BTW jonesd you are doing a great job please do not go away like the last dev. LOL I just doubled down on QB.
Not planning on it! I am working on a larger initiative to revive other old coins as well: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=576714.0. This way, the survival will depend on a group of people and not some guy that lives in the attic of his grandma Cryptorush.in ate all my coins.
The site should be back really soon. Most of the coding has been complete. As of yesterday they where waiting for one more thing and then will be relaunching. Make sure you read the debt management plan. Once the site is up and running smoothly the QB wallet will be updated so you will be able to get your coins for any wallet that is not insolvent. It would really restore the faith of people if you would actually be able to get your QB back! I read your plan and I hope you will be successful (lost some coins myself there). My main worry with exchanges in general is the costs involved in securing so much money. We're still in the Wild West at the moment...

Hi,
Bad news...
We spoke to our datacenter and we seem to have some hardware failures somewhere. All mined coins are safe. We're working on getting the servers back online ASAP.
I had a feeling something happened to your servers. It would explain the sync problems. Jonesd if your still fully synced you should put a list of peers together for others to add as nodes. I'm succesfully connected to these nodes: 162.243.248.229:31616 66.172.10.61:31616 You can add them manually by going to help> debug window > console tab and write: addnode=162.243.248.229:31616 add and then {enter} to add it Then write: addnode=66.172.10.61:31616 add Hope this will fix it!

Wow, it is actually up by 500%!
Maybe the DEVs are planning something?
Hashrate is also three times as high!

When I updated my wallet I did not have to delete anything. I downloaded the new wallet and replaced the .exe file with it and it all worked great. You may have to add stuff back into the app data folder.
Always difficult these things from afar A firewall blocking connections is possibly most likely

hello the windows wallet has a problem??
"version" : 80401, "protocolversion" : 70002, "walletversion" : 60000
it has stop at current number of blocks 205547
and last block time Wed Apr 30 23:49:39 2014
thank you
Not as far as I can see. Maybe you could try to do the following: 1. Download new wallet: https://mega.co.nz/#!cIxD0D5K!ZwTTSbyGyTMT9tFWs_i1Ic2MmfFV77aQPLPMRRQaulA2. Close old wallet. 3. You should go to this folder on your main drive: users\(your_username)\appdata\roaming\quarkbar\ 4. In this folder, delete all the files except the wallet.dat and the quarkbar.conf. (if conf file not there, that's not a problem) 5. Start the new wallet and let it synch I did everything you told me! but now begin to synch { "version" : 80401, "protocolversion" : 70002, "walletversion" : 60000, "balance" : 0.00000000, "blocks" : 0, "timeoffset" : 0, "connections" : 0, "proxy" : "", "difficulty" : 0.06249911, "testnet" : false, "keypoololdest" : 1393790147, "keypoolsize" : 101, "paytxfee" : 0.00000000, "errors" : "" } Keep me posted to see if it fully synchs! sorry I did everything you told me! but now no begin to synch the translation in google translation was not good no start synch { "version" : 80401, "protocolversion" : 70002, "walletversion" : 60000, "balance" : 0.00000000, "blocks" : 0, "timeoffset" : 0, "connections" : 0, "proxy" : "", "difficulty" : 0.06249911, "testnet" : false, "keypoololdest" : 1393790147, "keypoolsize" : 101, "paytxfee" : 0.00000000, "errors" : "" } Okay, looking at the difficuty it shows, I have suspicion you're on the old chain. What you have to do is go to a hidden windows folder (enable "show hidden folders" in windows). 1. Go to your main drive (C:?), 2. Go to folder "users" 3. Open the folder with your username 4. Open folder "appdata" 5. Open folder "roaming" 6. Open folder "quarkbar" 7. Delete everything except "wallet.dat" 8. Restart the wallet 9. It should start from block 0 and synch (hopefully) Another option is that you have a firewall blocking the connection, but for that you have to add the wallet as an exception.

hello all!
I've not been active on this forum, but have been following the bitcoin and altcoin community for a while! I really like the idea of patching up abandoned alt coins, so like to be part of the foundation.
I've experience in IRC, ubuntu and some c, c++, c# and python. I'm also a good writer and understand what people like.
Thanks, zro

How do I know if I have to correct wallet update?
You can check it like this: 1. Open wallet 2. Go to help tab and open debug window 3. Go to console tab 4. Type 5 You will get information like this: "version" : 80401, "protocolversion" : 70002, "walletversion" : 60000, "balance" : ..., "blocks" : 204955, "timeoffset" : 0, "connections" : 4, "proxy" : "", "difficulty" : 28.78119242, "testnet" : false, "keypoololdest" : 1395692333, "keypoolsize" : 100, "paytxfee" : 0.00000000, "unlocked_until" : 0, "errors" : "" 6. Check if your version number and walletversion are the same as above. 7. If not. Install the latest version Thanks looks like I have to update. When I click the wallet zip link you guys posted it just takes me to a search engine. That site seems to be down. Here's another link: https://mega.co.nz/#!cIxD0D5K!ZwTTSbyGyTMT9tFWs_i1Ic2MmfFV77aQPLPMRRQaulACryptoALTex just updated to latest version, could someone confirm this is correct? Yesterday I put the wallet under another link, so that might explain the version? Edit: it does not. I am getting the same when I get the windos wallet via the link. I'll look into it

Price is slowly rising again and Hashrates are up!

Since the coin lacks a simple landing page, I created one with a free service: http://coins2join.wix.com/frycoin This way we don't have any costs and we can easily adjust it.

I will add it to the OP!

I think there are a few people here that are misunderstanding what this foundation was formed for. It is not about comparing coins and saying my coin is better than your coin. It was created to find coins with good charactoristics that have been abandoned by the DEV and possibly giving the coin a fighting chance. There are coins out there that were created just for pumping and dumping and there are other coins that were created with some very good charactoristics but for some reason the DEV walked away. There are some coins that are on the voting list that have DEV still active or maybe have a fairly strong community behind it already. If I understand the idea of this foundation correctly, these coins should not be here. The coins of focus should be the coins that have been dumped prematurely for no real reason, before they had a fighting chance. The coins we try to help should have merit with strong charactoristics but have been abandoned for no good reason.
Ok so we need to map that characteristics and transparently promote them on OP here! So we all now what does certainly coin need to be first on the list. Is that votes, is that innovation, is that good dev...etc. Hope to help here We really need more comms people, so PM me if you want to help me out. Maybe we can make a nice overview
