2382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Suggestions/tips for starting mining on: October 31, 2017, 12:44:47 PM
Hello,

I'm looking to get into mining Cryptocurrencies, and I think starting out on GPU mining may be the best place for me. Are there any suggestions on what I should mine (I have an AMD R9 390X coupled with an FX-6350).

I've been researching Bitcoin Gold a fair bit since the fork, but the overhanging skepticism that it was a cash-grab scam has sort of detered me from wanting to mine this, but there must be other currencies that I can mine from my GPU.

I'm very new to this, so I'm sorry for seeming like I have no idea what I'm on about

You have to do your own due diligence in researching, you should not jump because others are jumping.  People always follow, and alot of people felt the same of bitcoin and alt coins at one point.  Do not take the advice of people, not even mine.  You cant trust what people tell you, unless they had made billions on investing.  Being an entrepreneur is about taking risks, and you will lose and win, nothing is set in stone.
2383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what happened for altcoins ?we are still lost more money on: October 31, 2017, 10:50:06 AM
You should not be investing for short term run, most people who are investing in this are here for quick cash and that is where they lose out.  You should be investing and looking it at a 5 year investment.  There were alot of alt coins 5 years ago that were doing this, just look at the data on the graphs to see history of coins and if they drop more buy more.   Those people who are panicking are the ones that are looking to make crumbs for short term, while the whales travel and wait it out.
2384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we explain that the bitcoins is not a scam on: October 31, 2017, 10:27:38 AM
Only yesterday's television shows here in our country could be a bad thing when you get involved with bitcoins. I'm so frustrated that the tv host has shown that bitcoins are a scam. Because of the fact that he has made many people will definitely not try to enter the bitcoins yet. And because that would be like an investment scheme that looks at bitcoins. That's not really true because bitcoins used to do bad things. And what I was most disappointed was that this tv host did not say the good side of bitcoins.

Now my question is how we can explain to those who watch tv that bitcoins is not a pyramiding scheme.

The reason why these scam accusations stems from comparing it to fiat, which is absurd.  1. you have to let people know that bitcoin is not money or cash.  Its is a cryptocurrency which in itself has a total different meaning, you store value into bitcoins.  I think you should compare them to gold when explaining it to people.  Bitcoins a total of 21 million will exist,  Gold we dont know how much gold we will keep getting from the ground.  There still tons of gold deposits, mines, that companies today are still mining, hence gold value is stuck or will decrease.  I believe people will always find gold.  I can go through a list of what you can use to compare, but you will have to do your research and if you know what bitcoin is, then I am sure you are smart enough to come up with an idea to explain it to all the 101 bitcoin dummies.
2385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Virtual Reality on: October 30, 2017, 03:30:53 PM
Here it can be done, especially for gambling.  Some can create a virtual room with a poker game, dice game, roulette or even slots.  Then we can a shot via bazzar or overstock.com virtual market place where you can see the product in VR and you can make a bitcoin payment if they accept bitcoin of course.  The possibilities are endless.
2386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saving Bitcoins for your Children. on: October 30, 2017, 03:07:49 PM
Ok I want to mention alot of people in keep talking about bitcoin as an investment is kinda a bit troublesome, we should think of it as an currency.  Currency since you can shop with it now, am right?  Also to get on topic,  Ill save coins for my kids tuition and there education.  I want my kids to be able to provide for themselves.  Child is more stronger this way and once I see him at that level, then Ill throw him some bitcoins here and there.
2387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ELECTRONEUM: they released the first video about the ETN videgoame to mine coins on: October 30, 2017, 12:53:00 PM
I can see this being a well verse way of mining, especially for video game streamers.  Also they will need to find a way to support platforms fro unity to android, unreal engine, etc...    It works on apps now, so that will affect its pricepoint.
2388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in in altcoins on: October 30, 2017, 11:36:32 AM
The best way to find a good altcoin is to research on your own, it's better than others people opinion, you can see the coin team and developers, the roadmap, the community, so you can make sure you are investing on a great coin. Didn't what is a good altcoin is? Go visit alunacrypto, the blog had a guide to finding next profitable altcoin.

I didnt ask what coin to invest in, I should had lock this topic due to people who just post fud, just to make money on sigs. you should mark this as non constructive cause this was not the question I was asking.

Bitakayena

i have no idea what this word means or where you are taking it from but "bitcoin" itself is not hack-able. the way private keys are (a random number in an unbelievably huge range), and how the hashing to get the public keys and bitcoin address (ECDSA and SHA256 which are irreversible) makes it un-hack-able!

your wallet is hack-able though. if you are not careful, use a weak password or have a compromised machine that you use for your wallet.

ps. more than 8 years of being around and not being hacked even once should answer your question though!

Anything is hackable is just about having the necessary skills for it
2393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you need licence to open up an online Bitcoin Casino? on: October 28, 2017, 11:30:06 AM
Seriously, you don't need license to operate bitcoin gambling site, because it is a virtual currency, not a real currency. Smiley

Just to let you know virtual currency and cryptocurrency is not the same thing, they are differences between the two, bitcoin is a cryptocurreny.

Virtual currency is a simulated currency. Meaning it does not have the properties of money. An example is virtual currencies in games. The supply is controlled by the game company, they decide when to issue more (or sometimes not as bugs create duplication).

Digital currency has all the properties of money, while existing on the internet.
2394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Countries developing their own Cryptos on: October 28, 2017, 06:42:19 AM
Russia wants to create the crypto-ruble. The problem with government money is that it is more fiat money in digital form than cryptocurrency. I guess we have to wait and see
You're right!
I would say that cryptoruble and similar governments backed coins are exactly fiat money in digital form. And those digital fiat money do NOT have anything common with basic principles of cryptocurrency.
Just a bad attempt to look modern.

This cryptocurrency cannot be mined and will be issued and controlled and maintained only by the authorities. The CryptoRubles can be exchanged for regular Rubles at any time, though if the holder is unable to explain where the CryptoRubles came from, a 13 percent tax will be levied. The same tax will be applied to any earned difference between the price of the purchase of the token and the price of the sale  So your kinda right in a way, its an bad attempt
2395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 21 million bitcoins - 11+ billion people on: October 27, 2017, 12:42:53 PM
There's a hard limit on the number of bitcoins that can be mined: 21 million coins, which is expected to be reached by 2140.

The world is expected to add another billion people within the next 15 years, bringing the total global population from 7.3 billion in mid-2015 to 8.5 billion in 2030, 9.7 billion in 2050, and 11.2 billion by 2100, according to new estimates from the UN.

If bitcoin truly does explode in popularity, think about this for a minute;

Only 21 million bitcoins and 11+ billion people.
With this ratio, the possible price of 1 bitcoin could be huge.

What are your honest price predictions given total world popularity in the years 2020, 2050, 2140?

2020: 20k
2050: 100k
2140: 1m

I think this prediction might be a bit off.  I know we will get 20 k before 2019 because the next moon rise will be around in another year or so,  In 1 year. you should have based the prediction on an every 5 year scale.  Bitcoins will be at 1 million dollar each before 2030.  I know that demand will be higher then supply before 2025.  Miners wont be able to keep up with the demand due to hoarding.
2396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Brace yourself, Bitcoin Silver is coming! on: October 27, 2017, 01:05:39 AM
This will not be healthy for bitcoin to be getting this much forks, people gotta stop giving the day of light to buy fud scam coins.  Everyone wants to get rich and that is what seems to be driving the crypto community.    Lets stop forking bitcoin and start spooning it.  I think no one else should take these forks serious any more, they are a joke like the ICO's now.
2397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal Co-Founder Peter Thiel: Bitcoin Has ‘Great Potential Left’ on: October 27, 2017, 12:25:12 AM
Peter Thiel has got it wrong on some part.  It is easier to mine then gold to be honest and gold you have to locate, also is strongly volatile compared to gold.  Everything in the stock market can be called a bubble as well, and Bitcoin well compared to gold has way more then enough potential at that.

Well we have to convert Bitcoins or other cryptocurrency into fiat most times due to the fact you might need to buy something.  For example where I liv no one knows what or where to get bitcoins.  I cant yet use my bitcoins to buy food where I am at.  I am sure some of you can buy at your local market.  Countries like mine or way behind development when it comes to bitcoins.  They don't even have a credit card terminal.
2400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could be this 2017 bubble near its end? on: October 25, 2017, 08:03:07 PM
Cryptocoin market has always had its cycles like the stock market. 2017 was a terrific year with tons of runs and it has been very easy to make money, but I think it could be near its end. Market will fall and consolidate for 2-3 years and then another bubble.

What do you think?

Did you study the trend?   The only crash we gotten was the MTGox and that had to do with tons of bitcoins going missing.  IF you study the trend where that has not happen you will see bit get a mass increase, then has rollercoaster price fluctuation,  I say it can go to 4500 before it get to the next milestone, has been the same trend and if you think long term, its going to just go up,  if you dont worry about the temp dumps.
