i highly doubt if you can earn anything at all mining BTC with your CPU or GPU. you have better luck mining altcoin that way.

Seeing all the replies I think I should start with trading avoiding all gambling, mining etc. That will be great to start with  its not about avoiding gambling. just you have to keep in mind that gambling is not an investment. this is a wrong thought that is becoming common between users that gambling is an investment and you are supposed to profit from it. NO it is for fun and spending money. |

With the BTC slump cloud mining is mostly dead. There is a new breed of cloud mining websites popping up these days but you need to be careful. I just received my invite for DigitalX Mintsy beta yesterday, I signed up when it was first announced on Cryptsy but that was ages ago when BTC was still above $500. I haven't decided whether to invest, they've got 100 GH sha-256 3 months contracts for $59, also 10 MH scrypt 3 months contracts from the same. They're definitely legit and you can use your hashes to mine any coin you want from any pool. There is no maintenance/power or any other extras fees which is cool.
how is it possible to have no maintenance fee? are they running on free electricity with free equipment? honestly it sounds suspicious to me. |

as long as your btc are in a cold storage, malware/trojan cannot do anything
otherwise dedicate a network and a desktop exclusively to your bitcoin client, and don't surf or DL nothing on that machine, 100% safe, unless a real thief enter your house, but that's another story....
There is no need to dedicate a whole computer for that, you can much more easily create a virtual machine with all your wallets and rest of stuff u need to protect and store it on a usb drive. Would make much more sence than having a separate computer just to hold your wallet on it. cheers virtual machine share the same network, it won't be 100% safe, i read that there are exploit to by pass virtual machine protection, strong malware/virus can do it the point is to have a completely separate network not necessarily. you can easily not define any network for the virtual machine so that it works as a computer with only minimum requrements like CPU, CD, and HDD and nothing more. |

steps:

many people believe that bitcoin should replace paypal, and we should be able to do all our purchases with bitcoin but i think the chargeback feature of paypal is sometimes a necessity.

THat does look promising and perfect for having the faucet set to send directly to XAPO. But doesn't that require you to create a new XAPO account ? Or does it allow to deposit to existing ones as well ? no, you don't need to create a new Xapo wallet. you just have to enter your Email address which you used when creating your Xapo wallet. |

in my experience if a faucet or any other service's withdrawal limit is that high, there is a very high chance that they are trying to scam people. the common withdrawal limit is ~0.00005500 BTC |

i suggest you do some research about trading altcoins with your bitcoin. BUT if you want to jump in without enough information and knowledge you will surely lose more money than you earn. but if learn the ways, the earning is good.
EVen the "pros" that claim to "Beat" the altcoin markets either only do it by manipulating the market or the flat out lie about their results. The problem is that there is so much variance and people are really bad in distingushing results into skill and variance. while i agree whit what you are saying. i think it is not impossible to gain profit from altcoin market. i have been learning in past 2 months and i gotta say it is possible to take at least 30-50% from every trade |
