Chelsea already have a ten-point gap with top four now. This is quite a big difference to close up for them. It is going to be not easy at all for them as they have a really inconsistent form.
Chelsea's previous narrow defeat against Manchester City last week made it even more obvious that Chelsea didn't have a good performance, moreover they will meet Manchester City again tonight in the FA Cup, I think Chelsea needs to fix it because if it doesn't do that it will make it fall even more from a safe position in standings

Chelsea seemed really eager to score especially in the first half of that match. However they couldn't score and Manchester City punished them for wasting many chances. Chelsea are still dealing with big issues when it comes to finishing. We will see if David Datro Fofana can make the attacking line more productive.

The fans might be wishing Nkunku was able to join Chelsea squad in January already. I think he would have made the biggest impact there.

I find Monaco's winning odd lower than I expected for the Lorient match - 1.89. I'd prefer to bet on both teams to score @1.62 instead of trusting Monaco to be honest.

Because these teams are quite close to each other in the standings. There is only a two-point gap between these teams. Monaco have an advantage actually because they are the second best away team in the league now. They lost only once so far. Lorient are one of the unexpectedly good teams of this season. But Monaco still have the strength to defeat them here. But even if they do so I will be expecting a small margin like 1-0 or 2-1.

Galatasaray had a really productive match and deserved this big win by 3-0. I'm really sad to see my team Fenerbahçe struggling like this in a big match to be honest.  Cry

I was hopeful about my team to have a decent game plan and fight hard against Galatasaray. But they were quite weak at defending especially and had big spaces for Galatasaray players to benefit from. Icardi's entering the match made Galatasaray even more productive. He made an assist and scored a really lovely goal. I was really shocked by İrfan's red card as well. He was in by the 70th minute and out by the 86th minute because of that action of him.

Manchester United and Newcastle are the strongest candidates to finish in top 4 for now together with Arsenal and Manchester City. Even Tottenham have a really difficult job to do against these teams. Seeing Liverpool and Chelsea both not being able to join the Champions League would be very surprising. I don't understand especially Liverpool as they have a really solid squad. They have a midfield problem though but it isn't the only reason why they are this bad now in the end. Now van Dijk's absence will make things worse in defense for them.

It has been making especially the Turkish media quite busy that Manchester United are interested in Besiktas' loan scorer Wout Weghorst. We can say that the player literally said goodbye to the fans on his celebration after the goal he scored today. However there is nothing certain yet. There are many news also saying that Manchester United's priority is Aboubakar.

Valencia lost against Cadiz, it is a new low, we were a bit better squad, Cavani had to sweat for 90 minutes, but Cadiz early goal resolved everything from the beginning
I just hate Valencia, they are on my blacklist but there simply weren't enough games yesterday so I gave them another chance since the stake wasn't that big anyway. Never again, watched second half and that is a team I am not trusting in the near future. They always find a way to screw my tickets. There is couple of clubs like that out there and I must admit I am much happier when I skip their games, both when betting or choosing what to watch.

I was also thinking that Valencia would defeat Cadiz home. However things didn't go the expected way. Valencia are showing a terrible performance this year already. By the way, Real Madrid's losing to Villarreal can be counted as a surprise. However it has been a bigger surprise for me to see that there was nobody going for the home team win in the pool including me. Smiley

I'm sure that nobody is following the Turkish Super League here. However there is a Fenerbahçe - Galatasaray derby tomorrow which is the biggest match of Turkey. I'm very happy to have found a ticket for the match. Cheesy I think we can take the lead by defeating Galatasaray tomorrow. To increase the level of excitement, I'd make a bet with a small amount as well.
2388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 07, 2023, 02:37:02 PM
So many games today in the FA Cup 3rd round. Strictly off topic as tris is a PL thread but whatever Cheesy
Will there be any upsets today, any smaller teams getting through to the 4th round with a giant killing performance?

What do you think guys?

Also may I just say RIP to Gianluca Vialli, a truly elite striker.

English teams are caring about the FA Cup quite much. Because of this they are starting the matches with a lineup close to their main ones. So the probability of seeing a surprise is lower. Today Tottenham barely managed to advance to next stage against Portsmouth despite having star players like Kane and Son on the field. I see Hull City having a potential to make a surprise today. I won't be very surprised if they eliminate Fulham.
2389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: January 06, 2023, 07:50:21 PM
This is like the brightest season for Arsenal in the recent years.

They have a pretty good chance to go for the English Premier League and Europa League titles both. They have done a good work so far about balancing them. For now they are completely concentrated on their EPL matches and things are going well there. They haven't faced a bigger team than PSV in the Europa League yet. But I think they would still show a good performance. Their results in their domestic league must be a good proof for that. As they care about both tournaments they wouldn't be complacent here as well. Besides they are lucky about another thing that one of the biggest title contenders is going to be out of the tournament by this stage already.
There is no doubt after the retirement of the legendary coach Aresen Wenger now they are at their best and having fair chance of winning trophies because Arteta done good job in last few months and able to have strong squad which can bring good and consistent results for them in any competition right now they are clearly leading the Premier League and having good success in Europa Cup as well hopefully things could be good and positive for them in coming weeks as well which will give them good success in these both competitions.

There was chance due to Gabriel Jesus injury they will suffer but things looking good and better, hopefully they will improve in coming weeks and January window is also can bring quality replacement for them for having their squad better for this season.

Gabriel Jesus' absence is bad for the team of course. However they have still been doing good for a long time despite this situation. It started with Jesus' unproductive period for like two months starting by the beginning of October 2022. They still maintained a great effort and continued to win their matches one by one. This is still continuing after his injury as well.

Because Nketiah is showing a performance which is more than the expected level from him. Because he wasn't known as a very productive striker. But we have watched him contributing with goals since he took Jesus' place in the starting eleven.

Liverpool's job will be pretty difficult in the Champions League if they maintain this performance now.

Actually they weren't playing in the same way as for the Champions League. It was like they were focused on this tournament more and this was helping them collect three points in nearly all of the matches. They are seven points away from top four now in the English Premier League. They still continue to lose points because of their weaknesses in midfield and defense. The defense can be fixed actually but they need to transfer a midfielder for sure. They had better do that before the Real Madrid matchup.

Wayne Rooney is said to be among the candidates to become Everton's new manager in case Lampard leaves or gets sacked.

I don't know how good choice this would be for the team. He managed Derby before and he is actively in the manager position of D.C. United. He hasn't managed any bigger team than these so far and I wonder if this would affect him badly in his first times at Everton if he is signed. Maybe Everton would make use of a more experienced manager to be better. It is like a gambling when it comes to trusting not much experienced managers. For example Leverkusen started to do well with Xabi Alonso.

We need to thank sportsbet.io specially for introducing Bitcoin by sponsoring one of the biggest teams in the most watched league in the world. These are advertisements that can attract the attention of even people who have no interest in cryptocurrencies as well. By the way, I was thinking that the Arsenal - Newcastle match would end up with many goals. I bet on over 2.5 goals as well but it ended by 0-0.  Undecided

It feels like Manchester City won't be having big difficulties against Chelsea tonight.

Chelsea have had serious problems so far and obviously not much thing has changed yet. They got a draw against Nottingham and they returned to the point they started very quickly. The World Cup break wasn't good for them at all as it seems. Manchester City also surprised us by the draw in the Everton match but there was still a solid performance there. They had an unlucky day. It is time for them to make up for this point loss by defeating Chelsea away. In their last head-to-head in this stadium, Manchester City were very dominant and won 1-0. This time there is no Tuchel as well and I think the gap might be bigger.

Toto Wolff seems very confident about W13.  Smiley

This makes me question one thing especially. I wonder if they are planning to do the same thing Red Bull did in the latest season. I mean that Mercedes might also spend more money than the limit for the developments of their car. In the end Red Bull didn't get a huge punishment for this action. Mercedes can also use this to their advantage in the upcoming season. If FIA change the rules about that and apply a bigger punishment upon Mercedes then I can't imagine how Mercedes will react to that.  Grin
2395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 05, 2023, 07:46:06 PM
I think the real problem with Everton is absolutely related to the management of the team. Lampard is obviously not the right choice for the team. We even haven't figured out what team is fitting him the best. Because he didn't have a good time period with Chelsea in the past as well. Maybe he still needs more experience as a manager to improve his skills.

Everton weren't usually this much bad before. Maybe they weren't having solid seasons either but at least they were able to finish at middle positions at worst. They need to make their move to bring back those times.

It isn't easy to make this top 20 players list in CS:GO indeed. But the positions of some players really surprise me.

For example YEKINDAR is seen at the 15th position now. rain and huNter have already left him behind. This might be a little unfair to YEKINDAR to be honest. Because he made a huge effort to carry Liquid. He was one of the most remarkable fraggers after making a really big effort. I thought that this effort would deserve more than this but we will see the other names above him. I don't know maybe YEKINDAR's performance while we were close to the end of the year wasn't enough to make the average much better than this.

Yeah pretty much the average stats of these players whole year round and which events they stand out is taken into consideration in the creation of this top 20 list from HLTV. It has been like this since I first started following professional CS:GO in 2016. YEKINDAR has been very explosive on the last months of 2022, but we haven't seen him popping off before that. He's like that average 0.8 - 1.0 rating player that knows his stuff around the map, knows his role, and can aim pretty well. huNter's placement is indeed somewhat questionable as he isn't that consistent of a player too, and compared to YEKINDAR, he's kind of left behind. I would even go so far as to saying b1t should be ahead of huNter- in the rankings but yeah, the Na'Vi rifler didn't really made that much noise too.

When we compare b1t and huNter's statistics we can see that there is a really small difference.

huNter seems to be better in 2022 by a slight gap statistically. And if we assess the situation by the impacts they have made on matches, I think huNter is still ahead. Because this year wasn't very good for b1t generally. There was a significant drop in his effort level in last months of the year as well. Natus Vincere really needed his great skills as a rifler. But he was quite inconsistent as a fragger. Maybe this was even one of the reasons behind Natus Vincere's bad form.

There is an info pollution about the Enzo Fernandez transfer to Chelsea. Because this time it is claimed by some sources that Chelsea aren't much willing to pay the amount in his release clause - 120 million euros. But before this news, it was like they were even ready to pay more than this value considering the probable terms of the deal with his release clause amount. They were thinking like they would be in more profit.

If they really pay such an amount then I wonder if they will be able to allocate that much money for some other transfers. They have made their striker moves though and Enzo Fernandez move would strengthen the midfield. I don't know if they would think of transfers for some other positions.
