didn't they already delist these coins? i do my trades on bittrex so i have no way of confirming this but i remember reading 1 or 2 days ago on reddit and also on this forum that they have already removed these coins from their exchange and i remember thinking why a couple of these coins were in the list for example since i recently made a good profit by selling MYR on top of the pump.

as they say in Braavos Valar Morghulis All ShitCoins must (eventually) die Valar DohaerisAll ShitCoins must serve (their purpose...) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FYLLkcnO.jpg&t=663&c=8c7z44QRjGM1dQ) p.s. there are some coins in there that are red and in the red box as collateral damage ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) i hearted LTC because i like the coin, haha. and i also hearted ETC only because it is the decentralized version of centralized ETH nothing more.

why are we even talking about ETF on this topic of all topics! the biggest one which was mostly hyped and it belonged to the Winklevos brothers was rejected and it kind of ended then and there. ETFs are not really going to do anything to bitcoin, let us just hodl our decentralized cryptocurrency in peace and without interruption of third parties looking to make money.

why do you even want to know what Satoshi Nakamoto says! he is just a developer and one opinion at best and bitcoin is not centralized that you want to ask the owner what he thinks to follow it.
in the spirit of decentralization you either educate yourself to understand what is happening and support something that you, based on your knowledge think is best, or keep your fingers crossed that the overwhelming majority does it properly without ending up in chaos.

Why Bitfinex is at 1263 and Bitstampt at 1210?
because in bitfinex support margin trading ussualy exchanger is support margin trading, price can highers or lowerst because trade can get leverage so capital money use trading can big too maybe next time try reading the topic first or maybe read some news and then post a comment. and even if you are completely unaware of the situation margin trading can not cause a difference that big which is about $60 most of the times. and besides margin trading is not a new feature, it has been on their platform for as long as i can remember.

Trading on a demo account and on a real account is different. When you play on a demo account, you are luckier, and when you replenish a real account, you get more loss:(
that is the kind of effect that emotions have. when you are demo-trading or for example if you are trading on paper or in a spreadsheet you are just playing around with numbers so you sit there and think and make a move. but in reality, specially when you have a significant amount of money involved, you can not think straight in many situations for example when all of a sudden price of what you have bought drops -10% and continues down.

why are they delisting Myriad coin it was a good coin! i saw the price go to the moon recently so that must be the reverse effect of Poloniex delisting it! weird but true. and it usually has a decent daily volume whenever i check it out.
although someone said that they want to add more coins so they are removing small ones to free up some resources. new coins like PIVX. that would be great though. a new pump would be on the way.

bitcoin adoption has been growing in many different countries and with every positive news it grows a small bit. and then there is always price of bitcoin and how good a long term investment bitcoin is. and this is not limited to one country or one region, it is everywhere. and remember than most people in other countries like Saudi Arabia and middle east are not using localbitcoins so their volume is not even considered.

^ Why?
why did any exchange get hacked so far? Can anyone explain exactly why would bitSTAMP claim to getting hacked? what do they gain doing that this point? they don't have any problems.
I didn't hear anything about Stamp being hacked. I think it was just idle speculation by a forum poster. it was half JokeSpeculation, half the fact that bitstamp is getting no attention but has a big volume.
|
|
|
mark my words, bitstamp is going to run away. and yes i said the name right bitSTAMP.
you are all busy with bitfinex being higher price and everyone panicking with their bitcoin buying frenzy on bitfinex to withdraw bitcoin to bitstamp and sell it there and as soon as bitstamp's big belly felt full enough they will announce "aww sorry guys we were hacked"

I want to invest 100$ in a coin. Would you recommend me what coin?
Im currently thinking on ARK or NEM
Why ARK? It was pumped couple of days ago but now it's falling. NEM, on the other hand, is on the rise, but if you will decide to invest in NEM be careful, don't miss the point when you should sell it. IMO it might happen in a couple of weeks. I personally think that Litecoin is a good investment now. Another good option would be Ethereum (ETH) in my opinion. you are right about ARK but it took a dip and that could potentially make it a good short term investment on the rebound. haven't checked the markets to see if it has already or not though! and why do you think NEM is going to rise, if i am not mistaken it has had a pump already. but i'll have to put it on my watchlist. Since $100 isn't much, you should look for coins that will pump big time. Probably brand new ones that recently got added to exchanges. My advise would be not to bother with coins that cost more than 15k satoshi or already established ones.
actually these small coins are the hot coins of the time-being. the bigger coins such as Dash and Ether that everyone loves to repeat are already over and are dead cat bouncing. for example PIVX has gone up from 2000 to 170000 in a month or so and ARK has gone up from 3000 to 30000 satoshi in a month or so. these are profits that you should look at not sticking to big coins so maybe they go up another +5% after the pump or get dumped another -20%

very good question and i often think about this myself. and more importantly i am always looking for a way to do all this fast and efficient. you know there are a lot of projects and if you want to spend a lot of time on each of them you would be sitting behind desk reading all day long.
i haven't come up with a solution yet though!
the best thing i can think of is reading feedback. for example reading the ANN thread. and after a while you will find other user's that you value their opinion. for example a random feedback by a random user will always be random but if a certain member who you trust because you saw him give good opinions before is going to be different.

... Sorry for the late reply. Busy with work etc
to call bitcoin a commodity. I get it, maybe you heard someone say it was a commodity but BTC is not a commodity and i dont think you understand what a commodity is
i can not explain it in better English that the following two links: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commoditywww.investopedia.com/terms/c/commodity.aspand in my opinion bitcoin doesn't have to be only one thing. it can be a commodity and a currency at the same time. many people call it commodity maybe because in US, the IRS has recognized bitcoin only as a commodity to tax it easier! but as we can see at the same time on the other side of the world in Japan they have recognized bitcoin as a currency.

Big banks are worried about losing their profits to fintech companies such as bitcoin startups.Regarding Santander bank, the profit loss could be 10%, a leaked memo shows. The document shows that the bank charges six times more than its fintech rivals getting huge profits by giving customers poor exchange rates. They do this rather than charging customers high fees directly. It seems that Bitcoin has started to achieve the goal of liberating people from banking sectors, for what it was created by satoshi.
they have always been worried and their business is always at risk. and it is not just by bitcoin and this is not even a new thing. why do you think they are always present and look for ways of making money in any way possible. and they have already infiltrated cryptocurrencies, there are many altcoins that are invested and controlled by banks look at the coinmarketcap number 2 coin (wink wink).

According to https://bitinfocharts.com/litecoin/ there were 568 blocks mined in the past 24hours. So, in theory if ALL pool support segwit (which is impossible) it'd take 11 days. But it depends on the no. of pools applying segwit through. i don't know anymore but are you sure? this conversation that i had with this guy say without doubt that it should be already activated -snip- that site say that only 258 block are left until period end, litecoin have 576 block per day, this make us need only for half a day for this activation to happen, the two weesk have almost passed already, or that is a bad indicator?
that is not how it works. that site should really make this clear with a little footnote or something so that people can easily understand it. the activation period is the period between two difficulty adjustment times and that happens every 8064 block (i believe it takes 2 weeks). and hash rate supporting the proposal has to reach above 75% before the adjustment (which already have ) and then it has to stay there for the whole next period. in short this period is finished in 10 hours, 32 minutes and in 14 days SegWit will be activated if nothing changes! i believe i gave some wrong information in there too. sorry about that. the timing and numbers are correct but i did a little bit more research and i think it has nothing to do with difficulty on litecoin. because according to litecoin.info/difficulty the difficulty changes every 2016 blocks (similar to bitcoin) the activation period is indeed 8064 blocks and it takes about 14 days to mine that many blocks on litecoin. according to this site: http://litecoinblockhalf.com/segwit.phpthere are 6499 blocks remaining from the current period and with block time around 2.4 min that makes it about 10 more daysnow according to segwit.co/ltc this was period 6 and SegWit is locked in and will activate during the next period. that is the confusing part about this site. it doesn't show how much more is remaining till the end of activation period. instead it is showing 0 days 18 hours,... which is until next Difficulty retarget and as i said it has nothing to do with activation period.

first make up your mind about what you really want. is it profit or is it technology or is it usage.
if it is profit then stop with these questions and join a pump and jump out of the rocket before it runs out of fuel.
if it is technology then it is hard for me to explain since i have never looked for it, but there are a lot of innovations or at least innovative ideas in this market.
if it is Utility, then only bitcoin and then maybe Monero and Litecoin and honorary mention of Dogecoin only because of its community. these are coins to look at and nothing else.

that is why i have never used Tether in my life, despite wanting to do it so much. i am always scared of its price, there is nothing really guaranteeing its price and it can go down from being worth $1
back in August when bitfinex was hacked and everything turned into shit, USDT price went down to $0.96 easily and stayed there for a couple of days.
who is to say it is not going to do that again, another exchange may get hacked like poloniex, heck it may even be bitfinex again.

I really want to know that, if all the United Nation members leaader are agree to accept bitcoin to use as an official currency for International Trading replacing US Dollar, is it possible to happen? and if it is really happen, and then what happen to the price of bitcoin?
you should instead ask "why would they even consider doing this?" it is an impossible thing to happen unless there is a damn good reason for it. right now there is no reason for abandoning USD, it is working fine and it is easily accepted anywhere with the price not fluctuating that much. and if there was a reason for abandoning it, there is still EUR. and as long as these are working fine for the nations they won't look for an alternative that has a volatile price and is not yet mass adopted.

is it just me or this guy's speculations have much more swings sideways than price itself! i mean sometimes they are good, to be fair. but most of the time it is just too many swings every hour, making it hard to even follow ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

And after a long agonizing wait , finally the arbitrage answered your prayers. Bithack is at 1207 and the bitswamp at 1179.
Well, is still only 28$ left.
If you move around a few thousand coins it looks attractive but such a buy won't mean you'll get a 28k discount. You could only buy 465 coins (right now) on swamp to reach bitfinex price on.. worth it???
well reading the topic and specially the link that alyssa85 gave to reddit post and some more research that i did yesterday, it is actually because of the fiat withdrawal fears. in which case being worth it is not the profit you get but based on whether you can really take it out or not. and i believe the price drop below $1220 was because of this to begin with. and then the reason why bitstamp is lower because of the additional sell pressure than normal.
