Livecoin keep maintenance for sumokoin wallet for few days, is it true that Livecoin just drop sumokoin from their exchange?

You ve made an account today to post just this thing.
Livecoin upgrades their wallet binaries to Sapporo.
They cant drop the coin even if they wanted to do (rest assured that they dont want to) cause fees were paid to get the coin listed.
If you want to fud at least show up with your everyday btctalk account dont create new ones to post shit.

Is there something wrong with the blockchain? All the mining pools aren't receiving blocks anymore. When I go to https://pool.sumokoin.com it says that they found the last block 36 minutes ago, but Global more than an hour ago. All the pools have a global status of more than an hour ago.

A lovely bot applied 5 MH/s to the network gained a couple of blocks, saw that there is no profit for it and departed leaving the diff quite high for the rest of the miners. Dont worry in the next ten minutes or so a block will be found and there will be a sudden drop in global hashrate

Ok, I see even the official pool is not able to find a block for the last hour. Just when my private pool needs to confirm my first block ever found with one more block, this happens, haha.  Cheesy

A block was just found and the diff decreased. Everything is back to normal. Its better to have such incidents now and then, blocks taking a bit time more to be found due to botnets joining and departing since there is no profit for them due to our diff algo, than having them constantly plaguing our network meaning no profit for the rest of the miners. Being first or second on whattomine tempts them to try and get on our network with no results for them as you can see.

Using Tor

While Sumokoin isn't made to integrate with Tor, it can be used wrapped with torsocks, if you add --p2p-bind-ip 127.0.0.1 to the sumokoind command line. You also want to set DNS requests to go over TCP, so they'll be routed through Tor, by setting DNS_PUBLIC=tcp. You may also disable IGD (UPnP port forwarding negotiation), which is pointless with Tor. To allow local connections from the wallet, you might have to add TORSOCKS_ALLOW_INBOUND=1, some OSes need it and some don't. Example:

DNS_PUBLIC=tcp torsocks sumokoind --p2p-bind-ip 127.0.0.1 --no-igd

or:

DNS_PUBLIC=tcp TORSOCKS_ALLOW_INBOUND=1 torsocks sumokoind --p2p-bind-ip 127.0.0.1 --no-igd

TAILS ships with a very restrictive set of firewall rules. Therefore, you need to add a rule to allow this connection too, in addition to telling torsocks to allow inbound connections. Full example:

sudo iptables -I OUTPUT 2 -p tcp -d 127.0.0.1 -m tcp --dport 18081 -j ACCEPT

DNS_PUBLIC=tcp torsocks ./sumokoind --p2p-bind-ip 127.0.0.1 --no-igd --rpc-bind-ip 127.0.0.1 --data-dir /home/your/directory/to/the/blockchain

./sumo-wallet-cli

Hi guys I have a Question

I got my First mining payment in sumo

i also restored my wallet via the words

My Wallet is fully synchronized but there are no coins in my wallet here is the id

https://explorer.sumokoin.com/tx/94c3bd34ab2d5848dedb527a79e4f90f0d4b7d97025d4c263679dce4b1036f8e

thx for help

If you are using cli, try this command : rescan_bc
If you are using GUI delete the ProgramData/Sumokoin folder reinstall the GUI and restore again
(this means that you have to download the chain again. If you want to avoid that download the chain from here https://www.dropbox.com/sh/y02m43ms03g5rjl/AAAZHv0y2kIQUhGFU-01WGqea?dl=0 and import it  )

Subaddresses (Part 1) merged

FYI, the first stable part of "subaddresses" code has been merged to master branch at Github. This is mainly for early user experiments and GUI wallet design.

Please refer to PR #28 for usage: https://github.com/sumoprojects/sumokoin/pull/28

As current wallet version doesn't recognize subaddresses as valid ones, please DO NOT use subaddresses for:

  • Withdrawal from exchanges
  • Mining receipt addresses
  • Sending funds to them from old (cli/GUI) wallets

Subaddresses (Part 2):

- Support sending to multiple subaddresses or mix of sub/primary addresses
- Improve scanning speed and stability

Expected release date: By Nov 30, 2017

After full-featured subaddresses code is completely merged, binaries will be officially bumped to version v.0.2 (code name: Sapporo)

GUI wallet with subaddresses:

Design target: Simplifying user experience with pre/auto subaddresses generation. User can freely pick any unused subaddress for receiving fund without revealing true main address.

Expected release date: In December 2017

Is "subaddress" a really high-priority implementation than a cold wallet/offline signing feature at this point in time? I mean, the forked version of Monero is already very secure, private and anonymous whereas users' wallet keys remain vulnerable to attacks while residing on online machines. The former is icing on the cake while the latter is a necessity.

Hi. Actually subaddresses besides the extra privacy/anonymity that they obviously offer they do "commercialize" the coin a lot, exchanges can issue seperate addresses for each user than using a common one for everyone and separate each by a unique id (which is quite confusing for users that had no previous experience with cryptonotes) same goes for online markets that can issue a unique deposit address for each of their customers.
Although I quite agree with the fact that the feature you are proposing is indeed a factor of a totaly secure coin (of course it doesnt affect anonymity & privacy)  to take on the role of the devil's advocate I might ask why is this coin's or any coin's obligation to secure your online machine from incoming attacks aiming to steal your keys, this is mainly the user's responsibility.

Actually, my post wasn't meant for you to reply to. I prefer a very knowledgeable person like a dev to answer me.

With your attitude? You should be feeling glad that I cared to reply to you let alone a dev....

I have a feeling that one of these "to-the-moon" days is near.

The coin has been getting some well deserved attention on social media lately. People are slowly, but surely, getting to know Sumokoin and it's bright future.

I'm really looking forward to part two of subaddresses(Nov. 30) and it being merged with GUI wallet(In December). it's going to be awesome!

I trully love Sumokoin! Grin

Hype and speculation is not sustainable. For a crypto to have "real" value and longevity, it must have mass-adoption of its primary use case/function which is as cash/currency. But to achieve that, it must be "portable" so people can transact/trade with it on the go just like cash. Therefore, a mobile wallet should be a priority as well as cold wallet/offline signing feature on the desktop GUI wallet to secure people's stashes of the token. After all, we are our own bank in the crypto world. The devs could then add the bells and whistles after these crucial implementation to add even more value to it. First things first; not ass-backwards process. Otherwise, it's merely a speculation instrument devoid of functionality. That's why people in the know (and there are a lot of smart people in this space) always equates such scenario as a Ponzi/scam. Don't get me wrong. I would very much like to see any crypto to achieve such success (i.e. function as cash and mass-adopted) but it has been frustrating to say the least.

Just imagine what would happen to the US$, Euro, etc. if people don't use them to trade/transact.

Still can't find information about bounty campaign in the first post.
Please let us know if there a bounty for this ICO?
Thanks

This is definitely not an ICO but a solid, innovative and 100% private cryptocoin and there is no bounty campaign

SUMO team, what is the plan yo add SUMO to more exchanges? Are you already talking to potential exchanges and any timeline regarding the process?

Also, one thing I haven’t liked about privacy coins is the slow transaction speed. As a suggestion, would love you guys to make this feature of fast transactions part of the roadmap (assuming it is feasible). That alone would be a HUGE differentiator for you guys.

Maybe we can organize a crowdfunding campaign to collect funds for an exchange listing.

What do you think about that? Anyone interested in participating?

LOL ok can you gather the below amount that HitBTC officialy asked from the dev team?

Price - 5 BTC, non-refundable for code checking

Basic Offer

6 months listing —— 9 BTC /per currency pair*
12 months listing —--- 15 BTC /per currency pair*

Lifetime listing: 3 pairs, unlimited listing + Blog Post = 50 BTC

We have cryptopia and livecoin currently (both of which were paid out of the devs own money (4 BTC for each exchange = 8 BTC in total 56000 usd at current rate) and there is hardly any volume in livecoin.
Big exchanges are unreachable at the moment cause they ask for huge fees, this is a great part of the reason the premine was kept for cause if you want to enlist at least three big exchanges you must have at hand big amounts of BTC and its tremendously difficult to gather such money from donations.
So be patient guys and use the two current exchanges

This is one of the few coins I can mine easily with my CPU.  I don't make much but it's nice to do when I'm using my PC for other things.  Electricity is so expensive in the UK, I don't do much GPU mining and I like CPU, because I can still do most things with my PC while mining.  Hope this coin grows, would be nice to see it in the top 100.
SUMO is not best for CPU mining... If you want to CPU mine Cryptonote coin mine AEON, it is probably better choice. SUMO mine with GPU.

aeon will give you more hashes due to cryptonight lite algo but SUMO is still more profitable to mine with CPU even though the hashes acquired will be less (much lower network difficulty)
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SUMO] SUMOKOIN - 🔏 Digital Cash For High-Confidential Transactions 🔏 on: November 15, 2017, 03:42:45 PM
In the logs of the daemon there is an IP address of the nodes. This is bad in terms of anonymity.
Is it possible to hide the IP addresses in the logs for more privacy?

By checking the logs all you can figure out is which ips are running a daemon. You cannot tell if a wallet is running on it and transacations are performed through this ip and even if you intercept a transmission you will never know the recipient let alone the amount.
Verge people (who by the way have a rich list at their blockexplorer site  Grin go figure how anonymous their coin is ) tried to magnify this issue and tried to disprove the absolute privacy of Monero but of course failed miserably.
Hence its not illegal or compromising secutiry the fact that you are running a daemon ( pools by default are running daemons that doesnt mean that you can trace their rewards or the miners ips ).
If for any other reason you really want your daemon ip not to show then run it on vpn or tor Smiley
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SUMO] SUMOKOIN - 🔏 Digital Cash For High-Confidential Transactions 🔏 on: November 15, 2017, 12:32:57 PM
Where would you put Sumokoin in the ranking of all those anon coins out there? Like Zcoin and Zcash etc. Is it really superior to Monero or does the advancement of the anon tech also come with other pitfalls? Would it be possible for Monero to upgrade the code base with what you have and if yes, why don't they do it?

In privacy Sumokoin is at the same level as Monero and this is 100% provable so there are no major differences in the anon tech.
Sumokoin at the moment is as anonymous and private as Monero.

BUT
What differentiates it from Monero is that Monero propagates through hard forks and patches. Sumokoin had just one hard fork, at the beginning, in order to introduce a new diff algo to deter nicehashers and cpu farms with extremely high hashing power to take advantage of the lag of the difficulty adjustment of the original cryptonote diff algo and gain the majority of the blocks while leaving the network stalled in high difficulty when it reached the proper relative value. This is why it is most of the times the most profitable coin to mine at whattomine even though its price at the moment is ridiculously low.
No further hard forks are anticipated.

Sumokoin also has RingCT and 12 mixins from day one, from the first coin minted so there are no traceable transactions in its chain, Monero had to hard fork recently in order to introduce compulsory ringCT so all transactions before that are potentially traceable.
Sumokoin has arguably a better coin emission plan (check the ANN) which doesnt emit all coins at the first couple of years making it commercially more attractable since it will reach maximum block reward when wishfully will be adopted by markets and the need of circulating coins volume will be greater.

Devs will be merging subaddresses capability to core this month that will enhance its privacy ( Monero already did ) devs are at the last stages of testing at the moment.

Sumokoin has a more easy to use and presentable GUI wallet which adds to the easy to use but 100% mentality of the coin.

Devs have plans to differentiate further from Monero but keeping the privacy principle attached so all innovations applied will not affect the fungibility and the 100% anonymity of the coin.

An additional handful of questions: - must you mine to create new coin even thugh you burn them or burning itself is like mining? - the larger come backoin case of burning is not assured, correct?
You most likely are posting in the wrong thread...

I created a gui wallet based on the sumokoin wallet:

reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Electroneum/comments/7ca8qw/electroneum_gui_wallet_pythonwin64/
github: https://github.com/XzenTorXz/ElectroneumGUIWallet/releases

When creating an adress from the wallet you cant recover it with the mnemonic seed! But you can use the wallet-files from the data/wallet/*.bin in the regular wallet-cli if you want to.

Hello Electroneum Fans !

If you want to take a glimpse at the coin your dev forked the wallet from, check out my sig  Grin

@Electroneum dev: Since you forked the Sumokoin wallet, I think it is legit to talk about Sumokoin here from time to time  Wink

apperently I did something wrong. What is the right way to appreciate sumokoin. It's not a secret it is a fork of the somokoin wallet. I wrote here, in reddit and on github that is based on the somokoin wallet (always the first sententce). I know these guys did the main work. And I choose the wallet because its a very nice wallet! What am I supposed to do ? to write it is a fork?

And Im not a dev of Electroneum, I was just tired waiting.

You did nothing wrong, Sumokoin's gui wallet code is free source. Actually we are happy that you chose our wallet to fork, you must give though the appropriate credit to Sumokoin devs. This way afterwards you ll have every right to ask for their help if something goes wrong with your fork.

how do I give the "appropriate credit", sorry this is my first fork.

You have given it already by discussing it  Wink. All the best with your fork dont hesitate to ask Sumokoin's devs for any support you might need.
