2301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC on FOX 20: Holm vs. Shevchenko Prediction and Info Thread on: July 28, 2016, 04:14:13 PM
I think that if none of the girls start a big reign of win streaks the UFC will have a hard time creating an unbeatable type of girl like when Rousey was undefeated. They had this in the HW division with Bones Jon Jones and now that he has tested positive again his legacy is already dead, he will never be that unbeatable guy because he has that aura of a cheater.
2302  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: LUCK!!! :) How does it feels? on: July 28, 2016, 03:55:08 PM
I haven't been lucky for a long time now and it sucks. I miss that feel of hitting on a lucky strike, it lasts for a very short period of time but its one of the best feels. The good side is the fact that if you are in a long streak of no good luck, it statistically means that you are closed every day.
2303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Honestly, for how long can ETH survive this mess? on: July 28, 2016, 03:36:44 PM
As long as there is interest from holders or simply people who pump and dump, a coin will survive, no matter how shit a coin is, unfortunately it happens

True, as long as speculation and decent volume to allow for it keeps going, a coin will "survive", but surviving is not enough. It seems like Bitcoin will remain the only serious and solid coin, and ETH will go down the path of being an absolute clusterfuck.
I'm very surprised eth isn't approaching zero right now.  There's no explaining the stupidity of shitcoin supporters.  How any of these have value is a mystery to me, but it's especially puzzling after what just happened with eth.  Good summary of the events, by the way OP.

I am afraid you guys are right. Who would use ETH for smart contracts after this? I mean the precedent is set, now at any time they can start going for a hard fork as soon as the outcome of a smart contract doesn't end up they way they intended. This is just ridiculous and the opposite of smart and decentralized.
2304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will regulation make bitcoin slower? on: July 28, 2016, 03:10:17 PM
It does not matter if they regulate it, people will find other services taht don't have annoying regulations and will use those. Government regulation attempts against Bitcoin are futile.
2305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockstream Buys Bitcoin Wallet to Boost Sidechains Development on: July 28, 2016, 03:06:22 PM
It is a good move against patent trolls and big open source projects like Linux do it all the time yet I don't see anyone complaining about it. Of course Blockstream does it and then the FUD and hate begins.

Well guess what, the big blockers have already lost, they have shown their incompetence numerous times now and it's over for the guys like Brian Armstrong that were saying how great a hard fork is.
2306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whwn you do not get confirmations on a transcation... on: July 28, 2016, 03:03:30 PM
Yep one day I was too greedy with the fee and it turned out it was too small because it got split in several outputs and I ended up with a stuck transaction so I had to use zapwallettx, luckly I was using Bitcoin Core, if I was not using core then I guess it would have been stuck there for ages...
2307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Gambling is Fun? on: July 27, 2016, 03:37:12 PM
Yup its just the trill to get more and more wins that keeps us going back to try to get a better outcome. You become addicted to trying to get a good result and since it takes no effort (just click on "spin" or "roll" you keep doing it forever until you have no money. I think part of the fun is simply the dopamine rush that makes you feel good to gamble.
2308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be considered as a Sickness!! on: July 27, 2016, 03:21:38 PM
There are some genetic test you can do to see if you have big chances o becoming a gambling addict. We have technology now to look up for genetic traits that will tell you if you can or not gamble in a reasonable way and everyone should be taking those tests before risking it with gambling.
2309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Honestly, for how long can ETH survive this mess? on: July 27, 2016, 03:07:04 PM
it doesn't matter how much money is stolen by exploiting bugs in ethereum code as long as Vitalik is not on the losing side nothing will change but if he loses anything he will hard fork it again and he has the most amount of coins and money with his whale supporters like poloniex to do it.

I don't think Poloniex has favoritism towards Ethereum. Ethereum foundation told Poloniex to not list ETC and Poloniex didn't gave a fuck and listed ETC.

The situation is too risky. Im considering buying some but both ETC and ETH are in a total fucked up situation. One because ETH is a scam with a rollback blockchain, and two because ETC has a lot of hate from big players that are invested in ETH and are mad that ETC is gaining traction.
2310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH/ETC Madness: Good time to refill Alt bags? on: July 27, 2016, 02:58:22 PM
I would buy ETC but I can't honestly be bothered to do it. My BTC is too precious to be spent in some altcoin gamble. ETC is cheaper and has higher chances to pump. ETH is the one fork that is suffering the most with desperate holders going nuts about it.
2311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Market is not wrong, Vitalik Buterin is. on: July 27, 2016, 02:31:34 PM
What the young man is unable to comprehend is that an immutable, non-reversable blockchain is more valuable than fixing a $60 million loss for people who actually deserved it due to negligence and an inability to put forth proper security protocols while having a fiduciary responsibility to ensure the funds safety.

Lehman Brothers, Bear Sterns come to mind.

I am sure to Vitalik, $60 million is a lot of money and he wants 'to do the right thing.'  What he has done however is unwittingly and unknowingly removed himself from the helm of Ethereum.  Ethereum simply can't be trusted any longer as its community may reverse transactions that "have been executed by Muslims, or French people or maybe blacks," especially if the 51% consensus is a gathering of 19-32 year old white males?  Where does it end?

It ends with Ethereum Classic.  Kudos to the visionaries who understand that the betterment of the many lies in an immutable blockchain which stands the chance to make trillions.

Subsidizing idiocy is not a valuable proposition.
What a crock load of FUD.

We understand that you are bagholding ETH, but that doesn't change OP's fact being right.

Vitalik Buterin acted as a central banker when he tried to stop all trading to avoid people panic selling after the DAO "hack". From that very second I knew Ethereum was doomed. Then all those morons like Brian Armstrong saying hard forks are not a problem because there would never be 2 result coins coexiting buried it.
2312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any games that I can earn Bitcoin from? on: July 27, 2016, 02:09:21 PM
Bitcoin flapper is cool but too simple. Battlecoin.org is the best game that I ever played for BTC. Its a bomberman clone where you can bet against your friends in a winner takes it all scenario. And also there is a agar.io clone for BTC.
2313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is for criminals - Or so they say. on: July 27, 2016, 01:47:43 PM
I just saw on the news again another article on ISIS using Bitcoins to buy weapons, yet no one is saying the obvious: Cash is the number one used tool to get weapons, not to mention art and oil most of the time delivered by western countries.
2314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Storing of Bitcoins is against Bitcoin. on: July 27, 2016, 01:40:50 PM
Wrong then and wrong now. If you are holding bitcoin you are exercising a right of every Bitcoin user which is non e other than the right to hold buy and hoard as much as you please. You are free to store or you are free to expend. That is a fundamental feature of it.
2315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Regret and depression on: July 27, 2016, 01:04:16 PM
It will be worse in the future that after knowing about Bitcoin for a long time, you don't own any. So it's better that you start buying as much as possible and own at least 21 BTC for long term storage so you dont have to commit suicide in the future due regret.
2316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is for criminals - Or so they say. on: July 26, 2016, 04:17:39 PM
Everyone knows that cash is still the number 1 tool used by criminals to obtain weapons and so on, so of course Bitcoin being a tool for terrorists is very small percentage. The question is: What happens when cash is removed in the next 10 years? Then Bitcoin will be indeed the number one way for criminals to obtain weapons, that is when I think they will try to ban it on full force and we better be ready by then with a very anonymous and robust Bitcoin (this means small blocks, tor support, confidential transactions, schnorr signatures for default coinjoin... in other words we need Core team in charge).
2317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: World is really moving toward space age ! on: July 25, 2016, 04:36:35 PM
Bitcoin will be the currency of the universe. We will start conquering other planets in the future and establishing planets. We will launch satellites all over spade that act as nodes so we all can share the same blockchain on all planets. Bitcoin will be accepted all across the galaxy.
2318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EU Commission proposing Central Database of Virtual Currency Users on: July 25, 2016, 04:33:26 PM
If I was in Europe then I would never log in into exchanges anymore unless I was using a VPN or something (since I think TOR can't be used in exchanges, but if it can then use it too). I would never leave traces because you never know what crazy laws they are going to get in the future. So I would start using privacy solutions like the ones I mentioned for all trading. Of course if you want to deal with fiat there is no way around it, they will ask for id and they will know you are, but crypto to crypto transactions you can still remain anonymous.
2319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be considered as a Sickness!! on: July 24, 2016, 03:22:51 PM
If you can manage your losses then gambling is not really a sickness is just some other activity you do like any other stuff like investing and so on, so if you consider gambling a sickness you must consider investing a sickness too.
2320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: POKEMON GO LIKE SITE TO PLAY FOR BITCOINS? on: July 24, 2016, 02:59:04 PM
Yes it would be a fantastic combination, but unfortunately, like someone else has pointed out, it is extremely unlikely that Nintendo will do that, not unless Bitcoin is insanely mainstream, right now is too early.

Someone could develop a game where you find bitcoins instead of pokemons.
I think that game would be more popular than Pokemon go for sure. Wink
But who would fund this amount of bitcoin to pay anyone who finds them? There would have to be some kind of leveling system for this to work.
I think bitcoin is mainstream as presidents in other countries are mentioning it in their speeches in the last few months.

Lol how could a Bitcoin game be more popular than a Pokemon game? Get real, the fact that Pokemon Go is huge it's because you catch Pokemons and everyone loves Pokemons cause they are cute and they were really famous in the 90s and there's an existing following.

Bitcoin is new and confusing to most people still.
