2017 was a game changer, today my hairdresser asked me about "how to bitcoin", as i have mentioned earlier that am now "retired" thanks to bitcoin.
Seldom people talk about his, but the fact that bitcoin has reached the intellectually lazy "average Joe" 's mind last year, and the basic instinct of human greed made several of my
acquaintances to reach out to me* and wants to "invest" made me have the impression, that this must be happening all around the world; just look at the stupid ICO
frenzy, ill informed people throwing money in hope to make fortunes -bitconeecrash LOL.
My point is, even if the motivation of the "downtrotten" is for just quick buck, the fact that they start to accept cryptos as a valid substitute of wealth preservation/increase vs. the fiat world is a huge
step in the way of making bitcoin a mainstream phenomenon.
I wonder why all the worries, if anyone is here for the long run, who cares about a 50% dump? We are still up 1000%+ from a year now, why the FUD?
*Sadly, my efforts to educate these people always hit a brick wall, as they express implicitly, that they "do not have time" to invest in understanding the basic concepts (mathematical, IT, economic, etc.)

Side rant: Now i do not have guilt anymore about the fact that my ex colleagues will earn less in 30 years than me just by sitting on my bitcoins, for i have spent literally 1000s of hours educating myself, restrained my spending for years ("nah, i won't go with you to a vacation, rather buy 5 more of those really cheap bitcoins! - 2015), and they could not take the fukin effort to read a couple of articles/watch a few hours of videos on youtube i have put the effort into select and sent them for basic education.
Couldn't agree with you more. A friend of mine referred me to Bitcoin in summer of 2013. I bought my first at $800 and one of my last at $200 in 2015 and have held since then. I read voraciously on the subject back in 2013 which is the main reason why I invested around $10,000 into the technology and continue to be fascinated by it. My friend you ask? The one that first told me about it when it was at $60? He owns .15 of a BTC, which was a gift from me in 2015. I still struggle to understand why he recommended it to me, yet never embraced it himself. I just think it was mainly laziness on his part. He had read enough about it to deem it interesting enough to pass on to me, but never spent more time understanding it. I still feel a tad guilty when we speak, cause he's not getting another gift haha imagine if you had taken roach's advice, bought silver and gold you would be nowhere |

Or about to take a dive  Edit: On another note, the market looks like the only buys and sells are from short term traders trying to make a few bucks. It seems demand from new entrants or long term investors has completely died off. I can see this on my local exchange vs the overseas ones. 2 months ago there was a 10% difference in price, that has now dropped down to <2%. Not good, this massive drop in demand. The whales are letting the market to cool off after their pump and dump. Calculating profits  As soon as they're sure all weak hands are out they'll pump again. We aren't even close to the weak hands being forced out yet. This is shaping up to be another 2014/15. Put the screens down and check back in two years Why do you say that? I think that any weak hands would have been forced out long ago, when the price dropped to 9k. weak hands are gone IMO as well. But the semi weak hands are still in .... but maybe let them stay in There is still to much hope in this forum. I agree with this one.  as a matter of fact it is. Unfortunately I don't have 200 million dollars to make it happen. something in my gut tells me $12000 is not that far away once the tether fud has subsided. Finally... the return of the optimism charts. Only a few hours remaining and $12k seems so far away. I'll remain optimistic though. should be heading for 12.3 anytime.
Getting back on topic... anyone else noticing solid support gathering between the $10k to $11k range?
Roughly 2,400 BTC from 11k to 10k on GDAX. I've been watching support grow all day in that range. I'm feeling optimistic about the next 96 hours.
*Edit* Just noticed the 1,000+ BTC wall at the magical Masterluc $7,700 mark. Quite the following.

Very toxic. It already dropped 60%. If it drops 80%, we would have a 92% drop since december. That breaks all support levels. It would break 8k, 5k, even 3k. We would be at 1k. Not even the bears take this seriously. Fact is, the big banks, the big finance, they are pissed. They thought the pump and dump from november to january would break bitcoin. They thought futures would dump the price. But it still holds above 10k. I live in the uk and the express is a shit newspaper always have scare stories based on nothing and lies. always making doom and gloom from nothing. take with a pinch of salt. lazy bunch of cunts |
