2281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ENRG]Energycoin - IPO Closing! On 6 Exchanges! Last 15 shares! on: May 13, 2014, 06:44:42 PM
Noticed I got my share, thanks. And also just checked the price on the exchange... people are selling these way too cheap. Looking at max coins, it should at the very least be selling at ITC levels ... and ITC has been sort of underpriced. ITC has reached 700-800 sats as a high, just to use as a reference.

200-300 sats would be the min. I'd say is a somewhat fair, yet still lowish price. 500-1000 is a fairer price.

< 50 is a joke.
2282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][QBC] Québecoin - X11 - DGW - (BITTREX) - Win/Mac/Linux Wallets - New on: May 13, 2014, 06:24:37 PM
Out of curiosity I checked the dev posting history just now. He has posted here twice in the entire month of may. I don't even have that many Quebecoins, don't have a real vested interest in how the coin even does at this point, and I have posted here more than that.

Unless the dev has succumbed to a terrible maple syrup accident, I don't really see any excuse anymore. To say he's busy working on android wallets, or whatever, is still not an excuse.
2283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / Crypto, Fiat, Bullion pairs / Multipool / Bounties on: May 13, 2014, 05:44:45 PM
Hate to ask this, but is there any sort of timetable as to when the wallets/swapover will be complete? By the end of the week?

Looking back, it probably was a bad idea to ask people to move all their coins to poloniex. People get antsy... it's like putting a wad of cash in front of a gambler while he watches other games he can bet on.

And are there any announcements upcoming for whatever else you have been working on? I recall that casino thing, for instance. I haven't seen much mention of it since the wallets have taken precedence, but some ideas on what is upcoming may be helpful.

There should also be some organization regarding voting for coinpayments and moolah. I realize the dev team has been busy, but too much silence isn't a good thing.
2284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Libertycoin and Dreamcoin are both scams on: May 13, 2014, 05:27:42 PM
I generally dislike using the term scam unless it's completely obvious.

The problem is, they put the word in the title of their coin release.  When you go and read through the coin description, it makes no mention of "oh, we might have zerocoin 2 years from now if it actually works".  Their coin description implies that's it's already in there.  All the random idiots on the forum just assumed the coin had it already and started to pump the coin not even knowing what Zerocoin is.

I may be wrong, or it was added in later, but I thought the Dreamcoin dev did mention it's a work in progress or something similar to that. Of course that does require people to read the entire ann thread, which I guess some people don't do here. It's also possible he just added that in later, after people got interested in the coin... or I am remembering wrong.

And yes, it's certainly on the shady side of things, although if the info is out there somewhere, I'm not sure I'd say it's an outright scam.
2285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Libertycoin and Dreamcoin are both scams on: May 13, 2014, 05:04:15 PM
I also tried to start a discussion about this in the thread, but all I got was "shut up troll" / "you just want to buy them cheap" and more comments like that.

Even if Dreamcoin is not a scam, I don't have the faith the Dev can really implement Zerocoin. I asked him some questions about that through PM, but it looks like he doesn't like to answer complicated questions.

I generally dislike using the term scam unless it's completely obvious. It is possible that both coins had plans to implement zerocoin and didn't realize that it wouldn't so easy. And since zerocoin has been discontinued by the original devs, I really wonder how dreamcoin could possibly even say they can pull it off.

At least liberty coin has backtracked and is removing the zerocoin references.

But as I mentioned before, it probably doesn't matter. Trolls and fud is so rampant here, that any negative comments or critical thinking sometimes gets misconstrued as trolling. It's assumed everyone has an ulterior motive, so if you are saying something negative, you must want the coin cheap for yourself.

It'll happen in a forum like this with little to no moderation. That's what occurs when trolls run rampant in the streets... everyone begins to look like a troll to you. And there is the simple fact that coinholders don't want you to lower the value of their coin, so they'll overlook neg comments/try to dismiss them -- human nature.
2286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Libertycoin and Dreamcoin are both scams on: May 13, 2014, 08:13:39 AM
This is bitch FUD article fk off poster. Your a bitch that sold early.

When you advertise "Zerocoin" as the main feature of your coin in the coin title, but it's not possible to currently implement, may not ever be possible to implement, and allows double spending if it was implemented, how is that "FUD"?

Any of the 5000 coins on the release section could also put "Zerocoin" in their title and be at the same development and implementation point of this guy.  So basically every coin out there is currently Zerocoin!

Libertycoin and Dreamcoin BOTH doing this at the exact same time is also hilarious.

Useful thread, thanks for making it. Sad thing is, it probably won't matter. As I am writing this, Dreamcoin is going up in value even. People don't seem to care about facts, specs, or any of the stuff that should matter with a coin. They just care if it makes them money, right now, immediately ...  if a coin is talked about, chatted about in the trollboxes, it moves up. It can be a piece of junk, with 'features' that don't exist, and can't exist... doesn't matter.

I expect many of the people buying dreamcoin/libertycoin don't even know what zerocoin even is. But it sounds fancy, whatever it is...
2287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][QBC] Québecoin - X11 - DGW - (BITTREX) - Win/Mac/Linux Wallets - New on: May 12, 2014, 10:25:11 PM

Before voting to put the coin on sharex, I expect it may be better to wait and see if the dev will even allow the coin be listed there.

Coined up, Austin exchange, ShareX, etc. could be a combo of small exchanges the coin probably could get listed on, if the dev was active with the coin. Again, no idea if he wants the coin even listed there though. Little point to voting if the dev may just veto it.

And yes, the coin won't jump up a ton even if the coin gets on other exchanges, due to the premine. People would rightfully be afraid if the price got too high, with semi-decent volume, as the dev (or any dev) could just dump the premine and kill the prices then.

I really doubt the dev will destroy any of the premine, but he could start a partial airdrop early (unsure how much that could lower the price, as it's already pretty low). And do that vault/lockup thingy with another member here, whomever that was. But at this point, that all sounds doubtful.
2288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / Crypto, Fiat, Bullion pairs / Multipool / Bounties on: May 12, 2014, 07:12:06 PM

Awesome news..They are all waiting for the unfreezing on Poloniex like hawks lol..Good job I managed to buy a few hundred coins last night that I had borrowed to do another buy in.  Grin Grin

I find trading behavior both fascinating and odd.

People move their coins to poloniex in anticipation of the wallet changeover, and of course, coincidence or not (I'd guess not), that limecoin lite coin does their flash ipo thingy. So people naturally cash out their xbc, put it into lcl, and hope for some gigantic profit. XBC price goes down due to the sell-off ... yet LCL never really takes off ... and now the next day, XBC is probably higher than the price they sold at, and with the new wallet, I'd expect the price to increase. That doesn't even count the potential for other exchanges to take the coin now.

It's like 90% of people have some form of trading ADD, where they buy/sell based on whatever is occurring within a 15 min timespan.

I will make an effort to keep this thread "FUD" free, so here are some facts. Any speculation on my part is clearly noted.

Dev posting multiple times a day prior to IPO.

IPO ends. Speculation: This is when the dev truly stops giving a shit.

Highly anticipated launch is postponed 24 hours. People that rented rigs are pissed off. Dev claims 2 days wasn't enough between IPO and launch. Of course, i'm sure dev was working and coding 48 hours straight and still missed the launch /sarcasm  Roll Eyes

Dev makes last minute changes to the wallet changing to the reward structure resulting in the windows wallet not being ready for launch. More people pissed off.

Some exchange adds QBC, dev decides Bittrex is good enough and exchanges shouldn't add QBC without "permission". I haven't seen another example of this in the crypto world. Obviously 2 exchanges is better than 1.

Countless legitimate, honest questions ignored by dev. Offers to help the coin also ignored by dev.

I'm furious at myself. Can't believe I "invested" (more like donated) 1.5 btc into this shitcoin

I try to be objective about any coin, even coins I own. I don't like insane hype, nor insane trolling.

I do agree with you on every point. I'll also throw in the syrup, which makes absolutely no sense from a dev standpoint. It doesn't exactly take tons of time or effort to mail out 8 cans of syrup, or however many it should be.

If the dev is being honest, certain things don't make sense. Why would the dev, who was super active before the ipo, drop out like he has? Where is the premine lockup? Where is the local promo giveaway? Why no effort to get on at least some of the smaller exchanges? I don't mean absolutely dinky ones, but there are several small in-between ones he can try.

The only reasons I can come up with are: Dev has walked away/given up, dev is super busy in RL (not sure how realistic that is), dev is gobbling up cheap coins on the exchange, plans to return, boost profits, or he truly thinks posting in the forum + mailing syrups + exchanges don't matter ... in which case I strongly disagree with him.

Hey, we did post all sorts of stuff - I was the first to post the links for his previous scams....... needless to say I got called a shill and a troll while you threw away your bitcoins.

It's been so long I don't even recall what you posted. I was referring more to Herp and his style of posting. Simply stating facts works better than giant fonts and outrageous claims. The problem is the noise obscures any real issues there are. I remember posts from Herp (or someone) which basically were like: Hey, some guy I know pmed me that some guy he knows says Payu is <some negative term>. Too many repeat posts like that work against warnings, as then people basically dismiss anything the person says ... too troll-like. And when a person posts nonstop, 24 hrs a day, every day, in giant fonts, that too works against him.

I'm not saying you did any of that, as again, beats me what you posted as it was so long ago.

Myself, I'm having a little fun picking up a few hundred here and there while adjusting my bids...almost always upwards.

The market's so thin, it's the kind of fun you can have with <0.1 BTC. Smiley

I've been doing the same, but with less than .01 btc -- just using the crumb profits from selling some of my ipo coins semi-early. I have over 500 coins now, which isn't much, but considering my small ipo amount only gave me like 150, it's an improvement.

The price has been moving up a small amount the past two days. I think some other people may be having the same idea.
2292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / Crypto, Fiat, Bullion pairs / Multipool / Bounties on: May 11, 2014, 05:39:16 PM

Intelligence on the BCT thread Lol. I appreciate your thought with this statement. The wallet is probably the LEAST exciting project that XBC team has underway right now. If you sell now. GL buying back when XBC = .1 Btc in a week

.1 may be a bit optimistic, especially for a week,  but saying the coin can get at least into the low to mid .02s just based on wallet + exchange rumors isn't unrealistic. Possibly .03-04s if other exchanges do take it on eventually. That doesn't count any pumps and such. I'm not a fan of super hype talk, nor fud/troll speak ... but looking at things logically, unless some disaster occurs, it doesn't seem to make any sense to sell now.

I am just surprised by the mindset of some people here once in a while. Like when some people asked if xbc destroying spare coins meant that their purchased coins would now be destroyed, a person here asking if buying low/selling high during a pump is legal or not, or someone with a handful of xbc getting all upset because their coin went from .015 to .013. It's like people aren't using common sense, while some expect a coin to go in a straight line upwards... forever.
2293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / Crypto, Fiat, Bullion pairs / Multipool / Bounties on: May 11, 2014, 04:24:51 PM
Grin You can't imagine how appealing the idea of pulling a trigger is right now.
However, thanks for communicating. it was beginning to feel like the surface of Mars again.
ad astra per laborem ad astra

I'm not entirely sure why, as the price to sell isn't especially appealing at the moment. Logically you'd think after all the hubbub over the wallets is over and done with, and with other exchanges then a potential spot for the coin (both due to new wallet + the volume generated to date), the price would most likely rise. Unless there is another coin you want to pick up immediately, I'm not sure it makes sense to sell right now. The opposite probably is true... buy before new wallets while price is low-ish.

But we'll see. I just sometimes have difficulty understanding the short attention span trading style some folks seem to have here.
2294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][QBC] Québecoin - X11 - DGW - (BITTREX) - Win/Mac/Linux Wallets - New on: May 11, 2014, 12:12:27 AM

LOL.... Ya... Maaza was traded for above 15,000 and then above 7,000, and hit a rock bottom of 2000 which was an considered a good price to buy low and waited for the gradual rise. It then crossed all barriers of imagination and went to 800 "temporarily". It was a steal back then, because even if it climbed back to its previous low of 2000, that would've been tripple the investment returned. It then reached 400 without any mercy. Now it is available for 75 sats.... and this was for a coin on all the biggest exchanges including Mintpal, Cryptsy, Poloniex and more at a time when country coins were just getting popular.

So ya.... I would say that the "optimism" is strong in this one, and french forums and android wallets are indeed going to save the coin  Roll Eyes

I would focus on more practical things like a donation drive to bribe exchanges, etc. Munity just recently got on poloniex 2 days back, and the net hash rate more than trippled and still climbing. The difficulty is picking up and you can already see the buy pressure coming up from "early adopters" because its ridiculously low at the moment. And believe me when I tell you, Quebecoin is way more popular than Muniti, but the difference was that the dev was always responsive to questions and active on the forum. There was a certain level of basic transparency and the people were constantly in the know how about updates and stuff. For them it was all news about the airdrop and how that was proceeding... whatever... the community was backing up the coin because they were in the loop.

Hmm... I should see if I have any muniti crumbs on bittrex... it may be some other nation coin I have though.. bitleu, or something like that. The crumbs pile up and I forget what I have.

Getting on other exchanges should be a priority, but for whatever reason doesn't seem to be. No idea why. Muniti I think is the coin that had a nice promo idea too (which I recommended for quebecoin), by using flash drives stamped with their coin logo, then giving them out (I assume). I still have no idea how or when the quebecoin promo giveaway, which was supposed to occur in small amounts after the coin's release, is supposed to happen.

UPDATE

We have someone willing to help. We require 1.2 BTC. We currently have 0.4 btc. Everyone donating will get a honorable mention.

1EEm16adhGrYTGGW3f5sh8phs4EHWRK55x BITCOIN

We need it tomorrow, so all the btc we come short will come out of our pockets but help is appriciated!!!

Lets get this going guys!

Jeffrey

That's some decent news. I'm hesitant to ask, but what is the timeframe on the new wallet, assuming that whomever you hire starts on it tomorrow? Thinking about it, maybe that's not a question you should answer. But whomever you are hiring is reputable with a good past history, correct?

As for the trolls, to me their agenda is simply making money. The past week we have seen the price go up to around .018ish and then back down again to .01 (sometimes sneaking below). When price is going up, trolls are quiet, then they sell off. Then they start up troll/fud talk again, price goes down, they stock up, and repeat the process. It's a coin on a small exchange with a trollbox, so it's made for that sort of thing. It's happened like 3-4x in a row just this past week. They are basically doubling their money (or coin) with each repeat.
2296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / Crypto, Fiat, Bullion pairs / Multipool / Bounties on: May 10, 2014, 06:20:43 PM

52 BTC may  not seem much to you but if i had that much you would see the price of BTC skyrocket with what i would do...this guy who created this XBCam was out for his own ...now look he's started a new alias and is doing it again with XLC!!! =\ hmmm you support this logic?

52 BTC is a lot to me, and I think the timing with XLC is absolutely horrible ... I have stated such already in this forum. So no, I don't support a dev coming out with a copy of a previous coin so close to the original's date. It still doesn't make this a scam.

A scam is if the dev never provided coins to the buyers. A scam is when a coin explodes into viruses, or when an exchange walks away with your money.

A dev leaving a coin to a new team isn't a scam. A dev taking the ipo money may be considered a scam, IF he promised everyone, including those buying the coin, that he planned to use the entirety of the money on coin development. In the latter case, I am not aware of any such claim at all.

Yes, some money should be used for development, and I think based on what was said just above by Serious, they are working some things out and some might. So... XLC is a terrible idea, the original dev should use some of the ipo for dev work ... but none of that makes this coin a scam.

This all just reads like fud/trolling, to drive the price down, to play the 'buy low... wait a bit, sell for double the price = profit' game, and repeat. And that has occurred for the past 5-6 days, basically in the same exact pattern.

Thanks for the link. I assume we can set up a masternode at any time in the future, correct? I'd like to wait until all the bugs are worked out, and a baby level how-to guide is out there for people like me. I just wish I had more than 1000 coins to play with now... I think I have, umm... 1025 ... not exactly a ton.

I have a question about that node/1000 thingy, which I haven't kept track of very closely. Basically if users set up their own nodes, they get a portion of mining profits? Or something like that?

I have a tiny bit above 1000 coins right now.

What I am wondering about is, is it worth just keeping 1000 coins for the rewards, or if the price goes crazy, sell some to go below 1000, just to take profit? I don't mean at current prices, but say it doubled or something in a short time period?

I was thinking of keeping 500, playing with the other 500... just want to check and make sure that the 1000/node thing wouldn't trump this, and I should just keep the 1000 regardless.

1000 regardless of price.  Wink

Well, my question is, what are the masternode benefits exactly? Again, apologies, as I am sure it's mentioned in this thread, but I haven't kept track of masternode talk.

Definitely, now it's time to buy! It can't get lower than this.
of course it can

Heh, I was thinking of Maza when he posted that.

I don't think quebecoin will sink that low, but still... never be certain a coin is at rock bottom.

Folks,

Regarding the wallet I regret to have to announce Mullick has not followed through with his promise and hasn't been back in contact with us. He personally told us 24 hours "unless there is a nuclear war" 2 days ago. We are reaching out to the crypto community for a professional who can quickly turn around a new wallet for us AND provide a timeline that can be stuck to. Anybody that can do this job please PM me ASAP or get in touch with me on Freenode IRC #XBC (SeriousCoins) with pricing arrangements, I have a forked black coin source we have been working on I can send to you - It should be nearly complete on its own, all we need is somebody experienced with POS wallet rollouts to go through it with a fine toothed comb and make sure all systems are go.

I apologize for the inconvenience, we will get this new wallet rolled out ASAP.

Regarding the above - There are no scams happening here. I have been in communication with XBCPlus who is working out an arrangement to make good on our expenses, this is a non issue right now. Poloniex is not delisting our coin, let's not focus on rumors at this time.

I'm a bit confused as to what is going on with the coin. Just for clarification:

Are we still using this thread, or that updated ann thread that was started a couple of days ago?

Has the team + original dev worked out their differences? The fact that you stated you are still in contact with XBCPlus and working our at arrangement to make good on expenses would lead me to believe the squabbling may be over.

As for rumors, I usually am not pro forum moderation. But I would expect some of the posts were removed because the original dev/current team squabbling is no longer an issue? And that SEC/scam/investigation/poloniex in danger post probably should be removed... fud happens with all coins, but that is insanely ridiculous fud.
