241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin saved my year on: January 01, 2018, 07:42:58 AM
I started 2017 broke and with a very low wage. My girlfriend also broke up with me in the beginning of the year.
Although I had committed some trade mistakes I was able to get 400% gains, thanks to btc.  This gave me hope and made my year a lot better.
I wonder how many people bitcoin "saved" this year, even preventing some suicides maybe.

Congratulations on your fruitful year with Bitcoin. We may have stumbled at times last year but I am truly glad that you were able to bounce back and even exceed your expectations. As for me, Bitcoin has helped me in funding for my thesis. My savings alone are not enough since I have to divide it for commuting and other school needs. I am glad that through my earnings and savings through Bitcoin, I get to fund for the success of my research. A prosperous new year to all! May we all be successful this 2018!
242  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-01] Crypto Market Crash - Not The New Year’s Present Everyone Hoped For on: January 01, 2018, 06:37:42 AM
I guess with the season comes the crash. We all know how the holidays can affect the rates of each cryptocurrency. It is somehow expected to show decline since more people are selling since they are in need of some money. Hopefully after the holidays have passed, Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies would be back on track to having their rates rise. We just have to let the season pass and be patient.
243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how can we make gambling as an accepted recreational activity like sports game? on: December 31, 2017, 07:27:26 PM
By definition, gambling can fall under recreational activity since activities that involve recreation are often done for enjoyment, amusement, pleasure or simply put into something fun. However, what contradicts it is considering it as a sport since it doesn't involve any physical skill. It sometimes require mental skills but it doesn't count as a sport since it mainly depends on luck. There's a difference between recreational activity and sports and sadly gambling can't fall on both aspects.
244  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price fluctuation on: December 31, 2017, 02:15:22 PM
Will bitcoin price ever cease to fluctuate so hard? I mean currently it seems as if it's fluctuating just because of the trends among people who believe that investing into bitcoin, given some time, is 100% profit. But what if the so called bubble would burst, shouldn't the price get more stable?

Probably not. Bitcoin at it's core has a value determined by the investors and the users. With that, we know that there is no physical backing behind it. Because of that, it's hard to effectively price the coin. Bitcoin, I'd say is not really a bubble right now. For a bubble, I'd say that the price needs to be inflated. Right now, Bitcoin has been going down and I think a bubble has already burst. I doubt that we'll see a calmer Bitcoin in the near future

I couldn't agree more with player514. Bitcoin is Bitcoin because of its volatility. You cannot avoid its flactuations due to the fact that its already established in its nature to be so. If proper usage was to be imposed towards Bitcoin where people would use it wisely and not damage its balance, then most probably its volatility would be somehow controlled. With regards to Bitcoin being a bubble, it can be seen that it has a certain trend that can be affected by different factors. If it was a bubble, then it should'nt be recovering after it just bursted.
245  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-28] Dancing With the Devil: ‘Cashing Out’ Cryptos Into Fiat Not So Easy on: December 31, 2017, 10:17:51 AM
Cashing out in big amounts would surely turn heads arounds and bring in some doubts of where it comes from. As responsible citizens, no matter what country it may be, we should be held responsible for our actions and face the consequences wholeheartedly. If we are planning to cash out huge amounts for the right purpose, then let it be taxed. I do understand why some people are hesitant in having their Bitcoin earnings taxed, it is because the government can be too much at times that they abuse you. I don't blame them for feeling that way but at the end of the day, we all have responsibilities that we are all committed to fulfill.
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal VS Bitcoin on: December 31, 2017, 07:17:14 AM
I will choose to have it in Bitcoin definitely. Not being biased or so, but Paypal is a payment method on its own. Sooner or later, Bitcoin would be accepted in that platform. Not being biased or anything but Paypal is somewhat a server or a way to have money transacted. Comparing both aspects, Bitcoin is more flexible and can be used right away. It does not need any other network to work with (well aside from your wallet of course, but not like you need your credit card to use your Bitcoin). Having the 5,000 units of gifts into Bitcoin will give you more opportunities and profits for sure.
247  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin reach 40k at the end of 2018? on: December 31, 2017, 05:42:52 AM
It's still too early to say. We're still on the last day of 2017 and so far its making a slow increase as I feel like its still not recovering from the correction it experienced during the holidays. $40,000 is a lot and I am sure everybody would be happy to reach that rate. It doesn't seem impossible but for now, it is still to early to predict.
248  Economy / Economics / Re: Beside Cryptocurrenices where would you invest? on: December 30, 2017, 04:58:08 PM
Definitely real estates or properties. I am an aspiring civil engineer and my dream is to have a build and sell business to which acquiring of lands and properties are vital in order to make it possible. I truly believe that investing in properties is one of the most profitable and promising venture out there. With the right location, its price will continue to bloom throughout the years which will truly be beneficial for your part. Among all investment ventures, real estate has one of the longest lifetime to which will give you assurance for the long run. It may be pricey but the return would truly be worth it.
249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Frustrations: Losing Streak on: December 30, 2017, 03:40:32 PM
Losing at one point is part of the game but when it goes on for awhile it can definitely be frustrating and puts you in an off mood which I feel affects the way you play that causes you to even lose more. Being in this situation can truly be devastating which is why when I feel that I am continually losing, I try to take a break for awhile by walking it off to regain my composure. At times like this, I try to be positive and attract some good vibes to bring to my game. When the frustration is gone, I try to use a new machine or join a new table. If the losing continues, that’s it for me. I take it as a sign that today is not my day and it’s time to go home. Better luck next time for me indeed.
250  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC in 2018 january on: December 30, 2017, 01:59:42 PM
We are a few days away from January 2018, but I still think it’s too early to state a significant rate Bitcoin will reach by then. What I am pretty sure of is that the holidays took a toll of the rates and somehow affected it resulting to lower rates when we need it the most. So it is likely that it would rise after the new year has passed. Hopefully by late January we would be seeing an increase in its rate and not a decline as it is starting to worry some users; but I am hopeful that things would go well sooner. Just keep your faith towards Bitcoin as it always comes through.
251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be dethroned? on: December 30, 2017, 08:19:15 AM
As much as I am hoping that it won't, there are big chances that it would. Don't get me wrong, Bitcoin is very reliable however if other coins start stepping up their game and people would see that Bitcoin does not bring as much profit as the others does, then the chances are for Bitcoin to be replaced and dethroned. Bitcoin had a good run and is still promising up to date (despite the corrections), if it will be dethroned, it definitely left a good mark toward its users. It will be replaced but Bitcoin will leave a legacy that most of us would be thankful for in the future.
252  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoin ? which one will be the best to invest in 2018? on: December 30, 2017, 06:28:02 AM
Why can't it be both?

Exactly. I think investing in different types of coins is actually a smart move since you're expanding your horizons towards assurance. By investing in both Bitcoins and Altcoin, there are low chances of going home with nothing because somehow both coins will gain profit. Bitcoin alone can be promising but its volatility can be quite a deal breaker at times which is why trying out on other coins won't be a burden because you will somehow have a fall back. I'm not saying that other coins are not worthy, but they will definitely be there to assure that you will have profit no matter what.
253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: what impact has gambling make in your life? on: December 29, 2017, 04:34:50 PM
Gambling has allowed me to earn while entertaining myself. In this world where you can be easily exhausted and filled up with so much work load, you need an outlet just to relax and live a little. Through gambling, I am able to give time to myself and if I am lucky I earn a little which aids me in my day to day life since I am still a student and I don't have a day job yet. Although I don't do gambling regularly, it is somewhat a reward for me to be able to do so and if I win, that's a lot of bonuses for me.

255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how much money have you cashed out from bitcoin on: December 28, 2017, 10:37:39 AM
Just like the others, I haven't cashed out any of my Bitcoins just cause I am in high hoped that its value would continue to increase and I would get more than what I expect to have. Bitcoin on itself is also valuable so cashing it out defeats its purpose, but since Bitcoin is not widely used here in the Philippines, it is more practical to have it in fiat form. Maybe when I have hundred thousands worth of Peso in Bitcoin that's when I'll cash out a part of it.
256  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will Bitcoin stop its correction? on: December 28, 2017, 05:38:31 AM
I think that its decline will stop only after the new year arrives. After new year's day it is most likely that it will fully recover by then because there will be no big event coming real soon that would have the need to spend some money. I guess the holidays also has a direct effect on the Bitcoin rates. As you can see just after Christmas is when Bitcoin started recovering. Hopefully after the new year, it will fully recover.
257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is going to crash again? on: December 27, 2017, 07:55:35 PM
This is actually a possibility. It reached a remarkable rate of more or less $19,000 before it crashed during the Christmas season. As we are approaching the new year, we are currently experiencing a gradual rise which is a sign of relief to many as it is proven that Bitcoin is not a bubble. However as we near another big event which is the new year, it will most likely that Bitcoin will crash as the demand for it may be high. The possibility of crashing is big but let us not fear as we are all well aware that Bitcoin will come through after all these declines.
258  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to make a full recovery by year end? on: December 27, 2017, 06:57:40 PM
We are all hoping that Bitcoin will continue until the new year begins. However, with another special occasion bound to occur, I doubt that Bitcoin can fully recover by the end of this year as the new year approaches. It may continue to rise for now but as we are nearing January 1st, I think it will gradually drop for awhile then only after that day would it continue to fully recover. This is just an opinion and I might be wrong as well, but I am really glad that Bitcoin is on the rise.
259  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think the Xmas and Holiday season, caused the drop in the price? on: December 27, 2017, 05:20:06 PM
The holidays definitely had an impact towards the Bitcoin prices and as expected, due to the needs of people, it has caused a great correction that made people panic and do impulsive actions as before it reached a low rate, it hit a remarkable price. With Bitcoin rates reaching almost $20,000 before the holidays, the people were enthusiastic and somehow excited as it gave them the feel that there is more to spend on this season. The improper use on Bitcoin during its peak resulted to the correction which was timed with the holidays.
260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Now Climbing Back Again !! on: December 27, 2017, 09:04:35 AM
It was one steep roller coaster ride indeed! I am glad that just a few days after Christmas, Bitcoin is gradually rising. This just goes to show that we really have to be patient and keep our faith in Bitcoin as it will always come through despite the huge correction. As the holidays come to its end, the future of Bitcoin is bright. We may experience a small dip as the new year approaches, but this will definitely rise, like how it conquered the Christmas season. For now, let's enjoy this glorious moment of Bitcoin bouncing back.
