2301  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: April 21, 2023, 09:57:45 AM
Hi friends, I have some questions for you guys about online casinos
What will you do if you don't know that a online casino will ask you for KYC after winning over 8,000$ on the platform? And you now manage to process with the verification and they failed to pass you? Can you consider such a casino a scam?
Also, imagine you get attracted to an online casino because of the bonuses they offer and you open an account and make your first deposit then you didn't receive the promised bonus, is this an act of scam or not?
I am trying to solve such an issue for someone very close to me and that the complaint he gave, I have no answer than maybe the bonus was canceled already before he made the deposit or there was a minimum deposit requirement.
Any other reasons?
Talking about me personally there are things that I would do in both cases. Reading the terms and conditions at first place would have avoided both the issues.
1. Reading T&C we would have known that there is KYC and if there is any such process then it's better off to clear the KYC at first place and then gamble on the site.
2. Reading T&C we would have known if the bonus is active or not and if yes then we can raise a scam accusation against it.
If the bonus was supposed to be expired then we could make the deposit accordingly.

Going by your opinion, I think it is better one reads the terms and conditions of a casino before getting involved with the casino. In as much as everyone is trying to avoid kyc so it is the casino too would want to know who they are dealing with in accordance to their local law. For them not to default, they demand for your identity to be in the safe side if government agencies comes for them. So it would be in your best interest to either identify with them or you leave them but you rushing to identifying with them as a result of their bonus without going through the terms and conditions of Service is a big blunder and therefore if they withhold your funds demanding for your identity verification, you should comply as well because you signed up for it.
2302  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: April 21, 2023, 09:46:32 AM
As much as there is nothing to lose then I don't see it as a gambling basically because the concept of gambling is staking and when there is staking involved, then there is risk and from the link you presented, it shows the pick is absolutely free and there is nothing to lose from the angle of the player and the fun and enticement of gambling isn't felt.
I think the games over there are just fantasy sports and merely just for entertainment and that isn't gambling.
Looking from the other hand, there are games that looks competitive but has no monetary attachments and just because a game seems competitive with maybe a prize to win doesn't make it gambling.

In as much as gambling involves staking, it also involves the risk of uncertainty as an end outcome of an activity one gets him or herself involved as a result of their commitment through finance or otherwise. For gambling to take place there must be a financial commitment or a collateral of good value in place of the estimated value of the money to pay. With this, then you can say or call it gambling and one thing is that you can not determine the end result as it is probably fair enough for transparency and credibility.

Like I said in my previous post, you predicting the end game result does not mean you are gambling. I believe you are just bringing your knowledge and expertise in play for the benefit of others to get a good profits from your prediction or knowledge.
2303  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Beware of crypto scam on: April 20, 2023, 11:11:02 PM
As an investor whether a newbie or not you should know that the first thing you do upon investing in a project is to do a research on that project to know the team behind the project not just the team, finding out if truly the team they claim to be are genuine or aware of the project just as you have said that most of the team members are just fabricated to get at unsuspecting participants to scam.

Connecting of your wallet to a site which you have no knowledge about is dependent of you. If you choose to connect the wallet with your funds then it is left for you because as a smart investors you should know that creating a fresh new wallet should be the option.
2304  Economy / Reputation / Re: How secure are you when unknown user chats you up? on: April 20, 2023, 10:45:36 PM
I am not afraid chatting with strangers as I already have my ground on that. I never fall fir strangers like that when it comes to having conversations of such nature. It gives me more experience in tackling such situations in the nearest future if any of them comes my way but one thing I know is that i for sure make them give me their information by themselves when we covers. So I do not loose anything if they think they want to scam themselves and not me.

So funny how they use profile pictures of people to wanting to scam people thinking it is that easy to  scam some one just like that only if that person is a new bie in the system that is when the person becomes penetrable by them.
2305  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 0.01 BTC loan defaulted by (MakeMoneyBtc) on: April 20, 2023, 10:18:01 PM
This what I am afraid off and trying to avoid in all ramifications. How can someone borrowed money from another person and ran away from the money, if you know that you can't meet up as stipulated time elapsed, he has to pm the leander to notify him the situational report so the person would be also away and have reasons with the situation and extend the loan to a convenient date for the borrower to pay off his or her loan but running away from it is very bad.

It is very dissappointing such an experience. Borrowing and not being able to meet up payment as agreed is not good I must admit but if it happens unintentional then the borrower should be given a benefit of doubt then if it exceeds the day of grace given then any actions can be metted on the borrower as long as it is within the covers of the law and platform where such agreement took place then is is ok to go  but I see no reason why a borrower who can not meet up with repayment run away. Anyways, this platform has some standards so borrowing would need you having a clear thought over it before making an attempt otherwise your account would go in for it.
2306  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever be afraid of holding? on: April 20, 2023, 09:38:47 PM
It is natural you panicking to selling your assets when you noticed a sudden decline or drop as a result of fud and other factors too more especially when you are holding for a short time.

No investor would be comfortable watching while their assets value decline without taking profit from it or better still taking back their capital while they can to avoid loss.

This is the experience of every newbie.
2307  Economy / Economics / Re: Look for what to invest, not what to eat on: April 20, 2023, 09:10:31 PM
I don't know why some people in this platform are looking for what to eat at the moment, not know that they can invest in a potential projects that will put food on their table, and they will not lack what to eat and what to spend in future. I saw some message in the Bitcointalk.org where some users are trying to sell their account just to get what to eat not knowing that they can use that account to work to get a huge capital that will bring them out from poverty, and make food surplus in their home. I knew some senior members in this forum that started using member rank to work before they get to legendary to spread many investments around the country, because they didn't look for what to eat at the moment than to work hard to used their opportunities to invested in BTC before they became who they are today.
Will you invest now or you will be like that person that is looking for what to eat? It will be favourable if you can change that attitude of selling what will make you great in future just because of what will survive you at the moment. No way you will invest in BTC today and you will not have something good to eat because, investment is like a seed planted in a due season to expect something good in the future. Is it a good thing to invest or is good to continue looking for what to eat?
What do you think.

OP your topic is not bad  but I would like to say something and please do not get me wrong. I was trying to pick out from your post here how to handle the situation but I realized that it is not so as you think. Let me start by saying this,  it is only when you have  been able to satisfy your needs that is when you can be able to concentrate on what ever you want to do. Do not forget that a hungry man is an angry man. So by saying this you should be able to know that where I am driving to but however, there are limits to some certain exercise but when in excess without control then it tends to be a challenge and addiction. So in the modest, you should know that eating has to be controlled so as not to get it over you.

Investment is not a bad idea because with your investment, your capital will be raking some profits for you whenever it is due but you should be able to make good intuition of your investment before going into it.

However, investment does not only mean your money working for you, you sometimes must invest your time in building up your skills, knowledge and other espect of life to gain relevance. Just like OP said here about building your account to a better rank through meaningful activities and contributions here, this is ok to go by as you will benefit from it as time goes on. It is also an investment too and it doesn't require finance for you to start with.
2308  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: April 20, 2023, 08:09:30 PM
Have you heard of Superpicks on DSTV? where you can make predictions and win money without staking your money?
if you have not, check it out. Superpicks.com
My question is can it still be called gambling if it is not played with money?

OP from what I understood from you post here is this; you predicted a game and it happens that the game was a success and you were paid for it, I assume that to be a work and pay exercise where your expertise was brought into function and that I really think I not gambling as you were paid for your expertise which you Serviced them with compared to when you use your own money to gamble, you bet in the sense that you either win or you loose your bet that is what I can tell you is gambling.

So therefore, gambling involves you placing a bet with something tangible in course of gaming and without anything in your name for gaming to win o see that as expertise brought in play so that is not gambling.
2309  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Will there be transition on May 29? on: April 20, 2023, 07:46:48 PM
Our politicians nor dey take us to be anything at all. If not them for don put the democracy wey dem dey see for foreign countries for Naija. Nigeria na very corrupt country, I dey tell you. If not how people wey dey sound and fit go campaign for a sick old crook with drug case to come lead them or even campaign for Atiku wey get bad record too. It just shows that anything goes in naija. Old men nor wan do the right things again. Na cruise we dey now.

Mate, the matter sef tie wrapper o. My friend been dey tell me say Naija don jump from frying pan enter fire I begin laugh.  Seriously let us tell ourselves the truth which way are we heading to? Old men still in the corridors of power  and I was wondering those days when we use to sing we are the leaders of tommorow but my brother the leaders Dem wey dey power that time still dey grapse the power till today and dem never tire for the power. Na the same youths dey vote them put for the same power wey the elders Dem dey.

I just think the youths are really not ready for the revolution and change they  glamour for. The same youths are used to rig election and same youths help them steal ballot boxes so how does the corruption stops, when the youths take part in all these activities do you expect the old men still in power to handover power to the youth?
2310  Economy / Gambling / Re: Housebets.io - The Leading DeFi Sportsbook & Casino on: April 20, 2023, 02:34:55 PM
Welcome mate. Your casino seems to be an interesting one though but I must commend you for your UI as it is very unique. You got a good developer and a nice brand but all these does not guarantee you the traffic but your services rendered coupled most with your customer care service. I will urge you to be steadily active as this seems to be the account to the representative of the housebet casino and therefore, must be consistently be active to responding to questions, enquiries, complaints etc as these are the things members look at  in sourcing for casinos to identify with.

As you can see for yourself, there are big names for which you will have contend with here as your popularity is not that  strong and I believe you know the benefits of advertisement and promotion which I will advise you to seek the expertise of a good signature campaign manager to help manage your signature campaign management. You can contact @Royse777 for your  campaign management.
2311  Economy / Economics / Re: How Long in Years Should I Wait Before I Close Down an Unprofitable Business on: April 20, 2023, 01:18:01 PM
How long in years should I go before I give up and close down a business that is unprofitable?

I was listening to a podcast where Kelvin O'Neal1 was featured. He said, "If you are not making money after 36months(3 years), you've gotta take a behind the barn and shoot it. It's just a hobby. It's not a business."

According to him, "people can get so stuck on a bad idea that they just keep thinking that if I keep working on it, it's going to fix itself. It doesn't fix itself. It was put on your journey to teach you, what not to do."

- To what extent do you agree or disagree with this assertion ?

-Have you had a business that even though it wasn't profitable in the first three (3) years, then it  kicked off to bring in good returns in the fourth (4th) year?

OP I did had such experience years back. Then I was in the university as that was part of my side hustle you know. I do import some goods then from one of the Asian county, I did my very best with much efforts to make sure that I was successful in the business which happened so. I sold alot of goods then but a lots happened though. I had to employ a staff as it was the only thing I could do as to help me out but the unfortunate happened. While I was doing my University final year I became so my occupied that I do not pay attention to my business anymore leaving it to the care of my employee. I became
furious as to what was happening that I do not see any return after much efforts. So I did not hesitate to shot down.

2312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gas station payment with bitcoin. on: April 19, 2023, 11:54:10 PM
Congratulations on this mile stone of yours mate. It is a good thing you have done to have made bitcoin a payment option for your services rendered as a means of payment for gas in your locality. I like what you have down mate, as I see based on what you have said, mostly people who patronize your gas station are youths so therefore, it would be of good benefits and importance that you do e needful just as you have said to enlighten them more on bitcoin and how it works so that they could be able to adapt quickly to it but I will advise you not to think or try a way of convincing them so that you do not put yourself into problem.

2313  Economy / Gambling / Re: 💸⭐ SPORTSBETTING TIPS ⭐💸 on: April 19, 2023, 11:27:36 PM
OP, I think this is not feasible because I believe every gambler has his or her own gambling pattern so therefore, do not expect what works for gambler A to work out for gambler B and also vice versa both parties. Every one has his or her own unique way of playing to win. Another thing is the time of playing which varies from all some people believe in playing at a particular time with a particular pattern or way of paying which is quite different from the others.

What I will advise you to do is to develop yourself in gambling on a particular game and do take note of times and of your Winnings so as to know when to play, your mood and reactions to your games at wins.
2314  Economy / Gambling / Re: This guy gave a whole prototype of "how live roulette scam us" on: April 19, 2023, 11:04:45 PM
I thought as much though and I also had to look at my own experience with roulette game I play. It seems there is correlation between what OP has explained and my experience.

I played this game onboard a roulette live game casino and I enjoyed the game and suddenly after some big wins, I started observing some certain changes on the roulette game I play and I noticed this precisely, after I won big, while watching the them count and pack up and after a little while after I had chat on their chat box, their staff came and started again and I placed a big bet this time before they package up which they did not spin the roulette but after the staff came out and we continued, I lost all my heavy bet for that particular set. Ever since then I noticed it I stopped playing at that casino and I also stopped playing roulette game.
2315  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Will there be transition on May 29? on: April 18, 2023, 08:51:29 PM
OP it is clearly stated in the Constitution that May 29 is handover and swearing in of a new government as amended. No amount of threat can stop the law from taking it course. INEC and other third parties can not stop the hand over come may 29. The law also respect it's order and can not do anything about it. One thing I know is that every one can exercise their grievance at the law court but can not stop it's course from taking effect.
There have been many instances and occurrences where things similar in nature to this rants occurred but nothing happened. It did not stop the law from taking its course. So what ever they are planning to do wouldn't hold any water. I am not talking because of political parties involved, I am not talking in favour of any party but I am talking based on past occurrences and events.

The hand over and swearing in would hold.
2316  Economy / Gambling / Re: justbit.io asking me for KYC although their site explicitly states no KYC on: April 18, 2023, 05:04:36 PM
Any official information about they never ask for KYC from their user? I just have visited the site and try to read their terms and KYC policy. what I have found there.

See point 14, where they clearly said they reserve the right to ask for valid identification of a user under the KYC procedure for some cases. For asking KYC you can not say they are scams. Maybe they have found something suspicious.
When I first saw the complaint from OP with no evidence and proof of payment to profile wallet to back up his or her claims, I just had the thought maybe one of those regular paid  random guys to do a dirty job on the casino I guessed.
It was obviously clear from the terms and conditions together with withdrawal policy that KYC was required and that they have every right to demand for KYC when the need arises but OP failed to read through all these before making deposit if truly it happened as claimed by OP that the casino is holding unto his or her funds and demanding for KYC.
but there are possibilities that they have a banner with big letters written that no KYC is required then at the bottom there is a small letter that states upon signing up this is mostly what I noticed on advertisements or promotions to attract new customers, others will say that no KYC but terms will apply so still there are KYC upon withdrawal but I don't see also any proof from OP so possibly dirty tactics from opposing casino to just give them a bad review or etc.
Maybe this is deceiving act by a casino to attract new casino. They claim that they don't require KYC on registration but later on they will say it they need it on withdrawal which is totally not good to see. Maybe this is what we need to notice on early part of their operation to avoid such shady actions by this kind of casino. I guess we need to be more careful choosing a casino to play so better play on the old reputable casino rather than risking our fund to new site which doesn't show any good deliver a quality service to their gamblers.

One thing I normally do before I get registered on platforms is to take out time to read through the terms and conditions applied irrespective of the give away bonuses or anything else to hold onto for more clarification. Most times these bonuses are just to get at unsuspecting participants to get registered and once they do, boom ! They are back to their initial plans of ripping out people through their cons.  OP should have read through the terms and conditions before jumping in and making deposit. These are the Minor mistakes made in respect to getting onboard a platform as a result of bonuses and give away without reading through to know the clause involved in the give away and bonuses.
2317  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blockchain Casinos - Consumer's Choice 2023! on: April 18, 2023, 04:48:18 PM
Regarding the prizes for the winning casino, we want to clarify that this is an internal award, and the winning casinos will not receive any financial benefits. Instead, they will receive recognition on our website and social media channels, as well as a badge that they can use to promote their achievement.
No offense, but Stake is bigger than your site and they have partnered with popular sport, fighter, team etc. Yeah there's no bad side for the winner, but still.... looks like the reward is almost zero impact for them lol.
As been predicted Stake will easily win this nomination, only 2 users vote on other casinos, but these casino was the old and reputable, no doubt if they get voted.

I had similar thoughts as well. I had to do a thorough work on finding out about OP as regards awards giving out but I found nothing much about them which means the organization is a newbie organization just as her presence and rank says here. Looking at stake, one would conclude that the casino is not a toy neither is it a baby toy for little kids to joke around with. Stake has been running for  years now with good reputation it has earned for herself. Stake has big names attached to them which shows that your awardee is no match for stake. Stake is very much bigger than the organizers of the award campaign here.

It is obvious that they are looking for popularity through this platform by doing an award session and with it, they have gotten what they want and if not they should list more casinos for the award let members vote.
2318  Economy / Services / Re: Vendo vídeos de un país del tercer mundo; recibo BITCOIN on: April 18, 2023, 03:21:50 PM
The videos are recorded by me. I don't think they understand my idea. The reason is that you users ask anything about my country. Example: how do red wine vendors work and what is it like to consume it in the street, sitting on a platform? I record the video with the requested information, details without compromising other people. Another example, how is the transport system? -The system is by collective buses and you have to put your hand out to make it stop, there are no specific stops, and to stop the vehicle you yell stop. I don't understand why they think I'm going to compromise my country or its citizens, I just want anyone here to explore it in a foreign body. It could be called a remote guide. My country is really beautiful, it has impressive things for someone from the first world. Regarding YouTube or other platforms, it is not indicated. That is precisely what btc is for, so as not to have intermediaries saying that it is good or not. This is supply and demand. My service is not expensive and I am open to dialogue, I also have an English translator (real-time, human translation).
PS: I have to show something, of course I do. What would you like to see, following the example above.

Can you please tell us your country and a little about it because I believe from their it would arouse people's interest in your services since you have said it is not about compromising your people or putting them at risk.
Start with a brief of your country, then back it up with
some pictorial excerpts from these places you have mentioned so prospective clients would envision how it looks like there by contacting you for your services. If you do it well you will be surprised to get turnups for your services.
Remember "what is worth doing is worth doing well".
2319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you feel bad while paying with BTC? on: April 18, 2023, 03:12:05 PM
actually, every one have their own choice with different reasons to use bitcoin as daily use payment. In my point of view, i choose to store bitcoin in my wallet (holding) and some of my bitcoin will be traded on short trading, then after i get some profit i usually withdrew the btc to fiat before use for payment on daily purchasing.

Nothing wrong with laszlo that he bought pizza for 10.000 btc, it was his choice to do it. No one knows exactly what will happen in the future including the price of bitcoin will rise or drop.
That's much the same as paying with BTC. When I want to buy something or to purchase something then I had to sell some of my BTC to fiat so that I can buy it. Cryptocurrency is not banned in my country but there aren't establishment that accept crypto as one of the payment method use in transactions that's why I sell BTC to fiat before buying. Better focus on the question in the title, my answer for that will be No, I won't feel bad while paying BTC. BTC is created for that purpose and more. It's up to us on what to do with it and what you want to spend with your BTC.

Same too but what I myself did was to separate my bitcoin accounts. I have a bitcoin account for long term holding, one for emergency and one for trading that is how I roll with my bitcoin. So changing it to fiat is not a problem for me as I have already split them for various purpose with different wallets.
Then for my country it is not  that government put a ban on Crypto currency but the central bank in my country put a ban on the bank from transacting with Crypto currencies and since then no one date talk about it in the bank or conduct transactions with a note related to Crypto on their transaction otherwise you face the risk of loosing you funds and account blocked but we do p2p trade for exchange of bitcoin to fiat very easy for us so it is a no issue  for us in my country.
2320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How not having money helped my Bitcoin journey on: April 18, 2023, 02:50:19 PM
It all depends on how you see it,
Sometimes we just need to look at it at a different perspective and we could embrace it as an opportunity.
Even the saddest and darkest times of our life could be a blessing if we would look at what we learn and how we grow from those times.
So for me it all depends on how you want to see it, just like how OP see the blessing on not having money.
You own perspective is quite different from the OP's perspective, everybody have what suits them when it comes to crypto and how money is been used in investing. When you start Bitcoin on a zero percent level of income, definitely, that motivation must be there to make as much money as you can, there must be that zeal, which will push you to the height that you want, because you remembering the fact that your financial level is zero,it's what will motivate you.I started same way,on a zero percent level, but I can't say I am up to where I want to be now,but I can't compare myself now to before.i am still pushing, untill I will get to the height I want to reach.

As you have said,  people's perspective varies based on their experience in life. Some one with zero financial backup reasoning is quite different from another with good financial backup. When there is no money, you reason up to know how to make the money in a legit way without the law coming for you. Many people have their level of operation for which they feel is ok and comfortable to.make more money but one thing I have come to realize is that when you have no.money to start up life you are very broad in thinking about making money and I for sure know  at that point, one would need to survive.

So the entire point here is that when one has that desires in them to make money in life they will and when it happens that they have no money on them to Start up and fortunately got one which requires no funds for start up and they have made little money from it, believe me you they would put their efforts in learning more to doing the work very diligently so as to perfect their skills on thee job.
