnt), you just have to submit a bug report on the specifiec project and wait a week-month, if you want to speed it up, do it urself, this isnt hard! well, aslong ur a developer Wink
"I guess it's human error that no human wrote a driver for it  Grin" <-- correct! Cheesy
btw, sound card drivers are really easy ones. in 95% of all cases u dont use exotic hardware and therefore a driver exists, 3-4% u have to search for a driver and do stuff manually and 1-2% there is no driver (or no stable driver yet) and u have to do it on ur own and afterwards submit ur work so there is a driver Wink thats how OSS works.

i totally agree with you about the scam part Wink

something like: total hashrate,
At present this is printed when a share is submitted. I could add an option so that it is printed every N seconds instead.

running time,
I'm curious... what for?

server ip/port,
I don't think that would make sense, since it's the user himself who supplies the information. It does make sense in cgminer as cgminer can handle multiple providers.

blocks found (if any) etc.
Could be done, but wouldn't it be a bit useless?

1. already implimented if you dont use the quiet option.
2. same
3. same
4. you cant distinguish a 1dif share on a pool with a real, therefore it would be inaccurate at all.

bitcoin-miner.exe is no installer!

is it me or we are talking about different things ... from OP I can download only ufasoft_coin_0.36.exe which IS an installer.

i`ll refrain myself from using your miner for now.

cheers
i cant talk about this one, u have to wait for ufasoft to answer Wink

my definition of portable software doesn`t involve any installer.

actually, why do you use one ?

sorry, but I don`t see the portable windows version
winblows works fine without any additional dlls. so its portable already

any change for a portable version (no installer) ?
take a look at first post or my signature.
2278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [LTC] An (even more) optimized version of cpuminer on: October 20, 2012, 07:16:06 PM
Adding curses to the miner will make it seem more like cgminer and I don't think he wants to make "another" cgminer.
libcurses isnt an invention of cgminer!
Yes, it isn't. But it utilizes it, and since cgminer is based on cpuminer from which this cpuminer is based. He might think it will become a "cgminer". Of course, I do not represent his wishes or anything. Whatever he decides, is his own choice.
so? just because a old fork uses a library dosnt mean another fork cant use it?

I found a bug in the block processing this morning... a wayward comma in some very rarely used code was causing the processing to fail and get backed up.  Unfortunately, the specific share information for each block was lost due to it.  The only thing this means is that all the affected blocks are listed as 0 shares and they have no information on who found the block. Everyone is basically paid as if the blocks are super short blocks, so you haven't lost any payments.  You'll notice your payment column basically has the same amount for each block as the previous block...

I apologize for this problem and it shouldn't happen in the future.  It was triggered by a change I made yesterday that sent it down the path of this rarely used code and things started getting backed up after I went to bed.  All stats should be correct now and only 5 blocks were affected, but the good news is our luck isn't nearly as bad as it appeared a few hours ago Smiley

wow that was fast, just saw it and wanted to report to you Tongue well done and dont be upset, your doing perfect Wink
