2381  Economy / Speculation / Re: GBTC market sale at $175 sets new ATH at $1750 / BTC on: May 05, 2015, 03:34:44 AM
I congratulate on your sales but a full coin hasn't been bought at this rate yet. If and when that happens on multiple accounts, I believe that will be time for walking on sunshine. It's bullish nonetheless considering premiums for purchasing are like tips at this point. It's so amazing and incomprehensible that people can't get a coinbase wallet w/ 2FA and buy their shit at market price. Either way, rock on!

I often open carry, but it's all about what the police think of you when they see you if the law allows it or it's a felony. If you're dirty and unkept, you'll get scrutinized. If you have charisma/class and don't attract those that pass bad judgement on you, you shall be fine. Trashy folks of every race will be dealt differently than the rest by the police.

Fox interviewing witness: says guy was 18-19, sitting on steps of house, police car stopped by house, guy took off, police chased and then fired.

Witness says guy did not have gun in his hand.

A witness?

I witnessed a UFO land in NYC and shapeshift into a horse.

Where is Fox news when the big stories happen?
They were trying to generate a big story here, can't ya tell? It's now almost certain that a black man wasn't shot despite that social media is running with it that the police did so.

I agree, bears seem to get cautious now. If the market is undecided which way to go, it's your best bet to wait until it tilts to one side and then place your bets. If it isn't a bear-/bull-trap, you're most safe this way Cheesy
At no time in the recent past did we see bears thinking twice about their moves and/or s(ing)tfu about it while staying quiet and seeing what happens prior to now. Troll extraordinaires have subsided unlike any other times in the past which means something is brewing.
2385  Economy / Speculation / Re: End of the Bear Trend on: May 05, 2015, 03:11:00 AM
End of the bear market, now where did i heard that before (more like ; how many times did we hear that before) ?
It looks more like a ping pong than it is a bull's return. The only thing that impresses me here is that for a long time we didn't slip under 200$ mark, even when hard dumping was involved.
Maybe it indeed is a return of bull market, but i wouldn't bet on it just yet.
Folks should probably start to accept that the market can and will change sometime sooner rather than later. It's been a long haul at this point and the trajectory can't and won't continue. The bear market is dying and many bears are accepting or coming to terms with that.
2386  Economy / Speculation / Re: GBTC traded 765 shares today!!!! valued at $450 per bitcoin!!!! on: May 05, 2015, 03:05:01 AM
With this sort of action, I'd be surprised if the sellers who bought at reasonable rates aren't arbing on cloud 9 right now.

Fox News erroneously reports that police in Baltimore shot man

Fox News erroneously reported that Baltimore police shot a man Monday in the same neighborhood where unrest broke out last week — a mistake quickly corrected by the news network.

The midafternoon report by correspondent Mike Tobin, which also found its way onto Foxnews.com, was potentially dangerous, given the elevated tensions in Baltimore’s Sandtown section, where protests and looting erupted in the wake of the death of Freddie Gray while in police custody.

Tobin’s report caused about 30 minutes of unease in Baltimore before Fox anchor Shepard Smith went on-air to correct the story and apologize for the incorrect information. His apology followed a statement from Baltimore police that there had been no shooting.

You've got to be kidding, Fox just lost all cred on this here.

2392  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Poor people - an excellent investment. The growth in trailer park profiteering. on: May 05, 2015, 02:33:56 AM
A trailer is an easier destination for a displaced family rather than an apartment usually. I'm all for supply and demand, but when the demand is created by the magicians at the top skewing the tables and uprooting the economy, money supply and job market, that's what pisses me off. So now Buffett owns a major mobile homes manufacturer, major rail lines in the US among everything else. I guess you can't hate on someone for reading the tea leaves and profiting off the misery can ya..

Fiorina: first call as President will be to Netanyahu Wink

"She was very helpful to the NSA when she was head of Hewlitt," said Robert L. Deitz, a former NSA general counsel and former senior councillor to the director of the CIA. Deitz supports Fiorina's presidential bid.

Carly Fiorina: Clinton can't play 'gender card' against female opponent
...
Similar to many advisers in the Bush White House, Fiorina is a vocal proponent of a robust American presence around the globe, a hawkish worldview that lines up closely with Rubio, Graham and Arizona Sen. John McCain.

Like them, she has been blisteringly critical of President Barack Obama's handling of nuclear negotiations with Iran and of Russia's aggression toward Ukraine.

"We need to have the strongest military on the face of the planet and everyone needs to know it," (don't we already?) Fiorina told CNN. "America needs to face outward into the world, and I don't think it is helpful to our interests or to the stability of the world when people focus on turning inward."

Last week, Fiorina said that the second phone call she would make as president would be to the Supreme Leader of Iran -- after calling Netanyahu and before phoning Democratic leaders -- to inform him that "there's a new situation in town." Then she would impose "as punishing a set of financial sanctions as we are capable of imposing unilaterally."

When it comes to cybersecurity and information technology, the topics on which she advised the NSA, state and the CIA, Fiorina has little sympathy for fugitive whistleblower Edward Snowden, who leaked classified NSA plans to the media in 2013.

"I think Edward Snowden has been terribly destructive," she told CNN...

Former HP CEO Fiorina enters 2016 race, takes shot at Clinton

(Reuters) - Former Hewlett-Packard Co (HPQ.N) Chief Executive Carly Fiorina on Monday announced she is running for president, and took a shot at Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, who she said represents a political class that Americans are "disgusted" with.

Once one of the most powerful women in American business, Fiorina registers near the bottom of polls of the dozen or so Republican hopefuls and has never held public office.

She is positioning herself as an outsider with real-life experience earned through years in the corporate world.

Fiorina, 60, said the former first lady and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, belong to an out-of-touch political elite.

"She reminds people that there is a huge disconnect between that political class and the hopes and concerns of hard-working Americans everywhere," she told reporters on a conference call.

"I see that disconnect everywhere I go. I see people just disgusted, honestly, with the way the playing field is tilted against them, the disconnect between what they're thinking about and what they perceive people in Washington are thinking about," Fiorina said.

A breast cancer survivor who lost a stepdaughter to drug addiction, Fiorina is a multimillionaire who has known adversity.

She was forced to resign from HP in 2005 as the tech company struggled to digest a $19 billion merger with then-rival computer maker Compaq.

Around the time of her ouster from HP she was derisively dubbed the “anti-Steve Jobs” by one respected tech news website, though the Compaq merger was eventually seen as a success.

Fiorina is at the bottom of a Reuters/Ipsos online poll of actual and possible Republican White House candidates, with less than 1 percent support.

She has gotten a warm reception at events in the early voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire but she suffered an

embarrassment on the first day of her campaign when a critic took over a website with her name in it to highlight job losses at HP.

Visitors to the carlyfiorina.org site saw the message, "Carly Fiorina failed to register this domain. So I'm using it to tell you how many people she laid off at Hewlett-Packard."

The site showed "sad-face" emoticons to symbolize what it said were 30,000 job losses at the company. Fiorina's real campaign web site, www.carlyforpresident.com, featured a video from her about the presidential bid and other messages.

In 2010, Fiorina lost the election for a U.S. Senate seat in California to Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer, failing to benefit from a wave of pro-Republican sentiment nationally.

Baltimore got $1.8 billion in stimulus for education, crime prevention

The city of Baltimore received over $1.8 billion from President Barack Obama’s stimulus law, including $467.1 million to invest in education and $26.5 million for crime prevention.

President Obama claimed last Tuesday that if the Republican-controlled Congress would implement his policies to make “massive investments in urban communities,” they could “make a difference right now” in the city, currently in upheaval following the death of Freddie Gray.

However, a Washington Free Beacon analysis found that the Obama administration and Democratically-controlled Congress did make a “massive” investment into Baltimore, appropriating $1,831,768,487 though the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), commonly known as the stimulus.

See how money ever so efficiently solves all the problems over here? Progressivism works so eloquently. Roll Eyes End the drug war and stop subsidizing people (single mothers) from having children and the inner city problem would be solved.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Since at least 2007, the FBI has been able to recognize the voice of Elton Simpson - one of the men suspected in the Texas shootings outside a contest featuring cartoons of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad.

Agents heard the young man from Phoenix talk about fighting nonbelievers for Allah. About plans to travel to South Africa and link up with "brothers" in Somalia. About using school as a cover story for traveling overseas.

Simpson was arrested in 2010, one day before authorities say he planned to leave for South Africa. But despite more than 1,500 hours of recorded conversations, the government prosecuted him on only one minor charge - lying to a federal agent. Years spent investigating Simpson for terrorism ties resulted in three years of probation. He also was ordered to pay $600 in fines and court fees.

Political Blotter: Sen. Rand Paul to visit Bay Area on May 9

Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul will take part in a "Disrupting Democracy" event on Saturday, May 9 in San Francisco.

The event -- hosted by Brigade and organized through Lincoln Labs, a libertarian-leaning technology and policy group -- will focus on strategies and tools that can increase voter turnout and overall civic engagement among Americans.

Paul, the junior U.S. senator from Kentucky, will take part in a "fireside chat" with Brigade CEO Matt Mahan and San Francisco Chronicle reporter Carla Marinucci. Tickets are free, but space is limited.

Paul's mostly-libertarian political ethos is appealing to many in Silicon Valley, especially those concerned about government surveillance programs.

"We look forward to Senator Paul's participation in the first Disrupting Democracy conversation," Lincoln Labs co-founder Garrett Johnson said in a news release. "We hope he is the first of many candidates who will come and share their vision for the technology sector in America."

Paul almost surely will have private meetings and a fundraiser or two while he's in the Bay Area, though no details have been publicly released.
