Hope that helps.
2282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Challenge: Get a presidential candidate to accept bitcoin donations on: June 27, 2011, 03:15:11 PM
George Carlin was right, we're given the illusion that voting matters, that parties matter, that the silly issues they pump up on TV matter. Just a shell game, boys. You don't control the monetary system, you have no real say in anything. Lobbyists don't get paid in ideals and optimism, they require cold hard cash.

We'll never take the corporate contribution system out of our politics, so why even friggin' bother. Time to route around these parasitic bastards and never look back.

Seriously.
2283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins interest rates possible? on: June 27, 2011, 03:11:55 PM
I've never understood the compulsion to enact a usury system with bitcoin.

Its like insisting a car has to have a harness for an animal to pull it. Get your heads out of the bank-washed system of 'charging for money', just for a second, eh?

2284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gold 'n BTC on: June 27, 2011, 03:09:14 PM
I'd rather move my wealth in a easily-concealed flash drive, than try to cross borders with a heavy clinking suitcase. Digital wealth makes a lot more sense when you have to GTFO.

On the other hand, I do like shiny things...
2285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So, how many of you were hoping the price would fall off a cliff? on: June 27, 2011, 03:06:00 PM
I knew it wasn't going to happen because of the 10 time goxings.

Had the site opened up 24 or 48 hours after it closed, we would have definitely seen it.

Time heals all wounds.

Love how this thread was 'allowed', but you couldn't let me crow about 17.00+ prices? You're absolutely mental.
2286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are people buying more hardwares? on: June 27, 2011, 03:04:55 PM
I just acquired a few truckloads of silicon that I'll use to brute-force keypairs and generate coins. I'm mainly in it for the science. Luckily I also know of an abandoned factory that still has active power mains, so I'll just be tinkering in there, setting up a large array of power-hungry machines to fuel my ambitious scheme.

Since I got all the parts below cost, (ie., free), I feel I have a good business model. If you hear of a large fire on the outskirts of town, don't mention my name. Also, I'd run because I'm pretty sure those tanks outside hold more than their share of heavy metals. Nasty stuff.

2287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Enough with the elitist crap on: June 27, 2011, 03:01:10 PM
I don't mind 'victims'. They increase the net worth of bitcoin by releasing their coins to others who know what to do with them. Consider it a 'stupidity tax' if you get hacked. Such is life on the internet.

Also, I'm not seeing enough "CRASH CRASH CRASH" and "Mt.Gox" threads, someone better get going on that.
2288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: <17.00+> !! Thanks to all the alarmist CRASH jackholes and associated idiots... on: June 27, 2011, 07:47:24 AM
Thread is not needed. Sorry Tim.

Glad you were as diligent with the five thousand Mt.Gox freakout threads. Doing a bang-up job, there.
2289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / <17.00+> !! Thanks to all the alarmist CRASH jackholes and associated idiots... on: June 27, 2011, 07:24:51 AM
Thanks, we couldn't have done it without you.

The continuous threads, the off-key whining. Please, tell me again how Mt.Gox was supposed to be the end of us all, and bitcoin included, I haven't finished laughing. If anything, you alienated the very audience you hoped to sway. In fact, give it another go - I'd love to see a big contrary push past 20.

Please rest assured I will only use my increased wealth to mock your very existence, nay, your entire family name and reputation.

Go forth, and find another roost - bitcoin isn't done quite yet Smiley

Update: I didn't post this here - I put this in the "RALLY" thread. But hey, cool.
2290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ALL of my bitcoins stolen (Around 60) . What the F*CK. on: June 27, 2011, 07:18:47 AM
** Lights a votive candle in the "allinvain" church of shitty security precautions - chapel and whineatorium **

"Dear father, forgive me, I have kept my primary balance on my machine with not a thought to security."

"Say ten "allinvain" prayers and donate a satoshi in the name of your sin."

"Yes father, I shall reflect on my failings and pray before the patron saint of 'he-knows-not-what-he-does'."

"Bless you, my child. Sin no more."
2291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goxed - 15:30 open on: June 26, 2011, 10:31:01 PM

Dude I don't care if you sell or not and I have not said one dang thing about selling. I also did not say they were screwing with the market I said it's to easy for them to do that. The best we can do is look at the published Bid/Ask but who is to say that information is valid? After playing in Day Trading for over a year and watching MM's screw with stocks and eat the general player alive I don't trust anyone. I play the game knowing it's likely rigged and if I come out ahead then good for me, if not then I knew going in it was not my home field.

In my opinion with a weeks worth of mining, stalled trades and those rollbacks they said were taking place I saw $12 as very likely from looking at the past movement. I still don't think this has fully leveled out and there are some big orders out there which could take it down a few notches pretty quick. If $14 was the bottom then I missed it, oh well.

Oh, I see, so since it's "easy" for them - you imply they are?

Bottom line, you don't trust them - don't use them. It'll save us from your pedantic line of reasoning at the same time, bonus!
2292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Disadvantages of Bitcoin why price might drop. on: June 26, 2011, 10:14:28 PM
11. What if someone who doesn't understand anything keeps posting threads, will the forum server EXPLODE???

Guess we'll see...
2293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You do Realize you are Never Seeing your Money again, Right? on: June 26, 2011, 10:13:25 PM
Maybe this is why I *still* don't have access to my account.  This is fucking ridiculous.

Maybe complaining on a forum that has nothing to do with Mt.Gox isn't the right approach. Perhaps using the exchange support forum and other contact methods is. I know, I know, you can lead a horse to water....
2294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goxed - 15:30 open on: June 26, 2011, 10:11:54 PM

It's to easy for them to be filling orders in the $16-17 range which is where they probably want the price due to rollback statements they made and delaying low ball stuff. Not saying this is happening but it reminds me of playing on the Pink Sheets and watching certain players screwing with the Bid/Ask just to drive the price, not to buy/sell then when they get it where they wanted they would buy/sell.

Better inflate your life preserver, that bridge you are under will get flooded by the rising bitcoin river pretty quickly. Face it, anyone who wanted to bail on Mt.Gox is already long gone, or in the process of transferring a balance. I don't mind someone saying they see a downtrend with some kind of rational thought behind it, but you're just a litany of "SELL SELL SELL" with very little logic behind your claims.

Rigging bid/offers? Are you for real?

Of course the exchange that had massive problems would further alienate their traders by messing with it.. OF COURSE!! (Rolling Eyes.)

2295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goxed - 15:30 open on: June 26, 2011, 09:34:30 PM
So much for the end of the world:

Mt.Gox: 16.48 last, 16.41/16.48 bid/offer

Tradehill: 16.299 last, 16.299/16.48 bid/offer

Where are all the "CRASH CRASH CRASH" trolls? Oh, that's right, they are drowning under their bridges because the river his risen so fast. That is what I like about markets, you don't have to do anything but be on the right side.

2296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gox BTC hitting TH Auction Block on: June 25, 2011, 10:43:23 PM

It's hard to have a constructive discussion when so many people here just blindly believe bitcoins will keep going up and up and away!!

And yet money is based on the belief of its value.....

Oh the irony.
2297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Watching Tradehill prices closely... on: June 25, 2011, 10:39:16 PM

Those are cumulative totals, not individual. The spread between 14.51 and 14.4 is 190. If someone sell 1300 BTC the price will be 14.4.

Hmm... I'll have to take a closer look, didn't think they grouped them in that way - makes it a bit misleading for the reasons you specified!
2298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Watching Tradehill prices closely... on: June 25, 2011, 10:12:00 PM
Highly unlikely this is over...

What to you think is going to happen to the exchange rate when Mt. Gox opens with no BTC in the orderbook?

Not to mention there are a wall of bids over at Tradehill.

1,110 BTC @ 14.51
1,150 BTC @ 14.50
1,230 BTC @ 14.45
1,300 BTC @ 14.40

It goes on... that's 4,790 BTC in just a 0.11-cent range. Notional value at a last of 16.00 = $76,640 And it just keeps getting bigger from there...

2300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Useless Because It's Too Easy Too Get Robbed on: June 25, 2011, 09:13:19 PM

Sorry, buddy, you continue to mark yourself as a dickbag. Escrow is obvious, but it introduces the problem of a third party. This is a fundamental flaw as any conventional escrow would be subject to regulation. Escrow makes Bitcoin no different to a bank or paypal transaction. As such, Bitcoin is just a geeky reinvention of the wheel.

The nearest thing to a resolution offered so far is the "web of trust", offered by a more constructive poster than yourself earlier in this thread.

But remember, if Bitcoin goes mainstream gangs of very smart people will be looking to attack it.

I don't mind if you think bitcoin is useless, because there is a disproportionate number who think it isn't. Nothing you've suggested is new, novel, or any kind of 'final solution'. So feel free to sit at the sidelines and pick nits out of your fur, leave the trading to the adults.
