@TheQuin, you're going to end up with quite a lot of jobs then.

@Broken, the government doesn't have enough money to invest in this sort of thing and if he goes abroad to the BVI then they definitely won't have enoguh money to tend to it. Also since TheQuin doesn't have much programming knowledge (as he said) I think the site might be up for a bit of turbulance in the coming months...

It's good to be this busy.  Grin

I've got the village idiot on ignore but I guess he's got his tin foil hat on again. We're not based in the US and in the US regulators own words their jurisdiction only extends to sites that 'operate mostly within the US'.

My role will not involve any programming as wetsuit wants me to take over all the day to day running tasks so he has more time to do development and strategy.

agree! lower the house edge to 2-3% and remove all referral commissions
but keep reward point program running for the sole benefit of the user himself
I bet our favourite "thread's fan" Kiss will start screaming a different tone,
he will start demanding wetsuit to put back the referral commission system Grin Tongue

You've got it right in that reducing the house edge would mean removing something else. We're happy we have the balance correct at the moment and will not be changing that.

Exactly. The forum != our potential customer base.
Why have you been hired then and why does this thread exist?
[/quote]

I'm not saying that the forum isn't still important to us. I was originally hired to give support here to our existing customers and those that come here from the links we give to the forum from our site. What I mean is that just about everyone that is involved in Bitcoin already has (or had) an account with us. New customers come from a wider audience.

It'd look better with a 3% house edge with all the extras in comparison to a 5% house edge.
For you it'll be fun (although they do say not to meet your heroes)...

What I do know from the 6 months that I've been working for him is that if profitability increases he'll ask me how to increase the rewards without encouraging the bots, not how to reduce the income that funds those rewards. That to me is the whole business model and what brings new customers in from that wider audience that doesn't obsess about house edge in the way people here do.

I have to meet him as I'm moving out there to take over running all day to day operations.

Who's to say they're the minority, there seems to have been a lot of them here...

Exactly. The forum != our potential customer base.

Wetsuit is clearly making a healthy profit from this so it's not like he can't afford changing it to a 3% house edge and still make a profit or see how it goes...

We offer a different service and that has been very popular and successful for nearly 5 years now.

I can't see why he would change something that is working so well. I haven't asked him about this but it just seems illogical to do that to me. I'm going to meet him the week after next so it's going to be fun to chat and find out.
2344  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: September 14, 2018, 09:48:22 AM
Essentially just ignoring those customers requests...

Ignoring the minority in order to keep serving the overwhelming majority.

0%-5% is a very big move...

Yes, as I just said it was originally intended to be tempory and reduced. But it turned out that it didn't reduce gambling volume and spending the money by adding reward points, a lottery etc. was a more successful way to expand the business by attracting more customers than lowering the house edge would have been.
2345  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: September 14, 2018, 09:39:55 AM
Yes, I know. But I was under the impression that the house edge was initially much lower and
was raised to 5 % at a later date.

The site was originally funded by advertising and had a 0% house edge dice game just for fun. After about two weeks the bots turned up and started abusing the faucet so the 5% house edge was added. It was originally intended to be reduced but wetsuit stumbled on a sucessful business. It turns out there are many people that are far more interested in the extras we give and really don't care about the house edge. Over time advertising revenue dried up as rates reduced for incentivised sites and the site evolved into what it is now. We could completely change our business model and go and compete with dozens of other sites in the crowded low edge sector or we could ignore the few complainers and continue the way that works for us.

IŽd rather play on a site with a 1 % fixed house edge without
any of the mentioned features than at a site with a 5 % house edge that pays for these features.

That was the point I just made. You are welcome to do that and there are plenty of sites competing for your business. We offer a different service and that has been very popular and successful for nearly 5 years now.
2347  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: September 14, 2018, 09:06:04 AM
Ok, so if I understand correctly, your bots haven't been weeded out

DiceBots and scripts don't break any rules. In fact, we make more money from people that use them than the ones that don't. The people that use them tend to keep on wagering the same funds over and over until they eventually lose. The simple fact is that when you gamble on random numbers, whatever system you use, there will be a sequence of rolls that will result in you busting. The larger the sample size of bets is the higher the probability that it will include that sequence.

When it comes to morals people are entitled to think whatever they want to about gambling. Our business model uses a 5% house edge to fund a faucet, rewards program and lottery. When people ask about reducing the house edge I ask them which of those things we should remove to pay for it. Most people it turns out would rather we didn't. If they don't want those things then they can go to other sites but we're not going to change a successful business.
2348  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: September 14, 2018, 06:06:04 AM
Use of bots in any game generally reduces its viability.    I have this problem any time I go onto a computer game just for fun, some want to unbalance gameplay in their own favour and it ends up reducing gameplay.   The eventual result of bot use is there is no game left.

This site wont exist if all there is left is bot use, nobody is going to win in that scenario

Bots come in two varieties. The bots that cause a problem are the ones that claim free rolls and are used to massively abuse the faucet with multi-accounting. The other ones that automate playing dice are no problem at all as they do not give the player any advantage over someone playing manually or using our auto-bet function.
If anyone wants to use a bot for that I would recommend https://bot.seuntjie.com/
It is open source so you'll know for sure that it doesn't contain malware, it has many built-in strategies and a programming interface to create your own.
The developer is also honest and trustworthy, he understands gambling and doesn't pretend his bot can do things that are not possible.

I'm so confused as to what point you're trying to make here

He doesn't have a point that I haven't demonstrated is flawed logic many times already. As he keeps on repeating the same things and demonstrating he no understanding of gambling and is incapable of conducting a conversation (hint you have to address the rebuttal and not just repeat your false statements) I've put him on my ignore list. Just do the same and leave the village idiot sat in the corner talking to himself.

Btw, is it possible to see my total wagered amount? Asking because what I can see in my personal stats regarding my multiply btc rolls is only this:

The reason that isn't displayed is that it wasn't tracked from the beginning of the site so we don't have fully accurate numbers. We're probably going to add it soon as that only effects accounts that signed up in the first couple of years.

But as far as I understand there's a wagering requirement for increasing your FREE BTC rewards, right?

That's right. It is a ratio of free winnings to wagered on dice, jackpots and lottery tickets bought.
2351  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: September 12, 2018, 10:12:14 AM
If I'm not wrong gambling means a guessing game and nothing is guaranteed.

That's right. Gambling on random numbers is purely about luck. There are plenty of snake oil salesmen pushing systems and scripts that make false promises that they increase your chances when that is actually impossible to do. They usually come with the proviso that you sign up to the snake oil salesman's referral link and they are actually designed purely to maximise the referral commision by trying to roll over the same coin as many times as possible.

I must've maxed out the bonuses or something because I don't have the box underneath, but...

That's right, you're at the maximum which is a 19x bonus on top of the base reward added to all prize levels.
2353  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: September 11, 2018, 05:31:51 PM
He obviously meant satoshis, not BTC, but I think you know that. Wink What caught my attention though is that you are getting 600 sats per free roll. How is that possible? I mean, I know that you can redeem 3,200 RP to have 1000% bonus on minimum free FREE BTC reward for 24 hours after redemption, but that would be 352 sats (32+320) as of now, not 600 sats. Am I missing something or you were joking about that too?

It's the multiply BTC bonus as displayed on the free BTC page.

Hmm, I registered without using any referral, I guess it's too late now, right?

Not really a problem. Just don't use more than one account for free plays as I'm getting tough on people that abuse that.
2355  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: September 11, 2018, 09:53:30 AM
Yeah maybe you shouldn't have released you uid... Grin

Up until last year it was always in my signature here so not really possible to hide it.

Also, you get lottery tickets from referrals?

Quote
Receive 2 free lottery tickets for every FREE BTC roll you play, 1 ticket for every roll your referrals play and 1 ticket for every 0.00000500 BTC that you wager in the MULTIPLY BTC game!

I used to get about 800 tickets a week.

Quite nice considering I've never paid to advertise it.

My session expires soon so need help as soon as possible please.

The first thing to do is to extend your session. That gives an extra 7 days as insurance. I would also send a follow-up email to support if you have already been waiting 2 days for a response.

I can not log in, they write incorrect login data. What could it be?

PM me your user ID and/or email address and I can have a look.

You can turn off lottery in your profile and you get reward points instead. If you save up 100,000 of them then you can exchange them for 1 Satoshi each.

I did turn it off, but it applies only to lottery tickets received from free btc rolls, not multiply btc
most of my lottery tickets are gained from my own multiply btc plays Cheesy not referrals' free rolls
I have quite good amount on Reward Points because of multiply btc too, specially in 4x/5x RP bonus weekend Grin

Quote
If this option is checked, you will receive reward points instead of lottery tickets at a 1:1 ratio for all future FREE BTC rolls that you or your referrals play. This will not apply to any lottery tickets bonus that you activate using your reward points.

I didn't think about that, I just turned lottery off on my account this week as I guess a few people here would go a bit crazy if I won something. Most of my tickets came from referrals so I didn't notice that it doesn't apply to wagering yet.

lol... I accumulated over 220,000+ tickets too and no luck yet Undecided
I wish I can trade tickets to satoshi Tongue I prefer a small prize than a small chance for big prize
still have balance on multiply btc bonus, hoping this can be trade directly (without wagering) to satoshi too Grin
