Hi, i recently got Avalon from the distributor in US. But the freakin miner didn't want to mine. It stays at yellow light in the back, and green light in AUC3. In CGminer, the Avalon Device show nothing.

I changed 4 different psu, still no luck.
Here is what it showed in the kernel log. if anyone know what the problem is, please help.

without  a photo  of your gui it is hard to know  if the gear has issues or if the why you filled in the pools has an issue.

We were going through this in one of the other threads but, we got as far as the lights all look good on his auc3 converter, and that there was power to the miners.

He quoted his psu brand and I wasn't positive but the specs looked like they might provide 650 w over more than one rail. ( I wasn't sure because I'm no expert at reading those specs... or much else lol)

I asked for a photo of his setup to make sure he plugged the connector from the auc converter to the miner properly, but it never got posted.

It's the Avalon 741 setup thread, you can find all his previous info

Phil, here is my miner
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1d_82joLnB13-i6SdOsymt7UtwESbhdt4

If you look at the Avalon Device section, there is nothing shown. I changed 4 different PSU already, from 1300W to 1500W. Still nothing.

Edit: added more pictures:

Just checking, if you use the default pools (the ckminer ones), does the unit mine? I've noticed it's exceptionally sensitive to the pool settings in the URL....

Hi John,

So what lights do you see with everything plugged in? On the miners and the auc3 converter.

Are you able to log into the cgminer interface?

How many Avalons are hooked up?

What are you using for a psu?

There's a few things it could be.

So on the Unit themselves as I have two of them I get full green lights.

My power supplies are the following single EVGA 1300 Watt, 2 HP 750 which I split and run 3 to each side and 2 HP 1200 Watt.

All of those configurations give me solid green lights and the status light of what looks to be white.

On the AUC3 I only get green light

I can connect to the Controller and have setup the wifi, setup slushpool which shows that is is live and communicating.

I have dedicated power supplies for my Pi3's, I have two of them so this happens with either of them.

I just don't see any avalon devices in the CGMiner status.

I  have also tried each them with same setup with different cables along with switching out the AUC3's.

Thanks!!

Okay have you tried just running 1 Avalon at a time from the rasp pi? Also the cable from the auc3 to the miner, are you using the left side for input?

There is a chance that the brick you are using to power the rasp pi isn't providing enough power. Using WiFi might also put extra strain on it, not sure. Are you able to try it out with an ethernet connection?

What are you using to power the rasp pi?

Hopefully we can get this sorted

Ya REALLY should be posting this in the Official Avalon thread in Hardware... Canaan monitors it.
The green lights on the miners says they are alive but idling. Will be blue when they are mining.

Wonder if you got some of the un-flashed AUC3 dongles Canaan had a problem with...

True. Can you do the same trick with 741's as A6's by tying them directly into the RPI's io ports, bypassing the stupid AUC?

I didn't realise they had become such a problem. Shitty to get 2 out of 2 bad.

If that's the case get a hold of Canaan through a support ticket, or try to find someone in your country willing to part with a working one.

Which the OP should have started right after the initial troubleshooting was done...

Again, posting their trouble in the Avalon thread would have gotten them to this point much much faster... Had they bothered to read it they would have seen others that had same issue and what the cause is. I believe 1st showed up with some of the ones from huge order f*up in August when Canaan was scrambling to get as many miners made/shipped as possible.
