.......

I learned what it is. That's why I don't post nonsense. I learned. But you keep on posting nonsense.

Evolution is a hoax.

Cool

-No you have not.
-Yes you do, aamof, that’s all you post, nonsense...which is pretty old news actually.
-No you have not.
-No he doesn’t.
-No it’s not. But keep repeating it ad infinitum, like the ignorant fool that you are...
      whatever floats your boat....

I pressed fit an angled stand (made from scrap chunk of 2x4)  into a recess milled into the of the back of the coin plaque, then dowel pinned it (the coin plaque and stand assembly)
to the engraved walnut base plate. The plaque/stand assembly swivels on the dowel pin.
All ingredients are pressed and/or pinned together. No adhesives or fasteners used.
This makes for easy break down/assembly and possible future mods.
I'll seal/varnish it this weekend, then I think it will be done....finally.
This is the most fun I've had on CNC in awhile.
Thank you all for the merits. Much appreciated.... and good luck to all who entered.

edit....  added pic of finished job sealed and polyurethaned

Probably sirazimuth can barely read, so he doesn't. He just shoots off his sirazimuth (serious mouth) with anything that happens to come into his serious brain at the moment.

Cool

That's all you got?
I was hoping you would invoke your imaginary friend to smite me. Or maybe quote some more bible drivel.
And wtf is up with the italics? Is that supposed to make your post have more pizzazz?

Gotta love ya bro.....

Oh excuse me mods, I seem to be getting off topic...  here ya go....flat earth? thats retarded.

Just like all you brainwashed pious nutters. You never will never change.
It's why I don't bother debating you. Waste of time.
Mocking your superstitious bible delusions at least gives me a chuckle though.
Carry on dude ... your nutcase reputation on these boards is spotless.

You have been brainwashed into not accepting Bible truth. But there are loads of people like you these days.

notbatman has been brainwashed into believing knows that simple bible statements made for simple people, really indicate exactly what the universe is like.

You and notbatman are very similar.

8)
FTFY

You have no right to speak of biblical truth, the bible states directly and in no uncertain terms that the earth does not move.

A few examples:

1 Chronicles 16:30,
Psalms 93:1,
Psalms 96:10.

This biblical truth is verifiable using the scientific method; a mechanical gyroscope proven to respond to a 15 deg/hr rotation shows the earth is motionless.

BADecker denies both the bible and the scientific method in favour of propaganda.

And this ^folks, is precisely why I don't debate these two nutters,I just laugh at their delusional mentality.... although its comedy gold when they go at it...
I've said it before  and I'll say it again,

...you just can't make this shit up.

2352  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Did we actually really land on moon? on: November 03, 2019, 02:43:58 PM
Sorry, I know it's a digression, but I'm compelled to anwer this.

just a joke circulating, like the human theory that comes from the apes that does not make sense to me.
if humans from monkeys, why do monkeys still exist until now and have not evolved to become human ??

The question doesn't make sense. We didn't evolve from modern monkeys. Modern-day humans and modern-day monkeys evolved from a common ancestor. Yes that ancestor would have been a type of monkey, just not a modern monkey - because modern monkeys have also evolved since then.
But it didn't start with monkeys of course, you can go back and back, your family tree and mine and that of every mammal extends back to the point where life first crawled out of the sea onto the land. And it goes further back even than that... it doesn't start and end with monkeys.

Here's an analogy to answer your question: My father’s father died many years ago, but he left quite a few living descendants, including me, my sister, and my paternal cousins. To ask the question ‘If humans evolved from monkeys, how come there are still monkeys?’ is a bit like asking me ‘If you are descended from your grandfather, how come your cousins are still alive?’ The question doesn’t make any sense: why shouldn’t my cousins still be alive?

cue the evolution denial idiot reply in 3...2...  (they tend to frequent moon landing hoax, flat earth threads and other lunacy..... funny that....)
2353  Other / Off-topic / Re: Flat Earth on: November 02, 2019, 09:46:35 PM
@notbatman,
Stop shitting here please, Buy a telecope, get some vacation to the beach,
if the earth is flat, you'll be able to see the other continent and evrything there

You're a pretty shitty child if you think you can see extreme distances through the atmosphere, you can barely even see mountain ranges in the distance through the blue haze. I haven't even touched on refraction and the angular resolution limit of the zoom lens and I've already dubunked your shit-for-brains claim.

It's you that needs to stop dropping deuces here, get a Nikon P900 and go to the beach! Simply watching a boat disappear past the horizon with the naked eye then pulling it back into full view with a P900 debunks the globe.

Look. The answer to this is simple.

Fly a passenger-carrying, hot air balloon to a height of a couple hundred feet. Fly it as far away as you can so that you can still barely see it through the natural, atmosphere haze... if it hasn't dropped out of sight over the horizon, that is. The people in the balloon see you just like you see them.

You have radio contact. The people in the balloon use a transit to measure the angle between you and a distant, visible object that is on the exact opposite side of the balloon as you are, and exactly as far away as you are from the balloon.

If the transit angle is only the size that an angle would be on flat land regarding the height of the balloon, then the earth is flat or flat-ish. If it is greater, the curvature of the earth can be determined from what the angle is, minus the balloon height angle. This whole project can be done much easier from the top of a small mountain rather than a balloon.

If anyone wants to prove flat earth or globe earth, let him do this project, or find where people have done it. Actually, this or similar has been done long ago - https://flatearthinsanity.blogspot.com/2016/09/how-al-biruni-calculated-circumference.html.

Find additional similar doings.

Cool

Jeezus dude,
If you spent half the time investigating your sky fairy nonsense as you do to replying to batty's flat earth drivel in here,
you'd have figured out years ago that your imaginary friend is just as imaginary as a flat earth.

Then again, after seeing all the nonsense you post in other threads...maybe not...

I lost 80.1% of my brain cells reading this topic. It was a fun afternoon. Thanks guys Cheesy

Well, only another 19.9% to go, and you can be a flat earther, just like batty....

Beautiful coin.
What a piece of art. Out of curiosity, may I ask how long it took you to made that coin?

Nicely done sirazimuth!

Programming time (on Mastercam 2018).... I'm guessing around 1 hour total. (I did it in dribs and drabs over a few days)
Set up time on magnetic table....15 minutes  (very convenient to not having to deal with clamps being in the way)
Facing off slug parallel both sides...30 minutes
Engraving program cycle/run time.... 30 minutes.
Polishing? I'm not sure, as I had my neighbors brother do it at his shop (the backside is now a mirror  Cheesy) . I'm guessing an hour.

I'm now working on the wooden plaque to mount it on. I found a nice piece of hardwood plank (not sure of what tree it comes from, I think its black walnut)
that I just now fixed a clamping block to, using 6 wood screws.
On Monday at work, I'll clamp it in a vice on my the company's CNC machine,
write and run a quick program to profile and chamfer the perimeter, mill out a round pocket for coin to sit in snugly,
and engrave something below the coin pocket.
....On my lunch hour, mind you, so the boss won't get mad Cheesy.... (kidding , he wants me to make one for him too, lol)

(I might even post a pic when finished  Wink )

Pic of mastercam file so far...

Nice work bro, awesome.

One question, is the circular mark on the inner recess, part of the design or it is the result of using a dull end mill?

Actually, neither.
It was all cut with a brand new .125” carbide ball end mill .05mm deep.
The line(s) you see are the result of concentric tool paths .25mm (ten thou) apart.
They didn’t polish out but hey, kinda adds character don’t it? Cheesy

Damnit Theymos, I'm an engineer not an artist!

It's an actual 3d model I'm working on, still a work in progress.  The back of the (virtual) coin is blank still.  More to come.

Sweet!  Is that Solidworks?
I used Mastercam to create mine although all the models that I program at work on MC are imported from Solidworks.
I like your knurled edge. After seeing yours I got the idea to "cheat" mine with just lines.   Cheesy
Also I like how you embossed rather than engraved. I actually thought about that after I machined mine. (20/20 hindsight, lol)
Weird thing is, I found that after polishing, when I hold the coin up at a certain angle in the light, my brain
actually interprets the engraving as raised embossed letters.
Good luck with your creation.Cool stuff.

I just read a few hundred posts from this thread between Jan and March 2018. Don't really know what I was looking for.

Its interesting to see that, of the regulars who are still here, nobody has changed a single bit. It basically sounded like the conversations could have happened today.

Personalities are pretty set in stone, I suppose.

.....

I concur ....more so for guys, and it's mostly guys here, imo.

Brings this  to mind.....
