Here are the very good results:

ralle14, Janprix, Indymoney, Turquinito and rohang win our little internal round this week with 11 correct picks, but since all favs won today, I am not sure, if it will be enough for the overall leaderboard. Atletico gave us a scare, but the only consensus pick won in the end. For the other high consensus ones, only Everton disappointed us. Really annoying when you go against the fav with a draw and then the dog actually wins^^ The favourites mainly doing their job this weekend results in very good performances overall and since I was a bit bored during the Dortmund game, I calculated the average correct picks for the last 6 weeks:

Week 53: 8.80
Week 52: 6.68
Week 51: 6.86
Week 50: 6.30
Week 49: 8.85
Week 48: 5.74

As you see a very good week Wink

The all-time stats (sorted by fame points this time, don't get confused^^):

We never had 5 winners, so there are only a measly 20 fame points per winner this week.
After 17 weeks ralle14 was able to score a win again and his max went from 9 to 11, well done. JanpriX also went from 9 to 11 in the max category, Indymoney upped his to 11 and is close to a 8.x average now, chapeau.
Turquinito and rohang got their first fame points ever, take good care of them Grin

Here are the sorted averages from users with at least 8 participations:

See you next week with fresh hopes for some BTC Smiley
242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2021 on: January 03, 2021, 06:03:11 PM
I am not aware that Betfair is hosting this kind of games, by the way aside from Betfair do you know other platforms that host this kind of games just in case
we want to bet for the winners of this Eurovision song contest.

The ESC is normally covered by "all" bookmakers, at least the winners market. In most bookies you will find Top3, Top10, H2H and other side markets additionally. Even Betfair will have these markets at a later point.

I will just hope that the seeded to win will still get a good odds so we can try our luck by staking our bet to those five participants if it is possible to bet to
more than 1 participant to win the contest.

Being seeded for the final doesn't say anything about your chances to win the ESC. It's just that you, as one of the big payers, don't have to through the semi-final qualification round. In fact the Big5 do very bad generally in ESC (because people don't necessarily like to see the big countries win). The last win from one of these countries was Germany in 2010, followed by UK in 1997. France last won in 1977, Italy in 1990 (they took a long break in the 90's and 00's) and Spain in 1969.

@Saint-loup
Thanks, and welcome to the 2021 thread, I was hoping you would show up here Smiley

Who would have tought some weeks ago that the Jets are only slight underdog at the Patriots....and I think their odds still have value, lol. NE just wants this season to finish I guess, while the Jets might want to keep playing given their recent success. They beat two teams who were fighting for their PO spot and I can't see any reason, why they shouldn't be able to also beat the Pats in this divisional matchup, who have averaged an abysmal 8pts in their last three. I would like to see Cam start for this bet, but Stidham will be fine too. I think the odds for the Jets just aren't <2, because it would be too weird to see the Jets being favourite. But for me they are, Jets ML @2.40.

And I generally like the Broncos ML, not sure what makes the Raiders favs here. They both have their fair share of injuries and I read everywhere how banged up the DEN defense is, but they were doing ok-ish imo against the Chargers. I would more worry about the LV defense which allows their opponents to score heavily on them. But I won't have a pre-match bet here, since the Raiders are doing very good on the road this season (5-2, @home only 2-6).

(...)this 2+ for WAS looks amazing.

Down to ~1.50 already Shocked
244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Darts] 2021 PDC World Darts Championship on: January 03, 2021, 12:02:37 PM
So the final will be Anderson vs Price Smiley Odds are favouring Price slightly, which I think is wrong. Anderson has been here before and he will not be that nervous, whereas Price for me just wants it too much maybe. This can be a good thing, but against a veteran like Anderson I see it as a disadvantage. The Flying Scotsman is getting stronger and stronger each round; his last wins were all easy (6-3/5-1/4-0), while Price was struggling a lot more. Unlike Bunting/Gurney this Anderson will punish any weaknesses Price shows and this will drive Price crazy.
Otoh Price can, and surely will, play some mind games and Anderson can get distracted easily by (his) antics, like he already showed already in the Suljovic match. So all in all not something for a big bet, but I played Anderson to win @2.16 with medium stakes.

@tykiwanuka I think I have made a mistake in my picks.

Fixed it Smiley

Yan* guy actually wasn't there when the West Ham won and United won. Its impressive that he recorded 8/8 matches yesterday.

I think users with no wrong picks still do not show up in the leaderboard, so it's more likely that he had West Ham/ManU correct and then went 6/8 yesterday. And this being said, I am waiting for the day, when I have 14 correct and then boooooom there is someone with 15, who didn't show up in the leaderboard all the time Grin
246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: January 02, 2021, 09:34:42 PM
Lets hope Real will hold onto the lead or I will have to edit my post^^

10/15 games played and our fame leader shows why he is sitting rightfully at the top:

Loads of people with 6 correct picks in the hunt and the good news is, that noone has the exact remaining picks as Avirunes. The bad news for ralle14, JanpriX, Indymoney, Turquinito and rohang: If you win the MM this week, you would to share the prize with at least the afore mentioned guys Wink

But I guess there is no chance to win anything anyway, since there seems to be one highflyer in the otherwise pretty empty leaderboard Grin

Source: Sportsbet.io/Multimaster

The side event is also looking interesting - so many different odds Cheesy - but I guess Avirunes will update us asap.

@Thibaw
I actually can't check in your link no more, but I fixed it Smiley

Actually every single available strategy is a losing variation of martingale, if you know a winning one please show it to me, never seen anything similar.

As I already said I will provide proof. We can open bustabit.com and play all day or until seller agrees its working as described.

Cheers!

This doesn't answer the question from @nasipadang as to why you would want to sell this strategy - so whats the reason ? And don't you tell us you need money Grin
248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 02, 2021, 04:20:30 PM
The amount of spam posts in this thread is really unbearable. This is a prediction thread and not a place to post live results, everyone can check the live tickers to see the live scores, where is the point in posting them Huh I can see no picks, no odds, just the same bla bla all the time getting repeated over and over.

250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 02, 2021, 01:45:03 PM
Gladbach tb Bielefeld @1.64

Apart from missing Thuram with a red card, Gladbach has full squad and the little break surely helped them to recharge the batteries, after they looked a bit gassed before Christmas. There is a huge difference in quality here and despite Bielefeld doing ok table-wise, they are poor and don't belong in Bundesliga. They are lucky that with Mainz and Schalke there are even two worse teams as of now and they got two of their three wins just against these teams. The other win was against Cologne in their home opener this season.
Gladbach is already a bit under pressure and they are in danger of losing contact to the international spots. Bielefeld can be a tough nut to crack and they had some closes losses, but Gladbach has enough offensive firepower to escape with 3 points from Bielefeld.

As for the Leverkusen game, which seems to get quite some interest here, they are still able to field a very good squad, despite missing lots of players. But they were overperforming a bit so far imo and this will change sooner or later. Maybe Frankfurt can already send them back to reality a bit Wink

I took a resolution not to gamble.
Once again Started to gamble - Dice
(...)
I promised not to gamble again.
(...)
Later once again myself started to spend with limitations along with my girl.

(...)but lack of control

(...)the urge of money making.

These are quite some concerning statements, if you ask me Roll Eyes Until now as you say, you just play with savings, but it's probably not far until you start to play with money you need to pay your bills and then things can get ugly quite fast, if you have "lack of control" and the "urge to make money".

No serious gambling, just for fun along with my girl.

I don't think you are just playing for fun, but try to or have the expectation of making money. You can't make money with Dice longterm. You can make money short-term as you have shown, but the human nature is to be greedy, so all the money you make short-term, you will lose again, because you (and a lot of other people) just can't stop. They smelled the easy way of making money and believe they can beat the unbeatable odds, but this is just a pipedream.

All Casinos are rich, ask yourself why Grin
252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Darts] 2021 PDC World Darts Championship on: January 02, 2021, 12:07:49 PM
It's something incredible what Chisnall did today - beating Van Gerwen 5:0 is something unbeleavable. It's probably his best match in whole career.

Yep, this was unbelievable and probably one of the biggest suprises ever with this scoreline. Chizzy winning 5-0 was something around 100 odds Shocked And even when it was 4-0, I still had the feeling Chisnall could implode at any moment and MvG will go on to win this.

Anderson vs Chisnall final I'm guessing.

This is not possible, when they meet in semifinal tonight Wink

Price is around 1.35 tb Bunting and this looks fair. Bunting would need a very good and constant day to reach the final, but I think he is too erratic in the end.

Chisnall vs Anderson is 1.75 2.08 and I think there is small value on Anderson, I would have made him favourite here. For Chisnall this will be a super difficult game today after yesterdays performance, since it can only get worse from here on. But I don't want to bet on the winner here - maybe only if I can get Anderson 3+ inplay - and just placed a bet on over 23.5 total match 180s.

Chisnall has 1.8 180s per set on average throughout this WC, Anderson only 0.95. With 9 or more sets played, this would send it over statistically Grin But I am expecting Anderson to up this stat a bit today and this will also be a close one, so 9 sets might not be enough.
253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 02, 2021, 11:37:57 AM
Miami/Buffalo - Miami really needs this game but I just don't see them winning or even beating a +3 point spread. I'm waking up early to watch this one though...

If this wasn't a divisional matchup, where the Bills can spoil the party for the Dolphins, I would even go for Miami ML. Given the Steelers will tank against the Browns, then it would be better for the Bills to lose as well - playing the Browns is easier than the Colts imo. And the Steelers would get punished for obviously tanking by getting to play the Ravens instead of the Browns.

Maybe something for inplay, if the Steelers are down by 2+ TD's Wink

Dallas/NY Giants - This has the makings of a good game but with a +2 Giants spread its too close to call. Giants tend to cover a lot more than Dallas, but it could be a blowout for Dallas and a massive V.

Giants started ~1.65 two weeks ago and after Dallas' good performances, they suddenly were ~1.65 favs. Now the odds are slowly going up again, maybe also because of the Covid issues. Giants can only win this with one hell of a game defensively. They will probably struggle to score 20+ points again - even against the subpar Cowboys defense - and Dallas has averaged 36pts in their last 3. I would follow the Covid news in Dallas, see who is on the plane and then go for Dallas.

Pittsburgh/Cleveland - The line started at -6.5 Cleveland and has since moved as high as -10.5 on some books. Big Ben is out for this game, which probably explains it. Pretty sure Cleveland will win but -10 is too high for my tastes.

This is a game, that I would just leave alone, too hard to figure out. If you want to bet on this one badly, then I would choose Steelers ML. It's a bit strange to me, that PIT seems to show no interest in winning this one, because they can prevent CLE getting into the PO's by winning (assuming the Colts beat the Jags). This sounds like a nice prize......

(...) so if for some reason you did not had the chance to see either of those two QBs this is probably the last chance we will have to see one of them before they become pros next year.

The Jaguars must have hated watching this game and Fields stealing the show Grin Too much to think about now.....and imagine Fields having another game like this against Alabama.
254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: January 01, 2021, 05:48:52 PM
Some veterans are still missing, but here is what I have collected so far:

Only Atletico gets the trust of all participants, with Everton, Leicester, Real, Tottenham, Leipzig and Arsenal being highly rated by 16 or 17 of the 20 users.
We have an amazing 10 draws picked for the Brighton game, can't remember any game that had so many draws. Looking back we had 8 draws for QPR-Watford and Leeds-Arsenal some weeks ago with 17 people posting their picks. Looks very unlikely, that this will end in a draw now Grin
All in all there were quite a lot draws picked this week, around ~20%, which comes a bit closer to what the bookies probability for a draw is on average. Last week we had 13% draws picked and there were loads of them.
Non-covered results, apart from Atletico having to win, are the wins for West Ham, Newcastle and West Brom.

Good luck to everyone, may the new year start with some extra BTC for you Smiley

Edit: Posting the live table once again.
255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Darts] 2021 PDC World Darts Championship on: January 01, 2021, 05:26:46 PM
So Anderson and Bunting are through to the semifinals. I was a bit late for Bunting and he was cruising right from the beginning, so missed out on the nice odds on him. Took Anderson though and after a shaky start (or good start by vD), he easily won 5-1 in the end. Was just a little bit too much for the Dutchman as expected. Anderson had a 100+ avg, he seems to run hot just at the right time.

Thought some more about tonight games and I came to the conclusion that one of the favs will go out. Chisnall hasn't won against MvG for ages and I don't see him winning today as well; also considering he has never been past the QF here and will surely get nervous once he comes close to it.
Have to bet against Price in consequence, lol. He was good against King, but had some trouble with Dolan and Lewis the rounds before. Gurney was pretty solid thus far, but Price is a different animal of course, and for him it would be his first SF appearance as well. Part of this bet is surely that I can't stand Price, probably more hope than value, lets see Cheesy

Personally, I believe the audience is what brings the atmosphere which is what makes darts what it is. It has the atmosphere that brings everyone in the room together, and doesn't focus on rivalries as much as other sports.

Agree with the non-focus on rivalries, this is all in all a very friendly and easy going atmosphere, though rivalries do add a lot of spice in sports normally. What makes Darts very likeable is that a lot of athletes look like you and me, so it's a bit easier to identify with them. And I guess everyone has thrown a dart in their life in some pub - makes it harder to not adore them for what they are able to do.

Watching this on TV, there is no sports, where you feel such a big part of the attendance; being really inside the crowd with all the crazy things they are normally doing. It's a very good show and they have a very good slot with their Championships every year - there are not a lot of other sports going on during this time of the year.
256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you ever bet on SRL events? on: January 01, 2021, 03:41:30 PM
Never placed a bet on something like that and wouldn't recommend to do so Roll Eyes

Ask yourself this question: What can I do to be able to beat this market ? Is there even a chance to beat this market, when a machine calculates the outcome and you don't know how this is done ? And if you (or everyone) knew how it is done, where is the point in a bookie offering such bets ?

I am not a fan of Casinos, but you are better off spending your money there, because you will lose less Wink

Yeah excel skills get rusty if you don't give a touch once in a while. I am touching after so long. Cheesy . About your request, I was actually trying to do something like conditional formatting but I failed at that so will give it a try later again but for now I have come with other solution - separated the section and made "Result" sheet and that will lookup the highest score and give you the name against it. Just now tested it and seems to be working fine. Yeah, I know not a very fine solution but will do the work.

I just tried myself, because you made me curious. I am by no means an excel pro and came up with 3 help columns, but it works all automated. There is for sure a more lean solution and it's actually a lot of work, so I didn't do the whole table, just rdbase Grin

Uploaded it to the public MM sheet (Test), if you need some input or just want to have a look @Avirunes.
258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 31, 2020, 02:49:56 PM
Thanks for the side event @buwaytress, very nice. And nice table @Avirunes.

Pretty silent regarding the picks in here overall, looks like some people are not interested, when Flamengo isn't playing Cheesy

My picks:

Borussia Dortmund - VfL Wolfsburg
Brighton & Hove Albion FC - Wolverhampton Wanderers FC DRAW
Chelsea FC - Manchester City FC
Deportivo Alaves - Atletico Madrid
Atalanta BC - Sassuolo Calcio
Eintracht Frankfurt - Bayer Leverkusen
Everton FC - West Ham United FC
Manchester United FC - Aston Villa FC DRAW
Newcastle United FC - Leicester City FC
Real Betis Balompie - Sevilla FC
Real Madrid - RC Celta de Vigo
Swansea City - Watford FC
Tottenham Hotspur FC - Leeds United
VfB Stuttgart - RB Leipzig
West Bromwich Albion - Arsenal FC

Apart from the Leipzig game, the outcomes were picked with a random number generator; weighing the odds in. I like most of them, lol.

So van den Bergh lost to Chisnall. I like Chizzy and always thought he underperformed a bit in the WC, so this was a good win for him. Some nice drama between van Duijvenbode/Durrant and Bunting/Searle.

The quarterfinal odds:

Source: https://www.oddsportal.com/darts/world/pdc-world-championship/

A bit surprised with these low odds for Ratajski, looks more 50/50 to me. And I like Andersons odds, because he has been at this stage multiple times, while van Duijvenbode will be super nervous and he didn't convince me against Durrant.

Everything is pointing to a MvG - Price final now, though I can maybe see Anderson beating MvG in semifinal - if both get there Grin
260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2021 on: December 29, 2020, 06:21:50 PM
And it's not fully correct to say that Ukraine returns, because they already had to participate in 2020 with this song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNetXPSld50&list=RDzNetXPSld50, though they didn't participate in 2019.

Yes, this is still the information from the 2020 thread and I left it there, since technically it's correct imo. Officially there was no contest in 2020, so they give their comeback after having missed one edition (the 2019 one). But this is splitting hairs and probably not that important in the end Grin Just a side note^^

Good to see you around in this thread @LTU_btc. Pretty bad luck for The Roop. It's not easy to produce a winning song for the ESC, especially not for a small country like Lithuania with few diaspora. Keeping my fingers crossed for them to be kissed by the muse this year as well Smiley
