In recent times I would say the best player in the Indian team is Hardik Pandya. If there was one more player like him in the Indian team, then India would have been able to win the World Cup this year. Most importantly, the newcomers should be given a chance in the T20 format and it would seem appropriate if the senior player could compete in ODIs and Tate cricket.
Hardik Pandya definitely improved a lot recently and I do see sparks of MSD in him, but he wasn't the best player in the team during the T-20 World Cup. Sky was easily the best one among them all. Why? Because he was dominating the competition from ball 1 immediately putting pressure on the bowlers while maintaining an above average strike rate. Hardik Pandya is an amazing player. His performance in the World Cup was also excellent. We have seen Pandya's dominance in every Indian match. Pandya has been able to perform well in both cases. In the future we may see Hardik Pandya as the captain of the Indian team. Because we don't get better performances from KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma in World Cup. There was no consistency in India's performance due to the poor performance of the opening pair. Pandya is likely to be seen as the captain in India's upcoming series against New Zealand. And personally I want to see Pandya as captain of India. Hardik Pandya has played great in this World Cup. But I can't agree with you that Hardik Pandya will be the captain just because he played well in World Cup. There are many better players than Hardik Pandya in India team. But if Hardik Pandya can perform well. May be a captain in the future. Hardik Pandya was choosen as a captain not because of his performance in the world cup but because he captained a new team in the last IPL and also won it. The team for the upcoming Newzealand series was announced while the world cup was still going on and not after the world cup therefore his performance was never taken in consideration for captainship. In my opinion this is a great opportunity for him and if he is able to win this series then he might become the permanent captain for India's T20 squad. |

Nepal has not received much recognition for their cricket compared to Emirates Cricket. Here are some reasons. One is Emirates Cricket got ICC membership in 1990 while Nepal in Asian Cricket in 1994 Under-19 World Cup in 1999 and the ICC Trophy for the first time in 2001. I expect gradually Nepal cricket will improve If they increase their importance in cricket they will definitely be able to do better in future.
Nepal is a team which is 100% comprised of native players. On the other hand, the United Arab Emirates comprises solely of foreign players. Previously they had token Arab players such as Saeed-Al-Saffar and Sultan Zarawani, but now they have stopped including natives. And many of the foreign players are ex-first class cricketers from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Nepal is finding it very tough to play against such experienced players and therefore they are losing one match after the other. And this again triggers a chain reaction. ICC funding is based on performance. As a result, the funding for Nepal will be decreased and that for the UAE will be increased. I don't understand why don't Cricket Association of Nepal reach out to BCCI? Not sure about the ground realities of Nepal cricket much, is there any bad blood between them and BCCI in any way? If not, then both boards could indeed sign some sort of a contract where Nepali players get to play in the Ranji etc. I know many state boards in India will oppose it as they have to look out for their interest as well due to cut-throat competition among states. But still, they could include some players or maybe allow the Nepali team to compete in Ranji, just like any other team. Why will they talk to BCCI for help or support? That is something which they will never try to do as BCCI would take the credit if Nepal starts winning tournaments. Nepal is leat bothered about cricket if they want help then they need to talk to ICC. We know ICC doesn't cares about other boards unless money is involved therefore CAN should work on a strategy to revive cricket in the grass root level. Football is the most preferred sports in Nepal and accusing ICC or BCCI is just like blaming someone for a theft when the home owner is questionable. CAN is full of representatives who have a little or no idea about cricket. You need to check the About page, which states. Cricket, the sport that has re-conquered thousands of Nepalese all around the world, was first of all introduced to Nepal by the ruling Rana Dynasty when they returned from studies in England and India in 1920s though the game was kept very much within them. Starting 18th of this month India will play against Newzealand in Newzealand. Both countries were out of the T20WC in the semifinals. Hardik Pandya has been given the responsibility to captain this team. If everything goes well then he might retain his captaincy till the next T20WC. A lot of young talents who missed out this year world cup have been given an opportunity in this team. Most probably some of them will go on to play in the next T20WC which is scheduled to be held next year. Hardik Pandya is a good choice as the T20I captain. But there should be a complete revamp of the squad. Issues always arise when the same players are involved in multiple formats. IMO, senior players such as Rohit and Virat should rather concentrate on the test format. T20 is more suitable for the younger players, such as Rishabh, Shreyas, Ishan and Arshdeep. Another major development is that VVS Laxman will take over the coaching duties from Rahul Dravid. I don't know how it will work out for the Indian team. Your idea is quite reasonable. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli should retire from the T20 format. There are a lot of new talented players who also have a lot of potential. If India is to do well in the T20 format, changes are essential in these two places. Hardik Pandya is supporting the current team is really appreciable. In the World Cup semi-final, India's collection was likely to be even lower but from that position, Hardik Pandya managed to steer the team into a reliable position. Although they lost that match drastically but Hardik Pandya plays the highest role in various disasters. He deserves to lead Indian T20 cricket. @GigaBit not just the player but team India needs to have a dedicated coach for the T20 format, because I feel that the current coach can’t help them win T20 World Cup. Furthermore they need more depth in bowling and senior player’s should make way for younger player’s, and if they fail to do this then next year too they won’t win the T20 World Cup again. At the moment for the upcoming tournament BCCI has opted for Laxman as a temporary coach. I think they are on the testing him for this tournament and if the team performs well they might ask him to be a full time coach for T20 format. At the moment, England is under no pressure. They need to collect 7 runs from 12 balls right now. The English still have enough wickets. In fact, the Pakistanis were first told that their runs were too low. The batting performance was so poor that they could not score enough runs. Pakistan failed to capatalize this amazing opportunity that they had. After getting into final I was certain that they would give a good fight but highly disappointed with their performance. As usual the batting failed and from their it became clear that they would lose the finals.
England dominated the game from the beginning. Their bowlers did a very good job in restricting Pakistan to just 137 runs. I was expecting the Pakistani team to reach to a decent score of 150 which they failed. It is not easy for bowlers to defend such a small target against a good batting line-up of England.

The openers are a burden to Indian side the problem is that you cannot drop both captain and vice captain. That is why now BCCI has decided to keep Hardik Pandya as the captain of T20 squad for the long term and have asked Rohit whether he would like to play in T20 matches the same goes for Virat Kohli too.
IMO, players such as Rohit and Virat should concentrate more on the test format. Hardick is the best choice for T20 captain at this point. But I don't know how much acceptable this will be for the senior players. T20 cricket is the major money churner and they definitely don't want to stay away from T20Is. And now with the departure of Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI officials will be wary to antagonize players such as Virat. We have around one and half years to go for the next edition of the T20 world cup. The selectors should focus on rebuilding the team before that. This decision of not considering some senior players and asking a few legends whether they want to be part of the T20 squad by BCCI came after few big corporates like Mahindra and Reliance were not happy with the way India lost to England. BCCI doesn't want that kind of question mark on their authority. Indian management has failed to fulfill its responsibilities. KL Rahul and Ashwin have consistently played poorly. While KL Rahul played well in a few matches, Ashwin was a complete flop in the World Cup. Although India has adequate replacements, they have given Ashwin a chance in every match. However, India failed to qualify for the World Cup finals. We will probably see some changes in the Indian squad in the upcomming series after the World Cup. I will not blame Ashwin much. Australian pitches are not very supportive of spin, and on top of that Ashwin himself has a poor record outside India. But in general, the Indian spinners had a poor outing in Australia, be it Axar or Ashwin. I don't think that any other spinner would have performed better than Ashwin. I don't think that this is a valid argument. IPL only helped the Indian players, although it might have impacted their performance in the test format. Without the league, it would be impossible to find exciting young talents such as Arshdeep Singh and Surya Kumar Yadav. But the problem is that IPL benefitted most of the top T20 players around the world, as dozens of overseas players also take part in the IPL. The only ones losing out are Pakistani players and those from smaller nations such as Zimbabwe and Netherlands. IPL factor is surely having some impact on Indian performance, but they need to play their cards wisely like right now too much greediness is killing this with teams number are increasing and quality is also going down with event length is also not favourable for players here they need to do positive developments like keep just eight teams with increase quality and give better schedule for them which help to them instead of having more matches and long term event which is surely not helping and most likely it's going to be had impact like English Premier League which is toughest and highly paid but never helping English players as they face fitness issues and too many games which surely bring negativity to them. How can IPL be an issue for Indian team. There is no correlation between IPL and the Indian teams performance in the semifinal. Another important match and another defeat from a team that gets paid the highest match fee in international cricket. I am not sure what went wrong today! I know the whole team is in fault.
To those, who said BCCI controls ICC and wants India to win the world cup, next time think before you utter a nonsense. To those highly paid players of Indian team especially the stars who charge 10 million or so for a Instagram post, you are a disgrace for Indian cricket. To the captain of Indian team, you should have been the flag bearer and not a failure.
I still can't digest this humiliating defeat as none of the bowlers were able to get a single wicket. What went wrong should be the primary focus but I know BCCI would not go into those details and niether would they drop those players.

The opening pair have been able to form a good partnership and if they continue then I reckon this match will be over within 15 overs. I’m wondering if England are going to do it this time. Something just tells me it might be their year. Maybe I’m just being patriotic or something. I think a bet on an England cricket & England football team, World Cup winners double might make sense  It's a battle of 2 batting powerhouses. You guys are favorite but we are not too far behind. So far both teams didn't perform according to their reputation, especially their batters. Indian openers are turning out to be a dud and English batters are not doing what they do best so it does look dodgy for both sides. This has been happening from the last two matches. Rohit Sharma is still struggling with his timing and I am hoping he would be doing his best today. The India middle order has been performing really well the only issue is with the lower middle order. Last match Rishab Panth was not able to capatalize his selection and DK & Pandya has been struggling with timing. England has the best depth in batting but the English management seems to be confused with the order. Another huge blow for England is that Mark wood is not playing the semifinals.
