2281  Economy / Auctions / Re: Get YOUR initials minted on the NEW 2016 Bitcoin Penny™ commemorative coin! on: February 28, 2016, 12:15:26 AM
Great question, wttbs! Smiley

As we originally intended, the winner will have his / her initials minted on all our 2016 standard mint coins. And as a THANK YOU for playing, he / she will receive a FREE 2016 Limited Edition Roll (40 special mint SN coins).

However, I can certainly see your point of view, so let me amend the rules. The winner will have his / her choice of either a FREE 2016 Limited Edition Roll or a FREE Classic Roll (with 38 standard mint coins + 2 special mint coins.)

Does that sound fair?

Good luck!

Regards,
Chris

roughly 8 cents a coin if 2000 minted seems more than fair for everyone to have a little GIGL  Cheesy

That's funny stuff. Grin

And now for a Saturday afternoon bump...

Remember, folks...only seven (7) days left in the auction, and so far IBGigglin is the high bidder @ .4 BTC!

Good luck, everyone! Smiley

What is the max amount of characters?

Great question!

Traditionally, you'll find either two (2) or three (3) characters minted on U.S. coins which represent the initials of the artist who created the artwork / coin design. (Which is the reason we chose "CJB" to be minted on our 2015 coin.) You'll find a one (1) letter "mint mark" on many coins, as well. (Additionally, we placed our "CJB" characters in the space where the mint mark would normally be seen on a U.S. cent.) So if numismatic tradition is important to you, I'd stick with one to three characters (1-3).

Technically, we may be able to fit four or five (4-5) characters below the date. However, those characters may need to be minted smaller or closer together to fit in the available space. And that may make the text a bit harder to read on a small coin.

To play it safe, I'd recommend no more than three (3) characters. On the other hand, if you have two skinny "I" letters as in our "DIGI" example above, then four (4) characters would fit quite easily.

Chris

TO ALL BIDDERS: Please feel free to add a note with your bids such as, "I choose 'EZ', please." (Or something like that.) And I'll be happy to add those characters to a mock design (as seen above). Just for fun. Grin

Welcome to our NEW 2016 Bitcoin Penny™ Commemorative Coin auction!

As a fun way to offset our upcoming 2016 minting costs, we're auctioning off custom initials on our upcoming 2016 Bitcoin Penny™ commemorative coin!

What does that mean?

Our inaugural 2015 Bitcoin Penny™ commemorative coin (SOLD OUT) has the initials "CJB" minted below the date on the front of the coin. (See photo above.) This year, we're minting ONE LUCKY WINNER'S choice of custom initials on the fronts of all our standard mint* Bitcoin Penny™ commemorative coins! (That's a few thousand!)

That's right! The highest bidder in this auction will win the privilege of having his / her personal initials of choice minted on the front of at least TWO THOUSAND of our new 2016 Bitcoin Penny™ commemorative coins!

What might that look like? Let's see a few examples using past Bitcoin Penny™ customers:

For instance, if forum member BG4 wins, he might choose to mint "BG4" on our 2016 Bitcoin Penny™ commemorative coin. Perhaps minerjones will win and choose to have "MJ" minted on our coin, or TheAnalogKid might win and choose "TAK" to be minted. The possibilities are endless!**

What initials will YOU have minted on the NEW 2016 Bitcoin Penny™ commemorative coin?

BONUS: The winning bidder will receive one (1) FREE 2016 Bitcoin Penny™ Limited Edition Roll (40 Special Mint* "SN" Coins -- see note below) as a special THANK YOU!

Start Time: Immediately
End Time: Saturday, March 5, 2016 @ 9PM Eastern Time (USA)
Extended Grace Period: There will be an extended grace period of fifteen (15) minutes following the last bid. When fifteen (15) minutes passes without a new bid, the auction will be officially ended. For example, if someone places a bid on March 5 at 8:55PM, then the auction will extend until 9:10PM. If another bid is placed at 9:08PM, then the auction extends until 9:23PM (and so forth).

Starting Bid: 0.10 BTC
Bid Increments: 0.01 BTC (1/100 of BTC)

The winning bid amount should be paid in full no later than seventy-two (72) hours from the end of auction. Payment should be sent to the following address: 1E44nDCkoEvttN8LSECzLDmnYNCqzjausH.

As noted below, we reserve the right to refuse any choice of initials which we deem to be morally offensive (ex. ASS) or unfavorable to bitcoin or the bitcoin community.

Please feel free to ask questions.
Thank you.

Regards,
Christopher @ The Bitcoin Penny Co.

*NOTE: This auction is for our standard mint coin only, which comprises the majority of our 2016 Bitcoin Penny™ commemorative coins. In addition to our standard mint coin, we will also be minting an EXTREMELY LIMITED special mint coin with the initials "SN" (for Satoshi Nakamoto) below the date. We hope this RARE and SPECIAL coin variation adds a little of the classic "coin roll hunting" fun to the Bitcoin Penny™ experience. Our 2016 Short Rolls (20 coins) will each contain 19 standard mint coins (with auction winner's initials) plus one (1) special mint SN coin, while our new 2016 Classic Roll (40 coins) will each contain 38 standard mint coins (with auction winner's initials) plus two (2) special mint SN coins. In addition, we will be producing new 2016 Limited Edition Rolls which will each contain FORTY (40) of our special mint SN coins. Production of our 2016 Limited Edition Rolls will be limited to ten (10) rolls only. Once again, this auction is for our standard mint coins only, which will comprise the majority of our 2016 Bitcoin Penny™ commemorative coins.

2296  Economy / Goods / Re: Exactly 1 handful, premium organic free reign (grass fed?) majestic Shih-tzu fur on: February 19, 2016, 04:02:50 PM
OK...sorry for the late review, folks!

The package arrived to my doorstep here in the USA via Canada International Post / Small Packet.

Surprisingly, our U.S. Customs Office and Postal Service seem fine with foreign packages labeled "dog fur."

Here is a nice shot of my mid-unpacking experience. I was a little disappointed to see no bubblewrap, but the clump of fur appears unbroken, so I guess I'm fine with it.

And here are a few shots of the un-clumped Shih-Tzu fur. If you look closely, you'll see a bit of cream-colored fur mixed in with the white. You usually pay extra for the cream Shih-Tzu fur, so this was a happy surprise.

I had a little fur left in my Shit-Tzu Fur jar from a previous purchase from another online vendor (Wholesale-Shih-Tzu-Fur.com), so I was able to make a quick comparison of the two furs. Both furs were of similar weight and strand length. However, Chris! was able to provide a bit of the cream fur at no extra charge. And that was a nice, unexpected bonus. Also, while both vendors claim to sell top quality, premium Shih-Tzu fur, only Chris! guarantees an organic, grass-fed diet along with free-range sourcing, and that's important to me as a conscientious consumer.

All in all, if you're in the market for fresh, premium Shih-Tzu fur, then I'd highly recommend placing an order with Chris!. Yes, the cost is a little higher than most online Shih-Tzu fur suppliers (but well worth it when considering the bonus cream fur), and the packaging could use some protective bubblewrap, but this is excellent Shih-Tzu Fur that is guaranteed organic from grass-fed, free-range livestock. And that makes all the difference.

Thanks, Chris!! Wink

Regards,
Chris

Let me know when you want to place your order. I've got a handful ready to go! It's ultra fresh cut too.

Sure thing! I'll place the order soon, since I'm running low on shih-tzu fur at the moment. (Probably less than 10% left in the jar.)

By the way, this thread reminds me of an old joke I heard twice before about a guy who went to the zoo and only saw a dog. He thought it was a shit zoo. Wink

Chris
