Added 6 non powered risers. Have never tried them.

i need x1 x16 not those x16 x16, length 25cm
2282  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Antpool mined 2 Blocks in 3 Seconds? on: February 24, 2017, 07:55:33 AM
so this explain why the numbers of block per day is higher some times, the average is supposed to be 2016 per two weeks, but we have not even once the number of blocks under the so called "average", it's always above that point

but i can't find a chart about the movement of the average block every two weeks, which i suspect is higher than 2016
2283  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitstamp ATH 1180$ and rising!!! on: February 24, 2017, 07:47:20 AM
i would not get overexcited as usual to only discover that i was only a delusional, when the dump will begin again

a reasonable target is now 1500, or the next mental barrier, i can safely say that there will be a play in the $1200-$1500 range

i understand that here the big pump is always possible, but if we can really go that high it will fall even quickly later, i don't like that, but i guess it's good if you can predict it and sell at the top...

Register - BitcoinDota.com

i would be more interested in starcraft. if anything there is something like this coming for starcraft?

and i would suggest a low entry payment for the final price, would attract more people to play, you can arrange something with teamliquid

dude just look at the marketcap, it's a joke yet, bitcoin should be worth in the hunderd billion at least not 20B or less, the price will be much higher

current value is still the beginning, people are still not aware about the limited supply of bitcoin, i see users on the web thinking that bitcoin can 't grow because it is unlimited

probably the rumors about removing the 21M cap created some confusion
2286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Going Mainstream Banks Are Disappearing on: February 24, 2017, 07:38:54 AM
Bitcoin can't go mainstream, until the miners adopt segwit, and lightening network&tumblebit are implemented, otherwise which mainstream will like current slow speed?

That's correct but I wonder when they are going to implement segwit as its been quite a while and they keep giving us false news about its implementation.

segwit is implemented already since 0.13.1 if i'm not mistaken, the problem is the activation, and without consensus you can't activate it, we need 95% to activate it

but miners are not pro segwit and will keep delaying in the hope of another solution...meanwhile bitcoin can't scale, we are lucky that this pump is not because of more adoption, otherwise N° of TX would be much higher...
2287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption in Africa: Bitcoin solving problems in the country on: February 24, 2017, 07:34:05 AM
if bitcoin there can dominate the economy and destroy their dirty governement, they might solve their economy ccrysis,

but if you think about it, it's not different than other country giving them help economically, bitcoin is that you are burrowing money from other with it

the other pump for you and you becoem rich, the same will apply for poor country
2288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this a plausible theory for a network spam attack? on: February 24, 2017, 07:05:26 AM
at that point isn't better for them to just attack the network with 51%? i see no sense here

A 51% attack is a once-off basically. If you do it successfully, the users will simply swap to a different mining algorithm which will render all of the attacker's expensive hardware worthless, so you had better make bank.

Looking for less disruptive, sustainable ways to earn extra is therefore more sensible.

That said, this particular "attack" is pointless for the reasons I mentioned above.

how can users simply swap to a different algorithm when it require an hard fork, and there will be never a consensu for this?

if the 51% of nthe net decide for a 51% and the remaining not, i doubt those 49% are going to agree to lose all their asic sha256 for a new algorithm
2289  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1200 on: February 24, 2017, 07:00:55 AM
it's above $1200 already, but i remember the peak of 2013 higher than this, like around $1260-80? i could be wrong though

this time the dump can't be under $1k anymore, the next dump should be between $1200 and 1500, this make $1000 the new bottom

According to the sound meter on my phone it shows 64db at 3" from the fan, and about 44db at about 3 feet away from the miner.  It is not an annoying sound, it is a very nice home miner.  So far my favorite of the ASIC rigs I have played with or used.

can you tell me if there is a switch, or you just plug it in the psu and it run?

only pcie power plugs, no switch

Felixbrucker is correct, there are no switches on the miner.  You can turn it on and off by the PSU power switch.  Not idea if you are trying to share the PSU with a GPU rig.

yes this is the issue, if i turn the psu on the miner turn on but then i need to press the switch of the motherboard to turn that on also, which usually will turn on the psu...

normally the psu isn't working if you just turn on its switch but if the asic require the electricity it will switch it on like you when you turn on the MB right?

i have had connected it like that, it wont work, your mb will have to connect the two pins form the 24 pin connector internally

what do you mean? can i just switch on the motherboard first and plug the asic later into the psu?
what i mean:
psu connected to mb and miner -> switch on the mb and the miner will turn on as well
psu connected to mb and miner -> switch on the psu and nothing will power on (besides when the mb auto powers on after it lost power)

ah, then it work normally, i just plug in the psu and then turn on the MB, the psu is always on, i never shut down it completely

not sure about vega 10 rx 580 and vega 11 rx 590, look like they will be expensive card to match 1070 and 1080, the difference in performance would not be that far

I just received my tracking number from Baikal.  So you just have to be patient.  Baikal is working through the orders and will get them out to us.  If this is your first Giant I think you are going to like it.  It is a pretty nice miner.

Whats the noise level of a miner?  I imagine it can't be very loud since it only used roughly 250 watts, but am curious.  Also, does each one take 2 8 pin connectors?  I will need to look for a PSU that has 6 8 pin connectors to power my 3 in that case.

some video on youtube say 50db other 70db

someone have a comparison between the 1060 3gb and the 6g version? is the 6gb version 10% faster on all algo?

Hi
I tested it, in Zcash is 8% faster the 6GB version, not worth it, i finally buy 3gb g1 versions, but they are less power efficient than the 1070, but at half the cost, they produce about 50 more two 1060 than one 1070.

so, depends on  your power bill/cash availability ratio hehe Grin

yeah i'm building another rig with 1060 this because i did a simple math with the current profitability and the 1070 is not good anymore

the difference in profit between a 1070 and a 1060 is very low now, it's around $15 per month with 0.16 cent electricity

$15 per month but you pay $200 more for the gpu, this mean 12 months roi to overcome the difference

the 1070 was good when a single one was doing $3-5 or more per day not $1.5 like now...

Did you guy created a nexus.conf in appdata?

This is what you need to put in it:
llpallowip=127.0.0.1:9325
unified=1
mining=1

yeah but i followed the old sample

which is rpcallowip, rpcpassowrd, rpcuser etc...

it work now, where i cna find the correct network hash of this?

My question is how much does 1 Huh
As I said, it is really hard to count it, because it depends on luck a lot.
But I would say with 100MHs you can find a 1-2 blocks (17NXS per block) per day and one Radeon R9 390 can do aprox. 40Mhs (you get more particular numbers if you let the miner run for a while). Wink

from where you calculated that? the diff in this coin is confusing, i can't tell if the nethash is 300GH or that is the diff, it say "hashdiff" in getminigninfo

I dont have a comparison unfortunatelly, but I have also been interested in this and it seems that the 6gb is more like 5-7% better. 10% difference is probably too much. But if anyone knows more please fix me Smiley

then not worth the extra money i think
