Monero, Ripple and ETH are not shitcoins.  You're taking most altcoins and shoving a big label on them because the price is dropping so that you can prove your point.  It's great that all the FUD about Bitcoin getting taken over and it being like MySpace is finally going away but there's really no reason to call those coins, especially Monero, shitcoins because they have use cases and purposes which differ from Bitcoin even if they're based on similarities.

When you say shitcoins does it mean that they are scam coins initially? or they are there for just a pump and dump scheme used by big whales to gain or profit huge amount of money? If so, then I totally agree with you that they should die and let the relevant or usable coins stay instead.  Smiley

Ripple is not even a crypto cuurrency let alone shitcoin. It is directly horse shit. Infinite supply, centralized...

Monero is something unique. It is not shitcoin.

ETH is straight shitcoin.

I agree with the rest.

as i said in the P.S some of them are collateral damage Smiley

Monero, Ripple and ETH are not shitcoins.

and i can only agree on Monero not being a shitcoin. but never the other two.
Ripple is just banking system in disguise and ETH is no better, it is a centralized altcoin with the most amount of manipulation that history of cryptocurrencies has ever seen. and we have all seen the bugs and remember the DAO scandal.

they are there for just a pump and dump scheme used by big whales to gain or profit huge amount of money?
i mean this ^^

I do see your point, but I've always looked at a shitcoin as something which has no real use or means of differing from Bitcoin (or is a clone of another crypto, like all the Scrypt copycat coins).

ETH can be used in situations like app development which you wouldn't really think of a specific use for Bitcoin.  It can be useful in its own way, as can Monero because of its anonymity and use on the dark web.

Even if a coin is centralised or is in some other way a problem, I wouldn't call it a shitcoin.  I'd only go that far if there's no point in the coin existing.

At least we can both agree that DASH is a solid shitcoin.

yes ethereum introduced a very interesting platform and a very interesting concept of smart contracts on a big scale but the biggest problem as i've already stated is being centralized. and that is not a small flaw, that is big!

and the worst part is that it is not even doing the only thing it is supposed to do well enough! i mean you can go check out other similar projects. for example check out Lisk, you can see how big the user experience of the platform is.

and price manipulations are really unacceptable. i mean haven't you seen how much they spend on advertising against bitcoin and spamming all over the forum. i mean i have not yet forgotten all the spams i have been getting in my reddit inbox during the initial massive pump last year, bashing bitcoin and claiming to replace it, blah blah.
and i have not forgotten the 1000BTC-3000BTC buy walls they put up in poloniex to prevent price from crashing.
and i also don't forget the fact that Ethereum foundation was caught red-handed by poloniex depositing millions of ETC from their doubled stash to crush ETC's price during the early days of the split.

Well, you can not call a shitcoin because you see a graph showing a decrase in the rate. It happens to bitcoin as well, so are you saying the same about bitcoin? It's true there are a lot of shitcoins but in my opinion monero is not one of them

There are shit coins that does not even have any use and every coin is trying to show that they are better than the rest and it will be like that in the future,i was not aware of ethereum foundation's tactic to crash the price of ETC and how did poloniex caught them and what was the end result, since i am not following all these news i am hearing it for the first time.

I am fully agree with you. They have a good community and follower which nurture and support this coin. This price dumps and corrections are normal in trading. Those shitcoins are in Pump and Dump drama and finally dies with no active devs and no clear roadmap.

Well I can't class all of those as shitcoins, but you're right, most alts do regress to the mean and end up dying over time due to a lack of community involvement. I don't think it's fair to call ETH a shitcoin, nor Monero or Ripple, but I can respect that opinion and see that viewpoint.

It's not surprising at all to see a lot of downtrends though, considering Bitcoin has been very strong over the past few days. I'd be selling my alts for BTC.

ripple really shouldn't be associated with the cryptocurrency space. it may have a role to fill, but it certainly doesn't fulfil the criteria of a crypto worth the name.

uh, so can bitcoin. the only thing that gives bitcoin value is the agreement of the users. same goes for those coins. they may be smaller but they have committed communities too.
