Blocks, mhashs, shares, rewards, confused

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for reading. I'm just starting out in mining and wanted to ask what's possibly a 'silly' question. So I've got my Wallet set up and GIUMiner is mining with slush's pool. I'm mining at 28.2 mhash/s and have currently accepted 34 shares.

My question is, how will I know (except probably from email) that a block has been solved and if I've been rewarded any bitcoins?

Watch your account pool page it usually shows who solved what block and your current valance - usually all in the pools stats page

Yeah,

If your'e in a shared pool and it's your hash that solves the block though, are you automatically rewarded extra? Or it simply gets split on share input? I don't think Slush's pool shows this stat, just shows my share or reward.
