1301  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price 1800$ on: May 17, 2017, 06:34:43 AM
Next stop is $2300...get them or miss the train Wink

you think they will repeat the same pattern from sub $100 to above $1000 with the $1300 target and then continue to $2800 like we have done now?

not sure would be very predictable and boring, since i don't think there is any manipulation now, i believe this is a natural grow, i doubt that the value will follow the same way as before
1302  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 400 watts of free electricity. What miner to use ? on: May 17, 2017, 06:22:26 AM

i think it's better to wait for bitmain to release the new antminer s10 or s11 with better efficiency, i hope they make more model for lower consumption too

Gonna be a fairly long wait for something like that - there is no more "catch up to the state of the art" allowing new MUCH higher efficiency models every year or less, we're now looking at having to follow the "state of the art" norm that is a lot closer to "new process node every 4-5 years or so" instead.

Also, the next two or three process nodes are running into major issues, as the major semiconductor makers hit the end of the road on being able to keep pushing silicon to smaller feature sizes - Intel and IBM have both stated that "10nm is the end of the road for pure silicon" - this is likely to slow the "new node cycle" noticeably at least for a while.

Bitmain at this point has no REASON to bother releasing a miner based on a new chip, even if they are working on a more efficient model for the future, as they are already selling THE most efficient model on the market.
What they need to do is some serious work on making the current S9 models A LOT MORE RELIABLE - both the S7 and S9/R4 (and to a lesser degree the T9) have shown a lot lower reliability than the S5 did.

I could see a small possibility of them releasing a "S9 lite" type model, with only 2 hash boards and resulting lower power consumption, but am not holding my breath on such a device.

if they keep waiting before releasing another one, they will lose profit in the end, right now miners are increase the diff at insane rat, because there is a lot of room for profit

but will not last unless the bitcoin value continues to grow also at insane rate, within one year or two bitmain will be forced to released another one if the value is still below $2k
1303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We are paying miners $5000, undeservedly on: May 17, 2017, 05:46:52 AM
you two are a bit off topic here because this topic is all about today, May of 2017 when block reward is 12.5BTC not some far away future when block reward is very small like 0 for example and miners need fees to compensate for their costs.

it doesn't matter the principle is the same, my point was that slowly the fee paid is replacing the total reward for miners, day by day

while one is reducing the other is increasing

the way it look like it now it seems that the total amount of fee that will be payed will slowly replace completely the total emission per day

now at 1800 coins per day with 300 btc paid for fee, by the time the reward is 0, miners will have again 1800 coins in fee, i see nothing wrong with this

Once block reward goes to 0 will difficulty so drop allowing quicker processing of transactions?

Why could that not be implemented now? Decrease block time, remove block reward for these blocks and have the difficulty for these type of blocks really low for quick processing? When a block with a rewards scheduled the difficulty shoots up.

difficulty will not drop because the value will be much higher than what we have today, you can't change the difficulty like that it's based on the hash of the total mininers, one can only work on the block size to reduce the fee

all other also require hard fork and will never be made, the block time reduction for example would lead to more orphan...
1304  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Coin Cap on: May 17, 2017, 05:43:18 AM
hackers can't hack bitcoin like that, bitcoin is based on consensus, the hacker if he want to remove the cap need to run his own fork and basically making his altcoin

block are essentially files they are needed to record transactions, when you solve one another is created, the coins are the reward for each block currently at 12.5 per block
1305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Monitoring WannaCry hackers' bitcoin addresses in real time on: May 17, 2017, 05:38:20 AM
Now how they will spend their hard earned hacking money, considering the addresses are known and probably are blacklisted everywhere?

Putting the coins through a mixing service most likely.

Would say they mix the coins a few times before they move the coins to an exchange to convert them into alt-coins or cash then repeat the cycle and so that no one can follow the route.
Either that or sell them to someone in person/generate new wallet keys before mixing them.
That or buy giftcards

they don't need to do that they have two option

sending them to an unknown or small exchange without mixing, the exchange will not even care about those address i can bet my ass on that

selling those coins privately in real life, likely the buyers will not be aware about the blacklisting of these address

1307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.14.1 Released on: May 17, 2017, 05:23:27 AM
Downloaded 4 days ago and i am on 52%, unbelievable, nodes must have isdn connection.

it's note about other nodes, it's your fault, you probably have a slow ssd and connection speed, next time it's better if you save the whole blockchain as a backup, will be easy to restart the whole process

1308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the anonymity of Bitcoin causing problem globally ? on: May 16, 2017, 08:55:40 PM
Bitcoin is not anonymous but if you are clever you can cover your tracks using other coins and exchanges. And governments are very opposed to anonymous crypto. I see a battle coming in the future over this issue.

not exactly true, bitcoin transaction are not anonymous, but the identity behind who is sending those transaction is very well anonymous, until he link his name to the address by shipping something to his home address for example

until that happen there is no way you can tell who is behind any of those address

in "Bitcoins" because it can't be traced

Put some time to research, how much people become prison dreaming in it.

i suspect they exchanged and transfered to their bank account, if they used directly bitcoin for payment, there is no way to know who they are, unless they sent it to the police directly, which were under cover to caught them
1309  Economy / Economics / Re: How to make a GOOD prediction? on: May 16, 2017, 07:43:17 AM
i just follow the demand, and if the value stay for a very long time at the same price you know that a pump or an increase is coming, you know that the bottom is touched

but you will never know how high that increase will go, also following the good news help in bitcoin, or any alt, they are a good indicators for an imminent pump the same for bad news and a dump
1310  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How to start mining in 2017 on: May 16, 2017, 07:40:09 AM
unfortunately no cheap hardware is so efficient to give you only $1 per day and have you pay almost zero for electricity because of almost no consumption

you need an asic that do 1.5 tera and consume less than 100 watt, there is only the s9 that can give you a decent return with 5 cent electricity
1311  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Will Go To 1800 - 1900 USD This Summer And Then Go Down on: May 16, 2017, 07:32:53 AM
why it should go down? just because you think the value is too high? or increased to fast? both are not true, first the value increased only by 40%, we had bigger increased in the past

remember the $200-->$400 or the $400 --->$700?, 40% is nothing not a bubble for sure i can say that 40% is a natural grow due to more adoption

many are still accustomed to the pump and dump of early days of bitcoin and can not see that the price will increase and be rock solid bat this current rate from now, due to more people accepting bitcoin
1312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will "WannaCry" attacks bode ill for BTC? on: May 16, 2017, 07:29:10 AM
the value on the market speak for itself, if these ransomware were a problem and a threat for bitcoin, the investors would not invest what they have invested so far

people are not so stupid to think that if someone use bitcoin for criminal activity then bitcoin will be useless, that was a thing of the past i remember some panic dump because of this reason some years ago, but now they learned
1313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin becoming so god damn slow? on: May 16, 2017, 06:09:44 AM
So a person wanting to use the currency must more or less be some kind of wallsreet trading expert and follow the market fees daily to use this to pay every now and again, gotcha.

paid 1$ for a 130$ transaction, seems fair enough, banks take less and its instant

absolute horrorshow.

the same bank that ask you to pay $25 or $50 in some case to send money to your friend abroad when he need only $25 or less? bank aren't better than bitcoin in terms of fee

also with bank you are trusting a third party, and there are many horror story about bankrupcy and people losing everything, i would never hold anythign in a bank nowadays

besides..bitcoin have its advantage, the only disadvantage is micro transaction for now and it's not the thing preventing bitcoin from getting bigger
1314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: May 16, 2017, 06:04:55 AM
Actually the gov's have very little say, they just don't realize it yet. Its what the people decide it is not the government.  Those govt types need to start looking for new jobs and can I suggestthey look in the Crypto sector ha ha

Don't write the governments off like they don't know what Bitcoin is. They are very well aware of what Bitcoin is and how it works, and that they and their corrupted mafia banks are completely outruled. It's not for nothing that certain countries hold a defensive/aggresive stance against Bitcoin. In case of China, they absolutely hate everything that allows people to move wealth from their country to another. Bitcoin is perfectly suitable for that job, and that's exactly why I don't believe China will ever approach Bitcoin in a friendly manner.

why chian should pose a stance agaionst this when other country in asia are not doing the opposite? i mean in japan with bitcoin you could do the same you can move your wealth outside of japan, but still the government accepted it as a currency

you are forgotting that bitcoin allow also the contrary, to move money from abroad to your country, and i suspect this is the reason why japan decide to allow bitcoin, it can increase the income money

i see bitcoin as a way for country to help each other, by moving funds where are needed
1315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a solution to hackers using Bitcoins for ransoms? on: May 16, 2017, 06:00:44 AM
they didn't say how they are getting infected is this again by a simply email? how they are sending them this malware? don't tell me that they are downloading unknown file from the web...

Secure your computers and back up your data?

almost funny to be said, but apaprently they are not so intelligent if they can't even think about this simple thing to do any kind of malware like this could be rendered useless with a proper secure erase and a backup
1316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Our BURSTCOIN mining farm on: May 15, 2017, 08:07:11 PM
ROI consideration:

315tb / 5tb = 63 drives.

12000 k burst (average) is about 19/20 usd per day.

5tb cost 140/160 usd.

Total investment 9450 usd
Income per month 600 usd.

ROI in 15,75 month (Im not calculating electricity cost)

Just for information..
is this calculator accurate? http://explorer.burstnation.com/calculator
Using this with 315tb, I get a gross income of 1.29 BTC per month or about $2200.

look at the date of the post you quoted, his math was based on the old value of burst, roi is better now

would be good to have something with m2 so i cna get rid of some cables

...oh just noticed that the biostar have an m2 that's great better than the asrock

the problem with this MB versus the h81 pro btc, is the cost of the memory, it cost much more than the old ddr3 8gb...
You mean DDR4? In EU you could buy DDR4 with better price than DDR3 i mean new one not used.

i can buy ddr3 for 40-60 euro 8gb, i can't find for the same price ddr4

SweepCoin is interesting

The Jackpotcoin algo is fast on NVIDIA cards, and not minable by asics..

I think I can create a faster mod if anyone interested...

i'm getting 27 MH with intensity 25

i see that there is an ass hole that is jumping from one coin to another with a very huge farm, i don't know what he want to achieve but someone need to tell him that he is losing money...
