2321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency = The mother or father of all scams and bubbles on: August 15, 2022, 05:47:44 AM
Nouriel Roubini describes cryptocurrencies as "the mother or father of all scams and bubbles."
Scams including cyber-scams existed long before cryptocurrency became a thing, so I don't agree with his description of cryptocurrency as the mother/father of all scams and bubbles.

these are the words of someone who has no knowledge about cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
Not exactly that he has no knowledge about cryptocurrency and blockchain but rather he has wrong knowledge about it. That is, he knows about crypto, but he is largely misinformed.

Spurs did well to find that equaliser but the corner kick also shouldn't have been counted as there was a foul on Cucurella by Romero which surprisingly wasn't given after VAR check.
Chelsea supporters are aggrieved by the referees decision to let that Tottenham final goal count, I guess it contributed to Tuchels annoyance at the end of the game. However if Chelsea had made good use of some of the clear chances they had like that Reece Jame's cross from the side that Havert couldn't connect with properly, they would not have been in that final minute situation with Chelsea.

Looking at the behaviour of Conte and Tuchel after the game and how important those points were to them even now when the season is just fresh, I can say for sure that this season will be tense.
2323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: August 14, 2022, 04:21:13 PM
nottingham forest wins 1-0 against west ham united and celebrates the first premier league victory since 1999... the winning goal was scored by Taiwo Awoniyi, who came from the bundesliga.
I enjoyed the Nottingham forest game against West ham and they deserved to win especially in front of their home fans. They put up a very impressive performance and show the real hunger to win and be relevant, solid behind in defence and dangerous when they attacked. I think Nottingham forest has some ability to do well this season and maybe finish top fifteen on the league if they continue to improve.

Chelsea will start the second half with a one goal lead which is not enough to be assured of safety against a team like Tottenham. I don't believe Tottenham are out of this game considering the good form the are currently in, they may even end up to cause an upset and win by 2:1, nothing is impossible in football.

Will there ever be an end to cryptocurrency scams?
It is difficult seeing an end to cryptocurrency scams as long as scams and cryptocurrency exist. It is possible that we may witness a decline in the number of persons that fall victims to cryptocurrencies scams as the years go by and more persons become more aware of them, however I doubt that it can completely seize. Scammers are constantly devising new methods to swindle you, you should always be on guard.

Dating scams that was the earliest form of cyber scam is still in existence so it will be naive to think cryptocurrency scams are going away anytime soon.

Asisat Oshoala officially becomes the first African Woman to be nominated for the Ballon d'or...
Wow, super proud of her! Not just because she is Nigerian, but considering that she just won the CAF player awards 2022 for women.

Big congratulations to her, do you think she can win.
There are  some strong contenders on that Nomination list, it may be difficult for her to win but not impossible. Beth Mead has some pretty good chance following her influence in the English women winning their very first major women's championship, the Euro 2022, which they hosted on home soil.

I wish Asisat Oshoala well however.

2327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: August 13, 2022, 09:43:39 PM
I bet $190 for Barcelona. I only took a single bet that Barcelona would win.
I first of all, I hope that that's an amount you can afford to lose, and I wouldn't quite blame you for taking a single bet that Barcelona will win, we all thought so considering that it is the first game of the Spanish League and with the likes of lewandowski and Raphinha, we expected at least one goal from Barcelona to usher in the season, but we didn't see any as Rayo Valecano defended properly and their goalkeeper stood his ground.

Although Barcelona did not win the game today in my opinion they have improved considerably in their play and stand a good chance even in the champions League this season.

the fact is they are looking at the present situation but crypto market cap isn't even close to that of Real Estate yet, we are growing do not let anyone tell you otherwise,

I really pity those who are short-sighted and choose to consider the current situation as the beginning of the end for bitcoins. I'm be optimistic about the growth of bitcoins and all I can say is that time will tell. If you happen to come across individuals who are very rigid in their opinions regardless of the facts in front of them I advise you not to waste your sweat or stress much about convincing them so you do not begin to doubt and second-guess your opinions and decision to stick with bitcoin, usually time always tells.

What is Manchester United playing?! Teams like Brentford scored 4 goals in the first half. United failed to score a single goal.
Disaster class for MUFC conceeding so much goals and it is just the first half, the supporters will be furious with the team for playing like the lesser side. last week in their game so many complained that the coach made an error not starting Cristiano Ronaldo for the game but this week Cristiano Ronaldo has started and it's still the same problems. There is no coming back from this in the second half.

Manchester United's next game is against the Liverpool and if they put up this sort of performance without showing some sort of improvement before the next game, Liverpool will thrash them even with the home advantage that they may have. (I say "may have" because we see how Manchester United supporters are planning not to enter the stadium in the next game next home game)
2330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: August 13, 2022, 03:04:39 PM
I think Arsenal will continue their positive trend in this match.
I'm very impressed with our composure against Leicester, Jesus has been excellent taking full advantage of our chances so far, he is definitely on his way to becoming a legend for the gunners. Great that we have a two goal lead this halftime, thankfully to the VAR technology Leicester would have gotten that penalty which clearly was not. More of the same will be what Arteta should tell the boys.

I didn't see Manchester city game because i was engrossed in Arsenal's game, I saw that they are leading by three goals and was thinking that Halaand will be on the scorelist, surprisingly he isn't yet. let's look forward to the second half.
2331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 12, 2022, 09:46:18 PM
Big congratulations to Dortmund again,
Great fighting spirit from Dortmund,  they hit the overdrive button after the seventieth minute, and that equalising goal that slipped passed the goalkeeper, they went all in for the goals which came. They have started the season on flying form, and the introduction of these two youngsters Bynoe-Gittens and  Moukoko changed the game and turned it in their favour. Those two players have the potential to become very good players for Dortmund if they get more playing time.

Defensively, Dortmund still have to work on themselves, I believe they will have to show more composure behind if they are to beat Bayern this season to the title, there can't be room for silly mistakes.

2332  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Remember to use search before creating new topics on: August 12, 2022, 06:39:52 PM
Although it's better to not creating a similar discussion that has been created before, but sometimes a few discussion deserve a new topic since it's important.
There are two sorts of topics IMO, the topic that is started with the intention to ask a question to know, and a topic started with the intention to share an information or knowledge. If your intention is to share an information or your knowledge with the forum, endeavor to make use of the search option to see if it has already been shared so you don't create a duplicate and an unnecessary topic.

If it is a topic you intend starting with an intention to know better, still make use of the search option, but ensure to read through the topic that is if you find any topic on it already to see if they have been addressed properly. If so you can lay the topic to rest in your head and not start an unnecessary discussion, but if after going through the topic and your concern is not clear maybe due to your case being peculiar, feel free to start the discussion again from your own angle, you can go ahead to reference still that there was a topic of such before, but it didn't put your concern to rest. You have the right to ask a question in your own terms.
2333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin without internet: SMS service allows sending BTC with a text on: August 12, 2022, 05:52:59 PM
I will still stick to Bitcoin transactions using the normal internet service to process everything including the gas fee.
Don't be too rigid, this innovation may still turn out to be something very useful. What we need to look out for at the moment is the sustainability of this new development, how long will this SMS service permit this sending of btc via text? I'm certain there will be a lot of observers unto that regards, and truly if it proves sustainable, this is another welcome development that will spread quickly to other countries.
2334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your General Feeling After Playing In Casino In the last 10 session on: August 12, 2022, 12:13:26 PM
What Is Your General Feeling After Playing In Casino In the last 10 sessions?
Started picking up on slots and have been playing although not still very regularly. In my last 10 sessions, I won something good just once but I didn't feel sad that I had lost more money by loosing more times than I won, I wasn't happy about it either, I just had the feeling of entertainment, after all that was my motivation and purpose for playing in the casino in the first place. Say my motivation had been solely to make money, I definitely would have been sad, possibly depressed. Plus I played with an amount that I could afford to loose and could spare for entertainment so it didn't get to me much.
2335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best time to play Slot on: August 12, 2022, 11:51:44 AM
This does not mean that every time I play after 21 PM would be a winning session, but mostly are because I am fully relaxed and I can control much better than other times of the day.
I like this!

Completely accepting that my chances of winning are higher at certain periods IMO, can put pressure on me to want to play slots at these times with the sole intention of winning, and say it doesn't go my way, the disappointment will be even greater. I'd rather play with a free relaxed mind of high expectation (as you may never get what you don't expect) to win and also to have fun and be entertained while at it.

You have a better chance winning when you are generally relaxed as you play, so a great time to play slots for me is when you are relaxed. It may be during a holiday, the month end when you have just received a pay check (Certainly not the start of the month when bills are on your neck for the new month), or in the evenings when there is some peace and quiet. Pick a time when you are relaxed to play slots, your chances are usually higher then.

New development about the world cup.

-The tournament is now 29 days, a deviation from the regular 28 days.

-The world cup is now starting a day earlier, that is on Nov 20th instead of the former Nov 21st.

-The host nation's game Qatar will now be the first game, which is the norm we are used to but was almost taking a different turn this time with their game scheduled for the third game.

2337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: August 11, 2022, 07:29:33 PM
I believe this year's Europa league trophy belongs to hungry Arsenal...
It is arsenal's no doubt, we should have been in the champions League just as you said if not for some incompleteness in our squad, now Arteta is looking like he has fixed it with the introduction of some new key players, the champions League is Arsenal's destination... the Europa League is a journey going there. If we are not plagued by injuries again this season, Arsenal's only competition may be Manchester United if they pick up performance.

There are few crypto use cases that are exactly like when people dream of flying cars, its been years that many dream of flying cars and back in college some pal said we will see flying cars in the future and it never happen,
Don't be too certain that there are no flying cars at the moment, there are many technology that are currently available and we are all unaware of them because they have not been introduced commercially for use. I understand that  there are some impossible things that people reason out from complete fantasy, but as the years go by, there will definitely be more uses and application of crypto beyond what we are currently seeing.

technology has the fastest growth in the world but some thing will just never work out because no one needs them..
You could say no one needs them yet, or no situation yet has warranted its need, not a conclusive statement that no one needs them.
2339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Problem Gambler Feels After Losing on: August 11, 2022, 05:03:07 PM
Chasing losses
I recently lost on slots and couldn't meet up the minimum amount to make a withdrawal, I was disappointed and after a while went back to "chase my losses", guess what, I lost some more. I think that is regular for people to chase after a loss to try to win back all or even some as consolation. It can be a problem but cannot turn you into a problem gambler if you do it rarely because just like me you gamble occasionally.

Chasing after losses becomes problematic however, when you gamble regularly say almost everyday, and you keep making losses and chasing after them. This is the quickest way to make huge financial losses and subscribe yourself for depression.
2340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Bitcoin Village in Nigeria - Creating Bitcoin Adoption Without The Government. on: August 11, 2022, 04:01:06 PM
Nigeria is one of the Bitcoin savvy nation in the world, a the people there have great interest in Bitcoin, according to binance, Nigerians are among the countries with the highest transaction volume on p2p.
Very proud of my country and the large contribution we the citizens have made towards the growth and development of crypto generally regardless of our government trying to suffocate our efforts through unfavorable policies.

However, as other members have noted, I am also interested in how the whole project will be realized at all, considering the status that Bitcoin has in Nigeria, unless there is some way to realize the whole thing without breaking the law.
I believe that the strong restrictions the country has set again bitcoins is in no way permanent and will soon be put to rest when a new government that is more reasonable and friendly to new innovations get into power. This is perhaps what the people who started the project have reasoned. Bitcoin has the ability to outlive any government in power, so it will be unwise to not to plan for the distant future of crypto, because of a temporary setback as an unfavorable policy. So it is proper to keep getting the bitcoin village ready in anticipation of a better government that will have nothing against it.
