I've passed the invalid nonce error, now I've got some -5 error or something. I just want to mine litecoin! Sad

So Phoenix you think?

Okay newbies, I'm a newbie too using cgminer, but I'm receiving the following error;

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,

I'm paying 24.25 c / kWh, but then I have to take supply into consideration, more like 35 - 40 c / kWh. I'm beginning to find that I may be better off mining for Litecoin rather than Bitcoin.

I feel FPGA chips are the way to go if you can get one relatively cheaply rather than spend money on an ASIC machine you might not get for a year, only reason I haven't jumped into the queue, don't know how long the wait will actually be.

Undecided I wonder if there's any updates on that by the way...

Your figures are right, I tested a card I had that was drawing 28 megahashes. I've now a 600 megahash card, and even running this card 24/7, that's going to take me a rough month to make 1 BTC, and I'm probably going to spend an estimated $50AUD mining it... so, yeah, we need better hardware, more cost effective hardware, we need to look at these ASIC machines that are available.

If you want to chat more to another newby via PM, I'm keen.

Cheers,

Smiley

Why thank you... may I ask a math question?

I'm running 600 mhashs and I'm paying 25.24c / kWh for my electricity, currently on Slush's pool. Am I likely to come out in front over a month? Was hoping someone's been here done this and can tell me. I could do the math, but haven't sat down to work it out at this point in time...

If you're in Sydney, what are you running?

Another Aussie here too, is this really worth our mining costs?

Only just started, .013 BTC generated...

Hmmm  Huh

[EDIT]

I'm in high spirits though, it WILL be worth the cost of mining.

I'm having the same problem with a single 7970 tried installing new drivers etc, no such luck, seems there's no easy fix?
249  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blocks, mhashs, shares, rewards, confused on: May 18, 2013, 09:50:06 AM
Yeah,

If your'e in a shared pool and it's your hash that solves the block though, are you automatically rewarded extra? Or it simply gets split on share input? I don't think Slush's pool shows this stat, just shows my share or reward.

Thanks for the response.

Hi All,

Complete cgminer newbie here and am getting the same error, and the pool has only accept three share with one stale. Scratch that, 4 shares 1 stale, so it's accepting some, but still a hell of a lot of errors.

Win 7/32bit
Gigabyte 7970
Catalyst 12.8
Currently installing AMD SDK 2.7 to hopefully solve the error, I'm running cgmminer 3.1.1.

Does anyone know of any working software combinations for my setup or to get cgminer 3.1.1 to run with my 7970?

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers,
Jeff

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for reading. I'm just starting out in mining and wanted to ask what's possibly a 'silly' question. So I've got my Wallet set up and GIUMiner is mining with slush's pool. I'm mining at 28.2 mhash/s and have currently accepted 34 shares.

My question is, how will I know (except probably from email) that a block has been solved and if I've been rewarded any bitcoins?

Thanks again,
Jeff
