the 20th is a snap shot it fluxes

but  in 46 hours the machine has mined 0.00530320 btc  and  that is good

it comes to 0.002766 a day  which is 19.92 a day before power

10 cent power is 5.00 a day  so this is making about 15 a day after power.

22885  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Receptacles Vs PDU's? on: November 15, 2017, 05:29:18 AM
Hi Guys...why do some people go for PDU's (which are expensive) compared to receptacles for each machine? Thanks.

Pdus are low cost used on eBay.
22886  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Just bought a used s7. My first miner. Anything I should check? on: November 15, 2017, 04:40:28 AM
https://www.parallelminer.com/product/94-platinum-2400w-power-supply-kit-for-whatsminer-m1-240v/

I have this power supply. I ordered the wrong kit but they said it would still work for the s7. The breakout board only has 2 connections per row instead of 3. How do I hook them up?

did they send 10 cables?
did they send 2 rev:5 x-adapter?

We includes All PCI-E high grade cables 24 inch 16AWG Kit includes:

(1) Delta 2400watt Platinum 94% efficiency Power Supply 208V/240v
(10) 24in PCI-E 6pin to 6pin cable set
(2) Rev:5 X-Adapter, pre install, wired and tested

( 8 ) 3M Rubber foot pads
Dim 8 1/2W x 6 3/4L x 1 3/4H inch

Please note that the breakout board must be installed on the right slot of the power supply in order to power on. The open slot on the left will need to be covered with electrical tape(included) to avoid accidental contact and possibly shorting out the power supply.

as I read the description  I see an error as it say 2 boards not 1 .  they then added a sentence later saying there is 1 board.

I would ask them for the second board   since those boards only have 8 jacks and they gave 10 cables.

they fucked up.

note what  I bolded.

that said if they refuse to correct their in the description

you could order this from them

https://www.parallelminer.com/product/x5-breakout-board-adapter-compatible-with-hp-1200-watt-dps-1200fb/

they should correct the error so the mistake does not happen again
22887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Power supply question on: November 15, 2017, 04:26:05 AM
You don't need other PSU, all you need is configure the cards to work at 150 watts, thats all. There is a guide here in this forum.

this.  person is correct

as only a fool would allow the vegas to pull  more then 200 watts a card.

so if the 4  cards are 200 watts each it  means your psu can work just fine.

although I would try to keep each card under 175 watts

Hm. I wonder if he is using the right cable on the AUC-Miner. It's not a crossover cable from Amazon by chance, is it?

could be they sell them

but  bad auc 3's have been an issue  the avalon thread talks about it

Ya REALLY should be posting this in the Official Avalon thread in Hardware... Canaan monitors it.
The green lights on the miners says they are alive but idling. Will be blue when they are mining.

Wonder if you got some of the un-flashed AUC3 dongles Canaan had a problem with...

yep  I think he did

The B250 D8P is the one you are sending me right?  I kind of couldn't make heads or tails since there's been many boards talked about in these last 3-4 pages... lol Wink

The D8P is a pretty sexy beast.

Hi Guys - I have my avalon 741 all setup.  I'm able to get to OpenWRT webUI.  I was able to configure CGMiner, in the CGMiner Configuration tab.

When I click the CGI Miner API Log or CG Miner Status and I get a bad gateway request.

Any help would be appreciated.  I am willing to throw some coin your way for helping.

edit:

Bad Gateway
The process did not produce any response

I'd check for an avalon thread and see if there's any similar issues....  Seems like an odd problem.. almost as if the controller has a bad flash or something... (missing data maybe?)

okay  yeah  the ONDA B250 D8p  is the one I am sending out.

The avalon  is  broken

the list  of what can be wrong is

shit brick the under powers the rasp pi
shit usb micro cable
shit 5 pin cable.

those 3 can be replaced.  amazon has  the parts

next  bad AUC3  a royal P.I.T.A.  try  the thread or ask minerwarez

next bad inside controller    that you plug in the 5 pin cable  no replacements try  minerwarez
next bad  hash board          that is insdie the miner   no replacements try minerwarez.

also bad psu  at least 1200 watter is needed
last bad internet cable least likely  since you can get to the rasp pi

I have the same problem  and in my case one hash board is dead.

1 board left for two guys.

I have  commitment for 5 boards maybe 6

I will pull trigger  for 10 more.

Yeah the Onda seems  to be the real board

I will be doing more testing with it.

My knock off colorful  has loose pcie connectors

so even though I like the design I think the pcie jacks on mine are not so good.
22892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 15, 2017, 02:15:16 AM
@phil what cpu socket and memory does this board take?

also will you be doing another order?

1151

ddr4

I tested with

 i5 6400t
 i5 7500t

16gb stick of corsair ram

yeah  this  is the mobo

I am going to order 10 more on weds

right now  I prefer the onda b250

there seem to be a lot of  knock offs of the colorful boards.

Has anyone heard of any AMD AM4 socket motherboards being designed that support 8 or more GPUs without risers?  Considering how good Ryzen is at mining while maintaining decent power and temps, I'd vastly prefer to get an AM4 motherboard with support for 8 riser free GPUs if anyone would manufacture them.

Unlikely for the near future, as Ryzen CPUs don't support very many PCI-E lanes and the CPUs themselves are still pretty expen$ive.

Ryzen supports as many or more PCI-E lanes as the ultra budget dual core Intel CPUs that most people are using in their mining rigs. PCI-E lanes aren't that big of a deal if most of the GPUs are running at x1 speed anyways.

The CPUs themselves are definitely an extra investment, but a Ryzen 1700 would pay for itself in 6 months or less and you actually have a good CPU to resell or re-purpose down the road.  Earlier this year we got a deal on 5 x Ryzen 1600s at ~$154 each and paired in the Biostar TB 350 motherboards they have been a wonderful investment.  I know I'm not in the majority, so it's unlikely that anyone will design what I'm looking for, but that doesn't keep me from being hopeful. Smiley

I like my 1800x with this mobo

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157757&cm_re=amd_ryzen-_-13-157-757-_-Product

I am going to build an actual pc with it  and use a lessor gpu.

jack it up with 32gb ram and a 2tb ssd .  maybe make a bbc wallet a btc wallet and a few more.

for now I let it mine

The one thing that scares me is the power supply. If its rated for 2100w and you are seeing a live power draw of almost 2200 at the wall that means they are pushing the crap out of their knockoff power supply. I worry about the longevity of it.

It is a possible issue.
The heat sinks are good quality which  should keep chips okay which should help psu.

My ideas are in a place like the solar array it is cold in the fall and winter.
So this gear should be fine.  But next June July August when it is hot this is going to struggle.

So Have it setup now in a cool spot and you will be fine.

Too good... Just 8 cheapest two fan 1060 6GB videocards cost exactly like the price of the whole rig. I wish there were any reviews for it on aliexpress or here.  BTW, they use PSUs not compatible with 110V outlets even though they offer US plugs.

I'm inclined to say so too. However there are multiple sales of this item, and the seller is reputable. An aliexpress store costs alot to get approved, the chance of seller scammers are much lower with this barrier of entry.

Is there a real risk to order ? does aliexpress protect buyer ?

I did 3 deals

I paid with paypal  5% extra but  paypal protection applied

I did not get a chance to make a video at the solar array

I am going to show its earnings  at nicehash

More info  The miner has mined  for about 20 hours

so 0.002242/20 =  0.0001121 btc an hour

1 day would be       0.0026904
1 week would be     0.0188328
30 days would be     0.0807120
90 days would be     0.242136    x 6400 = 1549

50 kwatts a day x 90 = 4500 x 10 cents = 450

so  1100 back  in 90 days

as we all know  these projections  don't mean much  but  not so bad a deal. with 10 cent power  with 5 cent power a good deal for sure.
