2341  Economy / Economics / Re: PEOPLE DURING THE PANDEMIC. on: January 18, 2022, 11:17:28 AM
OP,you are just making a bunch of vague statements that cannot be statistically proven.
You are saying that many people had lost their jobs, but the unemployment rates had actually normalized since the 2020 levels of unemployment.
You say that many businesses went bankrupt, but I don't have actual data about businesses going bankrupt.
The vast majority of the "brick and mortar" businesses survived the pandemic, some of them are thriving.
Some countries are facing bigger economic problems than others. You can't make generalizations about the all the people and all the businesses around the world.
NFT games are close to becoming a ponzi scheme.Good luck with trying to make money this way.
A game is a game, you could win,but you could also lose. You can't make consistent money by always winning.
This is every gambler's "wet dream". Grin It could never happen in reality.
2342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: January 18, 2022, 06:56:09 AM
The next big moves in the gambling industry would be towards the VR(virtual reality).
I don't know how this VR thing will improve the gambling experience. For some reason,Meta and VR technology is becoming the new big trend in the online world.I don't know why.
Decentralized gambling platforms are something that might not happen in the future, since the gambling industry is so heavily regulated by the governments.I guess that the authorities want casinos to stay centralized, because this way it's pretty clear who has the responsibility to run the business and who will be persecuted in case of scams and other sorts of crimes.
NFTs and play-to-earn games are another wave of "innovation" in the gambling industry, but I'm not sure about what percentage of these Play-to-Earn games are going to turn into actual scams in the future.
2343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Complete inelasticity of supply on: January 18, 2022, 06:34:52 AM
Saying that Bitcoin has inelasticity of supply is basically the same as saying the Bitcoin is scarce.
Most of the scarce resources on the planet have inelasticity of their supply.
Nobody is forgetting that Bitcoin is a scarce resource. It's actually one of the main features of BTC.

Quote
Quote
bitcoins value is not linked to supply/demand
. its value is window bottom and top limits, based on different costs to get it, lowest to highest. for different regions for different reasons

The value of BTC might not de directly linked to supply/demand,but the BTC price is definitely linked to supply/demand.You can't avoid "high school economics". It doesn't matter how much you hate it.
Saying that demand has nothing to do with the price/value of an asset seems kinda delusional.
If demand has nothing to do with value, then why are the people buying this asset?
The 2 biggest reasons are:
1.Expectations of selling that asset for a higher price and making profits.
2.Utility.Some people find Bitcoin more useful as a payment method than fiat money.

2344  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2022 bear market? on: January 17, 2022, 12:40:46 PM
As we have seen the bull market of 2021, history has shown there to be a following of a bear market in the next year (2022). What are your thoughts so far and how do you believe it will play out.

I think the bear market is still just starting, btc should now be around 16-22k on average price until 2025.

Your thoughts?

And where is your great analysis about why the Bitcoin price should be at 16-22K right now?
The current Bitcoin price is what it is.Everything else is just wishful thinking and/or FUD.
Nobody can say when the bearish market will occur.Maybe we are in a bearish market right now,or maybe the bearish market will happen, when price drops below 40K or 30K.
There's no guarantee that the Bitcoin price is moving in cycles. The BTC price is determined mostly by supply and demand, not by some imaginary cycles. There are some other factors, which can influence the price, but most of them are temporary-crypto whales buying and selling, bullish or FUD news about Bitcoin, crypto miners being kicked out by some country, etc.

2345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin payments decline as other cryptocurrencies grow on: January 17, 2022, 12:13:07 PM
Quote
And now that bitcoin fee is that high, what I noticed is that bitcoin exchange fee is higher than actual bitcoin fee, this make people to think it is high. Even less than $1 I used to make the last bitcoin transaction recently but if exchanges are charging $0.0005 bitcoin to a high amount over 0.0012 bitcoin which is $20 and above. They are misleading people to pay high fee when it is not.

I don't think that all crypto trading platforms are misleading the people.Probably some of them.
Crypto exchanges are the same as banks. They want to make money.
They will impose high fees,as long as the customers are OK with paying those high fees.If the fees become too high, the customers will simply choose another service or completely stop using crypto exchange platforms.Nobody is obligated to use their services.
I couldn't care less about Bitpay and what they have to say about Bitcoin usage on their platform.
The majority of the people simply don't want to spend Bitcoin for goods and services.
It's pretty normal that some altcoins and stablecoins are being preferred over Bitcoin for retail payments.

2346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto NFTs, what are your thoughts. on: January 17, 2022, 07:18:34 AM
The vast majority of the NFTs have nothing to do with art. They are mediocre pictures, which are being bought and sold with the expectation that their price is going to increase 10x.
If you are making "art" only for the sake of making money, then you are not making art.Believe me. Grin
There's nothing wrong with the artists making money, but artistic expression and making money are two completely different things, which cannot be combined.
Maybe there's a real piece of art here and there among all NFTs,but NFT buyers don't care about art. They care about buying and selling for profit.
2347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: January 17, 2022, 06:52:39 AM
It's going to be weird to watch the FIFA world cup in November/December.
I got used to watching the world cups in June/July. Grin
Is the football season in Europe going to stop because of the FIFA world cup?I don't know about this.
Anyway, everyone knows that European and Latin American teams are the strongest, followed by the African teams. The North American teams are usually at the level of African teams and the Asian teams(except Japan and maybe South Korea) are the weakest, compared to the rest of the continents.
I don't know about Australia, sometimes they play really good, sometimes they are a disappointment.
I'm sure that the pandemic will have a negative impact over the performance of the national teams. Some players will have to be quarantined, others might have post Covid syndromes, which will damage their performance. This is quite unfortunate.
2348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Changing my Thoughts And Behaviors. on: January 17, 2022, 06:26:43 AM
Bitcoin didn't change my behavior at all.
I don't discuss Bitcoin/crypto with other people and I can't say that I'm "enthusiastic" about Bitcoin/crypto projects.
I have always been skeptical about everything and everyone and Bitcoin is one of the few things in my life, which never disappointed me.
I was already financially disciplined before getting into the world of Bitcoin,so I can't say that Bitcoin changed something in my financial activities.
I remember that I was obsessed with constantly checking the current Bitcoin price on preev.com,but that was 4 years ago. Now,I don't bother that much about the current Bitcoin price.
2349  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Getting Used to The Market Situation is The Key to Becoming a Reliable Trader. on: January 16, 2022, 11:27:01 AM
It depends of what do you mean by "getting used to the market situation".
Simply knowing the market situation isn't enough. You have make a good technical and fundamental analysis of the market situation and you have to pick the right trading signals.
You also have to take complete control over your emotions and not freak out every time the price moves to an unexpected direction.
Practice is the key to success.Failure is the best way to learn(unfortunately it costs a lot of money wasted on unsuccessful trades, but everything good in life comes at a high cost).
Even the best traders had lost lots of money. You can't become a "reliable trader" on Day 1.
2350  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Fear Index at 10 on: January 16, 2022, 11:08:21 AM
I've always wondered how this Fear&Greed index is being calculated.Emotions like fear and desires like greed cannot be mathematically measured.
Extreme levels of fear on the Bitcoin market means panic selling.I don't see any panic selling right now.
Actually the price might start recovering slowly back to 50K USD.
I do believe that the price might be pumped back to 50-68K(or even above 70K) when the spring comes.
The Omicron wave will go away, the tensions between the western world and Russia/China will be settled and the global financial markets will face a rush of optimism.I also really hope that the "powers that be" won't launch another FUD attack over Bitcoin/crypto in the first quarter of 2022.
2351  Economy / Economics / Re: U.S. Contemplating Isolating Russia from SWIFT Banking System on: January 16, 2022, 07:20:30 AM
If Russia gets cut out from the SWIFT,how the Russians are going to get paid for all the goods they are exporting and selling to the rest of the world?Gold, fiat cash or Bitcoin?Nah,Bitcoin is not an option. Grin
I don't really think that Russia and the western world will go to war for Ukraine.A war means that both sides will lose and nobody is going to win.Putin is clearly bluffing against the west, because he doesn't have a plan B.
What's the plan B for Russia?Becoming China's puppet state and main supplier of fuels and raw materials, eventually becoming more and more dependent of the Chinese?
I think that Putin wants to keep all options available and he will agree to negotiate with the western world.

2352  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥 PlataØCrypto.io 🚀 - 1st Play to Earn x Provably Fair Crypto-Casino on: January 16, 2022, 06:57:00 AM
OP,you should first finish your crypto casino and your entire play-to-earn NFT gambling project and then announce it on the forum and start promoting it.
"Launching" a crypto casino, which is not yet finished and still in beta phase seems kinda unprofessional.
I see that you want to ride the "NFT/play-to-earn wave",but I need more info about your entire "investment scheme".
Be careful, when using the term "investment scheme" inside a gambling business. This would mislead many people,if it's being used the wrong way.
What's the weird symbol inside your domain name? Why don't you pick a short and memorable name for your business?
I assume that you are open towards constructive criticism.
Good luck with your project,OP!

2353  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin makes a loser a winner on: January 16, 2022, 06:35:26 AM
Who the hell would write Bitcoin with a big C,like BitCoin?
Is this the way people were writing the word Bitcoin back 2009-2011? Grin
I can't imagine offering Bitcoin as a prize back in 2011.The guys, who won BTC would have been pissed off by the fact that they have to create Bitcoin wallets, deal with BTC addresses and having to find a way to sell the BTC for fiat money. This is hilarious.
Is this screenshot even real?Screenshots can be faked by using inspect element.
Who the hell is keeping screenshots from Starcraft tournaments, which happened 10 years ago?
This is most likely a joke and Bitcoin was never offered as a prize in such tournaments.
2354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BlockChain and Bitcoin on: January 14, 2022, 07:32:49 AM
Bitcoin is dependent on Blockchain technology for it's full functionality and not until the outbreak of Bitcoin Blockchain technology was still hidden despite it's vast application in the society. Bitcoin is just an aspect of Blockchain technology making Blockchain a network of different innovations built upon trusted database. Remember Blockchain can either be centralized or decentralized depending on the intent of the developers and the level of permission granted.

What are you talking about?
A "centralized blockchain" isn't a blockchain at all.
It cannot be called a blockchain. It's just a database hosted on a bunch of servers.Somebody might call it a blockchain, but that doesn't make it a blockchain.(I'm not an expert on this topic,by the way). Grin
Do we really have to try to explain what Bitcoin and blockchain technology are a million times?
Are we living in 2010-2013?I believe that the vast majority of the forum users already know all the concepts of Bitcoin Core, blockhain, mining, hashrate, etc.
Satoshi left a whitepaper.I wish that all the newbies entering the Bitcoin community could just read it.
If they don't understand something, there are plenty of old posts in the forum around this topic.
There's no point of starting topics, which were ended years ago.

2355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: January 14, 2022, 07:00:40 AM
Athletic Bilbao is the living proof that football is still alive and still not completely turned into a business, where money is everything.I'm glad that they never resigned from the "cantera" policy of signing only Basque football players.Real Madrid is the complete opposite of this.
I really want Athletic to win against Real, but the odds are really low.Real is having a great team and players like Benzema,Vinicius Junior and Marcos Asensio are at their top level.
Athletico Madrid is one of my favorite football teams, but they are facing a hard time this year, despite having such great players as Griezmann and Suarez.
2356  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to make $ 1,000,000 out of $ 30,000? on: January 13, 2022, 12:36:46 PM
Why did you left your Telegram username?Do you want random scammers to contact on Telegram, trying to sell you snake oil and promising you ridiculous 10.000% ROI,if you invest BTC in their shitty HYIP investment scam. Grin
Don't set unreasonable goals and don't expect to win big.
You have already lost money in the Bitcoin world.Your big mistake was refusing to HODL and not believing in the future of Bitcoin. What's the guarantee that you will buy again BTC at 40K USD and you won't sell everything, right after the price crashed down to 20K USD?You have fallen in the trap of of panic selling once, you might fall into the same panic selling trap twice.
It is possible turn 30K into 1M,but the possibility is really low and I don't believe that some inexperienced crypto trader can achieve this.

2357  Economy / Economics / Re: US inflation jumped 7% in December as prices rise at rates unseen in decades on: January 13, 2022, 12:17:58 PM
The high levels of inflation in the US were pretty much expected, after the massive money printing and the COVID stimulus checks. How is the time for the Federal Reserve to raise the interest rates and stop the money printing, quantitative easing and other policies.Unfortunately the federal government of the USA will have to cut a lot of the government costs and try to lower the ridiculous multi-trillion federal budget deficit,in order to fight the inflation. This is highly unlikely to happen.
The devaluation of the US dollar will continue, but the US dollar will remain as the strongest and most stable fiat currency in the world, which sounds absurd. Grin
2358  Economy / Gambling / Re: What are the best ways to choose a casino on: January 13, 2022, 07:11:56 AM
Hello am new here and am interested in gambling but with the rate of scams casino I am finding it difficult to know the right site that don't scam players?

Just look around for reviews posted online an maybe some scam accusations and do your own research.
Which casinos have the most positive reviews and the least negative reviews?
Don't trust most of the crypto gambling review websites, because the only goal for 99% of them is to get affiliate/referral commissions from the crypto casinos, which they are promoting,so their reviews are pretty much biased.
My advise is to stick with the big crypto casinos, since almost all of the small casinos cannot offer something significantly better than the big ones and 99% of the small and newly launched casinos are basically a website template, which has been used over and over again,on hundreds of websites.
2359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My bitcoin achievement on: January 13, 2022, 06:52:39 AM
Is being a lab scientist doesn't give you enough salary?

Well, at least you did the right thing to invest your money while the price is still low and you did gain your profit during bull run. I'm surprised you didn't quit your job as most of the people that who has some testimony here quit their main source of income just to do full time trading in Bitcoin. I bet most of them regret those decision they made since trading is not for everyone.

Anyway, congratulations on your success.

Laboratory scientists are getting high salaries in the western world only.
I live in a country, where lab scientists get average salaries and a truck driver gets a higher salary, compared to a scientist(which is ridiculous).
Anyway,congratulations for your success,OP.
Perhaps theymos should create a "bragging" section on the forum related to all the people, who want to brag
about their financial success thanks to Bitcoin. Grin
This house looks really modest, but buying your own real estate with the help of Bitcoin is a great achievement.
I wish I could buy my own house with BTC,but I've wasted too many opportunities to gather more money.
I just sold my BTC at the wrong time.I wish you could buy a lambo with your future BTC profits. Grin
2360  Economy / Economics / Re: Is PayPal plannning to Launch of Own Stablecoin? on: January 12, 2022, 12:37:01 PM
I have a 10 year old Paypal account and haven't been using this account in the last few years(since I've discovered Bitcoin).I'm thinking about deleting that account, since I don't use it anymore, but I'm confused about the possibility of using this account for something in the future.
I live in a country, where Paypal isn't accepting crypto payments.I guess that all the "Paypal has become crypto friendly" thing is still in the US only.I don't care about Paypal since 2016/2017.I wouldn't care about them even if they create a centralized shitcoin.
This is definitely a clickbait article, but if Paypal really wants to launch their own token, let them do so.
Calling this centralized "coin" a cryptocurrency would be a big mistake.
