Still enjoying my U.S. and Canadian VPSes and would like to retain them over couple of months, how long can it go? Is $1.50 the latest price?

I also had one last question could you tell me is there any space left for investors and also how do I become investor I didn't understand.
You can still invest, and it's pretty easy to do so.  Just click the Invest section of YD, and it will explain it there, as well as in the FAQ.  You can invest as little as 0.01 BTC.

To explain it briefly, you basically pick the amount you want to invest, and how much leverage, if any.  Leveraging is basically borrowing from the house to increase your investment.  For example, a 1x investment is no leverage, meaning it's 100% your money, and you would only lose 100% of your investment if the house lost 100% of its bankroll.  Say you invest 0.05 on a 5x leverage; the house lends you 0.20 for a total of 0.25 invested, however, if the house loses 20% of its effective bankroll, you lose your whole investment.

It's basically a way for users and investors to manage the amount of risk and returns they want to take.

~Randall
Tbh I still didn't understand. Let me specify a bit more I have 0.45 btc and I want to invest on their site I saw it is showing 6% in 30 days so does that mean that if I keep for 12 months my investment will increase by 72% and which is the safest I don't want to lend and stuff I only want to know how can I receive 6% interest per month.

Mathmatically if you plot a graph with the house edge for a player the longer they play the closer the graph goes to 0% then after that it starts to go -% and that is the house edge. Even though some players are luckier then others the profits over time should be steady. The profits will be at average 6% per month over the period of a few months. Its a good investment.

The leverage multiplier just makes it as of you had that amount of bitcoin invested but that means when you take hits your balance takes the same amount. That's a bit of a gamble but might be worth it.
Didn't quite took notice of the leverage multiplier until now and that's indeed an innovation from what's commonplace. I know multiplier leverage to be a double edged sword and players would do well to understand how it works before jumping at it, used properly, it would easily translate to extra coins.
2363  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hedge funds gamble on Mt Gox bitcoin payout on: February 19, 2017, 08:38:58 PM
I'm surprised that they are able to recover anything, but this could be a positive for Bitcoin. It could be a sign to potential investors that even in scams or hacks, some coins can be recovered.

If this is recovered, people will massive dump bitcoin, when mtgox dead, the price was 400 usd, they have chance to dump at 1000 usd, and they will dump it.
Guess that entirely your opinion but dumping of Bitcoin is no longer all said and done, because as more and more people are embracing Bitcoin, its decentralized nature really comes to the fore. I tell you what will happen, some people would simply sell their coins and wait to buy again at lower prices and that is called profit taking and not dumping. Good coaches don't replace a winning team!
2364  Economy / Economics / Re: Make money from money on: February 19, 2017, 08:20:50 PM

Quite agree with you, no one climbs a mountain just by looking at it. Most people we see as successful businessmen today, have stories of failure behind them, but something that set them aside from millions of other people that also failed is their never-giving-up stance for risk taking. Money doesn't grow on trees, therefore to generate it, value has to be created or added and that attracts some cost, that is where and why money is required to make money

I don't particularly disagree with you, I just want to add that we should not forget about pure luck here. Indeed, it is not about just luck alone since many people are pretty lucky (remember, true randomness is not uniform), but most of them just waste it ("from shithouse to penthouse and back again").

I say luck is when an opportunity comes along and you're prepared for it - Denzel Washington. All those instances of shithouse to penthouse and back to square one are vivid illustrations how luck can always pay for an examination, but never have to sit out the exam for you! If you are lucky to inherit a fortune, you are going to need more than luck to sustain it, without which the fortune is already out of the window.
Quote
But, on the other hand, there are many other people who also stick to a never-give-up approach but they still fail in the end simply because they didn't have a chance. In other words, many genuinely successful people are not just persevere but also had luck by their side

And they didn't let it slip when they encountered it
Going down memory lane, we can't help but notice that failure is usually the first leg of success and people who know where they're going like Thomas Edison, do not see it as failure - they simply take note of what doesn't work and then move on until something works. At best, luck is a recognition of hard work, the more you sweat, the luckier you become!
2365  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price climbing fast again on: February 19, 2017, 01:42:01 PM
$1050 barrier broken. We might retest the levels at $1080 that we saw if this keeps up. With only three weeks until ETF decision is made, this looks to me like classic hype bubbling up/accumulation.
The attributes of Bitcoin are as attractive as they are not easy to pass up. They have predisposed its price to be overall in uptrend, once in a while, one or two fetters would show up and pull it down, but it already have people's goodwill going for it and sooner than later the price shores up again, that is it! $1000 per Bitcoin is now a conquered territory, $2000 in view, thank you Satoshi!
2366  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitFlyer the world's largest bitcoin exchange Jan 2017? How? on: February 19, 2017, 01:13:54 PM
Yup. Zero fees. And if that 400,000 figure is true then 399,000 of them will be foreigners looking for action. Japan really doesn't seem to have taken to Bitcoin in any way whatsoever.

How does BitFlyer make it's money? The Chinese exchanges were making money through charging interest for margin trading - is BitFlyer using the same model?
it is just part of promotion , the site says transaction fees free at least for two weeks as campaign to attract people to trade there. so i guess after that the fee will be there as usual , no way they can make it last forever.
That's right, they are out to mop up those volumes of trade China is taking for granted and may have to introduce some fees in the long run. That goes to highlight what to expect when government tries to flex its muscle on Bitcoin and I hope they get to learn something this time around. Bitcoin is like the wind, it goes where it wants!

Quote
also if you take a look to alexa stats http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/bitflyer.jp , the whole traffic come from japan only , hmmm is there something wrong?
The statistics from Alexa must be showing the face value of the traffic it monitored, but the real description of the traffic is hidden somewhere in the space, because those Chinese traders know better than leave tracks of their deals, knowing their government was after them.

2367  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Will Spike Over 65% After Winkelvoss ETF on: February 19, 2017, 12:33:30 PM
We know how these things works... the Bitcoin price goes up and people take notice and the masters of the fiat world react by doing something to push it down again... Just when we thought things were going well, the Chinese government dropped the PBOC on us. The ETF approval will push the price up, but something will push it down again.  Angry
Since ETFs are created to track the price of an asset, they only have to create an arbitrage opportunity through some pricing mechanism that sells the shares at some prices lower than the market value of Bitcoin and the arbitrage situation that ensues will increase the demand for the ETF shares and the subsequent selling or redemption of the shares would then force the price down and close the arbitrage.

That goes to suggest that the government would rather be inclined to give approval for ETFs that tracks the price of Bitcoin, because it would then give them a tool to control the price of Bitcoin.
2368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pros and Cons Of A Country Doing "Bitcoinization" on: February 18, 2017, 01:23:18 PM
I don't see any pros for a country doing bitcoinization, instead there are lots of cons. Firstly bitcoin is an international currency and miners are the god of bitcoin. Why a country would want to risk their economy to the handful of miners?
Nevertheless, there are pros for a country to take to bitcoinization. First is that it stands to diminish risk on a country's local currency. Secondly, it is going to protect against inflation and devaluation. Both merits would culminate in a stable, secure economic and investment climate as pressure is off the local currency. However the fear of losing its ability to directly influence its economy is a strong reason, no country would want to go bitcoinization.

Quote
Secondly, bitcoin is available only till 2023. So a country can't develop with such a small future outlook. Instead they will have think for long term. So after 2023, they will have to adopt another coin to survive. So it is not at all a good idea for a country to adopt bitcoin as a national currency. Its economy will be in shambles.
Where exactly did you get that from?
2369  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: I did it!! bitchain LLC is born! on: February 18, 2017, 08:41:42 AM
And Yes....We are willing to bring in investors but there will be a bit of a vetting process and the min investment is $1,000,000.00 just because it becomes an accountant's nightmare bringing on a ton of nickle and dime investments. Sorry guys but I have to stick to the business model that the guy with the Masters in Business Finance wrote up if we want this to work without falling on our faces.
Interesting to know you also have intention of partnering with interested investors, but if the vetting process is all about those unable to cough out $1000,000.00 (one million dollars) then I already see a big crack in the business model proposed by your CFO. At that the funds through this channel may never come and that is not the same thing as recommending nickle and dime investments.

I like the idea of having as many nodes as possible outside of China, but it got me wondering, if majority of the equipment supplies is due to come from China, would that give you any edge to effectively compete with already established mining companies in China?

2370  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Will Spike Over 65% After Winkelvoss ETF on: February 17, 2017, 09:05:53 PM
So each share is 0.01 btc initially, but what is a basket: 50000 or 500000 shares?
If 50000, then it is 500BTC equivalent, pretty steep level for conversion.
If it is 500000, then no retail will ever convert a basket to btc as it will be above $5mil at current prices.
ETFs are targeted at high networth investors that can comfortably upto 50000 blocks of shares from the fund company and not just for every trader out there unless a brokerage company comes in to play the middleman.

Overall, I want to believe that the ETF stands some good chance of getting approved going by Trump's stance on reducing the burden of regulation in the U.S. and a number of Bitcoin enthusiasts that are close to the sit of power.

2371  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Skills vs Luck *poll* on: February 17, 2017, 02:48:58 PM
Yeah luck is required just till the luck doesn't become unlucky for you. I mean if you have a neutral luck and good skills like comparing charts and all then no one can stop you from making profit in long term and luck doesn't mean that we will have 0% luck rather I consider lucky person having a slight advantage over a neutral person.
Never heard of neutral luck! It is either one is lucky or simply a master at what he\she does. Problem with luck is that everyday cannot be Christmas and their obviously no future with hoping on hope.
Quote
You can see the example of bitcoins trading no mater how unlucky we are yet the price will rise some day and we will sell then, how can we give loss then in that trading ?
That only is the case, if a trader is knowledgeable enough to realize they cannot buy at just any price. If a trader ends up buying at the peak value, market may not be quick to return to that price level and sometimes as seen with some altcoin, it may never.
2372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The world's first calculator used to calculate the possible price changes of BTC on: February 17, 2017, 02:25:08 PM
What is the real purpose of this?

Yeah newbies might bite with this kind of illusion but once they knew it was all just mathematics then their out.
You cant predict what can happen with the investors,
I guess you have not been trading in the wider financial markets! If not, you would have noticed by now that studies in Sociology and Psychology asserts that human actions are cyclic in nature and so can often be predicted. Prediction as it relates to trading doesn't entail being 100% accurate all the time, any analysis that gives as from 70% accuracy is good enough to return profits for a trader that knows how to manage risk and money.

Quote
they might dump anytime or pump. It is all just for fun I think.
We are talking about Bitcoin here and I don't remember the last time it got dumped. When there is a drop in price, it doesn't necessarily mean the coin has been dumped, because the price didn't get to fall helplessly and never recovered. At the level Bitcoin is, it is now increasing difficult to dump it, because some many people are now having stakes in it unlike before. Price would often go down for profit taking or other reasons, but soon enough it would find its way up again.
2373  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Fixed income with BTC trading? on: February 17, 2017, 10:48:29 AM

we can not make fix income with btc trading and altcoin trading and i think its because bitcoin price and altcoin price is changing from time to time and what we can do is only make a profit or loss in value and waiting for next increase moment in next day. but i am sure and i believe that we can make living from trading as long as we can stay focus with the trading and we need to increase our skills too so we can make big profit.
I think it is for other reasons than price of Bitcoin changing all the time that fixed income might not be a possibility. For a trader, trading is not about buying at whatever price and hope it would appreciate soon, because it may take a very long while to or may never at all. For knowledgeable and skillful traders, I think the fact that Bitcoin price is never stagnant is some money, waiting to be cornered with the right tools.
2374  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Should I Choose Bitcoin ?? on: February 17, 2017, 10:26:05 AM
For me I choose bitcoin because of the number 2 statement it has low fees ! many times I need to constantly send money to my relatives that far away from us so sending mkney from over and over again will cause me huge amount of money , bitcoin is a great help for me and also bitcoin is also an investment that why I choose bitcoin because I love investments
These days they say the network is over crowded and so entailing huge volume of transactions to be on queue for far too long, that #2 - No expenses/low charges is fast becoming an illusion. I had paid two days ago a fee of 0.0008BTC, to have a transaction go through under normal speed, which means would have cost much more for a speed transaction and all these preferential confirmations are not for the good of Bitcoin and the community.
A day ago I also paid a high amount of bits for the transaction. I paid more than 0.0009 for one of my transaction and still it took more than a few minutes to complete the transaction. But I do not felt it as any issue for me because bitcoin already have a high profit for me and I would not have that money if theer was not bitcoin or if I would not choose bitcoin.
Only few consider the delay in confirmation as an issue. Most user who have the understanding and trust never lets it down. There is no  flaws in transaction, things go wrong only when we make mistakes. Using bitcoin you can earn good with the price movement just by holding. Also the technology behind it is in the peak, if you're good in it recruiters will give you a pay that you could have got from day job. It is the life provider for the one who trusts and works with it.
You happen to be the only bitcoiner that I know, who is not bothered about the so much delay in confirmation of a transaction. Here we are wishing that many more merchants should embrace Bitcoin as means of payment and then imagine a situation where, a merchant is going to have to wait for almost 24 hours before a transaction goes through! Is that a step forward suitable for the 21st century or a leap back to the stone age?
2375  Economy / Economics / Re: Make money from money on: February 17, 2017, 10:07:47 AM
What are the features that a good investor should have? What are the characteristics of people who have enough capital and earn money from money?

What are the factors that make these people successful in their investments?

There are many businessmen in this world that became successful and some are now called a tycoon like Lucio tan, Henry Sy, and others. If you wanna know about their secret success, several books has been spread out around the places which you can avail to buy it in any bookstore outlet. The only factors that they have in common as a business man was they have a positive thinking in terms of making money.

Books Can tell you what are the factors to make money from money by successful businessman, but its upto to any individual's action and mindset which creates a difference. Not only positive thinking, ability to take and handle risk and its consequences is all about making money.
Quite agree with you, no one climbs a mountain just by looking at it. Most people we see as successful businessmen today, have stories of failure behind them, but something that set them aside from millions of other people that also failed is their never-giving-up stance for risk taking. Money doesn't grow on trees, therefore to generate it, value has to be created or added and that attracts some cost, that is where and why money is required to make money.
2376  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hedge funds gamble on Mt Gox bitcoin payout on: February 16, 2017, 06:17:58 PM
Pfft...this isn't surprising that someone is trying to monetize the payouts.  That's what hedge funds do, they gamble.  Good luck to the claimants, I say.  It would be good if they got anything back.  Fuck Gox.
I won't call that gambling as it's more to me an educated guess, seeing all the creditor claims made to date have been reviewed and the Japanese government is quite keen at restoring some sanity and confidence to the industry. Moreover, there is already 202,185 XBT, about $91 million calculated at $451 cooling down at Kraken.

At the prevailing Bitcoin price of over $1000 compared to $451, the risk by the hedge funds is well worth the taking and the Bitcoin community would be better off for it even as they won't recoup all their claims.
2377  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm dumping my bitcoins so you should on: February 16, 2017, 04:41:56 PM
I will dump my bitcoins even the price is low or high because I wanted to exchange it to fiat cash immediately and cash it out. I don’t really trust the online storage of my btc balance because it’s very vulnerable to attacks of hackers who may steal your bitcoin money balances.
It might interest you to know that all what you highlighted are really nothing new. They are part and parcel of the human emotions that plays dominant role in driving price in every financial market - those fears, panic, greed, anger, rumors, etc. The market is however more formidable now than what it used to be, because much more interests are now vested in it. At that, when you think you are dumping Bitcoin, the market would only notice that someone just sold his/her coin.

Quote
All I wanted to do is to store my cashed out fiat money from btc to the bank savings I have, and make it grow for the future investments that I will be having and I will keep saving them offline.
It is a wonderful idea to save for future investment, but a fact to call to mind is that, there is no risk-free endeavor everywhere. While your savings at the bank might be safe from hackers as you claim, watch out, there are still thieves in the form of inflation and devaluation lurking in the corner!
2378  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Will Spike Over 65% After Winkelvoss ETF on: February 16, 2017, 03:23:58 PM
Exchange Traded Funds - ETFs are not for the average investors, because investors are going to have to buy shares directly from the sponsoring fund company (Winkelvoss in this case) and the shares are typically in blocks of 50,000. Essentially, they're investment vehicles targeted at the institutions and the very wealthy, who can afford to deal directly with the fund companies. Brokers sooner or later, spring up to bridge the gap for average investors.

The market price of an ETF is determined most by the forces of demand and supply for the shares of the ETF and to some extent by the Net Asset Value (NAV) of its portfolio. So it is not uncommon to find ETF's market price trading at different rate from the NAV, especially for those ETFs that're traded less frequently. As a result, the potential exists for ETFs to trade at prices above or below the market price of their underlying portfolios and often create arbitrage opportunities, which is an edge wealthy and institutional traders enjoy.

So Winkelovoss EFT stands to draw the attention of the wealthy and institutional investors to Bitcoin, which could easily translate to much more demand for Bitcoin and increase in its market value.
