I am still doubtful about Pakistan and whether they will be able to win against the Netherlands. They have been losing games where they were comfortable winning as seen in the previous two matches. South Africa has got the upper edge against India as they have good bowlers in their team and the Perth wicket condition suits them. Pakistan's chance in any condition is very bleak at the moment a lot depends on the other team's performance and they win the rest of their matches. If they do win today they will struggle against South Africa.

As expected another pathetic first session by Srilanka. They started very well but suddenly they became sloppy on the field and had a lot of drop catch. Glenn Philips was in a beast mode today. Every ball that he was hitting was going to the boundary. He now becomes the second batter to get a century in this T20WC. 168 target can be chased if one of the Srilankan batters can stay till the end.

The problem with the Srilankan team is that they do not have pace bowlers. Almost everyone is injured and those replacement are also injured. They have a very weak bowling line up due to injuries and this will affect their performance a lot. They do have good spinners but they are of no use if the pitch doesn't support them.

The Newzealand team is in good form but they have till now played only one match in this tournament. I don't think it should hamper their performance in today's match. Overall the Kiwis are favourite in today's match.

It just not bad but the right word here should be worst planning by ICC. If today's match gets cancelled due to the rain then Ireland would be in a very comfortable position to get into the semifinals. Afghanistan is far better than the Irish team and they need a chance to prove it. The forecast for Melbourne is rain for this week and the next one too. I hope the second match doesn't ends in the same fate as the first one for today.

After yesterday's shocking defeat it would not be easy for Pakistan to get into semifinals. Apart from winning all their remaining three matches they would need favours from other teams. Which means they would need all the luck to get into semifinals. It is highly unlikely that it would happen. I also feel that it would not be easy for Pakistan to defeat the South African team.

Biggest Upset in T20WC - 2022

First of all I would like to humbly say one word for Pakistan team OVER CONFIDENCE . Getting defeated by Zimbabwe is the most humiliating event happened to them after getting their win  snatched  by India.

This is hilarious in my opinion as the important player of the Zimbabwe side named Sikander Raza was not at all productive today. I was accepting Pakistan to win this match but as always they are dependent on the opening pair.

Getting into semifinals is no more easy for Pakistan after what happened today. This defeat should make the Pakistani side understand that all mighty will never help you unless you work on the basic.

What an amazing moment is for the Zimbabwe team. They were an underdog but after this win they have become a contender to win this tournament.

The fact is Babar Azam and Rizwan are completely out of form. These two have been getting out in a cheeky way. Both look clueless in this T20WC. The performance of Shaheen Afridi is not up to the mark. I feel he has not yet completely recovered. He has been bowling within 150km in this tournament. Another issue with the Pakistani team is the middle order. They want to go after the bowlers rather  forming a partnership or rotating the strike or getting those ones & twos.

This match would be interesting to watch. India is now on the top of the point table. Pakistan not only needs to win this match but also need maintain a healthy runrate. Aa after today's win by South Africa they are now positioned second on the point table. If Pakistan wants to enter the semifinals they not only need to win matches but also need to work on the net run rate.

Netherland's bowling has been spot on and their commitment on the field has been excellent. In my opinion they might have saved a good amount of runs through their fielding. India will try to set a target of 180 runs fir the Dutch to chase. It would not be easy as the pitch is not that fast anymore. At the moment Kohli and Surya Kumar are going good.

Today, I was expecting a target of 220+ runs from the South African side. 206 is still good and nearly impossible to chase considering the batting lineup of the Bangladesh team. Rilee Rossouw was unstoppable today, he became the 4th  South African batter to score a century in T20I and this was his 2nd century in T20I. This match is entirely in the control of the South African team.

India VS Ireland

Looking at the odds and the outstanding performance of the Indian team against Pakistan I do not have any doubt about which team will win this match.

I am very much disappointed with the result of this match. The match was called off due to rain in the 15th over. If the English side had played the full 20 over match then the result of this match would have been different. This is the problem with DLS method it only takes both run rate into consideration. We have seen in this tournament that most teams start fiering up in the end overs of the match and I assumed the English side was planning the same. Bad luck for England!

Ireland played really well today and those who placed their bets on Ireland would have made good money. This match might be one of the biggest upset in T20WC history. Those matches that are scheduled in Melbourne throughout this week and the next might end up either getting cancelled or ending up using the DLS method so if you're betting on match played in Melbourne consider putting your money on the team batting first.

I am pretty much sure Newzealand will win the match against Afghanistan. Not so sure about England now. They have lost 3 wickets before the powerplay overs are done. Malan is still batting and England needs this partnership to stay. Absolutely stunning bowling and fielding by the Irish team.

I hope both the matches scheduled for today do not get cancelled due to the rain. Forecast for Melbourne is showing heavy rain throughout this week. The first match between England & Ireland has already got delayed due to rain for now. if the game does starts after the delay then condition would not be good for the team that bats first. Therefore toss will play a crucial role in deciding which team will win today.

Good comeback by the Srilankan side. At one point they were struggling to hit a 4 or a 6 and even struggling to get singles. They also lost wicket in quick succession but in the last over they got 20 runs which helped them to go beyond 150 runs. A target of 158 runs for Australia will not be that easy. 

Australia did everything right untill the end overs. The last over of Cummins coated him 36 runs. Another issue with the Australian side in this match was the number of extra runs they gave to Srilanka. They bowled 12 wide which according to me shows how uncertain & distrust they were with themselves after their loss with Newzealand.

Australian batters need to work on their partnership and someone from the team needs to take the ownership to lead the team till the end. The pitch is difficult but those runs can be chased if the Australian batters remain calm and hit those odd bad balls.

Srilankan team can defeat Australia. The condition at the moment are more suitable for pace bowling but Srilanka does have a few cunning spinners who can use this wicket to their benefit. At the moment Srilankan batters need to form a partnership and go after the bad balls. If they are able to set a target of 150+ then it would not be easy for Australia to chase those runs.

The amount of swing this pitch is generating will affect Srilanka's ability to set a big target. I would say a target of 150+ would be competitive enough. The worst part is that Srilanka has already lost their in form batter Kushal Mendis. They need to form a partnership and go after bad balls rather than trying to hit every ball out of the boundary.

Bangladesh VS Netherlands

I was literally expecting the Bangladesh batters to go after Netherland bowlers. However the conditions were not at all helpfull for batters. It was so chilly and cloudy which I realised when Aland Donald was covered up in the dug up of Bangladesh team. Literally the condition were not at all suitable for playing. Still Bangladesh was able to set a target of 146 runs.

146 runs was not that easy for the Netherlands batter to chase. They are pretty in experienced and none of the batters were able to chase it.

South Africa VS Zimbabwe

I was not expecting much as the match was being played on the same ground. The match would have been cancelled as everyone knew the weather conditions.
