2301  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Two GeForce 9800GX2 Video Cards! One perfect the other not-so-perfect. on: December 25, 2011, 08:00:01 PM
I KNOW one of the cards is perfect, and I'll take some proof-video tomorrow.  Pretty sure somethings wrong with the other card though but I really didn't test it too much.
2302  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Two GeForce 9800GX2 Video Cards! One perfect the other not-so-perfect. on: December 25, 2011, 07:59:09 PM
If you can show me the cards are BOTH working, I will be itnerested. If not, I would like to take one off your hands for a Ageia rig that I am building for someone. Let me know.
Hey I have a BFG PCI Ageia card as well!!! Interested?
2303  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Coming Soon: 5 BTC Casascius Coin on: December 25, 2011, 07:54:04 PM
Sounds nice. I like the thicker coin model. How about a combo option with a few 1 BTC coins and one or two 5 BTC coins Wink?

Any plans to change how they are being sold on ebay? I am fine buying them in BTC but others would likely prefer to use services like ebay. I noticed only one 1BTC coin sold recently on ebay and it was second hand (see http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-BITCOIN-real-physical-Brass-Hologram-CASASCIUS-vires-numeris-2011-aocs-norfed-/220914887123?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item336f8da9d3#ht_926wt_905). It sold for $20, more than double what memorydealers are trying to get for them.

Hmm..  Casascius: the gateway to Bitcoin selling on eBay?
2304  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] Two GeForce 9800GX2 Video Cards and an Ageia Physx PCI Card on: December 25, 2011, 07:50:50 PM
I have two eVGA nVidia GeForce 9800GX2 video cards for sale.  They were run in SLI, and I think one of the cards is dead but one is like perfect.  If you are interested I will post pictures and test them both out.

Asking 25 BTC for the pair.

2308  Economy / Currency exchange / Beware of Mt. Gox Phishing Email on: December 25, 2011, 04:15:05 PM
Hey guys just a heads up I just got an email (in my spam box) from a scammer trying to steal info from Mt. Gox users.  It sucks that whoever sent the email has... my email address... The URL looks like it says HTTPS but when you mouseover it, it's actually HTTP to some mtgix.tk server, total tricky basturds!

Be careful out there bitcoiners!

2309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I0 Guild - Closed for Months on: December 25, 2011, 05:57:28 AM
One of those "Do not open until Christmas" sort of things I suppose.

This is why I always set the auto-payouts on my wallets so I get paid daily.

2312  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help. New to bitcoin mining. Suggestions? on: December 24, 2011, 10:50:58 PM
1) Merry Christmas

2) I totally agree with the others that you should use spare CPU time to mine Litecoins in addition to using your GPU to mine Bitcoins.

3) I was going to suggest a pool but it seems you are using bitminter which is a good choice.

You should give us the spec of your current PC and we can estimate your daily rewards.
2313  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: The TD F 90-22.1 Form for Bitcoin on: December 24, 2011, 10:36:08 PM
But the value of $10,000+... these are not dollar values in our wallets, but bitcoin values.  I thought it was entirely exempt.  So if someone had a trillion warcraft gold, would they have to report it?  If not, then you don't have to report your bitcoin balance.

Quote
aggregate value of these accounts

The fact that the value is in bitcoins, warcraft gold, or Swiss francs (CHF)s doesn't matter.  For U.S. persons, as long as the value exceeds $10K USD and is held in a foreign account the funds must be reported.  If the warcraft gold is stored in your account with a U.S. gaming site, then no -- it would not need to be reported.  Now if your foreign holdings were more than $10K and some of those holdings include linden dollars loaded at Austrian-based VirWox that too would need to show on the FBAR.

Disclaimer: I'm not an tax advisor, accountant, lawyer, etc.

Damn, eh?  I hate the IRS and at least we can hide our bitcoin wallets from them. Smiley

edit: wouldn't it suck if you claimed $100,000 worth of bitcoins on your tax form when the price was $31 per and then the price plummeted?
2314  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Coming Soon]Bitcoin Mining through phone calls. on: December 24, 2011, 10:25:15 PM
what about something like twiends had before where you watched sponsored youtube videos to earn seeds, and people would sit there for hours on end watching awful youtube videos and getting seeds to put into their twitter accounts.  the users got tons hits on their youtube videos!  set it up like feedzebirds and it would be a success.

I love diablo and all of it's clones!  Definitely going to be keeping an eye on this.  I know Titan Quest is Diablo-like and I spent countless hours on that one as well.
2317  Economy / Goods / Re: F/S 75 BTC: Radeon 5970's - excellent condition, known good, free ship on: December 24, 2011, 06:54:17 PM
Hmm.  Great price, I think I might order one.  Personally, though, I think the fans running on auto is better than running at 100% because the fans can only take so much before the bearings wear out.

How many 5970s do you have and how long were they mining for (@ 100% fan)?

Yes either update thread title, non-sticky, or just start paying bounties again, one of the 3! edit: the wonders of PMs! Smiley
2320  Economy / Goods / Re: modded 1TB PS3 slim on: December 23, 2011, 11:02:03 PM
$250 for a PS3 and a TB drive costs $100 nowadays, it's like you are offering this for FREE because they are getting it for cost of hardware alone.
