2301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is It good For The Casinos And The Accusers If .. on: January 12, 2023, 10:04:39 PM
it depends... if they have a rationale why not!
however I will be pretty surprised for a similar choice. Not just to not provide public answer here, but also to add a disclaimer! By the way, the most important think is to have a problem solved. If the solution (and issue) is public is much better also for other players that can be aware about issues/specific rules of a casino.

Hal Finney, Alcor member A-1436 who chose the whole-body option, was pronounced legally deceased on August 28, 2014 at 8:50 am at the age of 58, in Scottsdale, Arizona. That same day, Hal became Alcor’s 128th patient.

Hal, who has had cryopreservation arrangements with the Alcor Foundation for over 20 years, was Bitcoin’s earliest-ever adopter. He was the very first debugger and contributor to Bitcoin’s code and was the recipient of the first Bitcoin transaction in January 2009, receiving 10 bitcoins from Bitcoin’s possibly pseudonymous creator Satoshi Nakamoto.

2306  Economy / Services / Re: Utopia P2P Ecosystem 💎 | Review Campaign 🔎| Participate Now! on: January 12, 2023, 03:21:02 PM
Here my review, thanks joeperry and utopia staff for this chance!

The software is easy to install. Application that makes its strength on versatility and several applications.

I like the layout even if at first glance it seems somewhat confusing given the many possibilities offered by such a system. It's nice to have so many functions in a single platform, but they could be simplified and made more usable by the end user.
It would be interested having a guided tour or a tutorial...

The idea is really interesting... but I wonder if the code is open for review and if its functions have been audited? the same applies for stablecoins (has I have already seen same question has been made by another user...)

I have visualized the function of groups and chats, but in practice there are very few active groups and local "Italian" groups practically equal to 0 although they have already been active for some time.
it would take new groups, promotions, activities to introduce new people into these groups.

it would be interesting to have an exchange inside the application (without having to go to a browser).
I'm wrong but there is no btc/crp pair?
a partnership with more famous exchanges that offer greater liquidity would certainly be needed.

I tried to use the 5 CRPs to play poker, but there are no open tables (practically none).
It would be interesting to have basic tables (perhaps daily tournaments) so as to attract a few players (why not, even sponsorships for the various tournaments).

I tried to play chess, but you can only add players from your contacts. it would be more interesting to play casual games even with players who are not in your contact list

The idea of a crypto card, basically a sort of alias for making payments, is very interesting.
Here you will find 5 0,99 USD codes that I generated, make good use of them (I haven't found ways to spend them...)
Code:
15:47 UTP-LRUC-OZYP-KFE6-SG5N-IBTP  0.99 CRP
15:47 UTP-RDFV-UX7Y-GL3S-O4WJ-KPEL  0.99 CRP
15:47 UTP-KY4R-OLIB-HCVP-MQ5N-3ZW3  0.99 CRP
15:47 UTP-EROC-N4IB-YU5W-FAMG-6X7R  0.99 CRP
15:47 UTP-GSP7-XJEH-BR2W-ACIT-NYMR  0.99 CRP
Interesting function!

The part that I found critical is linked to the last point of the "merchants" possibility of purchasing / spending through the application. There is no collection service Sad ok not a problem you can do without it though...

but...point 1 for adult services, should a disclaimer be included for minors under 18?

the real problem lies here:
point 2 there are a lot of clearly scam sites Roll Eyes .
Without going into detail, I've seen a lot of ponzi, hyip, betting sites with the reputation of being full-blown scams, in short ... can any service join? Wouldn't it be nice to do some clean?
ok freedom of speech and expression, but I think the first aspect to take into account is the reputation of the platform and safety for end users.
obviously those who find a site listed think it is official/reputable etc... there is the risk that it could become a sort of eden for scammers...
even if the system is left "free" anyone can join, for example you could insert a reputation/trust system that allows you to avoid promoting scams...

general opinion (summary):
The idea is interesting and has a whole range of potential that can be exploited. I would "make order" by enhancing some functions and excluding some really questionable services or merchants Wink

Client seed changed, will change client seed Roll Eyes

about your KENO example, it's something casual if you win or not after some games.
statistically these games have some probability (called also RTP and so on).
in the long terms you will see this probability. if you take a small range of your bets this can't count.

please note this is the basis of "sampling""statistical sampling".
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sampling_(statistics)
if you're missing such kind of argument trust me it's completely a waste of time continue this discussion.

Like spinning a coin, you can hit 100 times head...!!!
but if you play around "infinite" game the number of head and tails will be around the same (50%)!
2310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Provably fair games are not fair on: January 11, 2023, 03:01:02 PM
Clientseed: this is provided by the browser you’re playing on;
this can be changed by players!

if we play on a fixed bet amount the probability is it will hit 100x in 100spins or more or less but around 100 spins when played on a fixed bet
no absolutely.
you can hit x100 also after 2000 games or maybe 3000. and it would be pretty fine.
These statistics should be seen as "infinite". It means that maybe the ratio (more or less) of win x100 could be seen after 1milion of bet. Meanwhile, on the contrary, you can have also a better outcome.
It's just an indicator of the real odds... Anyway remember there is always RTP /House edge, so a slight percentage is always on favor of casino/house.

Means capturing 100x is easy when played on a fixed bet amount
and in constantly changing bet amount, is hard to capture 100x it can take upto 200 300 spins
the same apply here. the stake/amount you're using doesn't change the probability outcome.

client seed tell to server that this player is winning then you will notice you are losing more  then previous games after winning sometimes
No. you can change even at each roll your seed (client seed)... your is a complete bad assumption Sad
Because 1 seed is not communicating anything, 2 you can always change your seed after each game and verify the previous game.
2311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer and Crypto Guru Gambles Away Investor Funds on: January 11, 2023, 02:52:31 PM
this is the main reason I don't follow and I don't trust any of these "guru" because I cannot verify what is behind their operations.
In my country there are several telegram channel that are advertising their operations by claiming to win multiples over x100.
Well this can happens of sure, but if some one is really able to win with that rate/that amount constantly/even 1 times per month, I am pretty sure he has not interest to find "followers online" Wink

the real point in such topic should be addiction. addiction is a serious issue for gambling and should take in consideration by all industry operators!
2312  Economy / Gambling / Re: Recommendations for Real Cryptocurrency Casinos on: January 11, 2023, 09:07:49 AM
Hello everyone,

I am looking for a list of real cryptocurrency casinos. (My search through the forum posts from the last couple of years didn't yield any results for such a list.) By "real" crypto casinos, I mean online casinos that operate exclusively using bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies), rather than just allowing players to make deposits and withdrawals using cryptocurrencies. Does anyone have any recommendations or know of any good ones to check out?

I have a few that I play regularly that I don't want to mention here, but I'm always on the lookout for new options that are worth exploring. Unfortunately, it seems like most casinos require registration before you can take a look around inside.

Thanks in advance for your help!

note:
* Just because this topic isn't self-moderated doesn't mean you can spam here. Keep it clean and on topic, folks! Screenshots and other useful info are always appreciated. But beware, posts that wander off topic or just repeat what's already been said will be flagged for the moderators' attention.

In the past there was Directbet that was allowing to play directly with crypto (no accounts required / no deposit etc).
You generate your bet, including a qr code for your deposit, send crypto and bet recorded on blockchain (some casino games/sports bet).

But it's clearly showed some issue for long terms since it's really easy to double spend funds thanks to RBF. If you bet on a game, with the right time you can easily void any bet and not risk nothing.

A site that should work with direct transaction should require at least 1 confirmation for bitcoin (and many many many more for other cryptocurrencies). Without this requirement is pretty useless run a site since (early or late) it will be for sure abused/scammed by some player.

Maybe a solution using LN, could be the right approach Wink but for what I know, there is not anything implemented yet.

2315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts about Polkadot? on: January 10, 2023, 11:52:36 PM
actual value (4.58 euro) is down by 91.07% from the maximum value reached on 04 Nov 2021 (51.22 euro). :O
this requires a lot of effort to regain the values. really a lot...

Even if I am taking some DOT in staking I am not sure that I will see again this value.
But meanwhile I am still staking so probably could be a nice option to gain some "dividend" waiting for a better value...

The project is interesting but much probably has been just "hyped" too much in the past ...
with this, I am not saying that is not a good investment but probably is not the better choice in this moment or for the long term.

can you provide more details? because it would be a scam, from which detail should one understand?
Just to understand what is the "smoking gun" or any hint related the scam...

in any case, the forum has an excellent index and anyone looking for information on this token will find this page but in general it is better to provide some details...

initially it seemed almost a joke reading the title ... but actually it is a nightmare situation neither more nor less.

if I remember correctly this happened in 2016 or 2017. I am glad she filed a lawsuit again and it is great that they made a good point on their lawsuit. I wonder how much did she get on the settlement. anyway, people need to fight back against casinos that do this. as far as I know, this is not the first a casino claims that their slot machine is broken or suffered a glitch and the winnings shown on the screen are not exactly what the gambler won.

in such a situation this is the right way to handle it... ask a professional help by a good law firm.

2319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we really make a living in sports betting? on: January 10, 2023, 12:17:56 PM
Is an interesting question and the answer is not trivial.

if you invest a substantial amount and dedicate a lot of time to this activity, it can become a full-time job, like any other job...

But you have to consider several aspects at least in the setup phase:
- study sports/events/team players/type of gambling/odds/websites
- have more internet lines to connect (can you risk having a connection problem during a live match?)
- possibility to travel and bet live in some events (therefore including food and lodging expenses, sports tickets)
- funds to bet with (you must have enough money to cover a wide range of matches)
- working at any time (even at night!) and having to follow dozens and dozens of sports news/updates etc
- betting software (like geek toys for betfair...)
- create various accounts on the various bookmakers, therefore bureaucratic procedures, etc
- manage taxes/fiscal aspects
other things to be counted on, like devices, office, general expenses...

In short, living off betting is a job like any other.
It requires experience, financial investments, investments in terms of time...isn't easy at all, achieving a result requires a lot of effort
