2281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19 and its effect in Gambling World on: March 09, 2020, 09:23:26 PM
I think that COVID-19 is definitely going to have a knock-on effect for brick and mortar casinos.

Where I live, people are already starting to avoid going to crowded places wherever possible, and physical casinos are definitely some of the most crowded places imaginable.

My local casinos was always filled with people hovering around the roulette and poker tables, and it was always packed to the brim with people—doubly so on the weekend.

Hopefully online casinos can begin to leverage this as part of their marketing efforts, extolling the benefits of online casinos over their (potentially dangerous) and expensive physical counterparts.

2282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Indiscipline and Greed on: March 06, 2020, 11:59:10 PM
Well, the vast majority of traders enter the market with absolutely no training whatsoever simply because they believe that the market will always be bullish.

However, most traders soon enter the market and find that they lose money, because it isn't as easy to trade cryptocurrencies as it first appears. Instead, they would have actually made more money if they just adopted a buy and hold mentality rather than attempting to trade.

People seem to have the delusion that cryptocurrencies are easier to trade than traditional assets, and as such, people don't need any financial understand or education whatsoever to jump into the market.

These people soon find themselves rekt when they realize they're up against automatic trading algos and hedgefunds that absolutely destroy small fry plebs with no understanding of economics.
2283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's End Game on: March 06, 2020, 11:05:06 PM
I think that all currencies, whether cryptocurrency or not will eventually become defunct.

In future we will have technology that renders things like copyrights, patents and practically everything else useless. People will have 3D printers that can produce materials on an atomic scale, which will thereby allow everybody to print whatever they want, whether that be food, a new book, a new house or whatever.

In a future where nothing is scarce, money has no value.
2284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reputation at stake will you stop gambling on: March 06, 2020, 08:51:33 PM
There's absolutely nothing wrong with gambling.

Practically every politician gambles, as do some of the most famous faces on hollywood.

There's plenty of videos out there showing guys like Floyd Mayweather, Kevin Hart, and Arnold Schwarzenneger gambling—mostly playing poker.

You rarely find these sorts of people playing games like slots though, because those are typically associated with a lower class gambler.

Baccarat, Poker, Roulette—all good.

Don't worry about being seen as a gambler, so long as you're careful with it and profitable, nobody cares.
2285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is CoronaCoin profiting off death and Infection? on: March 06, 2020, 08:02:46 PM
Since when is it suddenly wrong for this group to make a profit from sickness, when there are hundreds of pharmaceutical companies that do the same thing?

If there was no profit in raising awareness and treating diseases, do you think we would still have the same treatments we have nowadays?

Do you think big pharma and private companies would spend billions of dollar on clinical trials without the guarantee they'll make a profit... of course not.

Profiting on death is nothing bad. Otherwise, you better start campaigns against morgue operators, graveyards, hospitals and funeral services too.

Crazy how people are even discussing it.
2286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Enough of bounty scam, you can help to stop it too. on: March 06, 2020, 05:14:46 PM
Definitely a good list of suggestions here, this will certainly help some people avoid wasting their time with a bounty that is doomed to fail.

I believe that the vast majority of bounties are going to be fruitless, though there will always be outliers.

IMO bounty hunters should only participate in projects that are likely to be successful even without a bounty program, that way they can be sure they get their rewards even if the bounty doesn't produce great results.

You can normally tell these by looking at whether they have investments already, e.g. from large venture funds or investment pools. These platforms usually have stringent requirements and tend to avoid the projects that are destined for failure.
2287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Read this claims 98% of gear never hits a block. on: March 05, 2020, 11:55:04 PM
Looks like this exact same concept was covered by Decrypt from a slightly different angle.

https://decrypt.co/21142/the-big-secret-at-the-heart-of-bitcoin-mining

This de Vries guy is basically saying that because so few people (miners) successfully discover blocks that they're basically just burning electricity and wasting their time.

However, since the vast majority of miners are congregated together through mining pools, it really doesn't matter how low the individual block discovery rate is, since rewards are distributed across the pool anyway.

Overall, it appears de Vries is just trying to stir up FUD for no good reason.
2288  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Is AMFEIX a Huge Scam? on: March 05, 2020, 11:06:29 PM
While 100% returns a year has certainly been demonstrated by many cryptocurrencies, I'm not sure how any genuine company can unequivocably offer such a return without there being one or more drawbacks.

Looks like the platform enforces a minimum investment limit, indicative of a platform that will eventually pull an investment scam.

Likewise, an anonymous team and absolutely no information on how the return is generated are also huge red flags.

The article seems to say that the platform raised over $50 million though, can't see the source for it though? Seems unlikely that they could have raised such a huge amount without more fireworks.

Right now,
I'm testing everything out but I need a few people to help test my referral system out,
I really need to make sure that my tracking is working right.
My referral program is set up to pay the end user every time the user lose.
You really can't beat a bet you cant lose.

So are you pretty much saying that referrals will be reimbursed with any of their losses during this testing period.

Such that they can keep any bets they win, and will be refunded for any bets they lose?

If so, I imagine there will be no shortage of testers waiting to drain your bankroll dry.
2291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling a threat or fun? on: March 05, 2020, 03:50:23 PM
So long as you keep your greed under control and don't start betting amounts you can't afford to lose, then gambling isn't a threat.

In reality, it's only a threat for those with even very low will power, or extreme risk takers that don't know when to call it quits. As such, anybody who has either of these two personality types should probably avoid gambling, as this is an industry where self control is an absolute must.

With that said, it might not be something that is entirely possible to control, since it appears to have a genetic basis: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/10/191009131740.htm
2292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Temtum to be the first crypto to be used as a national currency ! on: March 04, 2020, 11:59:15 PM
Lol, for some obscure backwater country that is struggling with crippling debt? Not impressive at all.

Pretty sure that Venezuela also has plans to use the Petro as a national currency at some point, to replace the failing Bolivar.

In any case, TemTum is absolute trash compared to more capable cryptocurrencies, and you're just trying to drum up hype for something we all know has no chance of actually happening.

TemTum = steaming pile of sh*t
2293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not Just for Online but also IRL Gambling on: March 04, 2020, 11:41:14 PM
Well, that's pretty much how all gambling works.

Give people a taste of potential winnings, then take it away. This is particularly the case for platforms that offer no deposit bonuses, free spins and bonus cash etc. They know people don't read the small print so they end up wasting a whole load of money trying to get away with their bonus winnings, only to find that the rollover or withdrawal requirements are practically impossible.

It's also a tactic employed by a lot of pay to win mobile games. They give away a high level character or item or something and the players start destroying all the other noobs. Then, when they start facing similarly well-equipped players they start to fail, which leads them to start buying equipment packs and loot boxes to keep up.

If it works, hell, why not!
2294  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Any Old timers around? on: March 04, 2020, 11:23:00 PM
If you are worried about people stealing your ideas—don't be.

Ideas are a dime a dozen, it's the execution that really matters. If you don't have the ability to execute it yourself, or lack the interpersonal skills to bring together the team to see it brought to fruition, then the idea was never worth anything in the first place.

If you genuinely believe your idea is a game-changer, then get it patented. If you can't get the patented, then it wasn't sufficiently novel anyway.

2295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev on: March 03, 2020, 10:22:26 PM
It would be a big upset if Kubrat Pulev would win this fight.

per one of the sportsbook betting odds, Joshua is clearly the heavy favorites here with .

https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/boxing/international/matchups/joshua-anthony-pulev-kubrat-5e5d4c2746a77f5958f7dc2e
Joshua should not underrate Pulev,  the way he did during Andy Ruiz first match,  regardless of the odd being given by bookies,  I think this match will be somewhat tricky to bet on,  I hope Joshua wins and move on to face Tyson fury , looking at the record of Pulev,  he doesn't seem like an easy fight for Joshua

What makes you say Pulev isn't an easy fight for Joshua?

Pulev is about the same age now as Klitschko was when he fought Joshua a few ago, and look how that turned out.

Do you think a B-list heavyweight like Pulev can do what the longest reigning heavyweight champion of all time couldn't?

Joshua has also improved massively since then, I think it's a complete shutout for Pulev.
2296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Real Anonymous Coins Are Free from Restrictions on: March 03, 2020, 09:17:43 PM
How exactly does this decentralized OTC process work?

Surely it's not anonymous when there are bank transfers involved? Unless you've got some sort of way to also mix fiat funds before sending them out?

Is there a document I can read about how VDS' decentralized OTC works?
2297  Economy / Services / Re: Are you tired of losing in your trades? I am here to help on: March 03, 2020, 08:36:34 PM
To anybody who takes up this service, be very careful.

Just because he's trading using your API keys, doesn't mean he can't drain your balance dry.

By shuffling money through low liquidity trading pairs there's a chance he could empty your account and get away with your money.

This should only be possible for accounts with a huge balance, other than that it probably wont happen.
2298  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: why don't we have campaigns using lightning network in the forum yet? on: March 03, 2020, 07:14:29 PM
The vast majority of companies that have a campaign on here don't even access lightning on their website, so why they suddenly implement it as part of a campaign here on the forum?

Just because something is new, and potentially useful, doesn't mean it should be through in wherever possible. There are knowledge gaps and technical hurdles in place that would make it unwieldy right now, hence why most people don't bother with it.

2299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How To Spot a Shitcoin? on: March 03, 2020, 05:44:53 PM
I think no need to check out many things to spot a shit projects. If which one is listed project than firstly trading volume, exchanges, price, team's activity is enough those can help you to trace shitcoin. A new projects are different likes here you should necessarily to analyze strongly because new coins is risky. Whitepaper,Team member,Roadmap specially team's have to be hard worker.

Plenty of cryptocurrencies haven't yet been listed on the likes of Coinmarketcap and Coingecko, but might not actually be shitcoins.

I think in order to truly determine whether a project is likely to turn out to be a failure, you need to perform an in-depth analysis on it, and few people have the time for that.

The most important things to distinguish a project as being either something solid, or a shitcoin, is to look at the past accolades of the leadership team.

Have they created anything of substance in the blockchain space? No? Probably a shitcoin.
2300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My thoughts about privacy coins on: March 02, 2020, 10:46:45 PM
Most people first pass their ethereum or bitcoin througn mixers or wasabi wallet before interacting with centralized exchange platforms to trade for privacy coins like Monero.

It really isn't that difficult to go from Bitcoin to Monero in a completely anonymous way, particularly if you only need small amounts.

Here's a plausible pipeline to do so.

1. Create a new Bitcoin wallet using a tor-based web wallet
2. Receive Bitcoin from your source to said wallet
3. Optional step, pass this cryptocurrency through a mixer or coinjoin wallet
4. Again using tor, create an account on an exchange with BTC/XMR trade pairs and lax KYC requirements (or none)
5. Trade BTC for XMR
6. Withdraw XMR to external wallet.

Anybody who actually cares about their privacy will definitely be using some variation of this technique.
