So I decided to push the six 1070's

Slot 1
msi 1070 itx -----------100 watts

slot 2
evga 1070 hybrid -----120 watts

slot 3
egva  1070 hybrid ----120,watts

slot 4
msi    1070 seahawk--120 watts

slot 5
 empty

slot 6
evga  1070 founders---111 watts

slot 7
empty

slot 8
evga 1070 founders---111 watts

cards ----------- 681 watts
rest of system-- 29  watts
total ------------710 watts 6 cards  2525 sols

I am using this psu corsair    rm1000x

may be the best priced one that can do 8 down clocked 1070s

logically you would set at

1- 90  msi itx

2-110 evga hybrid
3-110 evga hybrid
4-110 evga hybrid
5-110 msi seahawk
6-110 msi seahawk

7-  90  evga founders
8-  90  evga founders

this would be 820 for gpus and 30 for system total 850 watts  at about 3200 sols

22782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 01, 2017, 06:31:09 PM
I can order 10 for :

1180 boards
  174 shipping
    68 paypal fee
     41 Alibaba ins fee

1463       so 147 a board to my house in New Jersey ,USA

so I mark it up to 155 plus shipping at cost to USA  say 175 a board.

Any one want it?  I need to get 10 .  No rush to pay

which board is it youre referring to? the one that needs a cpu/sodimm and has 8 slots? i may be interested in one.

To all...I will be offering an open air frame for this board and possibly an enclosed case (if there is enough interest).  Please PM me if your are interested in either.

I am placing the order for ten tonight.  I will send a board to you.

to all it is this board.
I will lay out for the 10 boards  and do  not expect any coin until they are in hand

22783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 01, 2017, 05:07:33 PM
Do you think it has to do with insufficient power being supplied to the PSU or driver issue with the board?
It sounds like the PSU is being overdrawn and shutting itself down for protection.

this is my conclusion

I have the H110 -- you need to power both molex on the mobo to make it work stable.

I can get away without the molex powered if I run XMR but once you mine ZEC or ETH, you need the extra juice and both 4-pin molex needs to be powered.

With all 13 x GPUs  (GA and Sapphire RX 470s)

Scenario 1: XMR - 1 Delta 2400w and PICO kit (consuming 1000-1200watts)

Scenario 2: ZEC and ETH - 1 Delta for all the risers and GPUs, and 1 x ATX PSU to power mobo and the 2 damn 4-pin molex (1600-1700watts)

You use 2 different molex wires or one molex wire with 2 of its 4 connections?

Since my ATX PSU is used only for the mobo, I use 2 x cables to power each molex just to be on safe side. I dont trust these 4pins molex.

My PCIE cables are custom made to power the RX470 and riser together - the RX470 rom modded so that single cable will not exceed threshold.
Can anyone explain the red LED to me?

This is the card for reference (Asus 1080 TI turbo blower) http://amzn.to/2xIvsbQ

I have exactly the same behavior at one of my 1080ti rig... I still don't know why 3 cards from 6 are with the LEDs blinking white (I have 1080ti Aorus), although the cards are mining with no issue. The rig has 2 PSU and 2 cards connected to one + 1 card connected to the second PSU shows this behavior.... Does your cards are mining?

It is a power stability issue.

see if you can read each cable with a meter.  my guess is the two jacks in have like 11.9 and 12.3  so the card is letting you know that.  just a guess.

avalon will release a

14th 1300 watt model

about 1400-1500 usd

Maybe on my birthday in late Jan

Am I the only one with info on this?

If true this would be a little better then the s-9
22785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 01, 2017, 04:32:50 PM
Getting this board tested... generic board - 9 slots PCI and 1 compute card that I got from Panto-tech in Alibaba.

I am too lazy to do this test in the farm because it hot as hell 35-36c - I may faint after 30 mins or so...

My nice and comfy air conditioned office is one floor below the farm.

I have to use the lowest power card available not in production with a 6pin power input.

Found 9 pieces of GPUs.... Asus Strix R7-370 x 8 and a lone R7-370 Nitro+

Really old cards these but safe enough not to power trip the whole warehouse.

I think these cards will consume more LESS than 1000w (fingers crossed) and whole rig below 5A - my workbench is connected to a 20A circuit.

<snipped>

Okay..... here's some findings on this board

1. Wont post with smOS USB stick
2. Planning to install Windows with 8 x GPU (dumped this idea)
3. Quick chat with Panto tech team....

- this board is designed and certified for P106 mining GPUs
- 1070 maybe just maybe depending on PL for each card.
- Windows supports 8 GPU
- Linux supports all 9 GPU slots

for 1070, 1080tis, they suggest the board like what Phil is testing so that you can juice up 4gb or more RAM and faster CPU.

I wouldn't use this board if only for P106s.

Maybe for 1070s or RX470s -- investing on boards like this is NOT worth it -- otherwise good to have and not necessary because I am not intending to win the most sexiest mining rig - main objective is get-rid of risers as much as possible, and improve density further to 7-9 cards per rig - riserless.

right now  my board  is rock solid running 6x 1070's  on an 850 watt psu.

smos under clocked power to 95 watts per card.

I got the msi itx  1070 today and pulled the 1080 ti out put in the msi 1070 itx.  this board looks good.  for six  with a 16gb stick of ram and the i5 6400t cpu.

waiting for more 1070's

it is not going to run  8x 1080 ti's

I will try 7x 1070's with 1 x 1080ti

I can order 10 for :

1180 boards
  174 shipping
    68 paypal fee
     41 Alibaba ins fee

1463       so 147 a board to my house in New Jersey ,USA

so I mark it up to 155 plus shipping at cost to USA  say 175 a board.

Any one want it?  I need to get 10 .  No rush to pay

Hi Phil,

Just wondering is there any reason to use silicone rubber specifically as opposed to a rubber matt you might use in a shop floor or something? Just checking as a these seem to only ship from the US, canada is lacking on options.

heat  resistance.

you can use this

Yes you can.

Move  the two pin out of the way and put in the six pin in the riser.
22788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 01, 2017, 02:46:32 AM
Yes I ordered a sample about thirty minutes ago. This board costs more 200 vs 178 for the sample.
22789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 01, 2017, 02:13:58 AM
I just received my D1800 today, wanting to attempt to power this thing with just a server PSU, i was curious if im understanding this correctly... the 3 slots in front of the MOLEX connectors will power just those 3 correct?

The reason i am asking is because i am going to test running the mobo off a server psu only, because from doing a little research, the onda forum someone mentioned that it only uses the 12v off those 3 molex and 3 sata connectors only... so have no clue what the point of using those 2 connector types period...

The Molex only has +12v and +5v

The Sata power has +12v, +5v, and +3.3v

If the info is correct and its really only needing +12v and ground to run each PCIe slot, then that is golden and im just gonna solder directly to those pins and bypass the Molex and Sata connectors...

good question don't know

I also realized I misunderstood second seller on alibaba.  so I may be able to get a sample of his board.

that is this one.

this board sample will be 200

153 board
 38   shipping
   9   paypal fee

200 net

this one won't short  god willing  it will allow for no 24 pin  and your own cpu.

you will need to wire your own   4 pin  for the cpu  a pico will do   but if you are handy  you can make  a cpu  cable from your server.

-2 lowest hash rate with least power used.
-1 more hash rate with more power used
0  even more hash rate with more power used
+1 most hash rate with most power used

no one does +1  with good results

0  can be done in a cool room with  a very good psu

-1 is good if you are running hot
-2 is good with a shitty psu.

Hi Philip,

so what is the offset that is good for EVGA Supernova 1200 P2 ?
and also for EVGA Supernova 1300 G2 ?

I'll see what I could do with that high temp. what is the good ambient temp ?

Thanks

all my evga psus struggle with s-9's and with avalon 6's.

so I would set to -2

and really try to get the intake under 38

So set your  fan to 40%  not 10%

it will never drop under 40% so you are good with the 40% setting. Most likely it will ramp to 78% or so.
22791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: November 01, 2017, 01:36:21 AM
Hi guys, I am just, spent 9hours of installing 10x vegas 64 sapphire limited edition. I am was able to install only 9gpus, because of the asrock mobo 110 pro btc. 9 gpus just boot fine, but when 10gpus was installed the mobo just stop working, no booting no sign of anything. I am check everything, even the swapping of risers, gpus, slots was without succes...
But anyway 9gpus are in w10 and they are mining. 1350W on wall, but only 1150h for card. Even I did not saw the compute option in wattman! How it is possible? What about igpu as primary display?

when you installed gpu number one  did you set it up and test mine to see what it did?

if not  you fucked up since you have no idea when  your shit numbers started?

and if they started on gpu number one   you should have asked then what was wrong.

So at this point I have no suggestions other then erase everything install just the first gpu and let us know what it mines.

BTW I am not sure if that is the better gpu model.

While I started this thread I have not purchased any amd cards in six months.

so  I am not the best person to ask.

hello phil.

I have access to galax 1070 katanas for a little less than $450.

Are these cards any good?

Planning to get an 8gpu-riserless board + 7 of the galax 1070 katana and 1 zotac 1070 mini.

I can resell them to you or any one else. Just need to figure out cost effective shipping.

I had 2 of them.

not sure I would want them in the riser-less build

they have only okay cooling

So phil  did you figure out how to bump up to 6 or 7 cards while you wait for the 1070 itx?

You know me Grin  yes .

about 700 watts used  for the six cards  about 2600 sols

5x 1070
1x 1080 ti

should end up 910 watts for 8 cards about 3400 sols

7x 1070
1x 1080 ti

now running 4x 1070
and 1 1080 ti

about 580 watts  for 2200 sols

I have to stop I need more cards

Phil its look like I need your help for these Onda 1800s, One is already fired (bad capacitor may be). On other two cant seems to work more then 1 GPU. Share your Bios settings and steps/method. Thanks in advance. I am beginning to think that may be I got the Bad MB from the seller.

are you using smos and running nvidia?

did you insert 3 sata and 3 molex ?

it is easy to put the molex in wrong if you did that means dead board.  this is the biggest flaw with the design

are you using a decent atx psu and no server psu.?

Mostly I tried Windows,I have tried smos once with good results (5 GPU were detected). Sixth GPU is busted and ready for RMA.

Yes and each one is individually connected to PSU

I am using Corsair HX1200i.

well my opinion for what is worth,  is linux/smos/nv0019  is the way to use--- i like smos for nvidia and I find no problems going all nvidia and smos I don't mind paying 2 bucks a month to run 8 cards on a board.  since I was doing 4 card boards  this 8 card board will save 24 dollars a year in smos fees

the odnda 6 slot 1800 and

 the onda b250 8 slot + 4 boards   have a big issue

if you stick the molex in wrong it kills the board .--  since i murdered 1 six slot this way i absolutely don't like that feature.

next

I have a lot of cpus with good quality i5 6400t i5 6500t they work really well on this board my cost = 0
I have at least 3 16gb sticks of sodimm ram
and 2 sticks of 8gb sodimm ram
and 4 or 5 quality usb stick

so the 8 slot board is attractive to me.

I can get the boards well under 180 usd if I buy 10 of them
also makes them attractive to me.

if you don't run the gear full out a quality 1200 watt atx  will do 8 1070's simply set to 110 watts for the 1070  and you use 880 of 1200 watts
22795  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A7 announced on: October 31, 2017, 08:09:48 PM
Vi and Vout looks ok, so the PMU is not the problem.

What is your hashrate?
It looks like one or two hashboards are having some kind of problem.

You should open a ticket at Caanan and post the log there.

Update:

What voltage offset are you using? Please try with -1 or even -2.

Please check your temperatures, 42 degress C at input is a lot, maybe it's overheating ! Fans are at 100%, this is not normal.
Temp[42]
    TMax[95]
    Fan[5760]
    FanR[100%]

my voltage offset is 0. what does it actually do?
so what does the safe temp for in and out? is it below 40 for in?
and below 95 for out?

Whats the XMR hashrate on a 1800x CPU and 299 is a great deal for one right?
3.6 ghz 8 core

// what mobo do you guys rec for a amd chipset mining build? How much extra power do I need to allocate for this CPU

http://amzn.to/2A4li6L asus prime b350 plus seems nice?

http://amzn.to/2gRWOFB biostar tb350 btc seems to have eh reviews?

299 is rock solid deal for that cpu

it earns 70 cents to 80 cents a day.  about 550 hash rate.

figure 100 watts for the entire setup while mining xmr and no gpus.

about 50 watts for the system at idles no mining.

I suggest a watercooled cpu

this is over kill i have it

https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Liquid-Cooler-Cooling-400-HY-CL24-V1/dp/B074WH52BW/ref=sr_1_3?

this is good I built 1 pc with it

https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Liquid-Cooler-Cooling-400-HY-CL24-V1/dp/B01N9X3HY1/ref=sr_1_3?

that mobo looks good for four cards  good price.
