2381  Economy / Speculation / price went up, opportunity to buy cheap is now lost on: March 26, 2017, 01:17:34 PM
as i am writing this price is $984 according to bitfinex and it seems like the opportunity to buy cheap coins with a big discount is now officially over.

finally the sell pressure is not to be seen and it seems to me like FOMO[1] is kicking in. specially since many weak hands sold their coins in the depressing days recently. lets see where this ends up. i hope everyone learns some lessons from this.

[1] Fear of Missing Out
2382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Segwit at 50% by time of writing on: March 25, 2017, 12:23:36 PM
http://litecoinblockhalf.com/segwit.php

I've noticed Litecoin is steadily climbing up, often dropping back a little bit but it keeps rising. Given the fact the chinese actually use litecoin, the possible LTC segwit activation and LTC being a good coin in general with a very stable price, i believe we could see a rise to 0.15btc in the next few months.

very interesting, do we have any news that i missed which led to this rise. i remember hearing F2pool wanting to activate it a while back but if they activate it won't be 50% it will go to max Smiley

and yeah, if it activates i believe it would be a big step forward for the whole cryptocurrency world.
first it will be a big hype rise for litecoin which can end up being the new ATH record for it.
second it is bitcoin's brother being upgraded and if miners see SegWit in action we may see it activate in bitcoin too and the both coins rise to the moon fast.

right now litecoin is rising irregardless of this. try to enjoy the ride!
2383  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Opportunity is here?? on: March 25, 2017, 12:12:44 PM
As we all are aware that the price of bitcoin is drastically going down so can we called this a trading opportunity.
What i was thinking is all the people who are currently holding bitcoin can convert it to any alt like maybe monero and let the price of bitcoin go more down and then buy when yiu think the price won't grow more.

Disclaimer:
I would recommend only for those people to do who will get some sort of profit by selling their bitcoin if you purchased at a higher then i would recommend you to refrain from doing this.

I think this is whats happening now and altcoin are the direct beneficiary of this  btc dumping. In several exchanges, several altcoins usually in ETH contract are on green, it means up. It is good if you are knowledgeable trader, you know where to put your btc.

not really, it is because of how bitcoin is and has nothing to do with eth and its contracts.
it is the season of altcoin pumping and everywhere you look there are altcoins, some of which so random, getting pumped 100% at a time.
for example: Dash, XMR, XRP, PIVX, NXT, LTC, Doge, Lisk, FCT, Ark, and lots of others.
2384  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price fall.Where will it stop? on: March 25, 2017, 12:02:59 PM
BE WARNED

there is another wave of bullshit talk about low prices such as $700, $800, and even $600 price. this is the ETF all over again.

i am not saying it will or will not go there, i am just saying remember not so long ago people were saying price will fall to $600 because ETF was rejected and we saw what happened.
just make your own decisions.
2385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I got $100 to blow, what coins should I get on: March 25, 2017, 11:55:15 AM
if you want to invest that money in, then buy bitcoin. it is cheap right now. but if you want altcoins no matter what then i think it is best if you don't think about the bigger coins right now because it is almost too late to get any of them, coins like ETH, DASH, Monero have gotten pumped for the past weeks. it is near the end.

if you want profit look in coins that haven't been pumped. coins like LTC, XRP, Doge, ... these coins are either not pumped yet or they are starting to rise and when they do you can expect a big profit.
2386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC vs BTU will lead to Ethereum dominance. on: March 25, 2017, 11:50:54 AM
OP is right afterall, the bitcoin debates and the fluctuations or even sometimes when bitcoin price stays the same stable price, it is always a good opportunity for ethereum supporters to pump their coin and help us bitcoinhodlers hodl more bitcoin when we dump etherum after the pump Smiley
2387  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to buy back up! (again) on: March 23, 2017, 11:41:03 AM
today i see the price is down until reach $106x and i made a bought order, i hope i can make a profit if the price is up to $109x but i am not sure about this. as long as the price is on the $107x - $108x and there is no deep down for the price, i think its still a good price to buy and we can hold it as long as we want until we are sure how much we want to sell it.

I personally don't find it worth to buy and sell one Bitcoin where you look to make just around $30 in profits. It's only worthwhile if you have a massive number of coins that you are using to scoop up such small profits. If you would do that with 100BTC per time, it would mean that you gain 100x $30 which nets you $3000 in a relatively short time taking current volatility into consideration. In that regard, you are better off just holding that one Bitcoin for a longer period of time. I would just wait until I at least have made 30-50% in profits, otherwise it's not worth selling.

well it is still profit and if you can make $30 on your investment it is nearly 3% profit in a short time! i say it is a good deal. if you can make it regularly then it sums up to a nice little profit at the end of the month.

but i get what you say though. i personally prefer holding bitcoin for long term, it is less stressful and more profitable at least for me. instead i trade altcoins short term and make 300% haha
2388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If money would not be a problem, would you still gamble? on: March 23, 2017, 11:26:44 AM
the problem with this question is that, money will always be problem in the real world that we live in.

it really doesn't matter how much money you have and how much of it you gamble, since there is no limit to the maximum amount you gamble in real world and also there is no restriction on what you gamble in the real world, you can gamble all your life away and become poor in a blink of an eye.
and when you gamble as a rich person the risk is even higher because others gamble with more caution but not a rich person.
2389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dash or Ethereum? on: March 23, 2017, 11:20:26 AM
DASH

lol, if i wanted to choose i would have chosen Lisk instead of these two Smiley
i mean seriously it is a good coin with features that are much better than that scam ethereum, what the hell are you guys doing over there. just get the word out, your coins should be worth $50 at least by now.
being based on Javascript is more than enough to give it the edge.
2390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: whales are back to BITTREX on: March 23, 2017, 11:11:26 AM
can you elaborate? did whales leave Bittrex for some reason, to come back now? i don't remember seeing any signs and as someone who has been trading on bittrex i have not seen any signs of total daily volume of bittrex dropping or even see any of the pumping coins be left hanging. the activity has been there

unless you know something secret that i don't Cheesy
2391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin won’t hardfork like Ethereum on: March 23, 2017, 11:04:47 AM
good article, i liked it.

my opinion which i think is worth mentioning here is that the mining industry is not stupid enough to fork without consensus, meaning without the majority of hashrate supporting a single thing. it is simply way too risky move to do.

imagine a split happens and one of the chains' coins be worth a lot less. this simply means they are losing 12.5BTC to 14.5BTC (depending on fees) worth of revenue. and depending on how low that price would be, they can potentially lose a lot of money on each block. now considering they mine multiple blocks each day this loss is also multiplied each day and sums up to a big enough $$$ number that will definitely make any person with smallest of brains think twice.
2392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Long Term / Bag Holder Altcoins ?? on: March 22, 2017, 11:57:00 AM
.....
Yup that is true. But what you are saying about whales and manipulators is about altcoins being traded. What he is asking is about if there is an altcoin that can be hold for long term that will increase its value overtime. So in short the altcoin he is looking for is not meant for trading but for investing.
pump and dumps kill the altcoins in long term. when price goes up, people join in and then they get dumped on and are forced to sell at a loss, the next time price rises fewer join in and price goes less up. the next time less and less until the coin disappears or it takes a year to see another pump and then disappears.

...
Surely it has to be more than that?
i wish i could tell you otherwise.

Otherwise, wtf are we all doing lol ...
we are making money! isn't it obvious... lol
why do you think there are so many pump and dumps, so many ICOs, Pre-mines and so many different methods of manipulation. because simply everyone is looking to make more money and guarantee they can do that.

For me personally, I see a future in Fintech and cryptocurrency and all this innovation that's happening, hence the investing.  Fair enough the whales can dictate prices but reasoning behind the investing has to be in the mind of every person doing it .... otherwise we're just wildly throwing money at coins yeah?!
once, there were innovations. there were enthusiasm and the developers knew what open source and inventing something meant. they weren't doing it to make money.

these days (so called) developers are looking at community to see what kind of "bling" the community is looking for. so they add it to attract more people.
and worst of all they are looking to make money from creating a new altcoin. so they care less and less about real world application and care more about that "bling".

not saying there are no innovations, there surely are many but they all go unnoticed. i am not going to name any names but these coins always go on with low price and die. maybe some day someone picks up the idea and makes an awesome coin out of it but not today.
2393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: All in Decred, Lisk, Ethereum classic on: March 22, 2017, 11:46:38 AM
i am always afraid of investing in ETC, that is why i have never held any more than a couple of hours until today. my fear is from ETH manipulations. they are known to dump it to prevent it from going anywhere and don't forget when they forked they had all the coins.
but regardless of this, i find ETC a good coin because it is not centralized like ETH but still i has the same bugs and problems. and we can see these days it is being pumped anyways.

i have missed Decred so there is no point in talking about it Smiley

but i have always believed in Lisk, it is a good coin. but it is sad to see that it is not popular. it needs more advertising to get the word out. it is a lot better than ethereum.
in the long term i think it has lots of potential to go up.
2394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Long Term / Bag Holder Altcoins ?? on: March 22, 2017, 11:33:15 AM
i am sorry to disappoint you but what you seek is not found in altcoins.

the only thing you will ever find in altcoins, is pump and dumps so it is best if you try to adapt to those or don't enter the market at all.
and by adapt i mean, invest before the pump and sell those coins short term after they got pumped a bit and gave you the profit you want.

- Good tech
- Inovative & Useful Features
- Strong future prospects
- Solid team
- Regular social media presence
- Higher marketcap (or potential marketcap)
- anything else?

none of these matter.
the only thing matters is how many whales and manipulators that altcoin has. if it has lots of rich whales (Ethereum for example) you an be sure of the pump and a big profit.
and if the pumpers and whales don't pay attention to a coin, no matter how much innovation it has, it will never go up.
2395  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to know about next pump? on: March 22, 2017, 11:29:33 AM
There are many ways maybe by reading news about bitcoin like if a big company is going to adopt it the price may increase or by statistics of the past and growth rate percentage.
For me i don't spend so much time if i think the price is low i just buy more.

i wouldn't call bitcoin rises a "pump" because a pumps is not a real rise and it will fall, and if bitcoin was being pumped we would have gone down back to $0.10 already.

pump happens in the fake altcoin markets when out of nowhere and because of nothing the price rises and it rises big and fast. and also it is followed by a big dump right after the top has reached.
2396  Economy / Speculation / Re: Possibility of Fork ever closer ??! on: March 22, 2017, 11:19:31 AM
There's many companies now advising investors to pull out of trading for the time being ? Are we getting closer or it's not confirmed ?

No, the possibility of a fork is getting further and further away. at first there was like a 5% possibility of fork and now it is like 0.005% possibility or even less.

and if a "company" or whatever imaginary thing advised you to pull out of trading bitcoin then maybe you should stop listening to them and use your own head.
2397  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: If you have 10 BTC = Approx $10,000, where would you invest for 1% monthly? on: March 20, 2017, 01:02:02 PM
there are already too many "where to invest bitcoin" topics that you can go through and see what is happening and you'll realize it is mostly disappointing because real businesses are rarely accept investors and when they do they take one or two big ones.

the only other business is casinos that is also risky but it can also give a good profit.

if you ask what i am doing, is that i hold most of it in bitcoin and that is my investment. and i plan on hodling it for years.
in the meantime i dedicate a percentage of it to trading. sometimes bitcoin trading when i am feeling good about market and most of the times the altcoins that are being pumped.
i also though about lending but that was too much work in a already saturated market and full of scammers.
2398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top 5 Altcoins to Trade/Invest on: March 20, 2017, 12:41:45 PM
So if you are an altcoin trader, (like on poloniex or similar platform)
What are your top 5 altcoins at the moment to trade for profit or invest in?

this is always a bad question.
and to find the answer you need to do it on your own, people here will only advertise the bags they are holding in 99% of the times!

and for trading just check altcoins that have a high enough daily trade volume and are not in a bubble.
for trade volume it is easy, just change the chart to 1 day charts and check the daily volume.
for bubble again on the same chart you need to look for a flat line or a big sharp drop in price to get it. when you saw a big sharp rise be sure that it is already too late to get in.

although there are a lot more, but what i said is the important part.
2399  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to buy back up! (again) on: March 20, 2017, 12:36:44 PM
Well, good point ha!

I guess I have to grab more bitcoins today... can't wait to sell @ 1,200  Grin Grin Grin

if you want to trade short term then there are so many other good opportunities, such as buying at $1015 and selling at at least $1050 over and over today and making money!

but if you want to go long then now is the dip everyone were talking about when price was over $1200. buy and hodl for at least a couple of month until you see a sudden rise, then sell and buy back at correction. then hodl until another and so on but over all hodl for at least 5 years.
2400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin holders, are you diversifying in case the fork proves catastrophic on: March 20, 2017, 12:21:07 PM
NO.
i have invested my money and i have diversified my money, and i am not willing to change the percentage of that diversification that much. it may chance up to 5% at times but this is not the time.

i have invested in bitcoin, gold, real estate (house), and some in altcoins and i have always been this way. and at times like this when bitcoin price drops i up the percentage of my bitcoin investment to buy more cheap coins. and when things are normal again and stable i bring it back to normal comfortable percentages.
