I remember Fox's coverage after the CPAC results came in and while they mentioned that Rand won it for the 2nd year in a row, they were saying that the main story there was Walker's surge as he came in 3rd I believe. When in reality, the weeks prior they were pumping Walker by interviewing and talking about him like everyday on multiple shows. Very few outside of Paul supporters can see the sheer propaganda hiding in plain sight.

$ 2 4 0 COMING UP

Ain't nothing wrong with dreaming. When things are this hopeless, what else is there?
Somehow newbies are always eager to write such statements. Almost every single "bitcoin is dead" post on this forum comes from a new account.

The chances of it being a newbie are slim in the extreme. It's the same old psycho dullard droning away. It is such a dead cert I pretty much auto ignore any newbie in this section without bothering to read. Sorry real newbies.
I kinda get a kick out of how many sox are opened and am mesmerized by the sheer derangement it must take to be such a rabid troll of any forum out there. I've been on certain forums for many years and I've never seen one like this. Can anyone comprehend what this person's life looks like in years to come...

Rand Paul Celebrates Ruling Against NSA's Bulk Data Collection

He was accused of responding too sluggishly and carefully to the Baltimore unrest and last month's drone revelations. No one can accuse Kentucky Senator Rand Paul of avoiding the New York appeals court decision that found the NSA's bulk data collection program to be a violation of the Patriot Act. Within minutes, Paul's social media accounts were turned over to the NSA story.

"This is a monumental decision for all lovers of liberty," Paul said in a later statement. "I commend the federal courts for upholding our Constitution and protecting our Fourth Amendment rights. While this is a step in the right direction, it is now up to the Supreme Court to strike down the NSA's illegal spying program. It is the duty of elected officials to protect the rights of all Americans, and Congress should immediately repeal the Patriot Act provisions and pass my Fourth Amendment Preservation and Protection Act. I will continue to fight to prevent the Washington Machine from illegally seizing any American's personal communication."

Rand Paul's Digital Chief Says Plea for Ideas Is Crowdsourcing

Political campaigns are notoriously opaque. They're also typically pretty top-down affairs despite staffers' insistence that "It's all about the grassroots."

So it was a bit surprising to see Vincent Harris, the young entrepreneur heading digital for GOP presidential hopeful Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, asking supporters on Twitter for ideas.

Specifically, he asked followers of his @VincentHarris account on Wednesday what the candidate might do better in digital media. In a related post he wrote, "I am around always to listen. Have had folks as young as 14 send in great tips to vincent (at) http://randpaul2016.com Please keep 'em coming."

This request might seem odd to some. Isn't Mr. Harris, the expert the Paul camp wrested from the claws of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, supposed to know what to do already? Mr. Harris's Austin-based consultancy, Harris Media, is depicted in a recent Politico article as a group of seriously no-nonsense dudes (and gals). In one scenario, Mr. Harris blows off a couple Facebook reps in favor of a guy from Meerkat. A photo of the Harris Media staff accompanying the article looks like a promo shot for the next CW drama, but with all the tough guys front and center.

If any of you geniuses have any great ideas, be sure to hit him up.

There has to be a way with today's social media to track down the guy that puts up the charts and ask him why he chose that order for the graphic.

You don't need to even ask him, if you look at the maths for these polls you'll find the percentages are full of shit, right below it says it's out of 1,000 polls, they could have just as easilly gathered a bunch of supporters to vote for the candidate they want in rather than done any meaningful polling.

The more you look at history and learn proper mathematics the more you hate these fuckers.

I don't see the point of the criticism.  Isn't the chart intended to show how several Repubs play against one Dem?
There's been more gruesome attempts to omit showing any of Rand's polling strengths while keeping the discussion and attention on Bush, Rubio and Walker, all of which will be a win for the establishment and war machine.

Great news but it's a stretch to think these guys won't find a way around it or take to the Supremes and pressure them into letting it be.

Geller's actions were a REACTION against violent jihad.

You could argue that jihad is a reaction against western (and Israel's) foreign policies towards oil rich countries in the middle east (not that it can used for justify nutcases like ISIS). Even the former MI5 chief admits the Iraq invasion increased the terrorist threat to the UK.

Quote
“Arguably we gave Osama bin Laden his Iraqi jihad so that he was able to move into Iraq in a way that he was not before.”
Baroness Manningham-Buller
I don't see the logic behind this. How could jihad be a response to anything the west has done of Shariah has been around for so long?

Yeah Sharia has been around for hundreds of years, wasn't until the last decade or so that 'jihad' has become so prominent. Not saying western intervention created it but it's certainly been a catalyst. Some of the leaders of ISIS were tortured in Abu Ghraib so I can't see how you couldn't come to that sort of conclusion.
Back when the taliban was fighting the soviets is when lot's of these guys were given american weaponry and it's been a revolving door ever since. Give them the tools and then occupy their sacred areas and before ya know it they go on offense against you. It's a great tool for the military industrial complex to keep the money flowing as well as the trial and error for developing newer and advanced weapons.

The frustrating part of it all is the herd of boobs out there that fall for these establishment types in every primary and general election out there. The shoot oneself in the foot factor looms large. Very few does their homework to see what is going on behind the scenes when it's quite easy to dig for information these days.
2309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never again be priced over $300. on: May 07, 2015, 07:04:09 PM
it's not that hard to go over $300 but definitely not in the comming months. maybe end of the year or beginning next year. long term trend is up. short term doesn't look so bright.

Im not sure end of year price will go over $300. When price drop its like instanly but when price want up its hard. You see 3 month price stable on range 200-240
I'm wagering we'll see some interesting action sometime this summer and/or the fall once the Winks get their clearance from the SEC. There's so much potential for legions of demand entering the market coming up here. It'll be the gift that keeps on giving.

I figured the action would pick up over there as the engines get warmer after the launch. It's also nice to see some veteran posters showing up again.

Everyone: Wanna help Rand on one of the largest talk shows in the USA?
Glenn Beck Presidential Letter Grade Survey Poll Round #5. Go Vote!

Let's see if we can push Rand to the top this time or at least get him an A grade. He's been B+. I believe Cruz is the only candidate to average an A in these polls.

They will be discussing the poll on this Friday's show. Voting continues up until the time they discuss it on Fri.

hxxps://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2016GopMAY15 - change the xx to tt and fill it out from far and wide. The audience is made up of millions of conservatives and the social ones that are likely acceptables of the likes of Cruz, Huckabee and Rubio. Let's get down and make this something that Beck (who's cordial w/ Rand unlike his dad in the past) reports on across the board.

The survey is wanting you to grade all these people from A+ to F and everything the rest down the line with the known necons deep in the F territory. Help out if you're obliged to. It's pretty fun tho.

How did GBTC react to the dump? Could they be added to chartbuddy? We need to know the REAL price for BTC. Why can´t i find their REAL price on any other exchange? Could somebody please explain again? I don´t understand!   Embarrassed

GBTC data from OTCQX page at end of each day:

Date             day's price range      day's volume
---------------+----------------------+-------------
2015-05-04        37.98 --   42.00               765
2015-05-05        55.00 --   94.86               435
2015-05-06         N/A  --    N/A                125

According to a post on the SecondMarket Observer thread, when OTCQX updates the GBTC quote page, it ignores any trades smaller than 100 shares (10 BTC).  That is why the daily price range for today is shown as "N/A--N/A" ("not available") even though 125 shares were traded today.  Also, OTCQX has the same working hours as NYSE.

I don't think one can get better data from other sources; they can only get it from OTCQX.  Paying clients of OTCQX apparently have access to the trade log; perhaps someone can find some such client who would leak some hints...

EDIT: by the way, OTCQX is not like an ordinary stock or bitcoin exchange.  They seem to be more like a central database that collects and merges information from registered brokers; it is the brokers who keep the client's shares and execute the trades.  Right?

The bloomberg feed seems to display the complete dataset. I don't have access to this, but saw a screenshot in this thread a few days back which showed the various, small Asks I had set which were not visible elsewhere.

I sold 60 shares today at $65. Depending on which view you look at, that is either displayed or not.

That said, in 3 days we have _not_ exploded upwards. It would take a single 1000 share seller to put the 50000 share Maxim order at $35 to the top of the list.

I played it safe, took the 50% gain with most of my remaining stake, and called it a day.

Continuing to watch with interest.
I can tell you're walking on sunshine by dealing some of your shares for top shelf prices and I commend you for that. Things are just getting started on GBTC and so much more is likely to happen going forward to run the price up. Barry made his promise and I'd say we're in the building phase of that happening.

400 k of new longs opened! Seems promising and bullish.

I'm buying.

Count me MF in, i´m buyin all i can, just like every other day! Everytime longs increase it is bullish , same thing when shorts increase=bullish. When longs or shorts go down it is also bullish.
I learned that in the trading school of inca. What could go wrong?

Yep, UT is another crockpuppet of the bearcrapper we all know as trollcrotch who has veered off the path of righteousness once again. I sincerely hope you go to confession and get help among the sacraments in a proper setting.

2316  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC/USD Short Term outlook on: May 07, 2015, 04:18:48 AM
So, is there any professional trader around here care to comment on this? Do these moving averages indicators work in real life as far as price prediction goes? I'm a complete dumb ars on the subject and always thought it's a gambler's excuse to predict trends.

The main question is whether 'real world' indicators can be used for Bitcoin. There are two camps, basically: People who claim BTC is only influenced by TA (and thus self-fulfilling prophecies), and those who claim that regular TA just doesn't work when it comes to BTC.

Ok, thanks... I better leave this thread before I completely embarrass myself.  Smiley
Just buy one of these and you'll do fine : http://www.amazon.com/Mattel-30188-Magic-8-Ball/dp/B00001ZWV7
I have one and it always (nearly) tells me the answer I'm looking for plus my trades skew on the positive w/ a prayer said. Grin Can't go wrong.

There are bids to buy @ 650 USD per BTC

http://www.otcmarkets.com/stock/GBTC/quote
Yet, the asks aren't legit enough for longstanding shareholders to bite yet. But, seeing bids this high when this thing is just getting wet is telling you that premiums are the going rate for paper coins. Much can happen on either side of the isle in the next few weeks or months. While this get's underway, the Swedes will have their thing going on on the 18th and then the BitLicense and the subsequent Winkstuff afterwards leading to a boost or more in price.

Apparently, Ron did no further research nor sought any sound minds regarding bitcoin to add this to his advice for the next downturn. He had that recent interview on bitcoin w/ that gal from coin.mx (that I posted in the press section) but failed to go any further. Typical older white guy w/ wealth that is overwhelmed or can't understand the next wave hotness.
2319  Other / Politics & Society / Ron Paul investment ad predicts Currency Crisis, Civil Unrest on: May 07, 2015, 04:02:49 AM
While Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul continues his bid for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, his father is starring in an ad that warns darkly that the United States is teetering on the brink of a devastating financial crisis whose effects can only be avoided by following his investment advice.

“Hi, Ron Paul here,” the former GOP congressman and two-time Republican presidential candidate says in the radio ad published by BuzzFeed. “Today I have an urgent message for every American who’s retired or thinking about retiring soon. You see, our own government’s disastrous policies have now put you, me and everyone over the age of 50 at great risk. Sometime in the near future, we’re going to have yet another financial crisis. This one won’t be solved with bailouts, and it will hit seniors the hardest.”

The 79-year-old warns of a coming economic armageddon — one not backed up by mainstream economic projections. According to a recent report from Moody’s Analytics, the U.S. economy is expected to grow 3 percent for the year despite a slowdown due, in part, to an unseasonably bad winter. And the value of the U.S. dollar has increased almost 15 percent from last year.

“I fear there will be civil unrest, a drop in stock prices, pension fund collapses, big changes to Social Security and Medicare, the erosion of personal liberties, bank and brokerage closings and ultimately a major crisis as the U.S. dollar is rejected for almost any nonpaper alternative,” Paul continues.

Ron Paul’s doomsday view could complicate his son’s bid for the GOP nomination as Rand Paul looks to run a more mainstream campaign than did his father, who lost three separate bids for the presidency before leaving Congress and becoming a source of investment advice for apocalyptic thinkers.

Everyone that is serious and not having fun with this will be voting for Rand Paul, no two ways about it. Glad to see that folks outside the perimeter are thinking the same thing. There's one that will change the status quo and the rest that will talk a good game but do nothing outside of what their masters allow. I wish more american 'conservatives' could see the big picture.
