2281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: January 15, 2023, 02:25:18 PM
Strickland did what I expected, I think a lot of people underestimate his skill, and the decision was at 4.00 which is probably a reaction based on his last two losses, was definitely worth a shot on him. Unfortunately, I only do accumulators. I actually cashed out in the middle of the Vieira fight as I could see she was likely losing. I cashed out for a profit of 30 quid. Nothing to write home about.

It could be that Imavov didn't do his best. You can see his takedown attempt was the worse ever, who does that? I'm hoping he'll use his Dagestan wrestling to pin Strickland to the ground. It still lasted 5 rounds though.

Oh I was so wrong about Sean Strickland, he won against Nassourdine Imavov on short notice.
I was not impressed with quality of this whole event, but there was few good fights and some surprises.

Jon Jones might fight Cyril Gane on March for a championship. However, whether this championship will be for the interim championship or the real championship is not confirmed. According to Ariel Helwani, there are also rumors that the UFC will remove Francis Ngannou from the heavyweight championship.
Big news, champion Francis Ngannou is officialy released from UFC!
Jon Jones will return to fight with Ciryl Gane for vacated heavyweight title, but this is big loss for UFC and chance for some other MMA competition to hire Ngannou.
This is one more confirmation for me that UFC is slowly declining, and they don't have full domination like before.
Dana White speaking shit about Ngannou and other fighters outside UFC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sY6JA3n9OaQ

Francis I think can then go boxing already which he had been wishing for. He wants to get millions in a fight, hope he'd be signed already.
Francis is out, Jones is in and Dana gives Jones a good match.
2282  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Crypto should be banned or soon to be. on: January 14, 2023, 02:20:40 PM
Obviously, he doesn't know much about crypto and blockchain. It's funny that because the ledger is available to the public means there will be lots of users gonna be scammed or hacked.

You should know that countries banning BTC will just be left behind when all other countries are heading to digital currency. Eventually, the CBDC may actually allow BTC in their platform. There is no banning that will happen.
2283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Could be a bigger challenge when market force is low on: January 14, 2023, 01:33:18 PM

Every bear market the players in the P2E games will move away from it and play on roulettes, slots, and dice once again. It's a bigger challenge for new p2e projects to maintain profitability and if the P2E game couldn't bounce back to its popularity, it will die. The competition between casinos and other businesses in crypto like P2E is getting tougher, projects die especially if they didn't innovate including the casinos.

2284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Yearly Trend on: January 14, 2023, 01:21:24 PM

2015 and 2019 also were UPward movements after one year of a bear market. If it's the cycle that keeps repeating since is where we get out data, 2023 would also be a bull year. Just like 2019 though, that price won't really go up to ATH as it gonna gradually rise up to its previous ATH. Resistance along the way before we could reach a new ATH and the market will also need the Halving to hit $100K.
2285  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a side job/business improve your finanical stability ? on: January 14, 2023, 06:25:54 AM
Encourage your family to stay together and help each other. Ask them whether they saw an opportunity that you can explore, it's always the family that you can rely on whenever there is a crisis. No single person can handle things on his own in times of crisis.

Just find whatever job is available. Anything that I can make money for. People today have 2 or 3 jobs already. I would probably go door to door to the whole town to ask if they need computer repair services, house cleaning, lawn trimming, or whatever.
2286  Economy / Speculation / Re: what caused bitcoin to go up this january 2023 on: January 14, 2023, 05:21:45 AM
This morning I checked all the news related to the market but didn't really find anything remarkable to help bitcoin skyrocket. What I found is everything is green and people are showing off all over the forums and social networks:D Cheesy. Sometimes bitcoin goes up for no reason and there are always surprises, bitcoin is like that. Many people have predicted and expected bitcoin to increase in price this January and it is coming true. So enjoy these moments as we've been in a bear market for too long. I don't intend to sell any of my bitcoins yet, but it's nice to see the market rebound.

You might have missed some reports like the CPI report telling that inflation had gone down since Nov. Well, it's their report all we do is just listen to it.  https://www.cnbc.com/2023/01/11/cpi-inflation-is-expected-to-have-declined-in-december.html

I don't miss it. I know falling CPI is a sign of economic recovery, and this should be a good sign for all markets, but looking at inflation still at 6.5%, I don't see that as big news that makes Bitcoin soar.

And then there's Yellen telling US debt default which is something that warns people to find another way to hedge. They must be running to get more BTC.
Quote
U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on Friday the United States will likely hit the $31.4 trillion statutory debt limit on Jan. 19, forcing the Treasury to launch extraordinary cash management measures that can likely prevent default until early June.
https://www.reuters.com/markets/us/yellen-urges-us-congress-act-quickly-debt-limit-2023-01-13/

Moreover, the more I don't believe news like this, the US government default rumor I've heard for years and never came true. If this news was confirmed we would see DXY plummet but that didn't happen and gold would be the first thing people look for, not bitcoin. And other markets will panic, but overall the stock market is doing well.

I know but this pronouncement comes from Yellen herself. Can't count that as a rumor but of course, we know who this bitch is.

This could be a bull trap though. We have seen this over and over to have happened and it could happen again while the halving is yet not here. Investors in crypto however will feel the FOMO when it pumps like this while they are still holding stablecoins.  It was $21,200 a few hours ago but now it had been dumped so it must happen any moment.
2287  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NYC schools block ChatGPT, fearing negative impact on learning on: January 14, 2023, 04:34:15 AM

ChatGPT I think shouldn't be banned from thier network. It helps students find answers. The advantage of using ChatGPT for students to learn over students using ChatGPT to cheat in essay/article writing is greater use and the teacher could manually check if the students are using ChatGPT which could disqualify the essay/article if proven.

We know how hard it is back in the days to look for information in the library during those days, we don't have to make it hard for students nowadays.

2289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How do you feel about market recovery on: January 13, 2023, 06:31:38 PM
Feels too good to be true actually. It does look fake as it suddenly just jump this high while I expect to dip lower than $16k because, in the previous months, it goes that low, I was thinking it may retest that support line again before going up.

I'm almost sure that I'm not just the only one who looks at it that way but yep. If I chase the market and buy, I might get burned. The bears who tried 10x on the futures market probably got burned already.
2290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keep your emotions balanced especially regarding Bitcoin on: January 13, 2023, 03:56:20 PM
Can't help myself celebrating as well when BTC goes up, I would even gamble more when my money increased its value. It gets me motivated but may also spend more. Happens probably too many investors also.

Emotions are hard to control when something happens that is to be happy or sad. This is why emotion is among to discuss in the trading tutorials. Today as BTC move more than $19k, my plans multiply also.  Cheesy
2291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: January 13, 2023, 01:32:25 PM
But people still uses A.I in trading and are making huge profits.

Do you mean a Trading Bot here? If that is, I think we can't compare it to an AI as trading bots follows the algorithm based on how the user set it up, in other words just follow the set command of its user. Different from the literal AI that no need for such manual setup command but instead will adopt based on the market trend and will execute the best possible trading actions on a given trend.

So why do you think such can't be made especially in football whereby all records, team performance, number of corners, team with the most ball possession, total number of match won are always uploaded online immediately after each game or even during the game.

Because regardless of any professional technical sports analysis, sports results can't be predicted accurately.

Maybe the Moneyline can be predicted at a higher rate by these AIs but what about other betting options such as handicap, point spread, total, and other betting options? Not all bettors always bet on Moneyline. There are lots of betting options each sport leagues.

Making AI useless when it comes to predicting the outcome of a match. And also the ChatGPT AI needs an update. Anyone would be able to see it through its replies when asked about matches. It couldn't pull the data it needs, all the more with these betting options.

Bookies may not also want AI to give any information about matches. One that I can imagine that bookies might do in order for AI to not work is to prevent the spider bots from crawling onto thier websites. Avoid them from indexing any information, I'm sure they have the grounds for doing so.
2292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you stacking up on? on: January 13, 2023, 09:31:48 AM

Matic has been growing even in the bear market which is why I am trying to grab more of it because there are also companies adopting the Polygon chain. There are others that I have bought but it's the Matic that I have been staking up among the altcoins. Jsut buying every time it dips back below 0.80 as I'm still unsure if I have to grab a ton of it since this slight jump in BTC price might just be a bull trap again as it always did in the past.
2293  Economy / Gambling / Re: Jackbit.com | Top Crypto Casino & Sportsbook on: January 13, 2023, 09:08:05 AM
Welcome to bitcointalk.org

Although it does have a similar look to some casinos we've seen before. It looks very legit. It only needs a bit of promotion in the forum which I guess you have plans also like campaigns. Was wondering if you have plans to have internal exchange. Depositing stablecoin and perhaps I wanna play safe using Doge?
2294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 13, 2023, 08:30:42 AM

April 15th, they move the fight closer which is good. Ryan says Tank is prolonging his inactivity while he wanted to fight him without tuneup.  Great to see them finalize the date because we're all sick of them avoiding each other. Whoever falls anyway fans will be cheering again. They are still young and who knows this will go further than a rematch because of fans' demand.
2295  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did Miss El Salvador cause the Bitcoin price to spike last night? on: January 13, 2023, 06:41:55 AM
She didn't cause the pump but certainly, she promoted Bitcoin.
The inflation data reported recently made the pump of BTC says analysts so there must be truth to it. But she did a good timing for doing this while BTC is going up.

They really tell the world that they are the first to have adopted BTC as a legal tender and made BTC part of their culture as this is supposed to be a cultural dress-up.
2296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I keep my BNB or Sell it? on: January 12, 2023, 07:25:08 PM

Hi, I'm new to here. So just want to ask your help or guide.

I have currently 800$ worth BNB. These are got from NFT that I sold back months ago that I got from airdrop. So what i need to know should I convert it to stable coin or should I invest it for bitcoin? Because my friends say that BNB don't have a future anymore. So I'm fully worry about this.
Indirectly the BNB assets that you have are the result of airdrops where you get them for free.
Even though it is obtained for free, the amount of $ 800 is quite a number and not small.
If indeed you are not sure about BNB and are going to sell it to be reinvested then my advice is better to invest in Bitcoin which has a clear future than buying a stable coin.
Indeed, in a stable coin it will be safer and it is very unlikely to suffer losses but it is also less likely to be able to get a profit.
I think this suggestion you can consider first.

Basically, he already made money because he got it as an airdrop. Nothing to fear IMO, I would certainly try my trading skill if this is mine. Buy BTC with it and trade on BTC/USD.

Since the market is becoming bullish, it will be good to keep it a little longer to make a profit. BNB is still a good token for the long term. BNB has use cases like transaction fees in the network or fees in Binance which means this token has demand. It's up to OP to keep it or sell it.
2297  Economy / Economics / Re: Twitter could launch in-app ‘coins’ to help creators make money on: January 12, 2023, 06:12:45 PM

Damn. Not a word about Doge. If anyone can make money on Twitter, It's time to reactivate your old account and get ready for they might airdrop some of those coins.  Yes, abuse of this rewards system will be discovered by the most adventurous users. It will come since there is motivation.

It will be cool to see if the coin will also be listed in the market, this will really be big knowing that almost everyone we know today is on Twitter.
2298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: January 12, 2023, 05:28:43 PM
That Khabibs coaching retirement has spoiled all my plans Cheesy Few weeks ago I have placed a bet on Makhachev vs Volkanovski fight (try to guess my bet lol). Now, as Khabib is no longer behind gaming controller and does not manage Makhachev in a "video game", I am a bit worried of loosing my money (I wonder of bookies have corrected their odds). Lets watch how Umar Nurmagomedov performs this Sunday without his bro.
Do you know that growing cucumbers and tomatoes is one of Khabibs businesses? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ke0jMM_d7WE or google it. This is not the first time he is using that joke (if he jokes). I know that he really has that kind of business (in Dagestan) and has delegated it to one of his relatives.

Khabib is probably going to take himself absolutely away from the fighting. Now it is a little hard to say that Islam Makhachev is still going to be as effective as before even without Khabib. After all, he was a great inspiration for Islam Makhachev. And the support he can give to Islam Makhachev from the side of the octagon is absolutely unbelievable.

As far as I know and remember Khabib did say that he was going to do business with sheep and other animals as well when he retired. I am not going to be surprised if he has some kind of business like with sheep and vegetables which is actually quite big.

Sound like a nice way to retire and just keep himself out of the public. He promised to retire and so he did. We may have to forget about him getting back inside the cage. He has nothing to prove anyway even his best protege Islam proved it also.

The same result also if Connor fights Khabib, he might be able to make a career in boxing like Silva and perhaps Logan will be able to hype thier fight on PFL.
2299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why retail dont like xrp ? Are you xrp army ?what about garlinghouse on: January 12, 2023, 06:21:20 AM
Theres no problem witg xrp in terms of utility in fact its much faster than bitcoin and less fees. However they are fully centralized. If you dont want to get caught on a massacre once they did it then better avoid it right? Anything centralized could turn away anytime and thats a fact. Take a look on what happened on other projects like FTT, this is a big fish but yet got died in the process. We never knew when these things would occur and it will be anytime and we sont have a clue for it.
And that is the risk those that are investing in centralized coins are taking, many investors believe that since XRP has been in the market for so long that somehow it is immune to such a fast disappearance, but we know better, any centralized coin can disappear quite quickly if the management of the coin has been deficient, and 2022 was the perfect year to illustrate this point, so it is not really that surprising XRP has been losing ground against other centralized coins over the last years.

Not only that but because XRP is also associated with the company Ripple which faced legal challenges from SEC over its classification of XRP as security, people didn't like it. It makes the token more volatile every now and then whenever there is an article coming out as an update on the legal issue.

Any investor will be caught in the middle while there is a battle between the government and Ripple which they better left this token.
2300  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX Exchange might be brought back online - Would you use it again? on: January 12, 2023, 04:59:19 AM
Affected users or investors would only be just simply minding on getting their funds or investment back and on the time that it would happen then im 101% sure that they would flock and stay away with this company.
If i were to ask then i wouldnt really be trusting up the second time.Once trust been broken then it would be hardly to be given back. They have done something which is something that shouldnt be done.
You cant assure that it wont be happening on the second time.I cant blame out for those affected users or investors to have that final decision or even into those potential customers.
They might be showing off on things that should be done but it wont really be that enough.

It wouldn’t be run by SBF anymore. It would be run by new management and eventually later if it succeeds and has good revenue it would be sold to another company. And then someone like Binanace or Coinbase or someone else would buy it.

Obviously nobody would trust the exchange anymore if it was run the by same clowns. But if it had different management then people might regain trust. The brand is basically the only thing of value. If MtGox came back online many would use it because of the popularity of the name.

They can promote FTX but it's always going to be remembered by users. This is the same as the casinos with scam accusations, there will be doubts about it which is why FTX may have to prove and refund the investors who lost money. Rebuilding the reputation will not just cost money.

It's easier to develop a new exchange without so much money needed probably less than $10M compared to an exchange that even the teens today will remember how badly it crashed the market.
