The screenshot link doesn't work I think better to the screenshot in other image hosting like https://imgur.comAnyway, If it doesn't work the only solution that I know is to flash the miner through SD card with Braiin OS but let me ask first if the miner still underwarranty? If it still under warranty much better to contact the support about your issue from here https://halongmining.com/contact-us/ or contact the distributor if where did you bought the miner. Under warranty? Really? ROLF... ref https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2443327.msg49806643#msg49806643 and a few pages before that spot. Not surprisingly, following their 'take the money and run' biz plan Halong went out of business at the end of last year and of course ALL of the folks who bought their miners are screwed. Frankly I'm surprised their website is still alive. The only non-scammy and good thing that Halong did was actually deliver the miners before disappearing.

If a DC in the US isn't using 220 they are fairly dumb, power efficiency is usually better at the higher voltage and most electronics are ok up to 240.
Agreed. All aspects of power distribution demand using a high line (208-240VAC). From cost of wiring, capacity/size of breaker panels used, etc there are many disadvantages to using 110VAC for any commercial installation.

Over clocking does NOT increase efficiency, just makes them run faster and hungrier. Every test on every miner made I've ever seen shows that just raising freq results in LOWER efficiency. Of course it works the other way as well, slower = better eff. That's the reason that all low-power modes also drop hashrate.

the problem is not to come in the S9 / S15 etc but to make it usable for everyone ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Er? What is that supposed to mean? Use a condom when screwing with them? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif)

Re USB cables, yes they need to be fairly short - as in 1M long or shorter - and preferably good for 'fast charge' which implies heavier gauge wires in them. Also relevant is that they be DATA cables and not just charging cables. In your case we know they are data because they *do* communicate. Something I've yet to see you post is the CGminer API log. That is much more useful than the kernel log as it tell us the condition of power in, Vcore, and AUC details and much more... if I can't remedize it will I have ti buy new hashboards?
Considering that Halong Mining, makers of the T1, are out of business good luck with that...

|

Ya need to learn to always look at a topics 1st post for info like that.... No the pool itself does not send alerts but, from that 1st post: edit: Curse ye! Ya beat me to it... ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

How many watts will it take to run this miner?
For a question like that, always read the 1st post. That is usually where specifications, settings, etc will be...
|
|

Considering I, my children, and possibly my children's children will be dead before the last BTC is mined, I for one find it pointless to be speculating about it... ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

Oh, and if you want to measure powerline surges a 'scope is overkill unless you are doing detailed analysis. A multi-meter or amp-clamp that has a peak-hold function is all you need.
|
|
|
It is not the miner you have to worry about -- it is the PSU powering the miner. The 'plug-in' surge is dictated by the bulk filter capacitors on the line AC to raw DC side of the supply and the amount of that surge will vary with the make and size of the PSU. General rule of thumb is to expect the heaviest draw during the 1st 2 full AC cycles as the caps charge up and that can be from 5x up to 10x the continuous current draw.
For up to a 2kw PSU personally I'd use relays or better yet contactors (yes they are similar in function but are 2 different things: a contactor is designed with heavy surges in mind) rated for least 15 amps.

VH has added the no boost option as it is on by default:- + cleared issue sending AB stratum message on non AB pools. + if pool indicates AB is supported, AB will be enabled. + removed option "--gekko-newpac-boost", use "--gekko-noboost" to force non AB mode. + added [plus] flag after chip count to indicate asic-boost is functioning.
Thats the issue I was having. With it ON i was getting no nonce and restart of the sticks constantly. With it OFF it runs as expected. VH is going to look at bitminter to see whats going on as the pool is an asicbokst pool. Then I stand corrected. I have not updated the software running mine in ages and its default is NO AB: AB has to be specifically turned on. In my case just a matter of "it works so leave it alone!" I take it sometime after the version I run VH changed that to be ON by default. Dumb move (making AB active by default) in my book because the smaller pools that accept stick miners probably did not do their homework and just went with -ck's implementation of enabling the pool end of AB expecting it to work without any issues... Kano delayed activating AB support for 2 months because he not surprisingly found several bugs in the example code -ck provided. As I recall, those bugs were specifically related to the new Stratum calls. Only after Kano fixed those and <ahem> PROPERLY TESTED THE CODE - unlike a certain other programmer/pool operator/mod who does not do that - did he enable AB on the pool. The large pools of course no doubt had the resources to figure it out fast as well.

|
I don't see --gekko-noboost anywhere in vh's public git cgminer.c source ... so that will stop it from running.
Correct. The only AB switch is to turn it on. The command to add to turn AB on is --gekko-newpac-boost If that switch is not added to the command line then the miner runs in normal mode without AsicBoost.

Unfortunately neither works for me in this case. I had someone at work check on them and he found that the breaker feeding them had tripped. He reset the breaker and all was well for a few hours but the breaker has tripped again. Since he is clueless about checking why it tripped (other than it being overloaded) because he doesn't know how the miners actually work, things will have to wait for me to get back & check the miners/PSU's and circuit loads and if needed <shudder> take one of the miners in the bank offline to lessen the load. Really starting to wish I had picked up a couple more M10's when they were available to start replacing the 841's... ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sherv.net%2Fcm%2Femoticons%2Fyellow-hd%2Fbanging-head-on-the-wall-smiley-emoticon.gif&t=663&c=iz0zExvE2NcS7A)

Well bloody hell... One bank of A841's in my farm are offline and I'm down about 40THs. Naturally I'm out of the country until next Monday so poop...

Those Tripplite industrial hubs are very nice. We use them on our systems as they are built like a tank, near bullet-proof, have tighter than normal plug retention plus can be fed off of our 24vdc system buss.
