Inaba and lodcrappo,

I hope you guys can call a truce and work together to fix whatever might be wrong with BAMT. I'm not sure what it is about forums that brings out the best in people. I KNOW both of you are smart and can improve BAMT.

Thanks,
gigavps

Remember you only have forty-five days from the date of the purchase to file a dispute with PayPal.  So I've got to put one in the beginning of April.  They still haven't replied to my email last week about my order but their website homepage has been redesigned  Huh

Please read the thread:

Looks like they have decided to put all of their resources towards producing for their current customers so I suspect most requests will go unanswered for a while.

2343  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: [BOUNTY 35 BTC] Integrate support for "other devices" in the cgminer API on: March 02, 2012, 11:13:45 AM
Fix #11 for BAMT provides cgminer 2.3.1f with the api.c patch.  Bitforce and Icarus are enabled.

As I also don't any hardware to test with, I can't say much more than "it builds, and it works for gpu mining".

I should be able to test this out tomorrow. Thanks lodcrappo!
2344  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT version 0.5 - Easy USB based mining Linux with farm wide management tools on: March 01, 2012, 11:04:53 PM
I don't know but I wonder if some of us should finance a bounty for a cgminer only distro.  BAMT does a lot (overclocking, pool management, restarting sick GPUs, etc) which is already duplicated by cgminer.

Since BAMT is 32bit I had to install LinuxCoin (which hasn't been updated in what 9 months? ) for my 8GPU watercooled rig.  Just to get a test environment up and running quickly I just dropped LinuxCoin on a USB drive, installed cgminer, wrote a couple scripts to launch cgminer in screen on boot and edited a cgminer.conf.

Trust me when i say my Linux skills are "special" and not in a good way).  That "temporary" rig has been rock solid.  Not a beep just hashing away @ 3.2GH/s.  It has done so well I am reluctant to touch anything.

So maybe we just need a simpler "static" distro (I would pay extra for one which has simple steps to setup and host via PXE) which grabs config files and sends statuses to a separate monitoring/management "server"?

+1

I will help fund this project.
2345  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [390 GH/s 0% fee SMPPS] ArsBitcoin mining pool! Come join us! on: March 01, 2012, 11:12:37 AM
FYI, back when I mined at this pool there was a bug with the website that when two blocks we found in quick succession, the second one would not show up in the stats but would be in the pool wallet. I do not know if this bug was ever fixed, but it could be a contributing factor as to why the pool has been having back luck.

If you go back in this thread, you can see instances where burningtoad would let us know a block was found and add it to the stats.

This is what halfway clean rigs look like.

Looks pretty clean. I think my cases are a tiny bit sturdier than yours though. I have also removed every extra fan out of my setup by undervolting a few rigs. Maybe I'll make a video.

Now back to our regularly scheduled thread topic.

Has anyone received any comment from bfl regarding why they no longer accept bitcoin as a payment method?

As others have pointed out in the forums, BFL has been bombarded by requests regarding purchase of the single.

Looks like they have decided to put all of their resources towards producing for their current customers so I suspect most requests will go unanswered for a while.

Did either of you receive an email when they shipped it?

Yes. I received an email when they shipped the single.

Honestly, regardless of whether you are replying to me or not, I am just tired as hell with your FAN-BOI posts in this thread.

I can point to a number of instances where you 'Set people straight' when they comment on GPUMAX by telling them to 'LEAVE' etc.

I don't know if you are part of the GPUMAX 'team', but you clearly try to get brownie pts at every turn with some of your posts and frankly it makes you look ridiculous, not to mention you have a habit of stating the obvious.

I like the service, I like dealing with Pirate....anything else you are unclear about ?

Do me a favor and put me on IGNORE. Please don't reply to another one of my posts anywhere on this forum.

Uh oh. I just replied to your post.......  Grin

As for my FAN-BOY posts. Yes, I am a fan of the gpumax service. It is the best mining platform. Period. If you want to make more BTC by just pointing your miners at a service, there is nothing easier.

I'm not quite sure why you are so mad. I only agreed with you.
2349  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: February 29, 2012, 09:59:29 PM
Are my suggestions so stupid that they don't even get a response anymore ?

I think you hit the nail on the head....
Are you serious ?
I'd suggest you finish that comment with a happy face or an LOL before you make my shitlist, douchebag.

So.... to reiterate.

- You made a completely absurd suggestion that would only waste the finite resources of the gpumax team (2 people).
- You then called your own suggestion too stupid to be acknowledged.
- I agreed with you.
- Now you are upset with me.

Bitlane, please put me on your "shitlist" and call me names for agreeing with your statement about your own suggestion.

Hilarious.

I'll try to hit you up in IRC this evening to get this thing on my BAMT rig.

I have not written API support yet - no bounty oh well I'll consider it some time in the future Tongue

Well I don't have one yet, but I'll contribute 5 BTC to you to write in the support.

2353  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / [BOUNTY 35 BTC] Integrate support for "other devices" in the cgminer API on: February 29, 2012, 12:05:45 AM
Hello fellow bitcoiners,

It would seem that the cgminer does not support reporting on other devices like FPGA miners in the API. I would like to start a bounty to have this integrated into a release of cgminer.

I will start the bounty with 30 BTC.

  • 30 BTC - gigavps
  • 5 BTC - gnar1ta$

If you would like to contribute, post below and I will update the OP.
2354  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: February 28, 2012, 08:46:06 PM
Never have mined that piece of shits pool and chill out really, I stated a fact of what happened with the payments according to my calculations of what was owed to me at that time. It is long past due for these boys to have a working payment system none of this when they get around to it then paying you. They get paid in advance for the work done so unlike pools there is no need for the BTC to be maturing causing a delay in your getting paid. In short if it staying as it is eg. no user payout option available then pick a time and stick to it so people know what is happening with their BTC.

If you don't like it, please leave. Otherwise, take it anyway you can get it.

You are coming off as unappreciative for pirateat40 making THE BEST mining service available.

@pirateat40 Whatever this guys is hashing at, I will gladly purchase more mining equipment to up my hashing power to your service so you no longer need his services.
2355  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: February 28, 2012, 08:28:21 PM

I am hoping that there isn't a half day hold on funds (ie. cut off time 1:00am, then payments sent 12 hours later).

Pirate, could you clarify please ?

That appears to be the case with todays payout everything up to midnight CST last night payed out fourteen hours later...

Ever mine on Eligius?  Sometimes you can wait for days before you get your payout.  Does your job pay you each day right as you are leaving work? Chill out.  14 hours isn't that long, really.

+1 and witnessed.

How can I set a static ip addres?

Use your router to set a static ip for the mac address.

BAMT + cgminer is now working with the BFL single!!!!  Grin  Grin  Grin

Thanks for lodcrappo for putting up with my linux n00b bull poopy and helping me to get this figured out.

Looks like he made a new fix for 0.5 that takes care of this for all the fellow BAMTer's!

Thanks again lodcrappo!!!

P.S. gpumon and mgpumon do not show any stats on the single.
2358  Other / Off-topic / Re: Butterfly Labs - Bitforce Single and Rig Box on: February 28, 2012, 06:17:49 PM

Using CGMiner.  For some reason ufasoft's 64-bit linux miner refused to generate/submit any shares.

Usiing a recent git pull version of cgminer, no command-line options are necessary for devices already connected to the computer, i.e. Luke-Jr is working on the Plug-n-play version, based on the git comments(haven't had any direct communications with Luke-Jr).

So this makes the 3rd confirmed delivery right?

I'm glad to see more singles in the wild!

e) the wife acceptance factor.  She has been a "trooper" with this mad scientist and 14GH/s of whirling, buzzing, heat belching fun.

I had to get a warehouse. Consider yourself lucky.

We are close.... I can smell it.  Smiley

That's good to know.  I spent some time without BAMT on my rigs...never again.

I know the feeling. Compiling shit and trying to find everything to get ubuntu setup with cgminer is quite a chore. BAMT is my friend.
