22803  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin investment ? Cloud mining ? on: January 27, 2015, 07:19:15 PM
Hey there, I would like to invest into bitcoin, any good website to earn good money/btc ?
IMO there is no good cloudmining services atm. it is not profitable so the good ones stoped mining

search cloudmining 101 in this forum and you will find a good topic on cloudmining services and scam ones

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=878387.0 - Cloudmining 101
If you been here since last year, you'll know that most of cloudmining out there is not doing real mining. Mostly they use ponzi scheme to run their business. Even big website like pbmining and Zencloud(GAW) have been showing a bad sign.
yes, that is the topic i meant.
from all of them, the one that i used so far is CEX.IO and i liked it because you can buy and sell GHS at any time, which can also be profitable
sadly it is paused due to mining being unprofitable atm
22804  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and Altcoin prices on: January 27, 2015, 07:04:01 PM
It is the common consensus that if bitcoin rises then altcoins also rise. However since altcoins are mostly priced in btc why would the rise of btc cause altcoins to rise? Wouldn't the lower price of btc cause altcoins to rise in btc price? Why is the opposite the common view?
when bitcoin price was dropping many altcoins or at least the top ones had a jump in price and  that was because people was panic converting their bitcoin to altcoins.
22805  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sub $100 in spite of good news? on: January 27, 2015, 06:54:54 PM
i seriously doubt if the price can reach 100$ ish now or at least in near future, it might drop a little before going up though

i think the first couldn't be included in a block or get confirmed because of the transaction's size
22808  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who got burnt today! on: January 27, 2015, 12:42:58 PM
With todays countdown, I quickly bought 1 bitcoin 10 minutes before it ended for £202. 30 minutes later the fooking price dropped and I lost £30.

Lesson learnt  Grin
welcome to bitcoin trading market!

But lets imagine doge goes down from 0.00000066 to 0.00000062... you are losing money
up until today and forseeable future every cryptocurrency like Doge or Bitcoin will have changable price
recently Bitcoin price went from 350$ to 160$ now it is around 250
doge was 80 then went down to 58 then up to 72 and now it is at 60

if you don't know these things yet. don't even come near trading

in that point and you decide to yolo in Dice.

22813  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to regain Electrum-wallet from seed without Electrum? on: January 27, 2015, 08:23:47 AM
https://brainwallet.github.io/#chains
paste your seed in the Paper Backup section, select electrum and input number of Primary Addresses and change addresses, it will generate your addresses and private keys.

do it at your own risk though i have no idea how safe it is. it is open source i think you can check it out

22815  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Using the same seed for Electrum and Electrum LTC? on: January 27, 2015, 05:37:53 AM
Are there are security risks to using the same 12 word seed for Electrum (BTC) and Electrum LTC? What about other forks of Electrum such as Electrum-Doge? For example, I know that it's not a good idea to use the same passphrase for NXT and its clones since it is possible to execute an attack by analyzing the NXT clone's transaction and using it to force a transaction from NXT - resulting in the loss of NXT coins.

I know that I could just generate a new seed, but if it was possible to reuse the seed that I already have then that would be great since it would be one less thing to remember and potentially forget.
i love you so much. i didn't know electrum-doge was released. i am so happy Cheesy

and to answer your question. i don't think it would have any security risk other than if you lose one you lose three wallets.

22819  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: vanity address on: January 27, 2015, 04:47:46 AM
you would better use vanity address just for receiving bitcoin if you want to show off your name and after that transfer the funds to a cold wallet
i agree, it is only good to show off the name, brand or whatever. first time i saw vanity address was for a torrent website donation section which used the website's name
