2301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If football is Legal in most countries why is Gambling Prohibited on: January 28, 2022, 06:40:03 AM
Comparing football to gambling games like poker, dice, crash, slots, etc. is simply wrong.
Football is just a game, but betting on football games is gambling.
I guess that by "football" you mean betting on football. You should clarify your question.
It's all about government regulation. In many countries gambling games are forbidden, while sports betting is allowed(but heavily regulated).
I don't know why you are so focused on football only.Any event,in which the outcome cannot be predicted can be used for betting/gambling.It's not just football.I guess that you just hate football and that's why you come up with football as an example. Grin
2302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too! on: January 28, 2022, 06:19:27 AM
Hi everyone, it's been awhile, just wanted to tell you that I still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too!

Some of you may say it's a dumb decision or risky, but I'm all for BTC and positive about it. To the Moon!

It's hard to believe that you haven't sold anything for 9 years. Can you show us a valid proof? Grin
I wish I had your emotional stability during the last few years.Unfortunately I've sold lots of BTC. Grin
I had to sell a quarter of BTC back in 2019,because I was running out of cash and I didn't have a stable income back then.I had no choice, but that was definitely a wrong decision.
Anyway,it's good to see that many Bitcoiners are confident about the future of Bitcoin. To the moon!
2303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is valuable? on: January 27, 2022, 12:02:36 PM
Quote
As a final note, Bitcoin is hard to come by, and if 21 million people buy one each, they will never be able to buy it again.

This is a theoretical fantasy, which will never happen in reality.
Anyway, assuming that your fantasy happens, why do you think those 21 million people will buy one Bitcoin?
I think that the main reason the people are buying BTC is to sell it at a higher price.
There's no point for 21 million people to buy 21 million Bitcoins and keep the BTC in their wallets forever.
That's why your assumption about the people never being able to buy BTC again is wrong.
I'm not going to waste my time explaining why Bitcoin has value. This has been explained multiple times in various forum posts.

2304  Economy / Economics / Re: If you don't buy don't come here to complain on: January 27, 2022, 07:38:46 AM
Another opportunity has created for new investors to have some good coins listed in their portfolio. Many who bought higher now leave at the mercy of the market but for those who were scared of how high the price flew within a short time now has a better chance of joining the market at a good market value.

My agitation now is no one should come back shouting about missed opportunity in the future I think since late last year the market has been a bit fair to new investors giving them opportunity to join the train. Everyone can be a millionaire in crypto attitude towards market volatility is what makes the clear difference

You are right.I have a good feeling about the upcoming years.Buying now at 35K and selling after a year or two at 70K-100K would be great.Another price crash in February from 35K to 20K would be even better.
However, all the 'buy the dip' and 'sell at ATH' stuff makes me a little bit sad about Bitcoin.
The Bitcoin/crypto market is like a roller coaster with all those dramatic ups and downs.
Is this the reason why Satoshi created Bitcoin?Being an investment/gambling speculative roller coaster?
We won't be seeing Bitcoin being adopted in the B2C industries anytime soon(probably never).
Unfortunately,BTC will remain a speculative trading tool.

just dont put them play vs each other cause then rake is obviously going to kill you.

Hahaha, the universe might collapse if we put those "poker bots" to play against each other.
Those "poker bots" are so perfect that no one of them is capable of winning against the other. Grin
OP,if you've created the perfect/always winning poker bot, then why are you selling it?
Just use it and win every poker game, win millions of dollars and retire at a young age.
Why creating competition for yourself,by selling your "amazing" so called "poker bot"? Grin
I've never heard about a poker bot so far.I'm pretty sure that a game of poker cannot be automated, because all the human poker players are going to see the patterns, which are created by a bot.
OP,you just made me laugh.
2306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My take on the market on: January 27, 2022, 06:53:15 AM
I've searched on Youtube by using the keyword "bitcoin" yesterday and the results were hilarious.
All those clickbait videos with crazy thumbnails and all that overreaction and attention seeking.
All the bombastic headlines, like "You'll be shocked,If I tell you the truth about the current Bitcoin price crash!"
As if all those clowns and idiots on Youtube know the real reasons behind Bitcoin price drops. Grin
Anyway, you are pretty much right about the current situation on the market and Bitcoin fundamentals, but I keep thinking that the Bitcoin price was overinflated back in 2020-2021 and the next 1-2 years we won't be seeing crazy 60-70K USD price levels. There's little hope that I might be wrong about this.
2307  Economy / Economics / Re: The Russian economy is on the verge of collapse. What to expect? on: January 26, 2022, 11:56:20 AM
How do you know that the Russian economy is on the verge of collapse?
Many "experts" in my country think that the Russian economy is pretty much OK and Russia has enough resources and raw materials to survive on it's own.I don't know, maybe most of these so called "experts" simply like Russia way too much, which makes their opinions biased.
I still don't think that Putin will invade Ukraine. He's just raising the stakes,so he could get something more out of the negotiations.
The tensions between Russia and the western world will impact negatively the cryptocurrency industry, because many miners are located in Russia and many Russians are trading and owning cryptocurrencies.I don't believe that any US sanctions towards Russia would make the Russian government more "crypto-friendly" than before.
2308  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2022-01-25 CNBC - Drop bitcoin as legal tender, IMF urges El Salvador on: January 26, 2022, 11:39:11 AM
AFAIK,the US dollar is still a legal tender in El Salvador,as well as Bitcoin.
The people of El Salvador have a choice between USD and BTC and nobody is forcing them to use Bitcoin in their daily life.
The bureaucrats at the International Monetary Fund can't impose decisions on an independent country.
El Salvador might be a small and underdeveloped country, but they are still independent and they can decide which currency to accept as a legal tender and whether or not to decline a currency as a legal tender.

2309  Economy / Economics / Re: What If? on: January 26, 2022, 07:12:02 AM
Theoretically it's possible for Russia and China to bind their national currencies at a fixed rate and trade between each other by using their own national currencies.Returning to the Gold standard isn't an option, because both countries lack enough gold reserves.
Nobody is saying that two countries can trade with each other only by using USD or euro as a medium of exchange.
Moving away from the SWIFT system will be a little harder for Russia and China.Building a new payment infrastructure would require lots of resources and improved security.
Insulating Russia and China from the western world would bring them more damage than benefit.
2310  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino behavior that turn you off on: January 26, 2022, 06:53:13 AM
Different forks with different opinions, I have seen quite a lot of gambling sites that have hard a rough pass and this reflects on their reputation both on this forum and outside the forum, this leads me to ask what are the bad behavior of casino operators that turn you off from the site?

Why are you even asking this question?
Can't you just use your brain and come up with multiple examples of bad/shady behavior by a crypto casino?
Withdrawals taking forever, really slow customer support, scam accusations left without any answer and proof.
The fairness of the games cannot be verified.Having rigged games, where you are guaranteed to lose,if you bet a big amount.
The list can go on and on.

read the post to know what make me to leave duckdice.io
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5381469.0

OP,are you obsessed with duckdice.io?Did they scam you with a big amount of money?
You have already made a forum thread about duckdice.io.There's no point of posting on other forum threads about your problems with this casino.Maybe duckdice.io is a scam and a bad casino.I don't know.
I haven't used that casino and I never will.
2311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Investor Psychology on: January 26, 2022, 06:34:52 AM
The difference between FOMO and panic selling/buying the dip has already been explained multiple times.
I guess that the buyers will have to wait for a few weeks,so they could be sure that 32-35K USD is the dip.
Maybe then they will start buying.
I have a good feeling about April/May/June.Maybe the Bitcoin price might start recovering during the spring.
However,I might be wrong and the price won't recover back to 50-60K during the entire 2022(which is perfectly fine).
Most true Bitcoin investors and HODLers are ready to wait a year or two for another Bitcoin ATH.
2312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: AFCON Round of 16. on: January 25, 2022, 11:43:36 AM
I support Gambia, because a player from my favorite football club plays for their national team.
Somehow Gambia managed to reach the quarter-final,despite their defensive play and the lack of quality players.
I guess that they also had a lot of luck.
I also think that the north African teams like Egypt and Tunisia with get to the semi-finals,or even the final.
I'm not an expert on the African football, but it seems to me that this tournament is totally unpredictable and the big favorites like Nigeria and Algeria didn't play very well.

2313  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is $30k the bottom for this dip? on: January 25, 2022, 11:22:49 AM
Could be. $30k, worst $20k. But it makes you think, where is the money if its a bloodbath for both Bitcoin and Altcoins? Is all the missing money sold for stable coins?
If that's the case then someone is manipulating it heavily. We don't know who they are or when their decision to buy back will be but I know they will come back.
When you become a Bitcoin holder for a long time there is not much options anymore. You just wait again and trust the process. Look back at history and expect the same thing will happen.

I've seen many articles on crypto news websites(and mainstream news websites as well) bitching about 1 trillion USD being wiped out of the cryptocurrency markets.
This is so wrong. The fact that the combined cryptocurrency market cap dropped by 1 trillion USD doesn't mean that 1 trillion USD had left the cryptocurrency market and moved somewhere else.
The real amount is way lower.Probably around 50-100 billion USD.The lack of liquidity on the market combined with the fear and insecurity leads to panic selling and severe price drops.
I don't think that anyone is manipulating the crypto markets right now.Currently the fear dominates over the greed of the crypto investors. The stock markets aren't performing better than the crypto market. Is anyone manipulating the stock markets?
2314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wikipedia Editors Have Voted Not to Classify NFTs as Art, Sparking Outrage on: January 25, 2022, 06:52:43 AM
Everything can be viewed as art.
About the question "Are NFTs art?" I would say yes and no.
Yes,because we can't deny the creative effort, that was put in most NFTs(I exclude all the plagiarized ones)everything can be viewed as art in one way or another.
No,because most NFTs are created with the sole purpose of being sold.
Pieces of art like paintings and sculptures are created with the same purpose, but this is NOT their MAIN purpose. The main purpose is the artist expressing himself and his views about the world(or something else) in that particular piece of art.
There's a great video from the Youtuber "Become the Knight" about why NFTs are a total scam.
He explains everything really well.Just check him on Youtube.I'm too lazy to search and post the video URL right now.
2315  Economy / Gambling / Re: Vikingbet.io launched this week. on: January 25, 2022, 06:32:31 AM
The website can't load on my browser.
I just get a black screen with the vikingbet.io logo and a bunch of circles.
Is this website still in beta phase or there is something wrong with my browser?
I might have to check this website link on virustotal for anything malicious.
OP is very unprofessional for making such a lazy announcement post and not providing any updates or answering questions.
No gambler is going to waste his money on such crypto casino.
OP must put a lot effort to prove that he is legit.
2316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Bitcoin Maxis sell - ever? on: January 25, 2022, 06:11:51 AM
It's hard to be a total Bitcoin maximalist, because you need fiat money in your daily life and Bitcoin will never get the level of mass adoption, which will make you comfortable enough spending your BTC only and never touching fiat money again.
Altcoin trading is basically pointless, because all the altcoins are simply following the Bitcoin price like sheep.
Maybe ETH is the only exception, even though it will never outperform BTC.
I wish I bought ETH back in 2015-2016,when ethereum was launched and the ETH price was around a dollar. Grin
I understand that feeling when the prices fall and the market is a bloodbath, but the traders, who will survive and make a profit out of this situation are the ones that have balls of steel.
We have to resist the urge to panic sell our BTC.
2317  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I want your happiness. on: January 24, 2022, 11:42:31 AM
You say that you have gained knowledge and experience from crypto trading, but all that knowledge and experience will be lost, after you quit.I'm not saying that you shouldn't quit.
Day trading isn't for everyone. If cryptocurrency trading isn't for you, leaving this "business" might be your best bet. Some people are created for a 9/5 job, while others want the risk, the excitement and insecurity of day trading.
Happiness is just a concept. The journey is more important than the goal.
The meaning of life is to keep grinding and never surrender.Maybe you will find your purpose some day.
Good luck,OP.
2318  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin circle with simple words ? on: January 24, 2022, 11:24:00 AM
i am thinking will it go more down or it will go up ? i cant afford to lose even one cent of profits!!!!

Have you ever heard the saying "Only invest money that you can afford to lose."
If you can't afford any losses just stop trading and don't buy any Bitcoins at all.
It's a Bitcoin cycle, not a Bitcoin circle.Other forum members already explained the process of halving.
There's no proof and no guarantee that Bitcoin halving will actually pump the Bitcoin price. The halving just creates hype and expectations about a future price pump, which leads many traders to buy BTC before and after the halving.
Nobody is saying that there is some kind of yearly pattern of the Bitcoin price, like "one year is bullish and the next year is bearish".
The people are only speculating about this bullish/bearish cycle.
2319  Economy / Economics / Re: Efforts made by the US actually provide a new problem for inflation. on: January 24, 2022, 06:57:56 AM
I wonder about the influence of the Federal reserve anti-inflation policy over the US national debt.
The increased interest rates should make the US national debt more expensive and the debt payment should become a bigger burden over the US government. However, there's no way for USA to get enough tax revenue to pay it's debt,so the money printing machine must keep working,in order to fill that 3.5 trillion budget deficit.
The good of part of inflation(at least in the eyes of the politicians) was the devaluation of debts.
Now,the politicians will have to make the choice between fighting inflation and getting into recession or keeping the high inflation(which is bad for the poor and the working class) and devaluation of the federal debt. This is a pretty difficult choice to make.
2320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the most important features of an online crypto casino? on: January 24, 2022, 06:36:55 AM
All the crypto casinos basically have the same games. No casino can stand out from the crowd.
The customer service and the responsiveness in solving the problems is what differentiate a good business from a bad business.
Viewing your customers as human beings and being nice to them is always a win.
Security is also a must.A good business cannot compromise on it's own security(and customer's security).
Engaging with the Bitcointalk community is important, because Bitcointalk is the place, where most of the newly launched crypto casinos would get their first paying customers.
The speed of processing withdrawals is also crucial, because many gamblers would run away from crypto casinos, that are slow at processing withdrawals.
